We met friends for brunch on Saturday. The queue is not really intuitive but the service was quick and very friendly. I got a sweet & russet potato and pork bowl, topped with 2 small poached eggs and some kind of vinagrette- tasty, but rather a one-note dish. My husband got the steak salad, which he enjoyed (an accomplishment by any standards, as he's not a salad person). I also ordered a black drink coffee, which was delivered in an enormous mug- almost comically large- but it was lovely and I really enjoyed it.

I frequently order lunch to go from Billie's. I'm obsessed with the Korean Fried Chicken Wrap with either fries or a side salad. The serving size is shareable for two. The side salad is so good. It's loaded with vegetables and delicious dressing. I've dined in a few times and the staff is always friendly and helpful. It's the same story when I order to go, always friendly and helpful.

I placed a carry out order and had such a good experience! I ordered the Korean chicken wrap which came with fries. It was such a good size, I think I could have easily split this with someone else. The chicken was crispy and I loved all the different textures in the wrap. A yoli tortilla is always a bonus! The fries were good too, even for takeout. It's great that this place has so many different options for dietary restrictions. I could see this being a great place for a group!

Billie's Grocery is exceptional and I don't say that very often. The flavors! The food bursts with tastes that you might have never thought about and all marry well together. Go let your tastebuds have a party.

After yoga we opted for a light, clean healthy-ish breakfast. It was very busy. We had to circle both parking lots before happening upon someone leaving. Be prepared for that on the weekend. Through the door is very busy and loud. Grab a menu to place your order, if you're staying look for seating before hand otherwise you could be waiting for seating too after you get your food. You're given a number to place at your table and await food delivery. Lots of folks hanging around and socializing instead of eating. I ordered the CRAB SCRAMBLE, which i confirmed contains real crab meat. Just as described: wild caught blue crab, soft folded Buttonwood Farm egg, Farm to Market croissant, pickled jalapeño cream cheese, spicy mayo, roasted potatoes+green onion. It was as delicious as it's described. The croissant was warm and soft. To me it was an omelette but not a whole lot of egg either but plenty of the crab meat, with the cream cheese was so flavorful, not spicy at all. The roasted potatoes were crispy, I seasoned it with salt. Overall the food was spectacular. The ambiance is open with natural light. We had a lot of arm workout because of swatting away gnats. If I go back it would not be to fine in.

Nice local spot for coffee and food. They specialize in gluten free desserts, which I've yet to go wrong with any of the sweet items. I had the breakfast bowl which is very hearty, made with perfect over easy eggs. Can get busy at times, otherwise is a good place to meet up with friends or even to work from.

Billie's Grocery is bright, beautiful, and very clearly knows what it's doing. The space is airy and upscale with an all-white look that somehow feels welcoming instead of intimidating, which is no small feat. Everything on the menu looked incredible, and what I tried absolutely lived up to it, with food that tasted fresh, thoughtful, and really well executed. It is a little on the pricey side, but that feels expected for a place this polished and trendy. I also really appreciated how accommodating it is for gluten intolerance, which makes it an especially great option for group dining when everyone has different needs.

Simple.... GLUTEN FREE HEAVEN! If you like good food, quality, fresh, AND/or Gluten Free, this us your place. Seriously my favorite spot Oh, and they have cooking classes! We took the gluten free sourdough bread one and had tons of fun!

I stopped by Billy's Groceries and decided to try their Chicken Caesar Wrap, and it did not disappoint! The wrap was super fresh, the chicken was perfectly seasoned, and the Caesar dressing had the right amount of flavor without being too heavy. Everything was wrapped tightly and easy to eat on the go.

Despite it being a busy day our server was kind and very helpful. The salmon salad was huge and generous with the toppings. The golden latte was not great but it was refreshing and looked gorgeous.

This place was buzzing when I came in. A cute cafe with variety of pastries that will make it hard to choose. They have pop tarts to mini cakes to pavlovas. They serve gluten free meals and it's delicious. I will be back to try their crab scramble.

Drinks we got: - No Fly Zone - Off the Rails - Mr. Collage - Mescal Espresso Martini I got a cocktail caviar bump which - YES! Appetizer burritos complimented everything. That changed yesterday, when Diana Condori, the bar manager, was named a 2026 James Beard Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service semifinalist. As we love supporting restaurants and bars that receive that kind of recognition, my wife and I headed to Fern Bar that evening. I was especially curious what exactly a "sugarcane and agave bar" meant. We arrived around 5:30pm and found only a handful of guests inside. After congratulating the bartender who first served us, he mentioned that Diana was working that night and would stop by to meet us. During our conversation, Diana shared that she didn't even know she had been nominated. She woke up Tuesday to a call from owner Bryan Arri, who said he had big news and was coming over. Her first thought was that something terrible had happened--like the bar had burned down. Instead, he showed up with coffee and told her she was a James Beard honoree. Diana is originally from Bolivia and has lived in Kansas City most of her life, with the exception of time spent in San Francisco during the pandemic. She further refined her cocktail craft through local pop-ups in Kansas City under the name Condor's Cove. When Bryan was preparing to open Fern Bar, he reached out to bring her onto the team. The printed cocktail menu immediately reminded me of the Monarch and the Mercury Room--not surprising given Bryan's background at Manifesto and the Monarch. Thoughtful, intentional, and clearly designed for people who appreciate serious cocktails. We planned on having one or two drinks but ended up staying for three, thanks to an outstanding lineup and a memorable conversation with Diana. We tasted: * No Fly Zone - Rum, agave, pineapple foam * Mr. Collage - Smooth, elegant, egg-white cocktail * Three Negroni Lunch - Bitter, boozy, and beautifully balanced * Pendergast No. 4 - Complex and spirit-driven * It's Bananas - Banana liqueur with bright tropical notes * Off the Rails - Creative and well-executed rum/agave cocktail One downside of many cocktail-forward bars is the lack of food, but Fern Bar offers two varieties of mini burritos for $4--just enough protein to keep things balanced while indulging. Great concept, exceptional service, and truly memorable drinks. Check it out--and be sure to say hello to Diana.

The space is smallish but they do have bar seating in addition to seating throughout. The service was friendly and the drinks were great. They don't offer food, but they do offer cocktails, beer, wine, and mocktails. I went on a Sunday and they have a special menu called "Almost Monday." It's a smaller, simpler cocktail menu and the prices are very fair compared to other cocktail spots. I tried the Caipirinha (pineapple) and the Negroni sour. Both were good. When you arrive there is parallel parking available outside the bar. When you walk in you'll feel like your bright, vibrant, and feels incredibly welcoming. Also, they have some really fun drinks as well that have been thoughtfully put together. We ended up sitting at the bar and I started with the Reformed Porn Star (vanilla vodka, bronson's tropical milk punch, passion fruit, Prosecco, citric acid and popping boba) which was by far my favorite drink and felt like I could have drank a couple more of these. Second I tried the Neo Cosmo (white rum, strawberry, cacao, coconut, rose hip, lime, bubble) which was good and was a fun drink with an ice cream shaped cup and a bubble on the top (meant to look like an ice cream cone). If you are in the area, this bar is a must try, the bartenders were awesome and took good care of us.
