If you think this is a regular cafe only open for brunch. You are wrong! They open on Friday and Saturday with an amazing Lebanese cuisine. We chose an outdoor seating with beautiful flowers surrounded the patio area. We've ordered Mezza Platter, Crispy Halloumi Balls, Lamb Kafka, Homemade Shawarma, Lebanese Grilled Chicken, Bouza Ashta, & Pistachio Baklava & Ice cream. It was so good that we devour the food so quick before I can take any pix. All dishes are amazing especially the Lebanese Grilled Chicken is so juicy and tender. You have to order a main that comes with their in-house rice. I can't explain how good it is but I can have it every day!! I highly recommend Bouza Ashta as dessert. It has a very unique and refreshing summery taste. The server is very professional, making your experience at this cafe like a 5 star hotel meal.

This place is perfect to take the family out on a rainy/sunny day out. The waiters were so kind and funny and attentive. The food was perfect, eggs Benedict is a must have! Their home fries were perfect, savory & soft. Couldn't have made a better decision coming here

A great place to grab breakfast / brunch! I encourage making reservations ahead of time. For our entrees we had the Nutella crepes, zatar manoosh, salad, eggs Benedict, avocado toast and pancakes. Everything was pretty delicious! I can't wait to come back to try other things from the menu. Also the servers are amazing and go above and beyond to make it an enjoyable dining experience!

I had brunch on Saturday with a reservation and the restaurant was very quiet. We ordered Lebanese coffee but it was too strong and end up ordering a mint tea. The tabbouleh salad came out quickly but it had too much lemon juice and not enough tomatoes and couscous. Our steak and eggs came out more than 30 minutes later due to a catering order being fulfilled. It would have been nice they fulfilled our order first. I would like to try other place for a brunch when in the area next time.

I'm surprised how I have never reviewed my favorite breakfast place yet on yelp! I'm a regular here and always have the same order ( I should explore more but I'm so addicted to what I love). Pear and pecan pancake along with avocado toast with salmon. Great presentation and mind blowing flavours. Highly recommend these two to everyone. Recently they started with dinner as well over the weekend and obviously I was all in to try. Mr.had the delicious Lebanese grilled Chicken and i tried the softest roasted branzino. I have to specially mention how tender and well marinated the chicken was. Definitely going back again and again !!

I really loved this place! I can see why it is one of the top rated spots to eat in North Jersey. Prior to dining here we didn't even realize that it was top ranked on Yelp. It didn't take us long to understand why this restaurant is so well coveted though - the crispy pita bread seasoned with oil & sesame to start surely sealed the deal. Loved the mushroom soup special, it was vegan and had all the great umami/ mushroom flavors one craves in a mushroom soup. I would absolutely recommend it, especially if you are a mushroom fan like I am. We had to try the blueberry Mascarpone French toast after hearing all the rave reviews about it, and we were so glad we did - the blueberry and mascarpone paired so well together and the French toast was perfectly sweet! Do not skip out. Pro tip, get it to share with the table like we did so you don't have a sweetness overload. I enjoyed the crispy falafel as well as their tahini sauce. The zaatar manakeesh was absolutely delicious. The bold and fresh flavors were bursting. My one qualm was that it was supposed to be served with labneh but my dish wasn't. Regardless, it was still tasty without it, but I was looking forward to trying some of the labne at Madison. Although I'm sure if I asked for some, they would gladly provide some on the side. I hope to try it next time! Overall this is a very cute place to dine, with delicious food & pretty decorations inside the restaurant. Additionally, the staff is very kind, well-trained, and professional at this restaurant! Do yourself a favor & try this restaurant! I cannot wait to return when I am back in Edgewater!

It was a beautiful Saturday morning (finally) and decided to try Madison for the first time. We loved the outdoor space. Everyone was accommodating and the server was extra attentive. Freddy, the manager was so funny and exceptionally polite. The food was very good. Although we were there for brunch, I want to come back to try the dinner. Excited to find out it was BYOB as well.

