My fave Slo Hike! It is the perfect amount of challenging, but also one you can do with a friend and chat without being out of breath! The views are gorgeous at the top! Highly recommend doing this hike and then grabbing lunch at the Madonna!

This hike is one of my favorites in SLO because its not too long or hard. Most of the way up is a dirt road but at the top it's not. During Christmas time there is a light up Christmas tree at the top which is popular and fun to hike to. A lot of people mountain bike on this trail so hikers, be considerate. My only complaint is that I have gotten lost many times on the way down. There are some signs but you really can't tell what they mean they show a lemon. At the beginning/bottom of the hike there is a parking lot. There is also another part of the hike that goes to a neibghorhood and is very confusing to find your way back to where you parked on the other side of the mountain.

I have been hiking Madonna regularly for the past 5 years and it is currently my favorite with the new route around the right side past the M. Madonna usually has decent parking except it is tight at peak times. Bottom to top and back is around 1.5 hrs which is nice. As I mentioned before, the nbew addition goes to the M and then works it way down on a beautiful new trail. This route will run you closer to 50 minutes and it lets you jog or walk down an a decent pace. Any route you take, the scenery is beautiful. Thi s is one of my favorite places to just breathe and take it all in.

I'm not a real big hiker but this was a really good hike trail. The trail is good if your a beginner or intermediate. It is about 2 miles. Bring good hiking shoes and a walking stick. There are different trails you can take. You cant get lost. This trail is good if you ride mountain bikes. Also bring water bottles, snacks, sunglasses, and a hat.

Fun hike, alittle uphill but not strenuous. Easy to park and the views were spectacular!

So quiet I could hear birds chirping in the near distance. Wild flowers are blooming spurraickily all over. It was a definite pleasure to take a long overdue walk in nature. So beautiful!!!

The map trail on the board at the entrance was very confusing to us. As we walked, we followed the yellow arrow trail, but there was also an orange arrow as well. The trail was narrow of about 12 to 18 inches at times and rocky in some areas. It had a change of elevation. It was not just a flat walk through a field, but up and down the surrounding hills. There were wildflowers blooming along the way. Some sections went through an area which had trees, but otherwise the trail was mostly open, which would make it hot in warm weather. There are little bridges to cross, but the streams are dry right now. Made for some interesting photos. You also have to pass over a few cattlecrossings. Next time we revisit this trail, we will follow the orange arrow from the parking lot and see how we like that part of the trail. The distance listed on the board was very confusing. It took us two hours just to do the yellow arrow trail. I am always happy to do a loop trail so I don't feel like I am lost. I was so happy to finally see the parking lot below as we transversed the hill.

Visiting SLO and my wife heard about this trail. I checked online on how to access...unfortunately…read morethe article was from 5 years ago and seemed to be outdated. Make sure you have plenty of time as there is quite a bit to see. We had a little over an hour and weren't able to see everything. We parked at the parking village drive parking garage, which was $10. There are 2 trails that head to the entrance arch shown in the picture..the first we ran across connected to the living quarters as was a narrow trail in the grass leading to the woods. This is a tad more challenging as the other trail is a gravel road with a slight incline and this route is a small path through the woods ( incline, decline, over branches and roots, etc). After about 14 mins it connects the gravel travel. To access from the gravel trail start from the parking garage opposite of the parking garage entrance there is a sidewalk path leading to a bridge, cross the bridge and you'll be on your way. Immediately, we saw some horses wandering around and crossing us on the trail. They were calm and a pleasant surprise. I won't post much of our photos, but there are lots of interesting structures that gave me a burning man feel. Lots of graffiti too, not sure if that is welcome or just vandalism. This was a nice change of pace trail and I would recommend.

If you've heard of the Architecture Graveyard, this is the way to get there! Other reviews have…read moregood directions but I highly recommend going on a weekend so you don't have to worry about finding parking. There's also a parking garage that isn't too far, in addition to the nearby staff lots. Trail is a fire road, and occasionally there are cars/trucks on it, so stay aware. You'll eventually come to a route to your right with a bridge for a hidden trail, but keep going to the left to get to the graveyard - plan to spend an hour or two if you really want to wander around and see all the structures. The trail itself is shady, but several of the projects are out in the open - take sunblock and water, and use common sense. For better or worse, most of the architecture displays are run-down, broken, and/or vandalized with graffiti - it lends a cool dystopian vibe to the area but it's a shame that the university let them get so damaged. Still cool to explore, though, stop by to take a look and get in some steps on a nice day!

The bike he wanted was not assembled completely or properly. The original sales person said he wanted another associate, Donovan, to check the bike and make any necessary adjustments. Donovan did a complete inspection of the bike, finding several missteps by the person who had originally assembled the bike. However Donovan remained pleasant and informative and did not criticize the other staff member. He checked every feature on the bike and fixed any deficiencies. We appreciated his knowledge and professionalism.

Note if the Dick's employees have a yellow badge, they have only been there less than 3 months. Almost all other employees have only been there less than a year. As big as Dick's sporting goods is they only represent 14 percent of total sports equipment sales. That is because there are much better choices.
