    The Bear Burger Onion Rings

Never a bad meal at the bear. Fantastic onion rings and ranch per usual. One last time before moving!

I tried Madison Bear Garden thanks to a recommendation. As soon as I heard they had a peanut butter burger I knew I had to come visit! You order your food at the counter and then find a seat. Drinks are ordered at one of the two bars. When I went, it was slow so only one bar was open. The place is a little dark like a bar, but there's also outdoor seating if you prefer to eat with more light. The workers were friendly. They messed up one of our orders but promptly made it again without any issues. Now let's get to the burger, I thought it was good but not anything special It was just a regular burger with some jiffy peanut butter added. Not sure what I expected. We also ordered some garlic butter fries. The menu didn't lie when it said it would keep the vampires away. The fries are LOADED with garlic!!

We came in there wasn't a line at all. It is self seating. You do go up to a window in order, but there was no wait time I ordered. The bravo avocado with a salad and it was one of the best burgers I've had in my life. My husband got the Thunder Humper covered in chili. With fries and he now has an empty plate.. The food is amazing. The staff are incredibly friendly! The atmosphere is very family oriented while still catering to the adults and nice even Balance between the two. The beer was cold and on tap. I would've taken pictures of the food, but it was so good. I couldn't stop eating and before I realized I hadn't taken pictures. My plate was empty as well as my husband sorry for the lack of pictures but here's what I do have lol and yes, I strongly recommend you visit this place for your dining pleasure.

Papa bear: if ur too lazy to read the menu, it has patty, cheddar cheese, bacon, onion rings, mayo, bear b que sauce, lettuce, and tomato. Tall burger but go slow and small bites and can save your jaw, will get easier to bite after the first few bites. Top Bun has a nice crunch, bottom got soft. The veggies are below the patty. Patty is huge, as a bacon burger hater, the bacon was good, tears apart easily but still has the crunch and chew, my jaw feels the burn. Bear b que Sauce was dripping from the back but visually nothing in the front, the drippings were also pretty clear, sauce is lacking, flavor is kinda subtle without much sauce. Not enough I think. Onion rings adds an additional nice crunch especially in my last bites. Garlic fries: curly, topped with butter, cheese and garlic, middle has a lot but on the sides, the fries are pretty much naked. Theres more garlic at the bottom, which is nice Extra: Water comes with straw Came with pickle and kale? Idk where it came from (burger or fries) Order food first, they'll call your name with a mic when ur order is ready. Drinks (including water) in another area. Insanely well decorated. The place has so much character. In terms of vibe and atmosphere, this place is a great one to hang out and a rare find Theres even a pinball machine, and other quarter machines Menu is on a wall next to the order area 4/5, great food but I know better burgers (slyderz)

Family, college students friendly restaurant located close to Chico state. Plenty of arcade games for entertaining.Happy hour specials with plenty of drink specials. We ordered chili cheese fries, hot wings and bacon cheeseburgers with curly fries. You order at one station then you place your drink order at the bar. No waitress or server, self service. Everything was good. Plenty of indoor seating. Very inviting and welcoming environment. Meter parking available. Reasonable prices. Will definitely visit again

I came on Tuesday on a trip - so not the busiest, but love the interior design this bar is so cute! Got the purple hooter which is very tasty. The bartender was so nice and walked us through all the specialty shots. 10/10 wish a place like this existed closer to me.

    Do they have karaoke?

Beareoke is every Monday at 9:30pm!

Are they a Restaurant and a Bar or do they have a Nightclub as well?

They have a vegetarian patty that is pretty good!

Do they have boxes to go?

    yes

If you're rolling through Chico and looking for a place that actually lives up to the name, Burgers…read more& Brew doesn't just talk a good game... it delivers for us! From the moment you walk up, it's got that classic brick and wood feel that says you're about to eat well. Step inside and you're greeted by a wall of taps that feels like a beer lover's playground. The place hums... great music, good energy, and a staff that's clearly in rhythm with it all. We didn't mess around with the order. My daughter went with the blue cheese burger special, her boyfriend took on the bacon jalapeño burger, and I went straight for the pastrami burger. Every one of them came out looking like a culinary masterpiece. The blue cheese had that perfect balance... bold but not overpowering as they are want to be. Her boyfriend said the bacon jalapeño brought just enough heat to keep things interesting without stealing the show, probably too weak for me ;). My pastrami burger was a heavyweight... stacked, savory, and the kind of messy you don't even try to clean up until you're done. Think Katz deli melding with a west coast hip scene burger. Now let's talk onion rings... because these deserve it. Golden, crispy, and just the right crunch when you bite in. Not greasy, not soggy, just dialed in exactly how they should be. Add the garlic sauce and now you're playing a different game altogether. That sauce is not optional, it's essential and fabulous on everything. The beer selection is deep, the kind where you stand there for a minute pretending you're making a thoughtful decision when really you just want to try everything. Service was on point from start to finish. No waiting around, no chasing anyone down... just attentive, easy, and done right. Only downside, and it's not really their fault, is parking. Downtown Chico can make you work a little for it. But once you're inside, with a cold beer in hand and a burger staring you down, you won't care how far you walked. I will be back, it is well worth the money.

