I never thought I'd ever write a review about Macy's but here we are. Not going to lie...this place rocks! The staff is always super friendly and professional. There's a huge selection of clothes, shoes, fragrances etc and often on sale! There is absolutely no pressure to buy anything from the staff (I'm a fan of that). I'll leave you with this...if you're looking for a place to that treats you right and has competitive prices you can't go wrong with Macys. Stop by and see for yourself. I said what I said! You can't make this stuff up folks! I was just approached by a woman in the bed-matress-furniture dept up here on the 3rd floor and was asked to leave since I had "was seen sitting for too long and obviously not buying anything". Nevermind the fact that my mother and I spend thousands annually with the brand, and at this location in particular-(see my previous reviews here particularly the one where I dropped $300 plus on that new Channel Blue) not too long ago! No wonder why they're reviews and stars here so low. While the cologne Dept is staffed with pros, the furniture- bedding and mattress department leaves a lot to be desired-unless of course this timeline or deadline is to how long someone can stay seated is written into policy. I proceeded to make my way downstairs within another department entirely to ask about talking to a manager. Within less than ten minutes a Manager named Terry (female) came down to listen to my complaint, and informed me that she would have a "talk with the individual in question"-whatever that entails. I asked the manager wether or not there was an official Macy's policy that gave staff or associate's of Macy's (particularly within the mattress or furniture department) the ability or authority to actually TIME how long said person can be sitting at or within the furniture department and whether or not the staff had the authority to ask them to leave kindly or otherwise-she indicated there was in fact no such policy. I'll be reaching out to Macy's Corporate come this Monday to follow up-and ensure that no such policy exists, and just what the boundaries or limitations are going forward to save other people the awkwardness and embarrassment of having to get up and move off the furniture- particularly when all they were going to do was to be seated for a few more minutes anyways. I really like this Macy's. The ease of parking at the Manhattan Beach Village is a pretty easy, just drive to the north end, parking spots are easy to find. The store is clean. The staff, friendly and helpful. The fine jewelry department is vast. I have purchased diamond earrings with great discounts with my Macy's credit card. The closest Macy's to my home is the Century City one and I really don't like that parking garage, so driving the extra few miles here is my preference! read more

This Macys is seldom crowded and I can find what I'm looking for here. The client specialists are friendly and willing to help. I was looking for for a particular item in my size. They didn't have it in the store at this location so I ordered I ordered it and had it delivered here. My order came fast. Once I arrived to the store there were long lines to pick up my order. The young lady greeted me and ask for the confirmation of my order was delivered which is a bar code. She promptly came back with my package and said have a wonderful!! Today was my first time visiting the Macy's in this area, and I was surprised to see that the Black Friday sale had already started. Because the sale began earlier than I expected, I ended up purchasing several items. When I brought everything to the counter, I was helped by Audrey, an elegant Black woman with the warmest smile. From beginning to end, she kindly answered all my questions and was incredibly pleasant to interact with. This store has the worst management ever. You can never find anyone to assist you. I went in to return a purse I had purchased at another Macys. I could not find anyone to help me. It appeared that the only employees were in Fragrances and Makeup. Several customers from other departments were looking for help. I finally noticed that the one employee in Shoes was ringing up clothing and taking returns. So instead of making a purchase I just did the return. The employee was very courteous. Management, you are probably cutting back on payroll because sales are falling BECAUSE NO ONE CAN GET ASSISTANCE. I would give one star, but the employee I did fine deserved better. read more