The food was really good--but the rest of the experience left a bad taste. The server seemed irritated from the start--just cold and short. It took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. What really shocked me was the 4% credit card fee. That alone might have been fine, but here's the kicker: First, they gave us a regular paper bill like any other restaurant. But when we handed over a credit card, they brought an iPad-like device to the table, stood next to me while I navigated it, and the tip suggestions started at 25%--calculated on top of both tax and the credit card fee. They kept staring until I tapped, and immediately took the device back. That kind of checkout pressure and pricing trickery completely ruined the experience. It's a shame, because the food really was good. But service matter just as much--and I won't be coming back.

3.5. A really lovely little place in Edgewater for brunch and lunch. We came at the last minute for breakfast. We were quickly greeted and sat outside. They have a lovely patio. Service was impeccable. The food was good. I'd give it a 3.5 stars for what we ordered. There may be other dishes that are better, or they may have been having an off day. I ordered the, blueberry mascarpone French toast and my husband ordered something with lobster. He liked his. For me, the presentation was beautiful, everything was fresh, but the flavor was really lacking unfortunately. I think we'd return, try some different dishes. I would also try for lunch.

First of all this place is 5 star all the way around!!! The food and presentation are beyond delicious!! I've been many times and I order a different item every time. I've yet to make it to dessert. I've seen them, but always too full to eat them. Service is spectacular and friendly, so polite and prompt, even when they're busy. The ambiance is like a European Cafe. I had a delicious breakfast here with my friends recently. The restaurant is decently sized, the ambiance is comforting and nice, and the service was okay. They were kind and helpful but definitely busy on a Sunday morning. Here's what we ordered: falafel wrap, avocado toast, Lancaster omelette and a nice hot latte. Note: they have an extensive menu with many more options that sound amazing as well as a great lunch menu (halal options available!!!) The other dishes look really great and from the reviews they sound just as good. I would recommend this spot for a nice meal. read more

I have never been before and we celebrated my mother's 90th birthday with a wonderful lunch. The staff was absolutely wonderful and we are certainly going back. The ambience was beautiful. The outside is gorgeous and the food was absolutely delicious. I recommend this little gym to anybody for brunch or even an early dinner. Absolutely lovely and we will be coming back. read more

We were excited by the five star review and figured we try this place out. Soon as we walked in, I was disappointed by the ambience. It had a diner feel to it. Service was disappointing. Steak and lamb were dry and vegetables and salad were ok. I would not rush back here any time soon. read more

I absolutely love this place! My partner and I got the lobster eggs Benedict and the crispy pork eggs Benedict... it so GOOD. The lobster Benedict had so many chunks of lobster, I was shocked, the same goes for the pork. The eggs are not over cooked, it's deliciously runny. We also had the blueberry mascarpone French toast. It was so delicious.. words cannot explain. I will definitely be a regular here. The style of the restaurant is sleek and modern. All around 10/10. The only slight thing is the wait for the food, but I believe it's because the restaurant makes everything fresh. The wait it worth it. read more

We were looking for a place to a nice brunch near the Port Imperial Ferry that wasn't over the top but nicer than a diner and came up with the Madison Cafe. It fit the bill perfectly as the Edgewater location is 6 minutes from the ferry. The patio was in sight of River Road yet felt secluded and the music was pleasant yet not obtrusive. We just had basic breakfast fare but the Avocado Chipotle Sandwich and Lancaster Omelette were very tasty. My only problem is I usually skip whatever home fries come with an egg dish but theirs were delicious chunks of potato with sauteed onion which, I'm afraid to say I polished off entirely. The service was warm and attentive, but they didn't rush us as I lingered over a pot of (strong!) Lebanese coffee and a (shared) plate of baklava. The latter was actually an assortment of pastries I recognize from holiday trays from Turkish bakeries in Paterson which, if not homemade is certainly as delicious. read more

The restaurant is small and has a cute ambiance. I had the Blueberry Mascarpone French Toast that was delicious, and I absolutely recommend it. Iham was a good server, and he and the other servers that were there until closing time did not make us feel rushed even though we were there until past their closing time. They even asked us about dessert and obliged when a few said yes. I dont give 5 stars easily, but this place deserves it and I'm definitely going back when in the area again. read more

