This is strictly for the mattress department and delivery service. I bought a mattress a week ago and asked the sales clerk to let them know that I can only do deliveries during the week and between 8am and 1pm. She advised me that she would put that in the notes. The day before my delivery I received a call stating my delivery was between 3:15-5:15. I immediately told them I couldn't do that and only the times between 8am and 1pm and they said they could not give me a morning time. They stated they could tell me what days they have available and the day before is when I would find out if I got a morning time or not due to my zip code. So basically I would continue to wait on my mattress being delivered until I was lucky enough to get a morning time for my mattress to be delivered. I spoke to four different supervisors and Jim (the manager at Macy's mattress department) and nobody and I mean nobody could help me or even accommodate me. As a customer I don't feel like I was too much to request a morning/early afternoon time. I wasn't demanding a set time nor was I being unreasonable. Highly disappointed in the service I have received, especially from the customer service mattress department and especially their delivery department. If you are smart you will take your money and time to other places like Ashley furniture or Living Spaces where they actually accommodate you on delivery time frames and don't treat you like crap. read more

After going to 3 other Mac counters and getting told they wouldn't be able to help me get my makeup done, i went into Macy's and found that they had a Mac counter! Meagan took care of me and was so kind, patient and talented! I was able to get my makeup done for an important event with no rush and feeling so special. After my experience here I can now understand my major retailers like Macy's are going under. I received a coupon from Macy's in the mail for 10% off my purchase. Excited to receive this, coupon I headed over to Macy's and picked out approximately $100 worth of merchandise. When I got to the check stand the clerk said the coupon I had would not work with my items (they were not clearance or a hot buy or anything!) anyways so the clerk called the manager who would not come down and talk to us!!! After 20 minutes of waiting for Gloria the manager and the clerk calling her 5 times (I am not exaggerating!) the clerk gave me the discount... ummmm if it was that easy then why did I have to wait around causing a scene for 5 minutes. Side note while I was waiting for the manager, that never showed up LOL, a man came to pay for his items with the same mailer coupon and he too was unable to use it. Why send out coupons if you won't let customers use them? I wouldn't have came in here to begin with, nor spend $100 if I did not have a coupon. read more

I like how after you check out they come around the desk and give you your items. It is not something I am used to, but it is a nice extra. The fitting rooms are never patrolled so you can bring in you 10 shirts and 10 pairs of pants without having to leave some outside the room. With 2 small childeren I am on a time schedule for trying stuff on and browsing. So it is like pile it up and 10 seconds for each item in the dressing room before the melt down begins. read more

Pretty much the only Macys I go to. The other Macys I've gone to, never have new stuff & they're just pretty bad (clean wise and order). This one has wide variety of things to choose from (I shop in the juniors part) and there's always something new. The only thing I'd have to complain about is the bathrooms. This review is for Macy's in general. So you get these supposed great coupons in the mail that seem like a great deal 25% off or $10 off if you spend $30 or more, the problem is every time I try and use them they are never accepted for what I am purchasing and the items aren't even sale items even though they say they can be used on regular and sale items. It's such a gimmick. I wish I had never got the Macy's credit card. I would close it out if it didn't affect my credit score so now I just have to throw it in a draw since I won't use it ever again or until Macy's goes out of business. I'm not the only customer that has this same gripe-they would be better just not offering any coupons rather than alienating all their customers. read more

This store has beautiful merchandise but the customer service is awful. The fitting rooms are filthy and run down with terrible lighting. The salesperson that was working in the shoe department (because there was virtually NO ONE else working a cash register on the entire floor) was NOT knowledgeable about Macy's credit card rewards - and did not feel inclined to find out - and then proceeded to leave the sensor on the clothing, which required a return trip to the store to find 15 people waiting in the line with the ONE person who was standing at a check out station. Ridiculous. It is unfortunate that this store has gone downhill so much. I wish I could give it zero stars. read more

