Fantastic fast-casual Indian food with phenomenal service! We stopped by Madras Mojo for a quick dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We were warmly greeted by the owner and offered samples of nearly every item. It was nice to try their dishes before selecting our entrees! We split the Butter Paneer, Spinach Paneer, and Eggplant mains. I liked how we could select our spice level for each dish. Everything was very flavorful, authentic, and perfectly spiced. Today, it was a Father-Son lunch and we explored the cuisine of Southern India at Madras Mojo in the Colleyville Market Street strip shops. It has been open for about 4 months. The owner and his wife were incredibly hospitable. Their restaurant is "chef-less", quick-service restaurant (QSR) concept, with the addition of "taste-before you select your dish". That is a novel but great addition for those who are not familiar with how Southern Indian food varies from Northern or other Indian regional cuisines. Madras is the old name for Chennai, India. The menu is laid out on a few menu boards and the diner stands in line before a table of steam trays and selects from the menu of prepared dishes. The server asks the diner their spicey heat preference and guides the diner through dishes and offers them to try a few of the dishes. The two options, where one (MM Classic) is one entry with rice or one bread and they other (MM Feast) is two options with rice or two breads. There were a couple types of rice to try also. We went with the "Feast" option. Mine was Pallipalayam Chicken and Chukka Chicken with Kongu Biryani Rice and a side of Chapati bread. My son selected the Pallipalayam Chicken, Dal Makhani lentils and the Biryani Rice. On my next visit, I plan on selecting a meat entry and a vegetable entry. A +1 on the past reviewer's comment about less rice and larger portion of the entry(ies) or a bread. NOTE: Monday is GOGO Half-Off on chicken dishes but there are also coupons in AddPages.com to clip for the restaurant. Also, self-serve drink station is coming. There currently is a small selection of beer or non-alcoholic bottled beverages. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is inviting, as are the staff. There are ample tables and booths but also a few outdoor tables with umbrellas and there is always the carry-out option. I would give the place a 4 out of 5 for this visit. read more

From the moment I walked in, the owner greeted me warmly and walked me through the menu. He offered 7 samples and explained the differences in Southern Indian cuisine compared to the Indian/Nepalese cuisine that most of us are used to. This is Southern Indian food, so don't expect naan - they serve parotta instead, and it was so delicious - flaky, buttery, slightly crisp on the outside, and soft inside. I ordered the Pallipalayam chicken and spinach paneer - the whole dish was warm, comforting, and full of flavor. I also sampled the chukka chicken, goat chukka, and eggplant - everything was good! The flavors are really rich and satisfying for a Chipotle style dining - feels like a home-cooked meal. And they made it palatable for everyone - not spicy, but bold and rich taste. read more

Interesting food options. I think I'd like less rice and maybe add a little side of bread instead. I tried many samples before landing on a choice but I wish I'd gotten something more creamy and less spicy. The brown rice is a bit too spicy for my liking. Hopefully they add ice tea and a self serve drink station. When I went, the only diet choice was Diet Coke. I'm thinking decor might be added the longer they stay open. No real complaints but I'm not sure I'll go back. read more

Tonight my dad and I tried this cute little decorated spot in his neighborhood. We walked in and all the staff was so kind in offering samples for us to try and explaining the menu for us and the spice levels as well. After we decided what protein/veg and rice we were good to go! The food was so tender and amazingly seasoned. The rice is beautiful and felt like home. We will definitely be back soon! This new location is the first attempt for the owners at a restaurant. You are greeted by friendly faces and encouraged to sample any of the offerings before you order; a great innovation. Offering are either mild or medium in heat level, nothing "hot." Even so, everyone's spice level is personal and the chance to taste before you eat helps you navigate to your selection. I chose the mild butter chicken with the white rice and found it delicious! The butter chicken is well seasoned with a smooth and creamy buttery sauce, with a very tame level of heat. I wish I had asked for my rice to be drenched with the silky smooth butter sauce, it was so good! Next time! This place is seriously good. If you're looking for solid Indian food in Colleyville, Madras Mojo is a must. The vibe is clean and chill, and the staff is super friendly and helpful, especially if you're not totally sure what to order. The food comes out fresh and hot, and you can tell they actually care about how it's made. The dosas are crispy and flavorful, and the chutneys are addicting. Everything about Madras is fantastic. The food is outstanding, portions are good for the price. But the service is what stands out. Many restaurants don't take service or hospitality very seriously these days and every time I walk into Madras I feel like I walked into a friend's house who invited me over for lunch and is excited for me to be there and enjoy what they cooked for us. My husband and I tried this new Indian restaurant the other day. We were looking for something quick and on our way home from the gym. We tried several of the dishes and both types of rice. This was my first visit to Madras Mojo and I was super excited to try it. It's hard to find good Indian food in this area, but thankfully it's finally here. Since it was my first visit, they explained about the food and what they offered. To my surprise, they allowed you to taste test some of the dishes beforehand so you would know if you like what you are getting. I tried the Chicken Pallipalayam and it was really delicious with a little bit of heat to the spices. Not too spicy, but just right. I also tried several others, but I would have to say my top two were the Cashew Chicken and, of course, the Butter Chicken. The Cashew Chicken is not at all spicy, but still very flavorful and the sauce is a creamy delight. The Butter Chicken is exactly what you would expect. It's flavorful, spicy and creamy. I chose the white basmati rice to complement my meal and it was perfectly cooked. My only disappointment was that they were either out of Naan bread or have decided not to offer it. I love a good Naan. The staff were all very nice and helpful. It was almost noon and it was not very busy yet, so it was rather quiet. It maintained some of the decor from the previous business at this location which made it feel familiar, but also new at the same time. I'm hopeful that once the word gets out about this place that it gets extremely busy. This is the perfect place for a quick taste of Indian food and I can't wait to return. read more
