We came in here by chance because the other restaurant we wanted to go to was closed - and we were happy to give it a chance without even looking at yelp for the review! We had the Tom Yum soup (spice level 3) and it was perfect! I had to admit the presentation was meeh but the taste is chef's kiss! Service was good, he was a friendly guy and a smile. The place was clean and not big, it's a great spot for a quiet lunch. The fried tofu was good also- my husband does not eat cucumber so he dipped it in soy sauce. We stopped by Thai Orchid with one mission: get our hands on that ginger tea. And let me tell you... it did not disappoint! Spicy with the perfect touch of sweetness -- honestly the BEST way to kick off a meal. I'd come back for that tea alone! The service here was excellent. The gentleman taking care of us was incredibly attentive and made us feel well taken care of from start to finish. Love when staff actually care about your spice tolerance before setting your mouth on fire! They let us choose our spice level from 1-5, and we stayed at a max of 3 -- which was plenty spicy. Personally, I think 2 is that perfect harmony of heat without tears. Now for the food: * Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice: 9/10 -- Flavor was great, but they were a little shy with the shrimp. * Yellow Curry with Chicken: 9/10 -- Super tasty, but again, portions were on the smaller side compared to other Thai spots I've been to. * Drunken Noodles (my usual fave): 7/10 -- Sadly lacking in flavor, and I wish the serving was bigger... especially because this is my go-to comfort dish and I'm a big eater! lol Overall, I'm giving Thai Orchid a solid 4 stars for the amazing service, cozy flavors, and that unforgettable ginger tea. It was a late afternoon and as I walked in, not a person in the place.Hmmm... It was very clean, the interior was very nice. The lady behind the counter was very nice and friendly. I ordered the Green Curry, Eggrolls, and an order of Satay. I had never had Green Curry, so it peaked my interest. I ordered it mild so I could taste the genuine flavors. To my surprise, it was very flavorful. The vegetables were not overcooked and mushy. Even though the sauce in the curry was hot, this is gonna sound weird, but it tasted quite refreshing. The flavor popped at the back of the pallet, which instantly made me dip my fork back in the dish. The Satay was marinated perfectly. Not too salty and the seasonings were not too forward. The peanut butter sauce had a great level of peanut and coconut taste, and it wasn't too sweet. The eggrolls were right out of the fryer, and the sweet-and-sour sauce that accompanied it had a nice little spicy kick to it.. If you're looking for a nice Thai restaurant, look no further. It's clean, quiet, and the food is served hot, fresh and delicious.. You need to give Thai Orchid a try. read more

Came here for lunch , close by and wanted to give it a try. We were the only ones there so of course service was good. Inside was simple and clean. Nothing crazy fancy but it's decent size for seating, for I imagine when it gets busy. Not sure when that is. Either way, food came out quickly which is usually fine. Although, the noods we got, looked and tasted as if it had already been made and reheated. Also got their wontons as well. Doubt they make them there but they were good. This Thai restaurant was alright, the fried rice was good . Event though we got the spiciest level. It tasted average spice but no biggie. The only disappointment was the noods. I'm super picky about Thai Food and I just moved here from RC. The food scene is terrible in Murrieta but this Thai place is delicious! I ordered pick up and it was hot and fresh. I came here today for a lunch date with my friends and we were surprised that the place was pretty quiet and no customers at all. I tried the Green Curry with chicken in level 1 spice but it was still a bit spicy for me although it's pretty good if you like bamboo shoots and basil. Love this Thai place it's my go to for Tom Kha veggie soup level 4 or 5 spice. I only wish the veggies were bite size but that broth is amazing and the veggies are crisp! Food is amazing, very well prepared, 5 levels of spice to choose from. The only problem was the restaurant itself. There was no music playing or television or background noise of any kind. I had such a wonderful experience here today. 1. They have coconut milk available for their thai tea and dont charge extra 2. I asked if they could add fresh herbs (basil, cilantro, mint) to the fresh spring rolls and they did with no extra charge 3. My waistress Tiv found out I like sweet things and trying new foods and she brought out this little sample of a new sweetbean dessert the kitchen was testing out for me to try free of charge! 