The biggest pos store I've ever had to deal with. I've been on the phone trying to buy an item that only they have in-store for 3.5 weeks now and no one has been able to help me. When you miraculously reach someone by phone they either put the phone down for 30+ minutes while they sit and bullshit with their colleagues, having completely forgotten about you, or someone gets your contact info to "call you back" regarding your inquiry and doesn't follow through. I had one girl argue with me for 5 minutes trying to tell me that items cannot be bought from the store and shipped to your house, until I asked for a manager who she at first refused to get, to only have that manager confirm that yes, items can be purchased via phone with a Macy's card & to have that manager flake on me afterwards. Macy's has thee worst customer service I have ever seen, in-store and over the phone. It seems like the operators they hire have half a brain. Seriously, retail work is not that hard, I have never seen such a level of incompetency. read more

Employees do not know return policy or where anything is located, was told I could not return a dress even though their policy clearly states you have 365 days to return it, employee stated I had 30 days. It also needs more employees, took me 10 minutes to find someone that worked there. Nordstrom is definitely a better department store in both educating its employees and having plenty of them, oh and the return policy is hassle-free. We purchased a bedding set and two couches from Macy's in Northpark, thinking we would be better off looking at the floor model in person instead of buying from an online vendor. The bed showed up with 2 right legs, one of the end tables was white (the rest of our furniture is dark brown), the couch was missing a foot, they scratched our new hardwood floors, and the delivery truck dropped a basketball-sized oil leak on the street in front of my house. The next week they swapped the couch, and the new one was even more damaged than the first! The bed finally went together but did not match the store model, the person who was supposed to inspect our floors had his car towed and didn't show, and the truck dropped another basketball-sized oil spot on the other side of my driveway. We went into the store to check that the floor model was really different, and it was. When we asked the sales person for help, he said it wasn't his salescheck so we should call customer service. Apparently they work on commission, and can't be bothered to help you if they didn't make a sale. Customer service says they're in Clearwater, Florida, so how would they know about the floor model?? I've never experienced service this bad in my life. I'll be spending next Saturday waiting for this inept company to deliver a 3rd couch and maybe show up to look at my floors. read more

I tried to buy a couch from the Macy's at this location. Everything that could possibly go wrong with this order has gone wrong. They shipped the wrong couch, but only half of the wrong couch because part of it was damaged. They forgot to put in a new order and missed the second shipment date. When we finally placed a new order they missed the third shipment date because the furniture was damaged. After I realized they cannot do anything correctly, I drove into the store to talk to them in person. 45 days after my original purchase, I still have half of the wrong couch in my living room. Management and customer service have been rude and unhelpful. I strongly urge you to never buy furniture from this location. read more

I have been a loyal Macy customer for years. Most of our furniture was purchased at macy. We have always been pleased until now. About eight months ago we purchased a very expensive titanium mattress and box spring. We noticed it was sagging in a way you felt you were rolling off the bed. Macy sent someone out to investigate. After measuring he confirmed there was a dip. He then called someone on the phone to speak to me. The person said we were only three quarters there to get a new mattress. Our depression was not big enough. He offered us not a single solution to our problem. So they confirmed the depression in the mattress and confirmed our feeling of rolling off the bed. Let me preface the following by saying my own personal experience happened back in 2010 with the furniture department. The Husband and I found a great couch/chair that we thought would look so absolutely perfect in our new home. The salesperson that helped us told us point-blank that the items we chose, in the fabrics we wanted, were not in stock and would have to be made. We were told 2 months at the very latest to get those items delivered to us. Well at that time, that worked out fine. It takes time to get a new household set up the way you want it, right? So we'll keep our over-puffed old couch until the new one gets in. We were having a huge party in 4 months time, and we needed it by then. No problem, says the nice salesman. I began getting a bad feeling at month 3. We called and called and called. Our salesperson was never there. Never returned our calls. So we spoke with a very nice woman, told her our plight. She told us our item was on backorder. Which means: it hadn't even been made, but she'd do everything she could to find our more information about when it'd be arriving. Never heard from her again. So we went in and demanded a refund of our deposit at month 4. We had to go argue with a department head honcho. It was not pretty. I'm sure I increased my gray hair percentage by 15-20% just from this whole experience. Customer service, on the surface, was "helpful" but then they never followed up. Hence, we had a huge houseparty with a couch borrowed from our neighbor. Save yourself the trouble and just don't do it. Or, if you do, make sure what you want is a stock item. Otherwise, it's a ridiculous amount of work and stress for absolutely no reason. read more

