First off, how can't anyone give Macy's 5 Stars, it Macy's!! Awesome clothes, great shoe selection and very good customer service! I opened up my first credit card here at Macy's in Fashion fair in 1998 and absolutely love this store (Fashion Fair mall on the other hand, blahhh!) I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of clothes over the years and have never had a bad experience. Today I went in to get me a couple of pairs of Levi's 514. They were on sale for $49.99, regularly $68 dollars. As I approached the counter the sales associate asked if I need the pants today and I advised her that I did not. She then went on to advise me, if I prepaid for them today, I could receive an additional 25% off (Friends & Family) and pick them up on the 26th. Score!! I immediately jumped on the offer and purchased them ($80 out the door). I am heading back tomorrow to get another two pairs, he he! This review is for the Sunglass Hut inside of Fashion Fair Mall. I bought some sunglasses as a gift for someone on the Monday before Christmas. I ended up finding a pair I liked better somewhere else so decided to return them. I go in the day after Christmas (3 days later) and they tell me that they can't return them because they are scratched. Now first off, I don't see the scratch they are talking about. Second, I never even took them out of the case or bag because I knew I wasn't going to keep them. Instead they sent me to the River Park store, which I will gladly go to since I have never had a bad experience there! They were simply worried that another return would affect their daily sales goal. If they knew the glasses were damaged to the point of no return, why would they send me to another store?? Anyway, they can keep their crappy attitude and I will go elsewhere. If you're looking for sunglasses at the mall, try another store! read more

I've always loved shopping at Macy's. This location in particular is always a great experience. They have really fashionable styles but you don't have to spend your whole life savings to afford them. And if you can wait until they go on sale, or even better, clearance, you'll do even better. I went yesterday (the day after black Friday) expecting to have a miserable time. I didn't want to go, but I needed to. The mall was crowded and hectic as you'd expect, but not this particular store. It was indeed crowded, but all of the employees were relaxed and friendly. If they had been stressed and frantic I wouldn't have held it against them. It's that time of year. But I didn't feel any of the stress they must be under. Just friendly service. Even when I brought a pair of pants to the register that didn't have a tag (I'm starting to suspect they don't make pants in a 34x34 with a tag because there never seems to be one) the sales clerk calmly asked where I had gotten them and went to check the price. She dismissed my apologies saying "no big deal, it's that time of year." And for all their calm demeanor, wait times were actually shorter here than any of the other stores we visited that day. Not only that, but unlike other stores which were in shambles after black Friday, Macy's was as pristine and organized as always. This is definitely a great place to do your Christmas shopping (or shopping any time of year). Great clothes, great sales, great service. Terrible customer service in the Shoe Department. There was plenty of help but no eye contact or an effort to resolve or help. Just came in to return a shoe because the back my heel was rubbing on the shoe, team members didn't really care to give me tips or show me which heel grips would help. Apparently their are complimentary heel grips that they give for free. Wish they would have included that so I didn't have to drive back to the store for some. I did have to get someone's attention and make it a point that I need help to finally get some feedback. Alyn was a bit rude and huffing and puffing underneath his breath. Eh. (My review is for the Macy's Woman's store.) I came in here on Sunday with a friend and her mother, to look for clothes to wear to a wedding. While I was there, I found a super cute halter top with a crazy zipper down the front. It was totally impractical, and I had to have it for that reason alone. The rack that it (and several others of the same) was on said 40% off. When I looked at the tag, it was marked 33% off. I asked the cashier if it was on the wrong rack and she assured me that it was 40% off. *sigh* Now I'm no mathematician, but I can do the basics pretty quickly in my head. When I told the cashier that it wasn't marked down to 40% off, she just stared at me and then ignored me until I got sick of looking at her and walked away. We spent a bunch of time in there, trying to find a skirt to go with this shirt and yadda, yadda...and by the end of the trip, I decided I was going to purchase the top anyway, because it made me that giddy. (I also thought my husband would get frisky once he saw it. Friskiness is a great motivator, if you knows what I be sayin'..) While standing in line, my sneaky friend pointed out a sign that was posted on the front of their registers, stating that if they charge you the wrong price on an item and then ask you for payment, they would fix the price and then give you an additional $10 off on the spot. Danger! I'm going in! When it is my turn to buy, I give the cashier my top, wait for her to ask me for the incorrect price...and I *pounce*. I ask her if they were on the wrong rack, and she tells me that they are 40% off, so they are on the correct rack. I tell her that they are marked wrong and ask her to check the math. She fiddles around with a calculator, then turns back and tells me that 40% off of $45 is $36, so I'm actually getting a better deal by going with the tag. I look at her, thinking, "Go get your G.E.D. on your break.", but instead tell her that she should be giving me $18 off. I don't know if I need to beat my chest like a crazy monkey or use a British accent, but ya'll need to listen to me once in awhile. She finally fixes it and I remind her of the policy, but she blows me off and says she won't give me the $10 off because she already fixed the price. Why have a policy if your associates aren't going to follow it? First time and last time. I'll be wearing my cute, crazy top to JC Penney's and when someone asks me where I got it, I'll tell them a crazy, high school drop out sold it to me. (Harsh? I wanted to purchase my friend's wedding gift (from her registry) at the store, rather than online. Seriously, $12.95 for shipping? Ugh. I called the store in advance to ask about a couple items that I wanted to purchase and ended up talking to Kent in the Home department. I told him that I had a few items that I wanted to inquire about including their respective prices. He said it was no problem. He gathered the items and told me the prices. The knife set I was interested in was advertised as $39.99 online, but he said it was $49.99. He advised me to print the page and that he'd be able to price match. Awesome! I came into the store shortly after and he had everything on hold for me, ensured that the items were synced with the registry, and that I received the advertised price online. He was so awesome! I am not even gonna rate the service I had at the Estee lauder counter yesterday. A woman named Janice was rude even to the point that felt less then most of all embarrassed to be asking for a product she basically refused to sell in the first place, then she said they didn't have it. She was making it clear it wasn't for me and after I asked her well can I least try , she made a face and gave me a lil to try. It was in fact what I wanted, she still continued to say how dry it was gonna make my skin ...blah blah..., nonetheless the service from her was horrible and not very professional, not even trying to show me other products, just sad i'll never shop at the counter again. read more

