Decided to try this Thai place for the first time last week and wow was it delicious! The flavors of everything are just very good and everything's made fresh. The first time we went, there was a Saturday evening so the service was a little slow and there only was like one worker and she was pretty much handling everything taking orders getting orders out, checking out people, etc. The second time we visited, the service was much faster as the restaurant was not as busy on a weekday evening. We came into Mae Sae with a big party on a Saturday during our trip to Temecula. We had a party of 10, so I called ahead and they were very friendly and accommodating, getting us a table as soon as we needed for the amount of people we had. The inside of the restaurant is very decorated, and although on the smaller side had a very nice vibe. Our server was quick to get all of us sat and had waters and hot water out fast. We ordered a large array of dishes, and almost all of them were great. Some of the standouts were the papaya salad, crispy pork, and tom yum fried rice. Our whole table was blown away by the tom yum fried rice. It had a very well done wok flavor and texture to the rice while still accurately capturing all of the classic flavor notes of a tom yum. From what we know, everything just tasted very high quality and authentic. We just wish we lived closer so we could come eat here again. If we are ever in the area I'm sure we will! read more

Checked this place out based on their menu items and the good reviews. Located in a huge plaza with plenty of parking. Upon entering there was only 1 waitress who was doing everything from taking orders, bringing out orders, ringing people up, and bussing tables so it was a bit of a small wait to get a table as she was solo. There were a few small parties she was tending to when we got there. Give the cook a raise! Everything we ordered was delicious! The cook named Thoum perfected all flavors and the food came out all together in a timely manner. We ordered the crispy noodle lard nah, beef pad see ew, and nam ngiao. Pad see ew and crispy noodle lard nah were delicious in flavors. The only thing with the lard nah was it contained too much gravy sauce so maybe less on that but overall still fire. It was my 1st time ever having nam ngiao. I don't think I've ever had it homemade or even seen it at any restaurants. I was curious and so glad I gave it a try it was hearty packed with a hefty amount of protein but yet the broth was light and refreshing. It contained pork ribs and pork blood tofu which was my 1st time having that as well. It was like a spongy texture like the pork blood was dehydrated and fermented. It was good! We also got mango sticky rice for dessert which was a perfect ending to our meal. Not too sweet just the way I like it. All the decorations inside were so cute even down to the water cups. The cold weather in Temecula had me craving something warm and soupy, and after browsing nearby restaurants, I decided to try Mae Sai. The Kao Soi on the menu looked very tempting, so I ordered it. When it arrived, the portion was generous, especially the chicken, and it came with pickles on the side. However, the soup was quite sweet for my taste, and the sweetness overpowered the other flavors (ps: I have tried this menu on other Thai resto and have better taste - to my opinion). Upon entering the restaurant it gives a very humble small family vibe eatery. It's not a huge restaurant so if that's what you're looking for this is not the place for you, but that's how I knew the food was gonna be BOMB. The service was a little slow because it was a one woman show this night, but I did not mind because the ending results was a delicious ending. I went here not knowing how good it was or anything, just hungry and had a craving for some Thai food. I wondered in blindly was was pleasantly welcomed by the server. You grab a menu and sit down at any table of your cosen and in totally cool with that. Before I get to the fold I must say the music was in point and they even had a tv playing some cartoons for kids over head which can be a nice touch. The inside was beautifully painted within theme of the restaurant and I love that kind of stuff. Now for the food, excellent. We had my current favorite the Pad Woon Sen and some Basil fried rice. We added seafood to them and was happy that none of the seafood was over cooked and remained tender. Everything tasted fresh. I was also happy they had fresh Thai chilis for those of us who like to order Thai spice like myself. This Amps up the heat without unbalancing the flavor and they executed beautifully. This place is a must do if you like Thai food. Very nice and colorful interior with umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. There's seating outside, two tables for two. So much to choose from....we had yellow curry with chicken (one of my favs) pad Thai with pork and vegetables. Accompanied by sides of delicious white rice. We had tea! Most Asian restaurants have gotten away from pots and give you glasses or some kind of cup. Mae Sai had pots with real tea in a strainer. We love that. The service is very good. Love Mae sai. I often get their fried chicken & papaya salad with sticky rice combo. Such a cool presentation when you dine in. Their chicken krapow is delicious & flavorful with the yummy crispy fried runny egg. I honestly need to explore more & stop ordering the same things. My friends however really enjoyed their pad se ew & all the pork belly dishes on the menu. I did try the eggplant dish & the pad se ew. The pad se ew was yummy & a little sweet. The eggplant had a great flavor but I wished the sauce was a little thicker so it clung to the meat & veggies more. Service is great. This place changed a few times over the last few years. It used to be my favorite go to for Hawaiian food, then it became 'Ano Thai'. But they haven't changed the sign as of February 2025 so the sign still says 'Ano Thai'. So don't get confused. lol I honestly didn't get to try 'Ano Thai' that much since they didn't stay long, so I can't compare if they are the similar. Mae's Mini Thai food is meritable and worth mentioning. From the exterior it has that very good Feng Shui feel. The design of the sign and the ability to "see it all" from the exterior is appealing to me. It's not a large sit down restaurant like Ari's Thai food in Glendora, but nevertheless the way the name marquee presents and the pictures of the dishes on the