The manager at the customer service desk ( Tall African lady no name tag) was extremely rude and unprofessional. I had a return and stood in line for over 9 min while she was chit chatting with another sales rep. I asked hi can I get help, she rolled her eyes and said come on. Immediately saw my receipt and said you need to go to Culver city where it was purchased. Why would I have to go there? I asked, I've never been turned away much less sent to store of purchase. Item was new with tags and I had my receipt! She was just so rude and snatched the receipt from my hand. Such an inconvenience and had to drive out to Culver City Macys simply because miss thing didn't want to process the return for me. I've worked retail and I'm assuming she didn't want her numbers to drop. Culver City processed the return with no problem. Never shopping at Manhattan again! She truly left a nasty taste in my mouth especially because it's my home store! Sham on you. Please retain management, show they customer services skills and how to treat people like human beings. Because of covid, I try to eliminate any un necessary visit for my shopping habits. I ordered something online and I truly cannot remember what and I can't find amy email or my order number. My wife was purchasing a few items at the store, and she paid for her items. And then I met her at the parking lot, and then this Asian security guard was over there asking to go through her bags. Bought a very expensive mattress /box spring a few days ago and the employee Lorena said to pick up whenever I needed it would be ready for me. I Show up 4 days later to pick it up after renting a truck . No employees near sight. 15 minutes later the store is gonna close & I finally find someone to contact The manager !!! When she comes she tells me nothing is ready we need to call within 24 hours before coming . Mind you the employee I bought it from told me it was wrapped and ready to go whenever I needed, to bring my receipt and it would be given to me right away. I have a gift card I received from my sister for Christmas and had a hard time redeeming it therefore I went to the store and they told me to call the 800 number in the back of the gift card. After speaking to customer service they told me I have to go to the store to get a new card???!!!! Wow!!!! This is after customer service told me at the store said they couldn't help me. MACY'S - MANHATTAN VILLAGE (Manhattan Beach, CA) Really want to give them a ZERO. My boss gave me a necklace for Christmas. I wanted to exchange it. She wrote a note on the box saying that the salesperson forgot to give her a gift receipt, but, if I wanted to exchange/return it the tags should suffice. Prior to going to the Manhattan Village store I looked up the policy for exchanges and returns w/out a gift receipt so I knew it could be done with an email address and/or phone number. I spoke with Elizabeth in the fine jewelry dept. She looked at the necklace as well as the note and told me there is nothing she can do. I asked her to look up the purchase and she said she couldn't. I once again showed her the note and the policy and she said "I'll get a manager". The manager (middle-aged blond woman whose name I did not get) came over with an already made up mind and said "we can't do anything with that". I explained the situation and she couldn't have cared less. She literally said "we don't know who wrote that note or why" and then they both just stared at me so I showed her my receipts for other purchases including another necklace that I had just spent $900 for as well as the other necklace which was a gift from my son also w/out the secondary tag that she claimed MUST accompany all purchases. I told her if the secondary tag must accompany all purchases then Macy's needs to inform their associates of that fact because as much as I shoppED there it is hit and miss if they put that second tag on purchases. I showed her my emailed receipts for all of the purchases I made during this Christmas shopping season and she just stared at me. I then said since there will be no customer service for me today, I will make sure to never shop here again and she said "okay". I came home and gathered up every purchase that I had not already given as gifts as well as the items I purchased for myself, I put the receipts and the items in bags and I will be returning them within the next couple of days. I also informed my boss that I will be giving the necklace back to her (and why) and told her to get her money back and I don't ever want another gift from Macy's ever again. THERE IS NO WAY THAT I WILL BE (OR HISTORICALLY HAS BEEN) THE ONLY PERSON WANTING TO EXCHANGE AN ITEM WITHOUT A GIFT RECEIPT AND SHE SAID THERE IS NOTHING MACY'S CAN OR WILL DO TO ASSIST THOSE CUSTOMERS? I've always enjoyed shopping at this Macy's at the Village. Even despite being less than a week before Christmas you can still shop without being asses to elbows, find parking (kudos by the way on the newly opened parking structure), and always friendly sales associates. My last visit was no exception except, for years now we've been enjoying the Macy's "Believe" Christmas campaign. We bought the movie, the book and every year before our annual visit to see Old Saint Nick, we stop into Macy's to "mail" our letter to Santa in the special "Believe" mail box stations. You could pen a letter and place it in the special Red Mail Box that went straight to the North Pole. We were sadly disappointed that Manhattan Beach Macy's didn't have a "Believe" mail box when Macy's is still doing the campaign. On top of the wonderful tradition, Macy's also donates $1 for every Santa letter recurved to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. So total bummer Manhattan Beach Village Macy's didn't participate this year. But great job on the remodel and parking structure, now get back to the traditions! read more

YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2018 - PART 2: 16/100 I dropped by their home store to see what kinda deals they got. So much better than the last Macy's store I went to! And so much more alive! They had plenty of customers, not a lot of empty spots or wide spaces (every corner had at least some kind of product for sale) and CLEAN.
