This time I noticed more hot sauce options on the table, which was fun to try and enjoy with the Mad Seafood sauce. Such a nice friendly restaurant with a very open and clean dining area. The Main Root craft soft drinks are worth trying. The staff will give you their favorites and best mixes that they enjoy. Stopped in to try MAD Seafood after seeing one of their TikToks featuring a platter with 3 pieces of fish, 3 crab cakes, and 3 shrimp, and of course I had to see what the hype was about! We had great service from the moment we walked in. While waiting for our food, I decided to try three of their juices, and they were all delicious. Then the food came out and honestly... it did not disappoint! Everything was so good, and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed the whole experience. Living in Annandale, it's not every day that a non-Asian restaurant opens nearby, so I was especially excited to find a place that we genuinely loved. Apparently, I loved it a little too much because I've now been back once a week for the last three weeks . Each visit I've been branching out and trying different items on the menu, and so far, I've continued to be impressed. There's still plenty I want to try, and now they've recently added new dessert options, so naturally I'm already looking forward to my next visit. I heard about this place from some Yelp Elite friends and decided to give it a try. The restaurant was very clean, nicely decorated, and had a welcoming atmosphere. We felt like getting takeout for the evening, although there were plenty of tables available for dining in. We ordered meals #11 and #12, and they were actually pretty good! The portions were generous, and each meal came with a nice amount of sides. The fish could use a little more flavor and seasoning, but overall, everything was tasty and satisfying. Stopped in today and was immediately greeted. Wanted popcorn shrimp and they came with two sides. I decided on hush puppies and corn on the cob. Several patrons with children were dining in. A staff member was cleaning tables and sweeping. They didn't have any televisions during my first visit but they have two now. The Eagles and Titans are playing. Eagles won. My take-away was brought to the table I was sitting at. Once in my vehicle the delicious seafood aroma was filling the space. Popcorn shrimp (25): piping hot, crispy, juicy, lightly seasoned and delicious; hush puppies (6): piping hot, lightly sweetened, real corn pieces (gotta have that), crispy and moist; corn on the cob: juicy and sweet. I don't know if they listened to me and read my last review, but they now offer whiting, which is generally a wild-caught fish, and two tiers healthier than Swai/Catfish! They do warn you it has bones, and it's not as tasty as Swai, but if you care about health like I do, it's definitely the better pick. The swai is sweeter and juicier, but if you want something wild-caught, has a good omega 3/6 profile, and better for health, definitely get the whiting. I love how they have a grilled option, it's not just a seafood "throw everything in the oil" type of place. With whiting, you can now legit say it's a healthier option you can eat at regularly that is very affordable. It comes with sauteed bell peppers too. I really hope that now that they offer whiting, that folks will get this option more. It's also a great value, you can get several different seafood combinations which comes with a lot of stuff, I got mine with shrimp and crab cakes just now. I will say another improvement that can be made are the sides, but at these prices and value, I can't complain. If they manage to make some bangin' sides to round it all out, I would eat here every week. read more

I saw that this place recently opened and wanted to give it a try. This part of Annandale are mostly Korean restaurants. So I was pleasantly surprised that a seafood place is here. The interior is very nicely decorated. You just place the order and then wait for the food to be cooked. I went with the #12 Mix & Match combo. You get 3 fish, 3 shrimps and 3 crab cakes with 2 side orders. I went with green beans and coleslaw. First, I am truly surprised at the price. It's very reasonable. Second, the fish pieces and shrimps are very well seasoned . I think that's the key. Instead of fry have them grilled instead. Much more flavorful. It is one of those spots where you order, take a number to your table, & they bring your food once it is prepared. It was good service in a clean laidback location with ample parking. For both fish/shrimp/crab cake combo dinners, although we paid extra for the grilled fish and shrimp, we were disappointed the crab cakes arrived deep fried. The grilled fish was very oily. The grilled shrimp and vegetables were overcooked. Although though okra was crispy and tasty, they were coated in too much breading. The hush puppies were tasty but too greasy. We had the fried jumbo shrimp--the fried onion rings and the fried okra--which surpassed the Red Lobster , Kilroy's, Hard Times Cafe, and every other seafood restaurant in the County though they are more expensive and fancier; the shrimp, onion rings and okra were perfectly done, --not overdone--always the case with Hard Times Cafe and Kilroys; same with the fried okra and hushpuppies; very reasonable price, very professional waitress /hostess. Ordered dinner from here last night. Everything was really good and packaged very neatly with sauces. Portions are very generous-the pic of the shrimp is after I got home-I ate half the shrimp on the drive home, oops. I was expecting smaller shrimp for the baby shrimp but they were a decent size and fried perfectly-not too much breading, didn't taste oily,etc. Will definitely be back soon to try out some of the other stuff! I had grilled whiting, green beans, and hush puppies. The grilled whiting is delicious, perfectly flavored and not dry. It has a very mild flavor, which is perfect for my taste. The green beans are absolutely delicious, some of the best I've had at a restaurant. The hushpuppies are delectable, the best I've had in this area. I love the drink selection, which includes Mexican cola. The dining room is immaculate and smells nice. Restrooms reflect the cleanliness of this operation. This will be a regular choice for me! I've been wanting to post this review for a long time. I went to on opening day and it was a complete shame and waste of money even at half price. I was served crabcakes with imperial crab and cold fried shrimp. It's a shame that the corner was available for so long and they put such a terrible establishment. While the name says Seafood, this restaurant has more than just seafood. They also have various chicken dishes as well as a steak and cheese sandwich. They have reasonable prices and combo plates for those who like variety. I got a seafood combo plate and now have enough left over for dinner. We tried this new spit last night. It is bigger inside than it looks from outside. The menu is quite extensive. They have table seating for approximately 30 guests. You order at a counter, sit at a table and food is brought to your table. My wife ordered the catfish grilled. It came on top of a nice garden salad. Three large fillets cooked perfectly. I had the grilled shrimp. Eight, thirty count shrimp cooked very well and nicely spiced. We also asked if they would give us a sampler of some of their appetizers. They provided a nice platter of fried mushrooms, mozzarella, jalapeño coins and pickles. All were very good and not overly "breaded". All their food comes to the table piping hot. Their service is very good served by very nice people who actually smile and look happy. The dining room was very clean but i could see where it could become loud with alot of people.