Had brunch here and a couple weekends ago. It's a very cute space with ample parking out front. The restaurant was well laid out and service was good. The iced latte was delicious and beautifully presented. I got the blueberry mascarapone French toast and it was delicious. Madison Cafe & Grill is BYOB; we brought Prosecco and champagne and purchased orange juice from the restaurant. The only hitch was that a reservation had been made by phone but they had no record of it, making us have to wait approximately 30-40 minutes for a table. read more

I was looking for a place for brunch last Sunday which I came across this wonderful place online. I didn't know that the place close at 4 pm on Sunday, I got there around 3:20 pm but the staff were very kind, and accommodating; not only they let me, and my friend order our food, and enjoy the lovely ambience, they did not rush us at all, and as a matter of fact they stayed open a bit later than 4 so we wouldn't feel rushed. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. Our waiter was a gentleman called Ezzy (sorry for misspelling). he was incredibly welcoming and friendly. We ordered avocado toast, fried cauliflower, falafel. everything tasted amazing. Highly recommend this place to everyone looking for a cozy place with great ambience, and of course great food! read more

A welcome and unique addition to the Edgewater food scene. Delicious homemade Lebanese food in a modern setting and served up by the Fabulous Freddy. Diana and her family charming and everyone goes out of their way to treat each customer like a VIP. Freddy was attentive, professional and I think he must read minds because before we could even ask, he was tableside with whatever we needed. The babaganoush was smoky perfection, we cleaned the plate and neither my husband nor I even like eggplant. The sauces were to die for, handcrafted tahini and hot sauce with just the right amount of heat just added extra yummy layers to my falafel appetizer and wrap. My husband devoured his Cast Iron Rib Eye Sandwich and left the plate clean. We are already planning our next visit for breakfast. Can't wait! read more

Great and surprising find, and an excellent addition to halal restaurants in the neighborhood. It's an American Lebanese restaurant and the menu has options from both cuisines. We had a pancake platter with turkey sausage and banana berry crepe and both were very good. Coffee is hit or miss in a lot of places in NJ, and thankfully their coffee was significantly above average (though not perfect like Kuppi's). We were there for brunch on a Saturday and they were pretty fast for both seating us and then bringing our order. They have a nice patio and there were several people out there but we chose to sit inside. Seating is reasonably distanced and the ambiance inside the cafe is pretty pleasant. (Oh and very clean restroom). read more

This was a great local spot for breakfast/lunch Everything I tried was really good. Their mint lemonade was delicious, and I had their grilled chicken shawarma wrap with truffle fries and it was so good. Our waiters were so friendly and gave good recommendations. And the restaurant itself was very clean. Our only issue was that the service was extremely slow. But besides that, definitely recommend stopping into this place for a quick bite. read more

I really wanted a good salad before my long flight, and Madison Cafe & Grill exceeded my expectations! We had never tried it - or even noticed it - before we went but were so happy. It's such a cute place, and has some large tables in case you have a big party. The staff was warm and helpful and our salads were giant! My mom got the chicken avocado salad and I got the salmon avocado. We could have shared one and had leftovers. I think we each had a full avocado on our plates. It was fresh and simple and we will be heading back soon. No liquor license, so BYOB. read more

Great breakfast/ lunch choice in the area. The place is very well kept and such a nice ambiance with amazing service. Ordered the mushroom omelette and asked to add sujuk which they accommodated for an additional cost. Just visited today after hearing several positive reviews and thoroughly enjoyed. The staff are professional warm and friendly. The stops here is nice and cozy modern. We ordered both a red and a white for the table, and I was especially drawn to the red, as the red was served chilled, light-bodied, and very enjoyable. Nearly all of the reds and whites on the menu are from Lebanon, with just one red from Morocco, plus a couple sparkling options from Lebanon as well. We started with several dips for the table: hummus, baba ghannouj, and muhammara. The hummus was incredibly smooth, and the muhammara was especially flavorful with large pieces of walnut throughout. It wasn't sweet at all or tangy really like a Carolina style. It just fell flat The cornbread leaned sweet and very cakey, not particularly southern style but I did enjoy it. Overall, it's a decent option if you're craving BBQ and want leftovers, but flavor-wise, I still find myself preferring Oiso.