This review is for the Bridal/Wedding Registry department that is located downstairs within the Fine China department. My husband and I are so happy with our experience at Macy's versus the experience we had starting other Bridal Registries. We were met with experienced professionals who truly knew the meaning of customer service. The day we started our registry, the department was busy but our Bridal Consultant was not fazed. She started up our registry, gave us instructions, and sent us on our way. What was really nice about it was how we weren't bothered or pressured. She checked on us a couple times to make sure we were OK and let us make decisions on our own as a couple. After we were done, she helped us finish the process and sent us on our way with a printed copy of our registry, printed copies of our reward forms and their instructions, registry cards, and smiles on our faces. After our wedding, we had to make some gift returns. We called in beforehand to set up an appointment. When we arrived, the Bridal Consultant was busy with two other couples but the lead associate in the Fina China department easily took control and handled our return and the purchases we made following the return. She was kind, courteous and extremely helpful. One of our purchases needed to be sent in to their Distribution Center or to the vendor (I'm not sure which) but she easily handled that and did everything very quickly. With her help, we took advantage of all the special offers and coupons that were available to us. If I could give this department MORE than 5 stars, I would. So far this is the best place to shop in Fresno, especially on "Sale Days", which is all the time since Macy's sends out the discount cards. I would give this store a 3.5 star if available. There are 3 floors and the staff has been helpful. The mall setup is pretty strange and the outside is not appealing. I love discounts and coupons. Trolling for after-Christmas bargains, happened upon a cool jacket for the hubby. It's actually two jackets in one, w/ a zip-out inner jacket. Retail: $280, marked down to $99, additional 50% off $49.99. Coupon $15 off a $50 purchase. The POS terminal is so smart that it knows that $49.99 is a penny short of $50. Must buy Macy's water at $1.50 to use the coupon. ANYway, $280 jacket out-the-door for $36, and some fancy Macy's water to hydrate the rest of the shopping day! read more

