I'll be honest, "authentic Greek street food in Utah" had me intrigued. I wanted this to be great. Growing up in Maryland, I had Greek friends in high school, so I know the kind of food Greek families can absolutely throw down. Because of that, maybe my expectations were a little high, but this just did not get there. I ordered the souvlaki, and it was the biggest disappointment of the meal. The portion felt light, maybe six pieces of meat, and while the meat itself and the pita were perfectly decent, the sauce was strange and not in a good way. It tasted nothing like what I have had at Greek restaurants, church festivals, or anywhere else Greek food is done right. It threw the whole thing off. The Greek salad was also underwhelming. It was basically cucumbers, small tomatoes, red onion, feta, and house dressing. Simple can be great, but the dressing felt flat and did not bring much flavor to the plate. The surprise star was the fries. Genuinely very good. Crisp, flavorful, and probably the most satisfying thing we ate. The gyro was the best actual entrée item. The meat had good flavor, and I enjoyed it, but even that landed in the "solid, not special" category. Service was another mixed bag. Our wraps came out first, then the salad a couple of minutes later, then the fries another couple of minutes after that. Not a dealbreaker, but it made the meal feel oddly pieced together instead of like a restaurant had the timing figured out. We came in around 2 p.m. on a Sunday, after the lunch rush. There were only two other customers when we sat down, so it was noticeable. By the time we left, the place had filled in some, but it still never felt overwhelmed. One other thing worth mentioning: they were promoting a "leave a review, get a treat" deal, which always makes me a little skeptical when I see a pile of glowing reviews. That does not mean every positive review is fake, but it definitely makes me wonder how candid some of them really are. Overall, this was not terrible, but it was definitely disappointing. When you put "authentic Greek" on the table, I am expecting something with a little soul, a little punch, and a little confidence. What we got was mostly just okay. We stopped by Nick the Greek while visiting family in St. George, Utah. The restaurant was pretty clean, and the staff were friendly. We ordered a Chicken Souvlaki plate with an extra stick of the steak Souvlaki. We also ordered a side of hummus. The chicken was very tender but didn't have a ton of flavor. I had this delivered for my family and I, we all got gyros with fries omg. It was so disgusting none of us could eat it! First of all, we were upset that we ordered the fries on the side (and there was quite literally 6 fries on the side lol) but oh well, get over it. Well the gyros were awful.. drenched in way too much sauce, big chunky undercooked pieces of meat and to top it all off- ice cold?!?! I'm praying we don't get sick. This is after trying to get down a few bites, throwing out the biggest chunks of meat and then deciding to give up on the dinner I just spent a small fortune on! read more

Friendly staff and Great Food! Ordered a Mediterranean Bowl which is not a small dainty bowl. The combination of rice, Souvlaki chicken, veggies, humus and the yogurt sauce had great flavor! Also tried the Loux orange juice drink which reminded me of 1980'-1990's Mandarin Slice but with better/more orange flavor. Finished up with a Honey Baklava froyo. I love Baklava, but this was a tasty treat with just enough honey and Baklava flavor. Love this place and will definitely return. read more

It is ridiculous to have people work for a place when they dont understand English well, TAKING A PHONE ORDER! it was hard to place the order, let alone when picking it up it wasn't quite what I asked for, on top a young punk with an attitude working there, not even knowing the food they serve, he was so out of touch that the ladies preparing the food were rolling their eyes, he was totaly clueless, literally ruined my dinner. We were really happy with our choice to try this place. We were driving through town and looked for decent eats close by and fast. Nicks fit the bill. We ordered gyro, chicken, salad, and an order of hummus. Everything was great and honestly higher quality and better flavor than we expected with the kind of fast food atmosphere the location has. Our only negative was we were so excited to try the incredible looking desserts, frozen Greek yogurt with baklava and honey looked so ok good, but when we ordered they said the machine was being cleaned and was out of order for 30-45 mins. Very unsatisfactory meal here today, really disappointed. 2 adults and 2 kids, we had 1 gyro sandwich, 2 chicken souvlaki plates and 1 kids souvlaki. First off the gyro sandwich came way before the rest, the pita bread was dry and chevy, completely opposite from the fresh moist pita bread that came with the plates. The chicken with the plates were not white meat and had no flavor, the rice was pretty good, the side salads something from a high school cafeteria. On top of this only 2 napkin towers in the whole place and none was given to us with the food. This is the Astro Turf of greek food, green like grass but nowhere near real grass. Omg. We stopped by Nick the Greek while passing through St. George on the way to Las Vegas to grab a quick bite. Don't get me wrong, I'm a chipotle girl myself but now I'm not sure anymore. Nick the Greek blew it out of water with food quality and taste. Simple, clean and most importantly tasty dishes. My mom got lemon chicken soup and simple salad, I got chicken bowl and my dad got gyro. This particular location was super fast in prepping food and was very clean. Person who took our order was also friendly and helped us get a better deal while pairing our dishes as a combo. Everyone in my family walked out delighted and full.
