I got the Wings (lemon pepper) and Fish (tilapia) Dinner without fries. It came with "two pieces" of tilapia and five wings. I knew I would be paying full price for the meal even though I opted not to take the fries. (I'm not much of a fry guy). But I didn't expect the two pieces of tilapia to be two halves of one whole piece. Definitely disappointed by that. The employee who took my order was very patient with me as I studied the menu. Maybe I should have asked a question about the portions. Oh well. The wings were outstanding! They were crispy without requesting crispy. They had great lemon flavor that wasn't drowned out by butter. The fish was also good but had nothing on the wings. The fish was fried golden brown and crispy without being dried out. The place has a small dining room where you can dine in but most people in there were just waiting on to go orders. Thanks to Yelp for this gem. I typed in catfish in the search and this was one of the listings. This is not the type of dine in for a date but it is great for take out and chill with Netflix at home. It's located next to a convenient store. The area is somewhat off putting but if you go in the day time and can not judge a book by it's cover you won't be disappointed. The woman (who I think is the owner) was at the front and she was extremely friendly and welcoming. She even helped me decide on my wing flavor. I got the wing combo in honey garlic with fried rice (she did tell me their fried rice is plain) which I was happy for other options for sides other than fries. The rice was good even to be plain, I added soy sauce when I got home to it and it was fine for me. The wings are cooked perfectly very light breading and we're crispy without being over cooked. The honey garlic sauce was excellent with pieces of garlic in the sauce. It was the perfect combination of flavor and textures. I also ordered the catfish with shrimp combo with fries. The fries are plain straight cut (needed some salt but I added that at home) the catfish says 2 pieces but keep in mind it's 1 whole piece cut in 2 which I was fine with but if your very hungry keep that in mind when ordering. The catfish and shrimp were cooked perfectly crispy and the fries were fresh. I could not ask for a better experience or flavor. The catfish came with their homemade hot sauce, they have 2 versions, hot and hot hot lol I got the milder of the 2 and it was still very hot. If your a fan of heat you will like their hot sauce. My chicken came with ranch and any extra sauces are an additional charge which considering prices now is reasonable. I also had an appetizer of the corn nuggets which we cooked crispy with powdered sugar. Over all this is a solid spot for some good eats. I went to this place for the first time on this week. The place was dirty and the ownership was completely rude. I had a call on order for $72 dollars worth of food. They told me 30 minutes. I got there in 35 minutes and she's calls are leaves a voicemail saying you need to pick up your food now. I did not hear the VM until after I left. Nonetheless, as I am checking to see if my order was correct, I told her I did not receive and condiment suck as cocktail sauce nor tartar sauce. She them tell me in a completely rude fashion that you have to pay for condiments because they don't come with the platter. I then asked her why she was being so rude. This is my first time here how am I supposed to know that. She the. Throws the condiments on the bag. As I was leaving I said to myself why am I support a business that clearly thinks I'm not worth it. So I turned around went back in and got my money back. Perhaps I don't like whiting in general or it was a bit old and too thinly cut. I looked up whiting and it says it is a mild flavored fish. This was anything but mild and the pieces were very think which made it dry. The shrimp was ok but also, I think, a bit over cooked and very little flavor. The fries were crispy but not very flavorful. The slaw was my favorite part of lunch! It was rough chopped and had a great flavor! Also, I asked for extra tartar sauce since there was just one small container. I was told it would be 50 cents so I passed. There is a variety of flavors that you can choose from ranging from your classic buffalo to my favorite lemon pepper. You can get a combo with the choice of french fries or fried rice. Most everything is fried but what I will say is it tastes like someone takes care of the fryers there. Food tastes like the oil is kept up and not just a free for all fry hole in the kitchen. The fish is breaded lightly, the menu is pretty wild because of the owners (Korean/black couple). Everything can be served with rice in lieu of fries. I think they used to be cheaper but the food is still in the decent value range. Not really anything bad to say about the place. I don't think it's worth driving across town for; that being said though, If you find yourself passing by its worth a visit.
