We loved everything we ordered, which included dumplings, ktx chicken (super crispy, excellent gochujang sauce) and the Korean stir fry. Kids loved it too. Corn bread was some of the best ever! I have to admit that when my significant other forwarded the listing for this restaurant, I thought we were going to the park to watch a band play at the band shell! While that might've been fun, that definitely wasn't what I was prepared for. It was much better! West broad bandshell is a very interesting concept, blending soul food and Asian cuisine to create an eclectic butt very engaging menu. We took some family visiting Savannah to West broad bandshell Friday night and had a great time! First, this is a decent sized restaurant with about 8 to 10 tables and because we had a large group of eight people they were able to seat us together towards the front of the restaurant right in front of the stage. Now one thing to note. For groups of six or more they do not split checks and there is an automatic 20% gratuity. In the day and age where date night includes multiple couples hanging out together, I'm always a bit disappointed to see this lack of flexibility. Especially knowing that most digital POS systems are not that difficult to use when splitting a check, but we were able to accommodate that particular wrinkle. Our table started off with cornbread, which is complementary and very tasty. Baked more like a poundcake loaf, it was really tasty with hints of cinnamon and brown sugar. From an entrée standpoint, the menu is really diverse. I ended up ordering the Asian slaw burger, which I know that isn't the name but that's the best way I could describe it. My lady ordered the Korean fried chicken and both entrées were huge but flavorful. We ended up taking so many to go boxes home after this visit. One of the highlights of the night was the live music. What seemingly started off as a single solo Artist performance ended up being a full band performance with a saxophonist, a guy playing a trombone, an excellent keyboard player, and the host doubled as both the drummer and the guitarist. Several people from the audience actually joined them on stage to do various renditions of neo soul, R&B, and popular urban pop. They also took request from the audience in addition to playing original songs so if you are a music lover this is definitely a set you want to check out. I would rate West broad band shell as a five star date night restaurant, but likely not the best fit for large families and group groups. read more

Walking in, I didn't know what to expect. The decor of this place is really nice. I'm upset I didn't take more photos of the inside. Our service was very quick and sweet. She helped pick drinks and recommended options for us food wise. The seared shrimp and grits was AMAZING. So flavorful and packed with shrimp. I was happy they did not give just 5 shrimp, it was filled with a perfect amount. The chicken and waffles were so tasty. The chicken was fried a little harder than my gf's liking but still flavorful. The only downside was sitting by the window. There were some flies hanging around so I'd definitely try and sit in the middle seats away from windows. This visit to West Broad Bandshell started with a Google search for a nice downtown restaurant with plenty of free parking. The Bandshell fit that description, so reservations were made for the evening. The dining area is somewhat dark after sunset, so it is the perfect setting for a romantic meal. Yep reviews for the Bandshell mentioned numerous compliments about the cornbread cake and KTX chicken, so my order included those items. The cornbread cake was very tasty and sweet with plenty of melted butter and sugar included. The three pieces (dark meat only) of KXT chicken were crispy and hot. As it is one of their Center Stage dishes, two side items are included. I was very pleased with the food, service, and ambience. Very nice place with good atmosphere, excellent staff and good vibes. Bar is excellent with lots of specialty options, and menu, while not extensive, has a wide array of options for every taste. I had the ribeye which was good but my date had the salmon which looked and tasted better. Calamari starter was excellent. This restaurant has live music on Tuesdays and comedy on Thurs (I think). This is an easy walk from home and one of our favorite lunch spots because they don't mind if we sit and play cards! The food is delicious, they are in our regular rotation of restaurants we frequent . Our server, Angie, has waited on us almost every time and she is a great server- polite and professional. My friend and I got food delivered while in town. I got the pork katsu and fries, and my friend got the shrimp and grits. We got the TTEOK to start. The delivery guy was at the restaurant for a long time waiting for the order. He said they had to remake one of the entrees but he didn't know why exactly. Something about the shrimp? Anyway, it wasn't hard to tell which entree was the one they had to remake because the other entree was cold, as was the app. So the shrimp and grits came hot and fresh, and delicious. The TTEOK app, the pork katsu and the fries were all cold. They might have been good when they were hot and fresh, but none of it was very appetizing cold. So, instead of making both entrees over so that neither of us had a bad experience they only remade the one and the other food was left to sit and get cold. Not impressed. This is exact what Savannah needed. We really enjoyed our dinner here. They just opened up earlier this week and the food is perfect. No kinks to work out there. We tried