Had an OK to good lunch experience here with my son. We sat in a dining area that faced the river. I would recommend asking to be sat along the windows if you can reserve one. The service was somewhat slow, but the waitress was very nice. Their beer was in cans or bottles. I ordered a Head Hunter IPA and it had a date code from the summer, so their stock was a bit old. I split a bowl of crab bisque $15 with my son. It was ok on spices/flavor and had small strips of crab, but the body was on the thinner side and I didn't think it was creamy enough. A miss, plus the guy who brought it out must have had the soup shift on the walk over so he had his thumb on top of the spillage that went onto the rim. I should have sent it back, but we were hungry. The small cornbread muffins that we had before our meals came out were tasty. After discussing the lunch menu with the waitress she said the Yardley Burger was very popular. $19 - roasted tomato, boursin cheese, hand cut fries. My son ordered the chicken cutlet - $18 fresh mozzarella, vodka aioli and chips. He skipped the sauteed spinach that was supposed to come on it. They took awhile to come out. The burger had a ridiculous amount of boursin on it (plenty of herbs and garlic coming off it), the meat was bland and the hand cut fries were a tad soggy. Even the bun was weak, so for $19 they can keep it. My sons sandwich was much better. The vodka aioli flavor was a home run with the thick cutlets. Still not worth $18, but much better than the burger. I had a Yards Washington Porter with my burger that slightly helped my disappointment. This place only gets the 4th star because I love history and the building has it. It was just OK other than that. Love this place for happy hour! Get there early though because it gets absolutely packed. On my first visit, we sat at a little table in the corner of the bar, and it was so cute and cozy. The table was small so not ideal for a full dinner but it worked for drinks and apps. We ordered the Autumn Orchard cocktail and a Negroni plus the deviled eggs with trout and roe. Everything was delicious, our server was great, and the old-timey ambiance can't be beat. Since we loved it so much, we made a reservation for Christmas Eve brunch. Again, the decor and vibes were on point. Another lovely server as well. The drinks, a Winter Orchard and Pear Noel, were perfect. The food, however, was average. The butternut squash soup was exceptional but the crab cake Benedict was subpar. The crab cakes were more bready and soggy than meaty, and the breakfast potatoes were cold and not at all crispy. Cozy, cute yet dressy enough for jeans. Food was great. I didn't try the jalapeño poppers bc of the proccuitto but it looked good. Oyster has a different, almost drier saltier taste compared to the New Orleans style I'm accustomed too. Crab nachos were just okay.... Probably won't get them again. I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I have eaten there three times. The first two were delicious.i ate there two weeks ago and was disappointed. I ordered the short rib dinner. I ate them at a catered event in the restaurant and they were so delicious that i made them at home. This last time they were like a hunk of chuck roast with fat, not at all like a boneless short rib. My husband ordered the Yardley Inn burger, safe right? He should have read the description because it came with a huge hunk of cream cheese on top. Not appealing on the burger. I do like the atmosphere and our server was very nice. read more

This was my first time at Yardley Inn and it was a due to a recommendation from my fiancé. Her favorite spa is in Yardley so my aunt and I took a ride up with her and stopped in for lunch while she was at an appointment. We couldn't find it on their website but brunch is only on Sundays (we heard a couple of other guests ask about brunch while we were there too). We arrived to a packed parking lot and a very busy looking Inn. It appeared they had some kind of shower or event in a private room and there were plenty of available seats in the bar area. We were seated by the windows looking out over the Delaware river. We started with a coke and an iced tea (too early for drinks and we had a long drive home). Our server was great. He was very friendly, made decisive/confident (and great) recommendations, and had a really good memory. My aunt started with a cheesesteak with shaved ribeye and said she never had a cheesesteak like that before. She said the steak melted in her mouth. I ordered a burger per our server's recommendation and was very pleased with my decision. The patty was big and juicy, the bun was soft and buttery, and they didn't skimp on the toppings. Very solid burger in my opinion. We also both loved the French fries and it was clear they were hand cut in house. Prior to ordering I asked about the chicken cutlet sandwich for my fiancé and told our server we'd be placing a to-go order for my fiancé. As our food came out our server asked if we'd like to put in the order for the chicken cutlet sandwich. I thought that showed he was actively listening and attentive. Along with that he was very appreciative, personable, and professional. My fiancé also thoroughly enjoyed her sandwich and fries. While we have a long drive to the Yardley Inn, I'm sure I'll be back again. Next time I take the ride with my fiancé for another one of her spa days, I'll make sure to stop back in and try something else off their menu since our experience was so positive. read more

