I had lunch at Mad Dash the other day for the first time, and I was impressed. I had the mushy goat sandwich: Roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, arugula, goat cheese, and horseradish aioli on sourdough toast. It was absolutely delicious- a perfect combination of ingredients that go very well together. When I ordered, I was surprised when I was told that the sandwich comes with a choice of side. Many places these days charge extra for their sides. I tried the homemade coleslaw. I thought it was pretty good, but a bit under-seasoned. I will probably try the house made chips or onion rings next time. I will probably try a different sandwich as well.. The menu is very creative, and the prices are good. I was told that they are moving a few blocks away, and that the menu will be changing. I am going to try to visit them one more time before they move. I think these were the BEST wings I've ever had. Came here from the spectrum centre just to grab a bite. I got the garlic Parmesan wings and the peach sweet tea. The wings were actually GF no reaction and the tea was so good. The people that work there were super nice and warm. I would like to come back soon to try the tacos. Here is what I liked everything but it had too much goat cheese for my taste - it tasted more like goat cheese sammy with a few mushrooms but still overall it was good. I finally got to try Mad Dash after waiting for forever lol! I was so excited they moved to the Market at 7th Street. I stopped by during Eat BLK CLT Festival and ordered their mambo wings and fries. Both were really good! I definitely want to come back and try a few other menu items for sure. They were super busy so the food took a while to come out. I love that the garage attached to the market validates for 90 minutes. That's always a win while Uptown. There's plenty of tables and seating inside the market too. I appreciate what Chef Corey is doing in the kitchen and the fresh onion rings were enough to make me contemplate slapping my mama. In the last week or so, this place has started blowing up my Instagram feed. I got a recommendation from a trusted friend and decided it was time to check it out. Covid-19: you order and pay online. They are located inside of City Kitch and there's no physical restaurant. I wasn't 100% sure what to do when I got there. I couldn't find a phone number. Luckily, a couple of minutes after I walked inside, they came out with my order. We got the Mushy Goat Melt, Pork Belly Tacos, Thrifty Shrimp Tacos, and Mambo Number Fries. I was blown away by how good everything was. I think the Pork Belly Tacos were my favorite followed by the Mushy Goat Melt, but it's really hard to say. The flavors were amazing. This has got to be one of the best chicken sandwiches in the Charlotte area As a self-proclaimed chicken sandwich connoisseur, I have traveled far and wide to try chicken sandwiches with my wife. Mad Dash is up there with the best of them, and we've had Howling Rays, Dave's Hot Chicken, Fuku, Hot Lola's and more! We opted for the melt instead of the chicken sando, and we were not disappointed! The chicken itself is flavorful and not dry at all. The dash sauce adds a depth of flavor to the sandwich. It's hot but not inedibly so. And best of all, it's only $12 with a side! The Mushy Goat (vegetarian mushroom, goat cheese, and spinach?) sandwich was also a hit. The subtle tang of caramelized onions with the goat cheese and mushrooms is such an amazing combination. We are mushroom lovers, but I think anyone can get down with this! The Mad Dash loaded fries with pork belly were also very good. The dash sauce with the fries is just what the doctor ordered. Top that with some jalapeños and green onions, and you've got a balanced meal! just kidding, but it did make me feel a little better about gorging myself. The pork belly didn't seem to add much depth to the fries, so I'll probably try the Mumbo fries with fried chicken next time.
