Everything was phenomenal! Great menu with lots of options outside of the normal fried seafood. We went with a larger group with several dietary restrictions including vegetarian and gluten-free. We went today and had a wonderful experience! Extensive Gluten-free options and incredibly fresh seafood. The shrimp, scallops and calamari were perfectly prepared - daily fresh. The environment was charming, service incredible, and the old home it's located in was a neat ambiance. Only drawback was that it had rained and the parking lot is muddy. We got lucky when a friend suggested we try Madisons. We went for lunch on Friday and they were very busy. Cool old farmhouse converted to a very nice space. Food was wonderful, our server Kathryn was spot in and full of energy. She is an artist as well and her paintings are for sale within the restaurant. Just tried this restaurant for the first time. The fresh mahi-mahi was excellent. The sides were just as good with several options to chose from. My wife had the broiled shrimp which were sweet and cooked just right. Dinner was served with fresh bread and honey butter. The service was excellent and friendly. We stopped in on Thanksgiving Day - we had no reservation. From the moment we met the Host (who stated no problem) to the moment we were seated - we were treated to Southern Hospitality at its finest. We enjoyed a Cocktail while awaiting our Traditional Turkey Dinner - Turkey, Ham, Sweet Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Roll, and Cornbread Stuffing. Cranberry and gravy (all the extra you may want or need) on the side. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch adventure at this restaurant. It is charming and just an adorable place to eat. It has inside and outside seating (I can't wait for the fall to try the outside seating). I was impressed that the restaurant had gluten, vegetarian, and vegan choices. The service and food was excellent. For an appetizer I tried the fried-green tomatoes. Definitely would recommend (unfortunately didn't get a picture of them before they were devoured). I then had the Chicken Club sandwich, which I would also recommend. All in all, great experience. This was my first dinner out in the Beaufort area, and it set a high bar! The atmosphere was homey and comfortable, and the seating on the screened porch was quiet and cozy. The wait staff was excellent - attentive and friendly with us, lots of joking, laughing, and just generally enjoying life. That made the dinner experience so much more enjoyable. And don't even get me started on the food! I tried the salmon with lemon vinaigrette and it was absolutely delicious. I don't usually finish my whole meal because I am a small person. We had a reservation and were seated at the worst table in the restaurant. Outside in the July heat would have been better. Hearing the drama in the kitchen wasn't appetizing. The food was ok. We started with good Bloody Mary drinks, complete with olives, celery, bacon strip and an Old Bay rimmed glass. The wedge salad was great and very fresh. This place is delicious . It is also the most wonderful place around to go if you need gluten free food. Almost everything on the menu was/could be gluten free. They were very knowledgeable over the phone when we placed our order. Everyone in our party loved their meal, and I am the only gluten free person- so their food is good for everyone. I went last night with my wife and again had a wonderful experience from when we got seated until when we left. The server was attentive and got right to our drinks an went over the specials. I started off with a half dozen of the best oysters Rockefeller I've had in the country. Sweet, plump and large! Next we had two different entrees. I had the Red Drum with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts, and my wife had the Rib Eye steak. They were both delicious. To finish off the dinner, we split a Chocolate and Raspberry Cake which was to die for. Could easily be in the running for the worst oysters to be served in the Beaufort area, grilled with garlic, bread crumbs and wine and also plain old oysters on the half shell. one of the guest asked for buttered noodles but was refused because they were on the children's menu but was refused even though an offer to pay for an adult portion was made.
