We love Curry's Indian Cafe. It has been consistently delicous whether we've eaten in their small dining area or have picked up to go. What we have ordered and enjoyed are: Samosas, Shirmp Pepper Fry, Chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken (literal 10 out of 10), Chicken Korma, Kadai Chicken, and Malai Kofta. We will venture to try the other dishes, but these have been easy choices for us, as we have enjoyed them time and time again. read more

We moved to Flower Mound earlier this week and this is the first Indian restaurant we have visited. This is absolutely to be considered a "hidden treasure"! I was suggested and introduced to this restaurant by my boyfriend so we came to eat lunch. We both love Indian food and ordered some Garlic Naan bread, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Palak Paneer. Okay so I'm a huge fan of Indian, first time here and it was honestly really disappointing because of how good the reviews are.... -We ordered lamb biriyani, lamb was dry but the flavor is nice. -We ordered chicken tikka Marsala and it was overwhelmingly loaded with cardamom... like it was the only thing I tasted, the sauce was not balanced at all.... I've never tasted a chicken tikka Marsala that was this heavy with the cardamom. -We also got lamb vindaloo, pretty average, not the best and not the worst vindaloo I've ever had. -Garlic naan was really good though -BUT THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THE SIDE OF RICE WASNT BIRIYANI, it was regular cheap white rice. read more

I was really excited to try this place because of all the great reviews. I came to the area from out of town and they were very nice, gave me a tasty lentil soup while I waited for my to go order too. I got to my hotel room expecting deliciousness. What I ate was far from it. The rice was good, the sauce was good but the core ingredient "chicken" was gross. I'm assuming It was dark meat and had a weird taste and texture. Ordered a hefty first meal for takeout. Everything exceeded our expectations! Mixed veg pakora (didn't care for the tamarind sauce, the mint one was really refreshing - wish they offered more sauce with the portion of pakora given but still yummy) Butter chicken - medium spice - rice (accurate spice level with nice heat, definitely tempted to go a step up but know I'll be chugging water) Butter chicken - mild spice - rice (awesome, picky eater boyfriend had no complaints) Palak paneer (the spinach base wasn't my cup of tea compared to another place but it was still delicious) Extra regular naan (boyfriend inhaled, I definitely enjoyed) Mango lassi (YUM, best one yet!) Service: I didn't eat there but the food was immediately ready for grab. Guy was super nice handing and confirmed everything in the order. We were about to walk out and he stopped us to give some straws. Also, if you order take out, they pack every item NICELY! The drink was entirely wrapped in plastic and secure with lid shut shut. Ambiance: it's more of a fast casual eat and go - definitely family based and nothing crazy inside - does the job and with comfort. I do takeout mostly anyways but it gave me nostalgic vibes of other mom and pop shops with middle eastern and Asian cuisine shops. Don't let the interior deter you, it's a really good joint. Now that my favorite Indian food in the neighborhood is sadly gone (Wild Mirchi), I've been going back and forth between Curry's and Curry Hut (which is a little closer to my house). While most reviewers seem to have a strong opinion favoring one or the other, for me it really depends on the dish. Overall the prices here are reasonable and the portions generous, they definitely have more meat in each curry serving than Curry Hut does which is a plus. On the "which do I like better" side, like I said, it depends on the dish. I can't make any judgment as to authenticity because I've never been to India, so all this is going to be colored by my 25 years or so of U.S. curry eating experience and my own personal tastes and pre-conceived notions about what each of these dishes should be like. Chicken Tikka Masala - Curry's is a lot creamier, Curry Hut's has more tangy sauce. Personally I'm into the tangy so I prefer this dish at Curry Hut (where it's particularly good, though not quite as good as Wild Mirchi's was), but the version here is still worth ordering. Butter Chicken - The one at Curry's seems like it's loaded with heavy cream and tastes more like a pasta sauce to me than a curry. It's still really tasty. The one at Curry Hut has almost a Korma like flavor profile heavy on the cardamom (but their B.C. is actually better than their Korma these days). All in all, I think the flavors are more complex at Curry Hut so I'll also give it the win but still, it's quite tasty here. If you put the BC & TM next to each other here you might be able to tell the difference but I haven't had them at the same time, from memory I'd just say the cream tastes heavier on the BC. Saag Paneer / Palak Paneer - Honestly, I don't think it's amazing at either place. Wild Mirchi's was simply amazing, but now I have to go to their Plano location to get it. I wouldn't really bother with it at either of these though, unless you prefer it a bit bland - heavy on cream but not heavy on the flavor/spice. (I'm not talking heat when I say spice, I like it with only a little kick but a LOT of flavor) Baighan Bhartha - Only Curry's has this dish at the moment as far as I can tell, and it is DEEEELICIOUS. Older online versions of Curry Hut's menus had it but it doesn't appear to be there now unless I'm just crazy and missing it. This is my favorite dish I've had from Curry's hands down at this point. It is simply bursting with flavor and none of the eggplant bitters you get when it's not prepared properly. I will order this dish every time I come here, and quite frankly, it's the main reason I'm going to keep coming here periodically! We ordered it from the Plano Wild Mirchi and while it was good I like Curry's version better. (I think Wild Mirchi's is much healthier, it didn't have cream and I think this one has a little.) Chicken 65 - I like Curry's a little better. Both are spicy, I like the extra veggies in the Curry's and the sauce just a bit better and if it's too hot dipping it in the extra BC cream works nicely to cut the heat. Samosas - Definitely prefer Curry Hut's. The ones I got at Curry's were a bit soggy and the filling was more like a paste than chunks of veggies, so this may be a personal preference. I like the crust crunchy and the veggies distinct. YMMV. Naan - Maybe I'm a pleb but it seems about the same at both places to me, but in any case it's good stuff either way. Service - Curry's wins, they are much faster to prepare the food. Curry Hut always takes a really long time. I've never dined in at either restaurant, neither is really ambiancey and duh, COVID. Anyway, as I try other things on the menu I will report back on my opinions, mainly so I don't forget. I tend to forget if I don't write it down. read more

