Nice visit tonight at the Gurkha Bar and Grill. We'd seen the great Yelp reviews and finally got a chance to make the trip to Euless to try it out. The restaurant sits in a commercial complex next to a supermarket, lots of easy parking. Inside a dozen or so tables and a full bar with baseball, soccer and other sports showing. Service was prompt and friendly, with our server explaining the menu. I had the tandoori chicken, which was perfect. Appetizers were awesome and the prices were right. Extensive menu, all types of offerings from the usual tikki chicken to goat and lamb dishes. All in all a great place to visit for legit Nepalese and Indian Food. read more

The dishes that we ordered were great. We asked for a medium spice level. Everything was perfect. There was a great flavor profile with just the right amount of heat. Got takeout from here for lunch on a weekday and the service was fairly fast. I ordered the butter chicken and an order of the regular naan. The naan was a pretty decent size and butter chicken had multiple chunks of chicken so I do think it was a good amount of food. The butter chicken was flavorful and really hit the spot. Best decision for a Friday date night evening was to try this local Indian restaurant. We have passed it many time but first time to stop in. Small space, clean and nice wait staff. They do a lot of carry out (like most places post-COVID-19), which was a good sign. We had vegetable samosas and chicken momo for appetizers and we were not disappointed! Nice neighborhood spot for Nepalese and Indian food. I'm not usually a vegetarian, but I love paneer dishes. Gurkha has several on the menu I haven't tried anywhere else. Got the matar paneer for lunch and really enjoyed it - wonderfully flavorful and spicy. There's a bar there - although I saw what looked like beer taps, the manager said they only have bottles and cans. Baby I dipped that delicious garlic naan into that butter chicken and it just did something for my soul. Of course I had rice cause who out here not eating rice?! Not me! I do not know what is in the butter chicken sauce, but when it hits my tongue, I just close my eyes and savor the flavor baby. I don't know who Nani, Nana, Dadi, or Dada up in that kitchen cooking, but I sure appreciate it. My Fatty McGee self did not even take pictures of the food due to inhaling it so fast. That Kheer is something I never had before, but why was it so good?! I wasn't overly sweet like rice pudding. I've been ordering out from this place frequently during the pandemic, and they've never disappointed me. My order is always correct, hot, and fresh. My typical order consists of Lamb Vindaloo (my favorite Indian dish!), veggie samosas, some bread (I switch it up as to which kind), and some dessert (also usually switch this up). Today I had the bhattura (fried bread) as my bread option, and gulab jamun as my dessert. The order usually takes a bit to prepare, which is fine with me because that means it's being made to order, fresh! However, it doesn't take a super long time. Just be sure you're willing to wait a bit more than say, most Chinese spots, sandwich places, or fast food. The vegetable samosas are HUGE. It's hard to dip them into the chutney because they're so big - but I'm definitely not complaining. Filled with potato, peas, green chilis, spices, and plenty of other ingredients I won't claim to be familiar with, they're flavorful and delicious every time. Now, the bhattura fried bread is sooo good. Of course fried food is always tasty, right?! Perfect level of crispy on the outside and soft inside. I usually tear it and dip the pieces into the sauce in my vindaloo. Next up, I always get the lamb vindaloo for my main entree. I don't know what it is about this dish, but it's slightly addictive so beware! You'll dream of it from time to time and wake up craving it. It's spicy so if you are sensitive to that - I would not suggest it. It's not so spicy that you're left with a mouth on fire for a long time, though, so it's just the right level of spice for me personally. They don't skimp on the amount of lamb or potatoes they put in it either so it's a great value! The basmati rice that comes with it is always fluffy and well cooked - neither dry or soggy, but exactly how it's supposed to be. Okay - if you're in need of a delicious yet simple dessert that isn't so rich it'll rot your teeth - gulab jamun is perfect. I find that many desserts that originate outside the USA tend to be less sweet and not overwhelming, and I like that. It's sweet (I think honey is the sweetener?) without being overwhelming, and comes in 2 pieces which is plenty for me. I hate having leftover dessert because I rarely ever go back to the fridge and finish it, so the rest goes to waste. Not so with gulab jamun so I'm a happy diner! So, so, so good. Food is on point they make their own naan and yes the regular naan is awesome, but i will recommend trying the Wheat version, is different but really good too. I tried a different dish today, asked my server between Lamp Korma and Lamb Saaswala, well she was spot on with her suggestion Even if you are not very keen on spinach this dish is amazing. Nothing we tried were didn't like. We found out favorite Ondian, Pakistani, Nepali place. Awesome lunch buffet. It's not a big spread, but all the regular players are there (paneer, pakora, tikka masala). They offer garlic naan at no extra cost. It's the best naan I've had at a buffet. The only thing missing that makes them fall short of perfection is that service can suck. The male servers I've had are really good. The restaurant is a little gem in the corner of Kroger complex. It's very easy to miss as it is in the corner, with barely 2 fronts( one for restaurant and another for reception hall). The restaurant is still in "soft opening", however I was surprised to see that they were offering that many items. We started with draft Deep Elm IPA and bhatmas sadheko (fried soya beans seeds with minced onion, garlic, ginger, coriander and raw mustard oil) followed by chicken pakaura (deep fried chicken battered in gram flour) and it was just the right start. The beer and food was then followed by momo ( you can't go to a Nepali restaurant and miss this) and we absolutely loved it. The final entree Chicken Korma was very rich in flavor and texture. Wow, just wow. Visiting family in the HEB area, and we were searching for something new to try. What an amazing meal we had. Vegetable Korma, Dal Makhana, Sizzling Grill, Vegetable Pakora and Naan. (I saved the receipt so I would remember the names!) It was all incredible. In addition to the garlic naan, we ordered a Peshawori naan that was stuffed with fruit, coconut and some other magical ingredients. Service was quick and friendly. Enjoyed the Dal Soup and Johl momo dumplings. Both were excellent and had great flavors. Not sure if he was the owner but the man behind the bar was very nice and the wait staff was very attentive.
