2 stars bc my root beer hit the spot. LOL I was overcharged twice. After the first correction, I just considered the second a tip. I also wasn't able to get a receipt after asking. Mind you, she was very nice and I could tell she was doing her best. However an $18 brisket entree would be $30 when charging for 2 sides! I think we can all agree that that is outlandish. I had a late lunch here today and I felt terrible for the one employee who was working by herself! She had to take orders, answer the phone and cook all the food By Herself! The dining room was closed but there was a few people sitting in there (not sure who they were). It took almost 30 minutes for her to cook chicken nuggets and a pulled pork sandwich. The food was just OK but this poor employee was trying her best. I even offered to help her! Also the building is falling apart and there was garbage all over. Amazing Philly cheesesteak browned on the grill with a big wedge of cheese stuck to it, along with onions and peppers on a toasted roll with hot salty fries sitting next to it. My partner had the barbecue pork which was tender in your mouth and Just enough smoky sauce to make it perfect. The fresh looking coleslaw was a surprise find in this neck of the woods. We stopped here for lunch after our trip to Bushkill Falls. We had hoped there might be seating behind the restaurant by the water but the only seating was out front by the busy road. The music outside and inside was so loud you couldn't have a conversation with anyone. It was explicit- not kid friendly at all. We waited a very long time for our food to come out and it was hit or miss. The fried catfish and cuban sandwich were good, but burgers, fries, and wings were not. The bathroom was dirty. If you are coming with kids and don't want to be waiting around forever, I'd skip this place. read more

In the area on vacation and stopped for some icecream. The service was absolutely horrible! I would fire that person today. Positive, they serve Hershey Icecream. Unfortunately my mint chocolate somehow tasted like peanut butter. Looked in on the "restaurant" side, nothing about the place would make me want to go in. Tacky with records on the wall and nothing that says desert shop. And the final nail for them is simply the location. Food was a solid 5-star. Excellent customer service. Was a bit pricey for what we are used to but would recommend and will definitely be going back. We had a flat brisket, it's lit burger, and chicken tenders - all with fries. Also had ice cream and drinks but no pics of those. The brisket had amazing depth of flavor. Bold and perfect. The Mac n cheese on the it's lit burger was deliciously cheesy, and the combo with the blue cheese was perfectly creamy. Eat here!!! Between the Snake and Animal Farm and the River Rafting is an unassuming place that looks like any ice cream and hamburger joint. Instead is a funky little place that brings a level of artistry to quick food. The Chicken fingers are seasoned like crazy and the burgers are hand shaped like your mom is back there in the kitchen telling you that you dont need any McDonald's (Eddie Murphy stand up reference). Then the desserts! The chocolat ganache was amazing and I guess the cobbler was good as my kids ate it without giving me any. The owner is super nice and comes out to check on folks and warm up at the gas fireplace in the dining room. I came to the spot two times. The first time I ordered food that they didn't have. (Mexican street corn and the Jerk Corn) Instead of checking before taking my money, I was told that the item Was unavailable. One of the two men said, he couldn't give me a refund but, he would substitute my money with a food item. I had the Buffalo loaded fries and my friend ordered a burger. She liked her food. Owner Shaina Hayden was a top 10 chef in Gordon Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen competition a few years ago (season 16), and the Poconos are lucky to have such a gem! Warmly greeting us upon arrival, we sat in comfortable chairs in the dining room and listened to smooth jazz during our meal. I devoured every scrumptious morsel on my plate of pulled pork barbecue, baked beans, and cole slaw. The barbecue melted in my mouth with just the right amount of spicy and sweet. The beans were flavorful and resplendent of ground beef mixed-in. Creamy cole slaw with just the right amount of carrots to color this cabbage dish complemented the meal. A fellow diner enjoyed a hamburger and french fries, while another friend ate macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and baked beans. Menu choices are plentiful and reasonably priced. We stopped in for a quick dinner and my girfriend is gluten-free so we were asking about options for what she could eat safely. The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful and ran back to the kitchen several times to talk to the chef. Finally the chef came out and talked to us. He came up with a dish on the spot that would meet her needs. He brought out a catfish filet sautéed with collard greens, mango chutney and a sour cream sauce. It was amazing and worth the effort. Now, the food... the food was sumptuous! The menu is simple, deceptively elegant, and specialized. The food is filling, homey, and delectable. The only detriment I found was the pricing. The cost is a bit expensive. I am not, by any means, saying the food/experience isn't worth it, but if you go, be prepared to pay $20-$25 per person for lunch and ice cream. I've had this kind of burger before but this was a different hit! So delicious. I also dipped it in the house made tarter sauce .... too good! The jerk corn is a must , I had 3 pieces all together, need I say more. The chef is very kind and seeks to serve her customers above and beyond. Hence , my vegetable fettuccine Alfredo mix. That was my to go and it left me wanting to go back for more! I could go on and on because the food was really good. Rarely do I ever not have food pics but everything was so good and GONE before I got to the pics . Next time I will have pictures I promise, because I will be back ! This place has been opened since April or May (can't recall which month the owner said...I know she said she had her Grand opening in June), but that's not important,what is important is that IT'S HERE ,& I hope this area will whole hardly support this establishment. The food is beyond excellent and the service is impeccable. Our server Jessica tells you right up front that every order is made fresh. So don't be in a hurry. My wife & daughter had the philly cheese steak & my grandson had the catfish basket. My wife also had the waffle sweet potato fries. We were told they were in the process of putting sweet tea on the menu. My family and I ate here on 6/17. Love family run businesses. They made us feel welcome and right at home. They were very attentive and engaging. My wife, father and sister in law had the baller burger and all said it was the best burger they had ever had. I tasted it and I would agree.
