The pita madness sauce was like Utah's french fry sauce instead of the refreshing tzatziki greek sauce They should give us the option. I did not like it on the pita. Surprisingly little find for this town. Orders were prepared fairly quickly. I had the spicy chicken dinner platter. If you are worried about this being too spicy, it is not. Nicely seasoned chicken and tons of it too. The Greek salad with a nice addition as well as the hummus and pita. Personally I could've skipped the rice. The Mad Pita Express is a quick & easy place with good food if you're in a jam. We stopped here after passing through town on the way to Zion. I ordered a bowl with spicy chicken and rice with a side order of Greek fries, and my friend got a chicken dinner platter combo. The food was all excellent - both types of chicken were tender, juicy, and flavorful. Fries were crispy but still starchy on the inside, which is definitely a plus. Salad dressing in the salad was tangy that paired with everything else perfectly. My only issue is their menu, which definitely needs some updating. The chicken dinner platter listed in the menu is listed as a pita sandwich, and the worker was definitely confused when we ordered that. She also didn't seem to understand the difference between the combo and platter that is stated on the menu. When the chicken platter came out, it was two skewers with pita slices on the side, not the pita sandwich that I had expected. There were bugs in my pita, a fly and some type of small beetle. I ordered through GrubHub and tried to call Mad Pita multiple times to file a complaint, one time leaving a voicemail. My roommate can call and get someone almost immediately on the phone; however, when I call I ring through to voicemail. So not only are they aware of the issue, they are refusing to resolve it. Mad Pita is legit! We were introduced to this place by a friend who goes every time he is in St. George for pickleball or family reunions. The flavors are on point, the portions are perfect and the location is convenient. Wish they had a Mad Pita near us, but at the same time knowing this is something we look forward to allows the build up to payoff. One disappointment was the charge for extra sauce the last time we went, because they under-sauced last time we had to buy more. The food here is not what I would call authentic Greek food. I don't think you will get sick from it, thus two stars. But the tzatziki has little flavor with no detectable dill or chopped cucumber (though they swear it does have cucumber), the Greek salad has no olives or meat and the dressing is simply a vinaigrette with just enough balsamic for color only- not a Greek dressing. The strips of romaine are cut narrow and long, impossible to keep on the plastic fork provided for eating in the restaurant. We ordered a gyro, Greek salad, falafel, and lemon chicken soup. We took most of it home hoping to "doctor it up", as we were disappointed with the whole thing. The cashier did not offer a refund or substitution when we expressed our disappointment. read more

We had a really nice experience here as we were just passing through St. George looking for a lunch spot to grab a bite. My wife enjoyed a Greek Salad (duh?) and I had a fresh to order lamb gyro. Everything was great, and prepared fresh to order. You get the sense this is a family operation, as our server looked to be very young, and from some of the interactions with what looked like the owner (nice younger woman) a tight knit group. The atmosphere was cafe simple, with nicely arranged tables and chairs. Simple. The food was delicious, and my wife's salad was nicely chilled and my gyro was hot and fresh. It was very refreshing to find a place here in St. George that took pride in their food. The only thing I don't like is that they use styrofoam cups. The system is like fast food: order and pay, then came in 7-8 minutes. Vegetarian options available. Their website was down (404 error). We tried to call a dozen times, but they don't pick up. We went down to order in person. I counted 60 people in the restaurant, every seat filled and every inch of space filled. The room is maybe 25 feet by 15 feet in size. I stood shoulder to shoulder for ten minutes to try to place my order. Less than five people were wearing masks. I could literally feel the breath from the couple standing six inches behind me without masks. I finally left. The restaurant was filthy. Today, the hospital in St. George had tents set up in the parking lot to try to handle all of the dying COVID-19 patients. Four miles down the road, at Mad Pita, it was easy to see why. The restaurant had more people inside than the fire department allows when there is no pandemic. The behavior of Mad Pita is beyond irresponsible. read more

I love Mediterranean style food. We were out of town and hit this joint up for lunch (consistent with our goal to try places we don't have at home). I liked this place and think it is one of the better fast casual Mediterranean places I have been to. I was actually not that hungry so I just ordered a side order of falafel for me. But eating with kids means I was able to sample theirs. It's a nice benefit after shelling out for four kids. Little money pits. Falafel was fried golden brown and had a nice blend of spices and some kick. Served on top of a bed of lettuce and topped with tatziki sauce. A little spendy ($3.70) for what I got (size of falafel was small) but good nonetheless. We got the large hummus platter as an app. Served with pita bread. Pita bread was soft, dense, lightly toasted and warm. Great by itself! Hummus was smooth and not super garlicky and served with a dash of olive oil and kalamata olives. Great stuff. Only wish it came with more pita slices. But the entrees came with pita slices so we appropriated those for the hummus. Kids ordered meatballs and rice kids meals. Impressed with how big the portions are. Meatballs were flavorful, tender, moist and large. Rice was good. Red sauce (kinda like marinara) was good. Good value fo shizzle. My oldest son got the spicy chicken rice bowl. Seasoned and spicy grilled chicken over rice with a good amount of chipotle sauce over it. I don't know the last time I had chipotle sauce at a Mediterranean place but it was still tasty and worth ordering again. Chicken was tender and moist. My wife got the pita platter. Not surprisingly it came with gyro meat, pita slices, rice and salad. Very generous portions. Gyro meat (which I cared about the most) was very good. Nice blend of beef and lamb.