While I can't vouch for authenticity but I can vouch for a delicious bite. Sazanami Hamba-Gu is notable for their Japanese Hamburger Steak, which is a hamburger without the bun, a very popular dish in Japan. Their version was served on a platter with rice, vegetables, miso soup, and chawanmushi. The patty itself was very juicy and tender and noted on the menu as a beef and pork combination. I included some addons which made my entree far more pricer. The fried egg was a good call while the double cheese probably wasn't necessary. I got the recommended red wine demi-glacé and another with the soy onion. The red wine was better in my opinion. Also got a tonkatsu to share and while the breading was very good the pork was a little drier than other ones I've had. I'd skip the tonkatsu and stick with the Hambu-gu as that was definitely more notable. Service was friendly but the entree does take time to prepare. I'd say think twice if you are in a hurry.

My sister got the short rib, she said it was a tad dry but very tasty, the polenta was so good! The squid ink pasta was flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the mussels were fresh. The fries were also really good, which sounds simple but makes a difference. The customer service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the view is absolutely amazing, definitely adds to the whole experience. Would absolutely come back. We also got a brownie with caramel gelato. Can't wait to come back!

I'd say overall everything was good. The cheese based pasta was a bit heavy but the flavors were nice. Some of the wine prices were actually much better than other areas (especially when compared to the city). Cute intimate place that would be great for a date night. Came here after dark but feel like coming for brunch would be good as well to really get most of the view. I'd say definitely worth a visit.

I recently visited Madison Cafe and Grill and unfortunately had a disappointing experience due to the management's unprofessional conduct. After finishing my meal, which was decent, I accidentally forgot to leave a tip--not out of disrespect, but simply a genuine oversight. To my surprise, the manager came directly to my table and demanded that I leave a tip. Not only was this highly inappropriate considering that tipping is optional and not mandated by law, but his tone was rude, unkind, and completely lacking in courtesy. There are respectful ways to address concerns in the service industry--this was not one of them. A friendly reminder or quiet conversation would have been more acceptable if they truly felt something needed to be said. But the way this was handled made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on the business and overshadows the efforts of the rest of the staff. I hope management takes this as an opportunity to reflect on the importance of professionalism and customer respect. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this establishment to others. read more

Had such a lovely brunch at Madison Cafe. The food was fresh, comforting, and beautifully plated without feeling overly "done up." The pancakes were fluffy with just the right golden crisp on the edges, the brisket birria benedict and spreads were delicious, and even the coffees were spot on. What really stood out though was the service. Everyone was genuinely warm, attentive, and welcoming, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and easy. Loved everything, food , ambiance, staff & decor. We came in today to try this new spot in Edgewater. We had the eggs Benedict, so yummy served with delicious home fries. We tried as well the lentil soup , first time I eat this Mediterranean style but I loved it . My husband had the chicken kabab platter , chicken was perfectly cooked, delicious Lebanese rice and grilled vegetables. Prices are very reasonable, service very friendly . We will be back to try more exciting menu items. Highly recommend it read more

Our trip to Canada had been canceled, and one of our chief disappointments was missing the authentic Lebanese Schwarma we wouldn't get. My wife found Madison Cafe and Grill and they went to great lengths to make their delicious food to the exact specifications we requested. Freddie was helpful, professional and kind. It was very clear that the most important thing to him was to make it special for my wife. We couldn't have had a better experience, and we recommend Madison Café and Grill wholeheartedly. read more

This place has some of the best brunch items by far in this area. Very clean and nicely presented. The workers are fantastic, and the prices are affordable when compared to other establishments in the same area. Highly recommend, give this place a chance. You won't be disappointed.
