I would give Madame Pho 5 stars. I tried them for the first time last weekend and was pretty impressed. They have a bigger sized menu with plenty of options, not only Pho - they also have stir fry plates, Asian appetizers like egg rolls, desserts, teas etc. I got to try the Shrimp Pho and the Rare Beef Pho - both were delicious. They have a larger size bowl for $2 more - you can easily have leftovers if you get the big bowl. Great flavors of the food and our waitress was friendly and the food came out in 10 minutes after ordering. There is also plenty of seating inside if you want to dine in. Stopped by Madame Pho after hanging out with my sister and was pleasantly surprised to find Vietnamese food in Kenosha! I ordered the cơm sườn trứng (grilled pork with rice and egg), and it was really delicious! The dish also came with a side of pho broth which was super flavorful. The owner is really sweet and speaks Vietnamese too which was helpful. Staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. I love this place. Today I actually had Phő Ðăc Bięt. I have had it before so I knew what to expect. The meatballs, tendon and sliced round was delicious. I still have not acquired a taste for tripe. I don't notice any taste to it. But it does pick up hoisin nicely. The people here are delightful. They see me hobbling in here depending on what I've done to myself. It's a casual and welcoming. Ordered the Sizzling Beef which cost 25 and it said comes with green onions and white onions. When the dish arrived the beef was cut in chunks and was the toughest, chewiest beef (not sizzling beef at all) and came with no onions. I had requested to have extra green onion, no white onions. The waitress was argumentative, rude, loud and obnoxious when I said I never got green onions and she said it doesn't come with it. When I asked to see the menu, she did SEE it was right there on the menu but decided to tell me 'as long as I have been working here, it doesn't come with green onions' instead of saying let me fix that for you sorry. Will never go back there again. This waitress has been there a while and every single time her interactions are crass and rude. This one was way over the top (telling me it doesn't come with green onions when it's right there in front of her face it clearly says it). I absolutely love the food at this place. The food, service, and staff are so good. I usually get the Pho rare beef soup to go. I decided to dine in since it was pouring rain outside. I ordered Appetizer #9 which was an appetizer combo consisting of the following: 2 Egg rolls, 2 Spring rolls, 2 Rocket shrimp rolls, and 3 Crab Rangoon. The Crab Rangoon is the best that I've ever had. I live in this area and feel lucky to have found this gem of a restaurant in this small strip mall. It's located in between J Nails & Starbucks. Found this little gem in Kenosha right off the highway. The restaurant is cozy and there's plenty of parking. We stopped by during lunch time and there was a decent amount of people. The customer service ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS! So bad that it ruins your whole meal! We always get a pho order of steak and somehow it got confused to chicken. Would have been completely ok if we could have just gotten the steak on the side but the waitress started getting defensive saying we ordered incorrectly and she can pull up the cameras and show it. Treating us as is we were stealing! Keep in mind there is no music and she is very loud with other customers in the building. Very embarrassing when we are so sure we did nothing wrong. She leaves, another waitress comes up and tells us she's so sorry but she gets confused a lot. Our original waitress comes back and continues accusing us of being incorrect. Not only did we feel uncomfortable because we were the only Black people in there and they kept looking at us and giggling and smiling while taking our orders and giving us our orders, ALSO while we were eating... they were shushing us as well. When we received our food and we tried it, it was very bland. It tasted like cinnamon and whatever they had gave us tasted like it had been sitting on that pot all day and it was not fresh, it did not taste fresh. We needed to add a lot of salt and pepper to our food, as well as Sriracha in order to make it even tolerable because it was so bland... I would not go back. While waiting for me entrée, We over heard a customer behind us complaining of the service that he was receiving. He stated to the woman "you probably should not try to memorize the order and just wright it down" assuming after hearing this that there was going to be an issue receiving our food in a timely manner. Stopped in on a Friday night with one other person and we were immediately seated. The restaurant was pretty crowded, but the service was still good. I ordered pho with beef slices and the person I was with ordered vermicelli noodles. We both enjoyed our meals. Mine came out quickly and was very hot. I noticed the noodles were stuck together at the bottom of the bowl so I had to mix it all really well. The broth was flavorful but didn't have the same depth of flavor I'd find at some of the places I go to in Chicago. I'd say it's solid for being in Kenosha. The noodle bowl looked very tasty. Great customer service (is why I gave them a two star mostly) , was greeted when arrived staff was very friendly . The decorations and ambiance is very relaxing and super cute. Food order was brought out promptly . I ordered the fresh rolls and I was not to happy about it . It was mostly noodle and the vegetables were yellow-white. I also ordered vegetable noodle the broth was ok I added a little bit of hoisin fish sauce sate oil and it was better. We stopped in without much research. Ordered the Pho. Pho broth was bland. Not nearly enough seasoning. The beef in the pho was good and there was plenty of it. Received a very small plate of sprouts though. More veggies please. Also tried the pork chop plate. The pork chop was fantastic! FANTASTIC! Again, veggies were lacking but the amt of perfect pork chop made up for it. I think I got a single slice of cucumber, tomato, and a small bit of shredded carrot. Overall the service was good. Three of us ate mediocre, food, served by disengaged staff, got charged for a $7 soda we didn't order ($7 - not the Ritz, people) and paid a total of $75 for tepid and tasteless food. SO disappointing. Noodles were cold, Shrimp was overcooked, Calamari had no seasoning and Lemongrass Beef looked cold and tough. Each a mere $15-16.99 Ambiance? You're not serious, are you? None. ONLY thing tasty were the potstickers because they were cooked at the time and the grease was hot. Alas, still tasteless. Kenosha deserves a better opportunity to know what real Vietnamese food tastes like besides having to drown everything in Hoisin Sauce. read more