They have great items and you can get really good deals on a lot of the items marked down in the clearance section. They're located conveniently in the mission Viejo mall right near the parking structure.....that's about as good as it gets. The customer service here is not good! I needed to do a return/exchange and I had to search everywhere to find an employee to help me! When I finally did find someone, they told me I was in the wrong section and they couldn't look up the price for my item. Whatever. I was in that department because that was the only place where I could find an employee...it would be nice if customers didn't have to roam the whole store looking for someone to help them. The sizes here are a mess, it seems like they just throw the clothes on the rack in no particular order. The dressing rooms have clothes piled up and they don't have anyone monitoring them. I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars because they do have great clothes. If they had better customer service and a more organized layout, I would give higher stars! read more

You know, I like Macy's prices. Their product quality (as distributors is decent) but wow, this location is a little depressing. Every store clerk was on their cell phone. Every single one. I went in to buy a bed; prepared to spend a few grand. It was all the guy could do, to look up from his cell phone. The sales lady who was with him... on her cell phone. All the make up and perfume ladies, on their cell phones... it was just, depressing. I'll still shop at Macy's because their quality/price is in there but... yuck. I really like the Macy's in Mission Viejo, perhaps better than any other Macy's in Southern California. It is well stocked, and has a great selection of clothes. Recently I have been very busy and have started buying online. They have more selection online than the stores and greater discounted sales. You also have access to the inventory of all the Macy's stores in US. But of course you have a lot of returns, since many may not fit right or look as good as the pictures. But they have a flexible return policy and it works fine. I hope they continue to thrive, do well and not go out of business like many other clothing stores. read more