4. This broke my heart. We came here for dinner and it's probably been a good couple years since we've been, not sure if it's new owners or chefs? Nothing. Nothing was the same. No lemons in water with cute rose straw toppers, appetizers were definitely not made the same (especially the calamari), the food just wasn't good for us or worth the inflated prices. Almost $70 for 3 of us!! This used to be our favorite Thai food restaurant, our go to, never been elsewhere because we loved it so much. The shrimp pad Thai tasted oddly metallic plus a gross overuse of fish sauce. None of us liked it, barely touched it, forced myself to eat the shrimp that wasn't cleaned properly because we paid $4 extra for it. The Panang was overly spicy that my little couldn't even eat it even though we asked for no spice at all. I can make this at home and control the spices plus use fresh (not frozen) veggies. The calamari was cold and soggy, not the same batter or quality (see pics) and the veggie egg rolls was crisp on outside and mushy on the inside with no flavor at all besides a watered down sweet and sour sauce on the side. Sadly for the price we paid, we most likely will have to look for a new place to go. Service was great and attentive by the young male worker in the front. He tended tables, pick up orders and phone orders like a champ, only reason I gave an extra star. read more

We came in today for a early dinner and they were not busy. This place is clean and has plenty of seating available. No outdoor seating. We ordered spring rolls, egg rolls, basil beef, peanut chicken and chicken fried rice. They served our drinks in togo styrofoam style cups which I thought was kind of weird especially if you're paying to sit and enjoy your meal. I enjoyed most of the food that we were served. I wish that my basil beef had more sauce because they served a huge side of rice and I had not enough sauce to enjoy all the rice. There also was not a lot of beef in the basil beef. It's filled with more vegetables than it is meat. Our server was friendly and helpful and was attentive. I enjoyed my meal. I would come again. What we ordered... Drunken noodles with chicken - very good flavor and very tasty. Worth ordering again. Pretty good serving size. Pompano in garlic pepper sauce - the sauce on this is very good, specially on white rice. The pompano fish is nicely fried, wish they add a little salt upon removal from the fryer to add flavor. Without the sauce, it's just bland. The size of the fish is very small, enough for 1 person. These type of fish goes for $3.99-$4.99/pound but what was served is definitely a half pounder. Don't know if I will order this again. Not worth the price. Tom Kha seafood soup - very good balance of salty and sweetness of the coconut milk. Lots of shrimp, couple of mussels, some fish pieces and small squid slices. Not bad, taste good. Lots of lemon grass and mushrooms. Worth ordering again. This place makes the most authentic Thai tea. This I will buy again over and over. Hope they don't change the recipe. The service is very good, no issues. Plus she packs the leftovers to-go. The place is clean, pretty quiet place. My family of 9 came into this restaurant and when ask how big our party was, the waitress made a disgusting face as if our party size was too big for her restaurant. We asked if we could move a coupe of tables together to accommodate our party size, and was told NO! However the part of 7, who were already sitting down, had two tables pushed together to accommodate their family size. We said no problem, sat our family down, and waited over 15 mins--- no one came To our table for water or to greet us. After 20 mins, we decided to leave. Upon leaving, no one from the restaurant asked us why we were leaving or acknowledged us leaving. I get my hair done next door so I often order from here, while getting my hair done. When I place my order the staff is nice enough to bring it next door. Yesterday, I order tofu pad Thai. Me and my family drove from Los Angeles to this restaurant on an invitation. We ordered many plates and got to taste a lot of the menu together. Some of my favorites were the fried rice, the pad siew with chicken and the eggrolls! We had other items I would recommend like the coconut soup, pad tai and the fried chicken/fish. The portions of each plate are more than enough to share with a huge group. The current staff here is good. Our food came out fast and everything we ate was fresh! We cannot thank the servers and the chefs enough for an amazing experience. The price for food is more than fair. If you are looking for good quality Thai food.