Burgers are "meh", and my only reason for going back is that they have an ok lamb burger, which I haven't otherwise found north of Sacramento (where there are much better lamb burgers). The place is absolutely filthy. Greasy fingerprints on every surface that could possibly display them. Spill residue and trash everywhere. There's absolutely no way that my wife would eat here. She hasn't been there in years, and now would turn around and leave as soon as she saw the place. Looking around while eating, I couldn't finish my meal, and I left. And I'm pretty easy. I like dives, but not filth. I don't think that this is meant to be a dive, AND it's progressively become a s******e. And, all the while, the "manager", who didn't appear to "manage" anything, except for conversation and passing out free beer samples to his buddies at the bar (one of whom was clearly, from their banter, a fired former employee), did nothing else but gossip and bitch about higher management, while the employees also had multiple free beer samples, and stood around and chatted with each other. While the environment grew even more disgusting. Shouldn't these people be trying to at least keep the the place presentable, if not really clean? Isn't this a regional chain? I'm sure that no one from Sacramento has been here recently. I don't like to see a business fail, but this one deserves to.

We had kids with us, so we got there an hour before it became 21+. Everyone was friendly, the food came pretty quick relative to how hopping it was. We ordered: Pho-rench dip (w/fries)--I think this was a DDD sandwich, so it's not some hidden gem, but it was super tasty. You cannot go wrong. The slight lime-iness of the dipping broth really kicked it into turbo. Also, we all likes the steak fries--a note on that later. Chicken Cheese Steak (w/fries)--my wife loved it. I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. IMPORTANT NOTE (to people traveling through Chico, or who don't want to take leftovers)--the sandwiches are pretty big, and the add-on fry order is also sizeable. If we were going again tomorrow, we would either order 1 fry instead of 3. Or split a sandwich. Very very good pub.

I blame my daughter for this review…read more Last week we were headed to sushi when the smell coming from Parkside Tap House ambushed us on the sidewalk. Being pregnant, she's operating with heightened food detection abilities that rival military technology, so she immediately declared, "We're coming back here." A week later we returned with her boyfriend and brother, and what followed can best be described as a competitive eating event. The hostess greeted us warmly, got us seated quickly, and we settled into the lively outdoor patio. Great atmosphere, cold drinks, sports on the TVs, and just enough energy to feel fun without feeling chaotic. We started with ahi bites, beer cheese pretzels, jalapeño poppers, and Brussels sprouts. The ahi bites were fantastic. Fresh ahi, creamy avocado, crispy wontons, and a little heat at the finish line. The pretzels were soft enough to pull apart with your fingers and the beer cheese was rich and addictive. The jalapeño poppers got an unexpected upgrade from the blackberry BBQ sauce, which gave them a sweet, smoky personality all their own. Then there were the Brussels sprouts. Whoever thought of pairing Brussels sprouts with blackberry drizzle deserves a raise. Sweet, savory, crispy, tender, and impossible to stop eating. For dinner we sampled the taco bowl, brisket bowl, rice bowl loaded with brisket, and a house salad. The taco bowl was colorful, fresh, and loaded with flavor. The brisket bowl was my personal favorite. Smoky brisket over fried rice with vegetables, crispy wontons, cotija cheese, and a sweet-spicy sauce that kept me digging in long after I should have stopped. The rice bowl with added brisket was almost comical when it arrived. Massive chunks of brisket perched on top like they owned the place. Tender, smoky, juicy, and worth every penny. Even the house salad was fresh enough to remind us we were technically eating vegetables. What stood out most was that every dish felt like someone in the kitchen actually cared. Nothing felt thrown together. Portions were generous, flavors were bold, and everything hit the table looking as good as it tasted. We originally found Parkside by following our noses. After this meal, we'll be following our cravings back