I love this store. I especially love the sales person named "Lilian." She is super!!! I only go to her because she really takes care of me and goes out of her way to find things for me or make sure I'm taken care of. And she is very, very nice. I love Macy's 25% off the 65% off sale! I've stocked up on jewelry by my favorite brands (Lucky Brand, Robert Lee Morris, etc.). I bought all of my Christmas presents at this store, too, and returns were no problem. I even had a sales person tell me about a discount I didn't know about so she saved me even more money. Love this store....love Macys! read more

I almost never write reviews and when I do it is if the service is really good or really bad. I've been to the Macy's childrens department a few times and every time I've been there, there is no one at the counter. No one smiles or asks if you need help. So you have to walk across the store to find someone in a different department to ring you up. OK, I guess I get you can't afford to staff your store. But today the customer service got an A for ATTITUDE. First the guy didn't know how to process a return and claimed the register was broken. Then the lady with absolutely no smile, no hi how are you, just an apathetic look on her face like I was inconveniencing her took the return. No smile the entire time!!! Then after the return I don't know why but I started to apologize and half way through saying I'm sorry for, she looked at the next lady in line and said "yeah" to cut me off. Okay, either you guys need to get some friendlier staff or you're going to lose your customers to places like Target which by the way have really cute kid's clothes for less and the floor staff go out of their way to be friendly and ask how you are, every single of the staff at Target on the floor. Apparently Macy's doesn't believe in customer service or hiring friendly people. Maybe they should take notes from Target of all places! I met Luis at Macy's SGH department on the first floor. He was just returning from downtown on the train. He walked from the Park Lane train station to the mall. He doesn't mind walking. He is a triplett and he and his sisters used to walk to the mall together frequently when he lived at home w/ his parents off Park Lane. I enjoyed looking at the sunglasses, but as soon as I saw Luis I was overcome w/ happiness. We kissed and then rodenthe escalator and stopped thru the men's Ralph Lauren Polo dept. A sales lady popped out and told us that she could "pre-sell" items for an awesome sale that was coming up, but we did not take advantage of this offer b/c we were just breezing thru. I was on the way to have my nails done at Avalon. We did see that the "slim cut" polo shirts were $39.50 and the "regular cut" polo shirts were $79.00. We did not notice the difference and asked the lady and she explained the "cut" of the shirt was the difference. We passed thru admiring and pressed on to Avalon. read more

My review is for the Men's department, Children's, and whatever they call that room with bras and panties and slips and stuff. Everytime I've shopped for things from these 3 areas, I've had stellar customer service. Night before last, I was shopping for shirts for hubby on the 75% off racks, mostly. I bought 8 shirts for $50, and I bought 3 ADORABLE girls' tops for $7.99, that would've cost 4 times that much at that store that doesn't do "justice" to the word "sale". Macy's never makes me feel like a cheap skate when I'm looking for the clearance stuff, even when I whip out my 20% off coupon on top of the 75% off. I also like that when I'm in the women's department, if I say I don't want help, they keep the hell away from me. I despise being tailed like I'm going to steal something, being interrogated about what occasion I might be shopping for. Maybe my ass got bigger and I want new jeans? Ok? Back off. And at Macy's, they will back off, or help you if you need to ask if the jeans make your butt look big. read more