We've been coming to this place for 7 years and used to have a 5 star opinion. In the last year or 2 we've had mixed reviews at best. Multiple times we have had to return to have them remake the food because the sauce was split or extraordinarily sweet. We started explaining on the phone what we would like before we came in and then checking it in the parking lot before we left because we drive 40 minutes to get this curry. Tonight my husband went and got our normal butter chicken and tikka masala and tested it before he left. It was extremely sweet again. After asking them to remake it, the owner/manager explained that they consider butter chicken and tikka masala for kids (why?!?) and that if we didn't want it sweet, we needed to have asked/ said that on the phone. (Why we would ask that I have no clue.) Even though ultimately the base is already made and there's no way to have it not sweet and he suggested we order chicken korma chicken curry instead - so, basically not order what we actually like. This place is not where you'd want to dine in, it's got 6 tables and pretty low key. I'd highly recommend you stop by and order to go! The lamb vindaloo, chicken vindaloo, samosas, Gobi Manchuria were all DELICIOUS! Enough for leftovers. I snagged a menu so I could research for my next visit. Baingan Bharta is a smoky eggplant stir fry. Aloo Mutter is a stir fried cauliflower potato medley. Quite sure their garlic naan is amazing, built on that homemade naan! The ownership of Currys had changed late in 2021, and unfortunately so has the quality. Currys was previously my go-to destination in DFW not just for Indian food but for any takeout food for that matter. I used to joke with the previous owners that I was their best customer (truth is that I probably was between my multiple visits during the week and my constant referrals). Their lamb stage was the best. They also used to have veg or non-veg lunch specials that were priced right. Unfortunately, the new owners have changed the taste, portion size and protein-to-carb ratio (where's the meat??). I was really hoping that the old owner's successful formula would carryover, but really don't have any positives to take away under the new ownership. I wouldn't even mind paying a premium if the food was the same as before. Advice to the new owner: please please take a page out of the old lesson book and bring the old Currys back. Delicious authentic Indian food! (At least I think authentic) I don't have expertise in that area. Maybe it's always better than the Indian buffets bc each dish we ordered came out steaming hot. Naan fresh. Very small place. Order at the front register and take a seat. The lady taking our order brought out free lentil soup. Very good. She spoke little English, so she would just set food down and walk away. So I'm guessing it was lentil soup. Service was fine. Nothing amazing or bad. They didn't say much besides take our order and then brought it out. They were busy enough on a Thursday night. Constant to go orders were being made while we sat there. Very few tables but half full. Fav dish so far : butter chicken (spicy level hot) we got med and it wasn't hot at all. Very tender meat. Garlic naan is a must!! So fresh! For a casual Indian restaurant which does most of its business to go - I give this 5 STARS! **** This is a newly revamped location and not the same as the previous Indian restaurant that was here. Small but new interior and appears very clean. A small display of baked goods is at the front counter. While I was waiting for my to-go order the owner brought out a cup of lentil soup that was GREAT! Took home curry chicken, chana masala, somosas, rice and naan - all very good. Every dish is approximately $10 but comes with either rice or naan and is a good amount for 2 people. Very authentic Southern Indian food that taste great! Just moved to the area and wanted to find a great Indian place and was really disappointed here especially for the dinner prices. My fav is chicken vindaloo so I ordered it. I got huge slices of chicken which were mainly dark meat that grossed me out. It appears the restaurant took a shortcut on making the vindaloo sauce because it tasted very similar to my wife's Chana masala sauce. Like they made a base sauce and then simply try to tweak it for whatever item you order. This place was more like fast food Indian to me. Delicious, generous portions with hearty amounts of protein, and a perfect spice kick (when you ask for it). We had the tikka masala, butter chicken, chicken biriyani, samosas (with chutneys), mango lassi, and rice kheer. It was less expensive than our usual go-to Indian place, but did not lack in any way. This place is DELICIOUS! Woman working behind the counter was very nice and when we had questions about certain dishes she explained what they were. You order at the counter and the food is brought out to you when ready. There was silverware and napkins out to grab and the drinks offered are canned or bottled water in a fridge. I'd never had it before but thought it was a very good and savory way to start out the meal. I had seen a lot of Indian restaurants offered samosas as an appetizer so we decided to give it a try to see what it was all about. I highly suggest trying them out if you haven't already. It's basically a fried pastry dish filled with potatoes and peas and I believe something else but I can't remember what, it had a good amount of spice and was served with two sauces. The green sauce was more savory while the red was sweet. I had the chicken vindaloo and it was everything I hoped for, the spices all went together so well. It had a bit of a kick but I didn't feel like it was too much like I needed water after every bite or anything. They told us they could make any dish more spicy though for those who wanted it that way. It came with the choice or rice or naan. My fiance ordered the chicken curry and his was a bit more spicy than mine but he very much enjoyed it. His also came with the choice of rice or naan. He got the rice, I got the naan, and we split everything. In comparison to other Indian restaurants the food options here were less expensive especially for the amount of food you received. We each had enough left over to make a second meal so we ordered 2 extra sides of naan and got to go boxes to take the rest home. We are both looking forward to having the left overs for lunch tomorrow! Everything was brought out very quickly and everything tasted fresh.