I don't know who these people are that work in the furniture department but they are completely useless. I understand Macys.com & the actual store are two different entities in the sense of inventory. I printed out an item I was interested in the hopes that they would either have something similar in the store or be able to order it for me. Why didn't I just order online you wonder? Well, I had a furniture voucher that was expiring & from my understanding it could only be used in store. Needless to say, as I walked up to the customer service desk they all looked like they didn't want to be bothered. I showed the guy what I was interested in & he quickly said we can't to that & was getting ready to walk away. Your job is in sales & customer service. An appropriate response should have been "I'm sorry we're unable to do that but here are some other options for you". As the customer I shouldn't have to ask questions to prompt you to help me! I am a college student currently working at this excuse for a retail establishment. The managers are completely disorganized and would not give you the time of day to talk with you about your schedule even if your life depended on it. It's not in the least bit a pleasant place to work at. Most of my co-workers are in the midst of a mid-life crisis and are jealous of me because I'm still young, still in school, and still have the chance for a future that does not involve working full-time in a shitty retail environment. And please, do not read this the entire time and think to yourself, "Well then, why don't you go find another job if you hate it so badly?" TRUST ME, I'VE TRIED. Plus, I figure at my age and level of professional skill/experience, I would basically end up doing the same exact thing, working in some dump, earning minimum wage, hating it, if I were to go out and find an equally disgusting job. So, all in all, it would be a complete waste of time to go and find another job. I could write books upon books about the horrendously ridiculous antics customers pull on a minute to minute basis at this place. See, I am a fitting room associate, which some would say is easy work, and at times, I will admit, it can be, but for the most part, it's complete and utter misery. Shoppers will leave their trash behind in the fitting rooms for us fitting room girls to pick up, and when I say trash I mean, USED TAMPONS, USED DIAPERS, USED KLEENUX. COME ON PEOPLE. GOD FORBID YOU COULD HAVE AT LEAST SOME CLASS. SOME GROWING KNOWLEDGE OF HOW THE WORLD ACTUALLY WORKS AND THAT WE'RE NOT SITUATED ON SOME DUMP SITE WHERE YOU CAN JUST DROP YOUR SHIT ON THE FLOOR FOR OTHERS TO PICK UP WHEN EVER YOU PLEASE. God forbid this is how some people deposit trash in and around their own homes. Not only will shoppers trying on clothes have the nerve to leave their childrens' excremental feces, used female hygienic products, but will once after trying on their clothes, WILL LEAVE THEM UNFOLDED/INSIDE-OUT/ON THE GROUND FOR US TO PICK UP/HANG/FOLD. This is something that probably drives me a litte more nuts than the fact that we have people living on this planet that will leave their poop in a department store fitting room. It is common knowledge that it is considered COURTEOUS to bring your clothes out to the fitting room worker for them to put back/sort, or you could even put them back out on the floor where you yourself found them! WHAT A CONCEPT! Grow some back bone people. And not only do we fold and hang up your left-behind, tried on clothes, we sort them, and then once their sorted after some hours of tedious of just standing their and organizing each piece of clothing, brand by brand, WE PUT THEM BACK FOR YOU SO YOU CAN TAKE THEM ONCE AGAIN, TRY THEM ON, AND THEN LEAVE THEM SCATTTERED ALL OVER THE FITTING ROOMS FOR US TO PICK UP. It's a never ending circle. SO NOW YOU SHOPPERS HAVE SOME HINT AS TO WHY WE EMPLOYEES ARE SO "RUDE" TO YOU. It is merely a reaction to how disgusting and RUDE some of YOU are. OH and most of the "questions" you ask are completely stupid. For instance, "Do you work here?" as I'm at a folding table, folding the mess you or one of your peers left, wearing all black with a name tag that says MACY*S ON IT. NO I DON'T WORK HERE. I'M JUST FOLDING THESE JEANS FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE. And other questions like, "where are the restrooms?" "where is the men's/children's department?" "bathrooms?" "JEGGINGS?" DO ANY OF YOU HAVE AT LEAST SOME AMOUNT OF COMMON SENSE LEFT? OR HAS IT ALL VANISHED? I'm guessing it has, considering that you ask us questions that could be answered by simply READING THE DIRECTORY, instead of having us drop everything that we're doing to answer your dumb ass question and give you our full attention, like an adult would give to a BABY. OH, and next time you decide to come on over to Macy's with your snot nosed kids who will scream their heads off at their own will, TRY AND DISCIPLINE THEM SO THE REST OF US DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOUR KID'S EAR PIERCING SCREAMS AND SHRILLING CRIES FOR ATTENTION. THAT WOULD BE REALLY THOUGHTFUL OF YOU. In conclusion, I have battled my way for a solid year and three months to not let this job turn me into an ugly person. But, when you're working in such a place where ugliness is all around, it's rather hard to not succumb to it and get sucked into a hole of wanting to kill yourself every now and then. And mostly because of how thoughtless and completely oblivious people are to how employees work for you so you can buy goods for yourself and your family that you really don't even need in the first place. Had to return/exchange an item purchased at another Macy's. Anna, our sales rep (men's jeans dept) was extremely helpful in working with us to find the right men's t-shirt for an exchange. We drove her crazy but she never once gave up on us. We finally got the right item, she handled the exchanged very easily and then suggested a pair of men's jeans to complement the t-shirt. Great idea!! She worked with us and when we could not find the right size, she ordered it for us. Anna is one of the reasons we love to shop at Macy's Mission Viejo Mall. read more

I hate to leave this tip but..... I use the personal shopper, Lucille, at Macy's in Mission Viejo. It's great to have personal service and she does not push you into buying anything. Great service, always helpful and, if you become a regular shopper like me, you can call her directly and ask her to find and hold an item for a day or two. There are other perks but I'm not willing to share them as after writing this review, she might not be able to accommodate my frequent requests if she is inundated with new customers! She will also go to the Men's shop as well as home goods to assist you with appliances, furniture, linens..... It took me a day to find her but it was worth it (her office is in Petites). I might have to remove this review if she gets to busy to take my next call! read more

this review is just for a furniture purchase. I recently bought a sectional and they made it super easy and pressure free. I stopped in about 10 days ago and as soon as I reached the furniture department I was greeted warmly by the sales guy. He showed me some non-leather sectionals with power recliners (I hate leather). When I plopped myself down on one he answered all my questions but never once pressured me to purchase. Since I was unsure (this was my first stop and wanted to check out Ashley Furniture- which was the worst idea ever). I left but returned the next day after being totally turned off by other furniture stores. Same sales guy was there and I was in and out in about 5 minutes with a delivery date for a week later. The day before delivery I got a confirmation email with a 2 hour delivery window. The morning they showed up in the promised time and "rolled out the red carpet". 3 guys, all super friendly and professional. They carried every piece up my pain the butt angled stairs quickly and with no scuffing of the walls. This was a great experience and I'm loving the new couch. read more