wall are all simply done, a small window where the chef can peek at you reminds me of a very mom and pop type of place. We did "DoorDash" and picked up our food that was, btw on time and ready as promised when we arrived. We tried all new dishes and all were very delicious. I am not one for too spicy and I liked that they had many options from very mild, mild, etc... To probably flaming hot, but I'm one for mild so I didn't explore beyond the second choice.. Very pleasantly surprised at the variety of vegetables and the number of dishes they offer. I wish I had taken pictures, but since it was take out and we were in a rush I didn't have a chance, but I'm sure we'll be back, so next time I'll snap a few to share. The food was definitely 9/10. The only reason I give a 9 is because of the prices but even then its understandable with why the foods are on the pricier side. The customer service was amazing. Offered us everything we needed. They close at 8:30 and only had take outs at the time I went hut even then they wlecomed us and didnt get mad or make us feel rushed. My only complaint is how far this restaurant is from me! We stopped by on our way back to SD from a desert trip. Was amazed to find an amazing authentic Thai food in Temecula. We ordered the Krapow Kai Dow with pork and the Kua-Kai from the Mae Sai specialty. Both dishes were perfect. Cooked super fresh and with the right amount of heat. The green beans from the Krapow Kai Dow were especially fresh. Service was great and you can tell the staff are very attentive to their customers. There were a lot of families coming in and out with both dine-in and take-out orders. The restaurant itself is a bit small but has larger and smaller tables. The Pad Thai noodles were globbed together and there was no discerning sauce on anything. The egg rolls also were tasteless as were the cream cheese wontons. The Pad Thai was bland and rubbery. We tried Mae Sai Thai today. It's located in the Food 4 Less shopping center off Ynez. There's plenty of parking, but you might have to park farther since there are other restaurants beside it. We tried the Pineapple Fried Rice w beef, Chicken Pad Thai, and Beef Pad Sew. All were delish, except I wasn't a fan of the raisins in the fried rice. What stood out was the peanuts. I had asked for peanuts on the side, and when I sprinkled it on, it gave the Pad Thai smokey taste. Then I realized the peanuts were probably roasted and fire seared. I liked it, it was different, but good!! They also have vegan options (since i was feeling tofu), which I was going to get, but kids wanted meat. This place is a real gem. Having just come back from Northern Thailand(vacation) this place served the same amazing flavors. The service was good and attentive. The portions were generous. The food was super tasty. One negative, I asked for my meal to be "Thai Spicy" which is extra spicy and it came out with no spice at all. Not sure why, but every Thai place in Temecula is like this. Had dinner at Mae Sai Thai last night. It was my first time here. It is a small place, but when we arrived at about 8:00pm there were about 3 or 4 available tables. The decor was colorful and fun with parasol umbrellas on the ceiling and bright murals on the walls! Our server was helpful and friendly. I first ordered a Thai tea lemonade, but our server suggested I may want to try it first because she said it made some people "feel strange". I opted not try it and went with a Thai green tea instead. I also ordered the pad se ew noodles with chicken. My noodles were very good. I really liked that they were not overly salty as this dish can be in some restaurants. I also enjoyed the fresh, bright veggies in the dish, particularly the Chinese broccoli. The bowl seemed small at first, but I actually was not able to finish it because I was full. My Thai green tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. My husband really enjoyed his cashew chicken (he said he gives it a 5 star rating). Good food, friendly service, cute restaurant and reasonable prices. read more

Thai Tea is probably some of the best I've ever had, especially in Temecula! Plus, it comes in a huge cup. Inside is quaint and decorated nicely. It smells amazing like a home kitchen. Huge menu with so many great sounding items. I'd highly suggest the Maesai Special menu items! We got the Thai beef jerky, orange chicken, and M18 Som Tum combo- fried chicken thigh . Beef jerky was tender and delicious. The dipping sauce was amazing. The orange chicken was crispy, and sauce was added on top super fresh and yummy. The fried chicken thigh was plated in such a cool way (see photo) super fresh and hot. Good spice. We were greeted upon entering, and our order was taken shortly after being seated. I ate at Mae Sai tonight in a party of 14 visiting from San Diego, and I was quite impressed with the service! We came in not knowing the restaurant was as small as it is. Our server (didn't get her name) seemed to be the only one in the front of the house tonight, but thankfully she was undaunted by our large, loud group that was about to take over the restaurant. Most of the tables were open when we came in, and she single-handedly moved a bunch of small tables together so we could sit in one long table (we offered to help but she refused). The decor was super bright and cute. I liked the colorful umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and the rooster mugs that our water was served in. For as small of a place as it was (with a sign mentioning they were short-staffed), the service was quick and efficient. Our server advised us to eat our food as it came out, since the small kitchen didn't have the capacity to make all our entrees at once. But even with a slight stagger in plate delivery, they timed it pretty well. I ordered chicken pad Thai and Thai green tea. Both were good-sized and very tasty! I'd say this place passed my pad Thai litmus test. It's less spicy than a lot of Thai places; I ordered a medium and there was only a tiny kick. Everyone else liked their food and the experience too. Our server even split the check for us individually, which is a big ask for a party of 13. And she let us use the restroom in the kitchen that said "employees only." It was nice to feel such hospitality and welcome in a time when that's become harder to come by. The prices were fair (note that there's an 18% gratuity added to parties of 6 or more, plus a 4% credit card surcharge, so bring cash if you can).