I placed an online order with a pickup at Macy's NorthPark. I went to pick it up Fri, Dec 14th. When I arrived at the customer service area there were two lines marked, one of which was for online pickups. I got in that line and was promptly told there was only one line which was the line with pick-ups, returns and other customer service issues. I waited OVER 20 MINUTES (per the stopwatch on my phone) to get to the front of the line to pick up my package. Only two of three registers were open and one register had a customer who was searching on her phone for something for over 15 minutes. Instead of the associate asking her to look for it while she helped someone else, the associate just stood there while the customer kept searching through her phone. I saw 7 associates coming and going while I was in line and no one offered to alleviate the line or do anything to help. It was absolutely ridiculous and one of the worst examples of customer service I have seen in a long time. I will NEVER order online again and will only go to Macy's as a last resort after this experience. Beware!!!!! read more

So I went in today to just look around for something... I found a little Christmas cup and saucer on clearance. Thought it was cute and not the biggest purchase at all but I work for my money and who knows? Maybe if I have a little something I might want to spend some money later on. So I go to the register and there's a 'sista' behind the register and she doesn't say anything to greet me. Then she has the nerve to ask me 'do you want me to wrap it?' Seriously? Uh yeah I do. She can't find tape, super cheap with the bubble wrap, too busy talking to a coworker about there whereabouts of another employee. And then half ass wraps it. So I go to get on the bus and the bag taps the door and both items break. It's not the biggest purchase but I WAS planning on going back to get more of the collections. Not anymore. She wasn't wearing a name tag but really way too much attitude for a Macy's. She might be better suited for a Walmart maybe. So disappointed. read more

All I wanted to do was purchase a tube of red lipstick from the makeup counter. As I walked up to each counter, the little employees completely ignored me or turned their backs to act as though they didn't see me standing there. The only person kind enough to help was the lady at Clinique. She was very helpful, friendly , and did everything she could to find the product I was looking for. This year I tried something new, online shopping. Macy's online shopping was a complete disaster and a terrible experience. I placed my order December 13th for my entire family. I took advantage of many great deals. The order was confirmed online and then around the 16th after following up on it I discovered it had been cancelled. I called, even offered another credit card, they said my card was fine and promised me the order by Christmas. It did not arrive by Dec., 26 and to my surprise it had been cancelled again...I called their fraud dept. and they apologized and replaced the order. They weren't even clear why? They are not empowered to make me happy. Two of the items are no longer available even though I received an advertisement today offering me those exact items. I asked for the customer service supervisor, Johnathon and he told me I'm sorry I'm not allowed to do anything nice for your trouble. "Your just basically screwed". I recently bought a Macy's sofa. Sofa deserves 5 stars, the WorryNnoMore protection plan I bought for the couch deserves 0 stars. WorryNoMore was a total nightmare. I called after my cat urinated on the couch and received a call back fairly quickly. However although WorryNoMore appears to have contracts with furniture cleaning companies all over they unwisely chose to assign a company to me that was 5 hours away (even though I live in a major metropolitan area) and could only come on Saturdays.When that didn't work, a second company scheduled an appointment about 1.5 weeks later. A short while before they were due to arrive, they cancelled due to their car breaking down. The third company (which was supposedly in the Dallas area) scheduled for the following week. So it would now be over 3 weeks that I'm living with a smelly couch. When I mentioned to WorryNoMore that I thought it would be difficult to get the smell out after 3 weeks they informed me that the warranty is for stains only, not smells. They specifically warranty pet urine stains. Why would I want anyone to clean my couch if they were only cleaning the stain and not the odor? What could is a clean couch that smells. But no "worry", the third company failed to show up also. They called a few minutes before they were scheduled to arrive stating that they were "stuck" about 2 hours away (so much for a local company). After calling Macy's they were able to refund to me the WorryNoMore plan I bought but now I'm stuck finding a company to clean a urine stain that is 3 weeks old. read more