This place is unfortunately going down hill... the food used to be very good, always fresh ingredients, and prepared to order. Now it seems like they're using a lot of pre-frozen ingredients and the taste is showing - bland, sometimes burnt. That and the quality of the meat seems off as there's a lot of tendons and fat in what should be thin-sliced beef. It's still the ONLY non-fast food non-chain option in the area for decent non-western food. But it seems to me the community is pushing this place's quality down. This is my first review since moving to Wisconsin from California (shout out BAY AREA) so you already know this must mean it's good. I was so pleasantly surprised by this little gem! I've been missing Asian food since moving here. This place caught my eye last week and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I have a little cold and usually pho is my go to when I'm sick so I took the plunge and ordered it on door dash. So glad I did!!! I ordered the rare beef pho with an extra bag of veggies. And I got the lychee oolong tea with popping boba. I wish I got a large in both! Pho can be tricky when it's take out but the broth was still hot and the noodles didn't stick together upon delivery. The drink was sooooo good. My boyfriend is not a huge Asian foodie like me but I'm gonna make him try it too. I can't wait to go back. Please try it!! read more

But then the food started to come out... First came the sprouts, basil and jalapeños. Basic, but i can usually tell how good the restaurant is doing by seeing their condition. Any basil and sprouts that's wilting or browning lets me know they're either not having a good turnaround with the food or they're not taking care of their food preparation. They were browning. Sprouts had black spots (the really fresh ones don't) Shrimp spring rolls. Presentation was good and pretty. But taste was lacking... just... bland. The peanuts sauce was good. Rolls were bland and not tightly packed, with most of the filling being lettuce so not enough crunch. You know how you feel like you're being skimped out in ingredients? That's kinda what I felt here. The pho broth was good, though not great. Noodles were perfect. But i felt i got cheated on the amount of meat. A lot of noodles and not enough meat. The last straw was... as I was slurping the last of my noodle, i found a piece of long white hair. The pork bahn mi was also good but not great. Now I'm craving a good one from xankia. Another hidden gem across the border. I never knew this place existed until my Vietnamese friends told me about it. It's a pretty good size restaurant and have eaten here several times already. The menu has pretty good selections. I'm a big fan of Pho and this place reminds me of all the Vietnamese restaurants I frequent in Westminster, California. The Pho here is legit and delicious specially during the colder months. I don't mind driving across the border to Wisconsin from Illinois to get some good Pho. Definitely recommend them. The staff were very friendly and quick to refill. Makes me miss all my Viet peeps back home in Cali having Pho at 2-3am after being out to the bars and clubs. Kenosha has good pho, who knew? I'll warn you though, the large is literally like a bathtub full of pho, get the regular size. Their milk teas are really good too and it was a nice sweet treat. If you're daring get the pho dac biet that has goodies like tripe and tendon. If you're less daring they have normal meats too. Food comes fast and it was really cheap considering the portion size. First I would say get the large if you're someone who can consume a lot, or just share it I could not even get half way through it before I put it away. The crab Rangoons were amazing! Probably o r of the best it had. Now, with this being takeout, I was skeptical. But I decided to give it a try because I've been wanting to get photo from this place for years. After the renaissance faire we were starving & decided pho sounded good since it wasn't too far up the highway! We were seated very quickly and placed our orders after the waiter came back with our drinks. Three of us including myself ordered the beef brisket pho, one ordered fried chicken pho & the other ordered vermicelli noodles. They brought out two brisket phos & the vermicelli noodles pretty quickly. But after a while the other brisket pho & fried chicken pho never came. It was my boyfriend & my friends boyfriends food, they were very hungry and getting upset. After about 10-15 min we asked the waiter how long until their food and he seemed confused that they didn't have their food yet & went to the back for a bit. At this point the ones who had food were getting full & ready for to go boxes. The waiter came back and apologized & said it can be out here in 5-10 min but the boys were just ready to go so they cancelled the order. The waiter seemed very upset and banged his fist on a table as he was walking away. The pho was pretty good though, us girls who got the food enjoyed it we just felt bad for the boys. Couldn't eat it. Had to pour it down my garbage disposal. I've had pho in several cities and states and this place is one of the worse. The pho lacked flavor and the beef brisket was extremely dry. Looking at the pictures on Yelp I knew the broth wasn't the right color, however I still gave them a try because they had 4 stars. Well all I can say is the 4 stars have to be for something other than the pho. DO NOT GET THD PHO!!!!! read more