the KTX chicken which was crispy, crunchy deliciousness especially with the sweet and not too spicy sauce. We tried collards, green beans, Mac and cheese and succotash sides. My favorite was the succotash- they put a Korean twist on the flavors and it was so yummy! My husband enjoyed his tender galbi dish served over mashed potatoes with daikon and carrots. Could have been so much better if the steak plate was just hot. Otherwise the glaze on the steak was very tasty but wasn't pleasant to be eating it cold. The pasta Alfredo sauce with shrimp was also tasty but a huge bowl of pasta and only 5 shrimp. Service wise, we were arranged to order but after receiving our meals could t find our server for ages to get a knife. The complementary cornbread is delicious. This is not an over exaggeration but I think this was possibly the best meal I've had the whole past year. We came in for lunch and had the wings and dumplings to start, followed by the Southern Seoul BLT and Katsu Express Sando. The wings and Southern Seoul BLT were the standouts, but everything else was still also amazing. But PLEASE dear god make sure you get the sweet potato fries with the "crack" dip. My girlfriend was recommended this place and we went to try it out. The food was amazing. I had the Union Station and my girlfriend had the Green Line Bibimbap Bowl and we both were silent the whole meal since we were so engrossed in the food. Our waitress was also really nice, and she would always get us just what we needed without us even having to ask. The vibes were great as well with good lighting and music. They also happened to have a Trivia night going on which we learned happens every Wednesday at 7:00. OMG! This place is THE BEST! We have been out at all the "best" places in Key West, Key Largo, St Augustine, Jekyll Island and now in Savannah over the past 3 weeks. Sadly, we were more often disappointed than not in the food on this trip (perhaps because half the trip was over the overcrowded and understaffed holiday weeks, to be fair). West Broad Bandshell did not disappoint! Everything from the fantastic corn bread cake to the salad and shrimp entree was fantastic. We enjoyed the best beignets we ever had for desert. I wish we found this place on our first night in Savannah rather than our last. We would have come back every night! Nothing else we ate here in Savannah held a candle to this place. It is just plain simply and expertly prepared wonderful fresh food. Not to mention that the staff was so very warm and welcoming and the chef and his lovely wife let us guess what the secret sauce to their cornbread cake was. Tried this restaurant for the first time, walked in and was immediately impressed with the vibe and setting. It's got awesome lighting, unique designs with the setup and it immediately relaxes you. They had several drink options including mocktails and some lower ABV options so plenty of variety was available. We had 7:30 reservations but a table wasn't ready so the host offered us to sit at the bar until one was ready, perfectly fine with us. The bartender was awesome and he took care of us, after about 20 minutes we still weren't sat and the place was busy but not packed as there were tables free and again, we had reservations. The bartender asked us if we wanted to order food and we told him we were waiting for a table and when he realized we had reservations he went and followed up with the host and sat us immediately. Now we're at a table we have our menus and drinks our bartender brought over to us. There was another waiting period of about 20 minutes again, servers walked by but none stopped by our table until we asked one of the staff members if we could have a server. Once they realized we hadn't spoken to anyone it was corrected immediately. Look we had nowhere to be so again this isn't a huge problem but they did seem either understaffed or slightly disorganized, I'm leaning towards understaffed. Now we were finally able to order and honestly, this food was so good all prior sins were forgiven. They brought us some cornbread cakes on the house, im not a huge cornbread fan but these were incredible, my fiancee loved them, we dug in before getting a photo lol. We started with the Loaded Jazz Fries which are sidewinder fries with Bulgogi beef, cheese, ranch and an aioli sauce, these were incredible, crispy fries, delicious beef and the cheesy enough and it was a huge portion that could've been a meal itself. I wanted to order the braised short rib but unfortunately they had just run out, my backup order was gonna be the pasta with steak but they were also out of steak, so I went with grilled chicken pasta. I wanted to note that once we ordered the food came quickly and was hot, my fiancée ordered the KTX fried chicken which was Korean fried chicken with mac and cheese and collard greens, they tell you it takes 20 minutes for it which is fine I mean, it's fried chicken so it should, and I want to reiterate it came to the table perfectly hot and it's all huge portions of food. The pasta was solid, I would probably order something else next time but it's not because the pasta wasn't good they just have so many other options I'd like to try. For dessert we had molten lava cake with ice cream, another delicious choice. All in all it's not a perfect place but the issues we had were ultimately minor and were corrected when we brought them to the attention of the staff. There might be a slight wait to be seated even with reservations but the bar is a good option and truthfully the food is worth it. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later. read more
