Ok, ladies, this place is legit! I've been getting no-chip manicures for about 10 years now and the group's attention to detail is incredible. Their knowledge regarding healthy nail maintenance is also top notch. My first visit was a few months ago after I (shamefully admit) destroyed my nails due to peeling off a no chip that was popping and catching my strands of hair. Needless to say, my nails and cuticles were destroyed. My new office is in the West Loop, essentially a lifetime away from my old nail spa under the Mariano's just East of Michigan Ave so, I was on the hunt for a fix and fast. I found Madelyn's, read some excellent reviews, and decided to give it a shot. And wow, just WOW! The woman who did my nails commented on how short they were (they were painfully short) but she made them look beautiful and even. Unfortunately, a few nails chipped just a few days afterwards so, I called the ladies at Madelyn's and they said to come right in. I went during my lunch and the woman (I believe she either owns Madelyn's or manages) explained how they were polished beautifully but because they were so short, extra attention needed to be given to sealing the tips with more polish to prevent the chipping. She redid both hands, free of charge, but I left another tip because they were all super nice and accommodating. Fast forward to three weeks later and my nails still looked gorgeous. They were growing, they were stronger, and the polish was in tact on every nail. Had it not been for the nail growth, I would have easily been able to push my no-chip for another week. I've been back twice more since my first visit and each no-chip has lasted three weeks, easily. I commented to another new guest how these girls have given me the best manicure I've ever had, better than the fancy spas, better than any place up north, and they blow away the places in the 'burbs. One of the women who works there mentioned they use organic products which are better for the nails and, boy, is she right! My nails are long, strong, and healthy and my cuticles look the best they've looked in about a year (I'm a stress picker and my poor cuticles bear the brunt). So, ladies, if you're able to make a visit to this small shop on the top level of the Ogilvie Train Station just to the left of the escalators, do it! You will not be disappointed. read more

As a person who has gotten a no chip manicure every 2-3 weeks for over 7 years, I have high expectations. It seemed evident to me once I left that this would not be a lasting no chip manicure and I was proven right the next day...my nails chipped within 24 hours. And not just one, all of them. The overall manicure and salon were decent, however when I pay $40 for a service, I expect it to last the stated amount of time (no chips are typically 2 weeks). I was disappointed trying this place based on the positive Yelp reviews and will not be returning. read more

Was visiting from out of town and saw this salon. I received an excellent pedicure. The staff were friendly, they got me in right away, and the place was so clean. They discenfected every bowl with propercleaning supplies. This business will not cut out any step that needs to be done, they take the time and do it correctly. When I asked if they did Russian Pedicure the young lady said yes. She proceeded to run water and sit Me in the chair. I had never had a Russian pedicure so didn't know what to expect. She told me it would be work on my cuticles and that's what made it Russian. Also there would be an extra $20 on top of the $65 gel pedicure price. No problem. While sitting in the chair I googled Russian pedicure and learns that it's a waterless process and usually takes about 1 hour to 1.5 hours. I was done in 45 minutes and couldn't tell anything really different than I normally have done at the nail shop. The massage on my legs was very soft and lasted about 30 seconds per leg. The scrubbing on the bottom of my feet with the sponge was so soft that I'm sure none of the dry skin was removed. The salon is clean and they played good music but I was disappointed with the service I received. I would not recommend them for a Russian pedicure since they don't follow the Russian pedicure process. The pedicure in general was subpar at best.
