This is the best thai restaurant i have been to probably in ohio. I absolutely love this gem and would drive a half to hour to Lebanon basically weekly just to enjoy dinner there. We have been a couple times and I have been so impressed with everything we have ordered. Excellent sushi, tom yum soup, curries, and stir fries. Spice level 4/5 was spicy so if would definitely stick to level 1 or 2 if you prefer mild food. My first ever disappointing evening at Mae Ploy's. We arrived for our reservation and were seated immediately with menus and silverware set on the table, but not at the seats. Not a big deal. But, after 15 minutes or waiting and trying to grab the attention a passing server once, and the host as he passed by twice, we were done. We'll come back. Maybe it was just a bad night. This restaurant was a little bit of a drive from our hotel but was absolutely worth it! Drinks were tasty and gave us a good bang for the buck. For our appetizer, we enjoyed the calamari. The pieces were large, very crispy and not dry at all. For his entree, my husband had the Khao Soi. He was delighted with the depth of flavor and the level of spice. I ordered the pad ka pao, of course with the egg, for my entree. The variety and freshness of the vegetables were amazing. The pork was plentiful, had good seasoning and was cooked well. The sauce was totally delicious and complimented everything else in the dish. The owner(?) even stopped by our table twice to make sure we were enjoying our meal. One of our local favorites. Typical casual Asian decor. Nice menu with something for everyone. Noodle dishes are excellent. I like the Royal noodles with chicken. All of the curries are good. This was quite a pleasant surprise while looking for a new Thai Restaurant south of town. We located Mae's Ploy and thought we would give it a try. Situated on old Historic Lebanon 3 doors downs from the Golden Lamb. Mae Ploy tool residence is in an old bank and turned this into a delicious and unique Thai restaurant in the heart of historic Lebanon. When we first entered it we saw that it had a full bar (where the bank tellers used to be), two private dining rooms, and fairly large middle dining area. The ambiance was eclectic considering it was a refurbished bank turned Thai Restaurant. The noise level was moderate to to high. The service was initially slow at first based on how busy they were on a Saturday night. We waited well over 10 minutes for beverages. They made up for the slow pace of service by the quality and abundance of the foods we ordered. The dishes we ordered were made to perfection. This is now one of my favorite places to dine based on the quality of taste and presentations. We ordered numerous dishes from their house specialty fried fish, to red curry tofu, and two different rice noodle platters. All of the dishes were cooked to perfection and tastefully delightful. I would drive 40 minutes to dine here anytime. I highly recommend this restaurant based on the exceptional preparations of the dishes and how friendly everyone was during our dining experience. Although the service was a little lack luster at first they did indeed serve us some of the best Thai dishes I have had globally. I highly recommend this place for lunch and dinner or both. He made some good recommendations. The owner stopped by twice to check on things. That's always a good sign. We stared with the sample platter. Everything was great. Crab Rangoon's were great and a favorite of ours. My wife had the pineapple fried rice with chicken as recommended by the server. She loved it. Jeff recommended the Penang curry with pork. He said they use pork tenderloin. I got it at a three spice level but I got chili oil on the side. Definitely will get a five level next time. Server was attentive, brought free refills and a refill to go. Price was very good especially in these times of stupidly high inflation. Great place. We will go again. read more

We went here for the first time last night, off a recommendation from a friend. The restaurant is small but makes the best use of its space! It was crowded, so we knew it was going to be good. The staff was extremely pleasant and very attentive, despite them being so understaffed that they only had to servers for the whole restaurant (they shared this information with us). The owner herself came over to our table twice and she was wonderful! A great business owner. The food came out very quickly, even the sushi. I have waited til my second visit to write a review and let me just say this is my new favorite Thai place around. The food both times was excellent and the service was very good. The owner came out and talked to me and she was so friendly and you could tell she takes pride in her business and takes care of her customers. (Edit: I've been here at least 10 times now and it's always great!) Pros: Excellent food Reasonable price Clean environment Well decorated Good atmosphere Friendly staff Did I say excellent food! Cons: There are non! Go here and you will be pleased! My first meal was the chicken pad Thai at a Thai hot spice level and an appetizer of chicken satay. I would recommend both of these and will get both again. I have attached pictures of both. My second visit I had the Penang Salmon. It was equally as good. I also got it in a spice level of Thai hot and it seemed a little more spicy but that's the way I like it. The curry sauce it was in was so good. I would recommend this to anyone that likes salmon. Basically you need to come here if you love Thai food like me! I'm a regular and have yet to find a dish that isn't great... and they have amazing sushi too so you can't go wrong. read more

Favorite restaurant around. We always take out out of town guests, and they request to go at each visit. Everything is fresh and delicious. Best fried rice I have ever had. The food is not rushed, so be prepared to wait longer than a chain restaurant. Owner, who may also be cooking or serving, often visits you tableside. Definitely recommend! read more

Went there for Mother's Day. Waited half an hour to be seated and they seated us in a back room. We were the only table seated in that room at the time. We were ignored for half an hour so we got up and left. I won't be back. This was the worst service ever. No service at all. They didn't even give us a glass of water or a menu or anything. My wife and I went for lunch. We started with the egg rolls and crab rangoon. In a word, GREAT! The egg rolls were tightly packed and not falling apart. Delicious crab rangoon, hand made. We had Chicken with Cashews and Pork Pad Thai. Bother were nice sized portions and were savory and spectacular. My wife is usually a picky eater with chicken, but every piece was hand sliced to perfection. The Pad Thai was perfect. The atmosphere was setup for COVID. They had barriers up between tables. There also seem to be a few area that are separate rooms. It was cozy. Our waiter was by himself, but we felt like we were his only table. He was attentive and offered some suggestions.