It had been some time when we came with a group of 6. The Inn is still very nice, drinks were ALWAYS overpriced, our group was overall satisfied with seating, appetizers, meals and service. I looked forward to trying the Iberico pork schnitzel SPECIAL. The Wagyu of pork. I had every reason to be hopeful, but it seems you can't get a good Schnitzel in the area. If you are a schnitzel fan and you are served a toasty "brown" schnitzel, just send it back. It's been slaughtered for a second time, it's dead, dead. If it's light colored and golden, that's good, just please request the lemon wedges that should come with, for an authentic schnitzel experience. The lemon cuts the fattiness and enhances flavor. The "sauce with capers" the Inn provided, just soaked into the breading and didn't provide the acidic bite for balance. A taste of butter in the breading from frying is a plus. The Inn responsibly offered remedies but we were in a group and had time constraints. I'm thinking if you're not a schnitzel fan, or adept at constructing the basic form, it's because you have never had a good one. read more

The hummus had a strange taste to it and the feta was nothing special. I had the fillet mignon which was garnished with a sour tasting sauce that didn't help an unseasoned piece of meat. This is a great and charming tavern in the quaint town of Yardley. I've been here before because my friend loves it. Today my good friend and I sat at the bar around two and had a great lunch. Spent over two hours. Excellent cheesesteaks and fries. A nice cocktail by the super friendly woman bartender who has an afternoon shift and loves her job. Past meals have always been top notch, but this was our first experience with Afternoon Tea at the Yardley Inn. Brett, our server, was amazing. Large group (15) went today, Thursday for lunch. VERY busy. Very hard to find parking in lot. Our server, Stacey was great. Food came out in timely fashion. My bacon wrapped dates were so well done they were like charcoal brickettes. Tasty, once you got past the burnt bacon. My beet salad was VERY bitter. Yes, the arugula was bitter but the dressing brought tears to my eyes. Left the arugula. Took the beets home to add to my salad. Two others also got the beet salad and agreed it was bitter. We came during the Yardley restaurant week. First the service was great! I sat at the bar and had a drink, the bartender was quick and also friendly. The Yardley Inn is a very nice place with usually good service. I cant complain about the food because it was good as usual - but you have some bartenders and workers that are just plan rude to the other younger people that work there. Sorry but that is a huge turn off for my family when I see people treating others rude in front of customers. Perhaps a training for your management would go a long way on correcting others in public places. If someone drops something or puts a plate down at the wrong person maybe some kindness will go a long way. The person most likely is upset enough. Your bartenders are just rude men! Sorry but this took away from our meal. We handed the young man a tip they deserved. Again, talk to your staff about treating others with respect! Food good but not the experience. read more

I lived in Yardley 37 years and it had been a long time since we had dinner at the Yardley Inn. We had dinner this evening with our family celebrating 2 birthdays. Unfortunately, I had a fillet with creamed spinach and baked sliced potato casserole. The fillet wasn't especially tender and although it was cooked perfectly, the quality of the fillet wasn't great. I didn't love the spinach or potatoes and found my meal very mediocre. Also our grandson had a steak sandwich-lots of grissle in the steak. Overall everyone else felt their meals were just ok. It's been quite a while since we've been back to the Yardley Inn and tonight it absolutely was a grand slam home run. Exactly the way in an evening out should be, especially when you're spending good money. My wife and I dined out with another couple this evening we came in early so we can have some enjoyable time before they got crowded and just relax which we did. Our server was very helpful very respectful overall the food was incredible beautiful plate presentations, and we all left Happy and fulfilled in our bellies. My wife and I start off by sharing the Springberry salad which was arugula mix greens with goat cheese spiced almonds white honey balsamic dressing it was absolutely delicious. For my entrée I had the Farro island salmon which was served with roasted baby carrots, sautéed spinach, cherry tomatoes, and a passionfruit butter sauce; it was fabulous. The husband of the second couple had the same and was equally as pleased. My wife had to handmade Ricotta Cavatelli- Beef and pork Bolognese and it actually was really tasty. It's refreshing to know that we have Yardley and in our backyard and we're looking for that exceptional meal with exceptional service and a fun night out. read more

Beautiful charming and historic place on the Delaware river. Hanger steak and Caesar salad with steak were both described as excellent. The cheesesteak I got was outstanding and one of the best I've had from a quality standpoint. The meat was tasty and appeared to be of higher quality than your typical steak/ pizza place. There was no gristle and meat was tender. Good ratio of cheese mixed in all on a fresh roll that supported it all well. The fries that accompanied were also very good. Key lime pie with a really thick graham cracker crust was delicious. This was a strong 4.5 but gets a 5 because of the beautiful view of the river read more

The service and staff were great though and after complaining about the food it was taken off the check. Bloody Mary's were good though. It was my father's 85th birthday and we reserved a table for 8. Right before we arrived, the Inn called and asked if we would like a private room and I said YES. It was unexpected but very pleasant and great to have this service. Location is right on the river with a view. We had 3 appetizers which included the cheese board, Cornmeal Fried Calamari, and chicken wings. For the entrée, my husband had the Braised Short Ribs, one of my brothers and I had the Greek Whole Roasted Branzino, and some of the family had the Seafood Lasagna and crabcakes.