Macy's Mission Viejo made things right. The store manager contacted me immediately. I sent my daughter over to the store, and the acting manager gave my daughter and her husband a full cash refund for all of the items returned that were delivered from the Macy's wedding gift registry. The acting manager said they don't usually do that, but since we were promised the cash refund (instead of a store credit), she did. What I still don't understand is why they wouldn't give a full cash refund for items verified as purchased (and delivered) from the wedding registry in their store. If someone purchases a gift from the store, it is returnable for cash. Why shouldn't the wedding gift registry do the same. Otherwise, what is the incentive to purchase through the registry. This seems to be an extremely poorly designed policy. read more

Here is my story...while shi\opping on Black Friday with packages from another store in tow, I went over to Macy's to buy some boots. My daughter put down our bag of presents and walked around looking for boots for me, well, someone picked up our bag. We panicked as we had just purchased $200 worth of clothes for cousins and neices. We asked all the clerks and no luck. We wnet up to the customer service offices and met Michael, he did not even hesitate to try to make up for our loss, he reached into his pocket and started to write out macy's dollars in sympathy for our loss. As luck would have it. security found our bag and we were thrilled to have our purchases back. BUT this is where it gets exciting...He felt so bad for us and already wrote my name on some Macys money that he said, " I want to make your day even better, please take these and go buy yourself something here for your inconvenience! I've been a Macy's member for 26 years. However , the store offer me no interest for at least 1 year. I took advantage of the offer and bought a $ 2,000 leather couch (deferred for one year without interest) not knowing that after one year I still have a balance left of $400.00. I received my account statement on mail. To my surprised, I have to pay extra $ 397.00 interest charge which totals to $897.00. I immediately called customer service and I asked why I'm getting charged that much when the remaining balance is only $400. The interest rate will only affect the remaining balance as far as what I knew about the deal. They told me that I have to pay the balance in full or else I'll pay the extra $ 397 interest charge as part of the deal. I was deceived by the sale pitch. So I decided to pay the remaining $ 400 and asked them to closed my account ASAP. Twenty six of membership down the drain. Goodbye Macy's! It's your loss not mine. I couldn't give 0 . One is far more than they deserve. On Labor Day my husband and I bought a new mattress with help from his dad. This luxury is something we cannot afford on our own but is a necessity due to my bad back . We were told the mattress would be delivered on Friday between 10:15 and 12:15. It never came but my husband made way for it by clearing out our old mattress. So now we have no mattress . We called and we were told that it was a mistake on their end . And the order was NEVER processed. Ummmm how does that happen ??!? We made countless calls all day to no avail. Now after a night of sleeping on a floor we are told that they don't usually have eastern king mattresses on the east coast and it won't be until Thursday because there are none of the mattresses we ordered in the warehouse ! Seriously ! What?! And they only want to give us 10% off! They said we could get a mattress by tomorrow that was lower quality for the same price by tomorrow .... Ummm no thanks. They also said we could get a cal king for the same price .... But then we wouldn't be able to move in our room . We spent a lot of time picking this mattress out and thought about this huge financial decision for a while. This is not the way you treat any customer ! I bet if I had bought a 5,000 $ mattress I wouldn't have been treated this way ! HORRIBLE service ! SORRY excuses ! Get your job done right ! Do not buy any furniture from Macy's ! Take your business elsewhere ! Just an FYI to the poor executive that may receive this review we were saving our money to buy a couch and a headboard .... NOT buying those items from you anymore .
