    Side Green Beans and Coleslaw
    David L.

I saw that this place recently opened and wanted to give it a try. This part of Annandale are mostly Korean restaurants. So I was pleasantly surprised that a seafood place is here. The interior is very nicely decorated. You just place the order and then wait for the food to be cooked. I went with the #12 Mix & Match combo. You get 3 fish, 3 shrimps and 3 crab cakes with 2 side orders. I went with green beans and coleslaw. First, I am truly surprised at the price. It's very reasonable. Second, the fish pieces and shrimps are very well seasoned . I think that's the key. Instead of fry have them grilled instead. Much more flavorful. I will definitely be back and try the Poboy next time. Everything is perfect and that is all one can ask for.

#3 6 Jumbo Shrimp. Perfectly fried

SO wanted a shrimp po'boy and recommended this new spot. Immediately greeted upon entrance and while reviewing the menu I expressed that I couldn't decide between the red beans and rice and green beans and a gentleman, maybe the owner, offered me a sample. The red beans and rice came out hot and tasted so fresh. The SO stole my sample cup. The SO ordered a shrimp po'boy (comes with six jumbo shrimp) with mac and cheese as his side and I decided on six jumbo shrimp with green beans and hush puppies as my sides. I'm not sure what was here before but the interior is clean and welcoming with lots of natural light. The young man who took our order was patient and read our order back to ensure it was accurate. I appreciated the multiple hot sauce options. Our order came out fresh and hot. We did take-away and everything traveled well. All the food was good. We both enjoyed that the meal didn't weigh us down, even though it was fried, and that everything tasted "clean". I did add Old Bay to my shrimp, seasoning salt to my green beans and a touch of honey to my hush puppies. SO devoured his meal with no doctoring. We will return to checkout some of their other offerings. You can also get your seafood grilled, which is a great option.

Ok had to try on TikTok! food looks amazing and it is!!! Clean sitting area. customer service on point from the person that took my order to the nice guy asked how is it !!!! Fish fresh got catfish not fishy taste!! The grilled fish was the best seasoning on point! Hush puppies average but good! Shrimp on point as well grilled hands down got to be the way to go. Sides Mac cheese average not homemade but not terrible. The red beans rice is sooo worth it.. one the best I have had in long time, for sure homemade. When the guy owner asked me how was it I did make comment about the Mac cheese average. Seconds later he bought me red beans and rice. Going home to my son he got try lol. Try it !!!

    Hush Puppies and fried okra

For both fish/shrimp/crab cake combo dinners, although we paid extra for the grilled fish and shrimp, we were disappointed the crab cakes arrived fried. The grilled fish was very oily. The grilled shrimp and vegetables were overcooked. Although though okra was crispy and tasty, they were coated in too much breading. The hush puppies were tasty but too greasy. The pasta in the mac n' cheese was over cooked. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. The southern cooking style reminds me of a competitor, Milk and Honey.

So let's start off with the reviews are spot on. The building is new and extremely clean. Very great spacing for seating. The service was very welcoming and friendly. Now the food is not greasy at all. The flavors are amazing and the breading was very light. The tomatoes were fresh and not over cooked. The salad extremely fresh and shrimp and fish were seasoned perfectly. Definitely will let my friends know of this place and will come back to try more.

The amount of food was adequate for a party of 5, but I did not leave feeling extremely full. A lot of the raw things were quite fishy and not for my taste. The service was great and it felt like we had the whole entire restaurant rented out because of how empty it was. Not sure if I will be back, but I hope they can pick up some more volume in sales.

The items to put into the hotpot were fine, though we couldn't tell some of the meats apart. The spicy sauces they had at their sauce bar was not spicy at all. They also didn't have sesame oil, which was a bit surprising. The most annoying part was that their credit card machine wasn't working that day, which they never said up front before we started ordering. Overall, it was a fine, middle-of-the-road experience.

I notified our server and he just shrugged "it's been like that". We were the only customers in the restaurant. He was mostly just hanging out by the cashier, he could have cleaned the condiment bar easily. I lost my appetite after seeing the bugs flying around the condiment bar. Even though we were the only people in the restaurant, they did not check on us at all. The table next to us was not cleaned up until an hour after they left. Meat quality is subpar at best. Beef slices are either super fatty or not marbled at all. Each plate of beef tongue looks different, their quality is not very consistent. They used to bring out ice cream with the check, now you have to ask for it. I think the fact that it's not very sanitary sealed the deal for me, there are plenty of places in the area that are much cleaner. It's a bummer because this place used to be so popular (a few years ago, you have to wait 1.5-2 hours to be seated on the weekends), it's so sad that it has fallen off and I truly hope that they can bounce back.

There's no DJ and it's not super crowded, but the music is good and it truly is a place to just drink and hang out with your friends. The food here is actually phenomenal. From skewers to shareables like the potato pancake to entrées like the spicy creamy pasta, I've been very satisfied with it all. But really, what tops the food is the service. A Korean friend also recommended the bossam and skewers, and I'd agree the skewers are worth ordering. Donkatsu was okay, and the kikurage was good but probably only good bc I got the sauce on the side. Overall, a good late-night hangout spot, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way for the food.