I don't shop at Macys a lot but when I do it has always been very organized and great personnel helping the customers . I have bought makeup, shoes, accessories and clothing and all have been of great quality and has lasted years of wear and tear. Review for Mens Macys shoe department. First, I avoid going to fashion fair mall as much as I can. Once or twice a year I find myself pinned in a corner and have to go. On this occasion last Sunday I took my son to the Vans store because that's his favorite shoe brand(irrelevant to this review). I've been wearing the same pair of work shoes for over 2 years. I like them so much I had them repaired twice and polished about a dozen times. I decided to buy another pair since we were already at the mall and Mens Macys was on our way out. Once the tread is worn and shoes are falling apart, it's a clear sign you need new shoes. If possible I would have bought a pair of the exact same shoes, of coarse that wasn't an option. I bought a similar pair in my size(10) but they were a bit snug, I didn't think much of it since they were new. The next day after wearing them a few hours at work my feet were hurting. I called and asked if I could exchange them, Nadine said yes we'll swap them out for a bigger size. I wasn't able to make it that day. The following day I wore them again, still hurting my feet. I called the shoe department, Nadine says I remember you, yes bring them in for an exchange. At this point they had obvious signs of wear and not resalable. I called Macys and spoke with Nadine again, even explained the wear after wearing the shoes 1.5 days. She says it's only been 2 days, your feet shouldn't hurt, come in for an exchange. I couldn't believe it and was a bit shy to come back for an exchange, even though "I" chose to buy shoes that were too tight they were willing to take them back. I come in and they swap them out hassle free. GET THIS, they're now $42 cheaper so I received an exchange and money back. I was blown away by this level of customer service. I was shocked to receive an exchange for shoes which obviously weren't resalable and received some money back because they were now cheaper. Loyal customer here!!! I would have been more than happy with an even exchange for a larger size but they went beyond that and were honest about the new shoe sale for a lower price and gave me money back. This place is AMAZING! They have sections for girls, women, men, and boys. Their selection of clothing is very much. They have all sorts of brands of clothing inside each section. I highly recommend this place if you are trying to find casual, modern, or fancy clothing. The employees are very friendly and patient. They help everyone with a very friendly voice and attitude. They do not act out if you are upset, instead they stay calm and ask for management. I love this place!!! read more

The customer service place which is posted as returns made me go to the counter of the item I had purchased. I think it was because she closed her register early and was trying to not take any customers anymore when there was still an hour left of the store to be open. The Macy's in Fresno Fair need to make some major changes!!! Maybe do away with some of their employees. I know that there are a lot of others out there that would appreciate having a job there, instead of those lazy people or thief profilers that don't know how to treat people. They don't even know how to pretend to be nice. So wrong!!! I was browsing at the fragrances and a brunette older white lady with glasses profiled me as a thief. She kept questions me and asking if I needed help. That's what workers do when they think someone is about to steal. I did customer service for 15 years. We are supposed to be living in an inclusive society and a lady treats me like a thief because I chose to go to the mall in comfy clothes. Not dressed to the 9's and full face makeup. Train your people on how to treat people. I won't say all workers there were like that but dang, I experienced a lazy employee at the back customer service desk and a profiler at the DIOR COUNTER. REVIEW for Chanel Fragrance Counter If I could give the women's fragrance section less than one I WOULD! Made eye contact with three different workers at the Chanel Fragrance area and kept getting ignored. I was obviously right in front of the area and needed help. No one approached either me or my sister. I was under the weather and was just in shorts and t-shirt, I suppose I didn't look like a customer worth helping. Despicable CUSTOMER SERVICE. But people that were continuously waking by, barely giving the area a glance got all the attention in the world! I am beyond upset at this point. These older women were on their cellphones and texting behind the counter! UHM, hello?!? I am right here! I KNOW WHAT I WANT! Made one last attempt to get someone's attention, didn't happen. Decided to run up to the lady and I was like, Chanel eau Frâuche bottle now please. And she was like oh I'm SORRY, I didn't see you there. Oh please! SAVE YOUR CRAP! You saw me! We made eye contact literally five times!!! But I just wanted to get the hell out of there at this point. I will no longer go to Macy's for my perfume, Sephora it is. Oh and one of the ladies, that completely ignored me and tried to hook another customer, one who was just passing by to et something and I suppose, she was about to purchase it but didn't. I had gone to Sephora and had questions about Clinique products and of course they didn't know a thing. Then I had remembered how great and full of knowledge the Clinique counter was previously at Macy's so I went there instead. The darling woman, named Stephanie who had helped me before was there. Went there today to buy cologne, 4 sales people behind the counter, one talking to a couple about a subject absolutely not related to the purchase of a cologne, 2 talking to each other pretending to be busy, and the fourth is ringing up a bunch of kids cloths for a customer at a cologne counter. My wife is disabled, standing patiently using a cane. Without assistance, I made a choice on which cologne I want to buy out of consideration to my wife. A 5th sales person comes from the women's perfumes section to help us, I told him I just want to pay for the cologne and leave, he placed the cologne in line behind the customer with children clothing. Waited for another 10 minutes then finally gave up and left. I felt like I have to beg for them to take my money so I can buy their product, NOT IN A MILLION YEARS. I will never go back to that store with this type of customer service. I was so disgusted. Some of the employees there don't belong in a retail store. read more

I'm really disappointed at this store. I came in to purchase a pair of jeans. Of course associates were too busy talking so I let them finish their conversation. I was ignored and once they saw I was standing at the register was asked "oh, you want to make a purchase?" Ah no I'm just here to just waste my day? Which was screaming in my head. There is a lack of good customer service and it shows. Seems like the store is simply stocked but not full. Stuff is everywhere and very little places to even pay. They have removed a lot and added well what seems big nothing. This was my favorite place to shop at but now to find another store. read more

I always have a hard time finding a flattering fragrance for myself. Dorine and Mae, at the fragrance counter, were absolutely amazing in helping me find the best one for my body chemistry. Dorine (hope I'm spelling her name properly) went out of her way to show me all of the most divine scents of the summer. I asked for a fragrance that would make me smell "expensive". She so eloquently described each perfume and made me feel so pampered and important. I found a Gucci fragrance that I couldn't have picked out myself and was exactly what I was looking for. I was going between Chanel and Gucci. I bought the Gucci and she sent me home with a Chanel sample so I could have my cake and eat it too. Thank you for blessing me with this upper echelon experience. So impressed. Will always make my purchases when they are working! Thank you! read more

I had taken advantage over the weekend and shopped one of Macy's great sales. I've shopped here for years but generally only when the markdowns were significant. During my latest outing I had purchased some new dress shirts, slacks and a pair of shoes but when I arrived home and tried a pair of the slacks on I noticed they were a bit too tight. Two days later I finally found the time to take them back for an exchange. It was getting late, about 8:30, when I entered the store. I immediately made my way to the formal wear department which luckily for me, had returned to a lesser state of disaster compared to my Sunday evening visit. I was able to find two replacement pairs of slacks by the same designer with relative ease...although I did notice many of the styles were mixed and could be found spread over several racks. I then made my way to the checkout counter where I interacted with Daniel. I was a little worried that I was going to have a mess on my hands with the exchange as I had removed the tags on one pair of slacks when I tried them on and had misplaced my receipt...from the beginning I already had two strikes against me. It was no problem though as the clerk was able to find my previous transaction using my bank card. He returned the two pairs without any fuss. When the clerk rang up the new slacks I immediately noticed they were no longer at the sales price and had nearly doubled in price. I alerted the clerk but it was no sweat as he immediately clarified that he would still honor the sale price I had paid. A few seconds later and he was placing my items in the bag and I was headed out the door. I have been in the same retail store under similar circumstances and have had problems in the past, so this experience was definitely a pleasant visit.
