First time trying a Maggiano's and I'd say it underwhelmed. Went with a work friend group. The ambiance is beautiful, but food quality didn't impress or match that environment and the expensive prices. I went with the fettuccini bolognese, and it was just okay, but something definitely lacking in the sauce and flavor. I've had much better elsewhere. I sampled my friend's special Rigatoni and the vodka dish, and both of those sauces were much better than the bolognese. Another downside is it doesn't come with any side, soup or salad, so paying upwards of $30 for a pasta dish with no extras is a little stiff. A little bit of appetizer complimentary bread was provided but I wouldn't say enough for our table. My aperol spritz was solid.
Whim lunch with a friend. The hostess asked us if we had a reservation. I'm sure it's reflexive but it baffled us as there were hardly any people in the restaurant. We were led to a booth and Lotfi was our server. We decided on shrimp scampi and chicken fettuccine alfredo. The shrimp scampi was average. Sauce was a little too heavy for me but it was nice to have lunch with a friend. She liked her chicken fettuccine Alfredo and also ordered cheese raviolis to go. We enjoyed Lotfi's personality and service. It was very quiet in the restaurant so we were able to stay a bit and talk.
It was good. Salad was outstanding. Eggplant was a little crispy. Portions are big! Mall is dying.
Maggiano's is one of the few chains that I enjoy. Their decor is casual yet classy and the food is usually consistently good. Our service was also good this evening, even if the bar service took a long time. I had the zucchini frites - WOW! We all loved the crunchy texture on the zucchini and several of us agreed that it was the best we'd ever had. My margarita was beautiful but I feel like the foam was designed to hide the fact that you really don't get a lot of the actual drink. For my entree, I chose their rigatoni D, which was outstanding. My friend had the chicken Parmesan and hers was burnt. She didn't want to make a fuss and refused a replacement entree. Overall a good experience.

So I was in Denver for a conference last weekend, and found Maggiano's. Was very pleased with how quickly they took care of me, especially since there was a 20 top next to me as well. The calamari was awesome. And huge portions. It definitely caught me by surprise...the fettuccine was different (rosemary after flavor?), but the chicken was delicious. The entire restaurant was nice and relaxing. If I'm ever in downtown Denver again, I'll be back!
This place is close to our hotel and had great reviews. First the ambiance was amazing. It is a crooners era and with Linnen table cloths you have to know it was going to be nice. The prices are $$ but the food was wonderful. There were 6 of us and only waited a few min to be seated. The service was first class and Enrique was great. He was attentive and never let the water glass drop below 1/3. I had the spaghetti and meat balls the others had lasagna and fettuccine and the ravioli. All were wonderful. I will say the portions are large enough to share easily. The bread was a highlight and we ate a bunch of the. I would recommend this place early.
The ambience was lovely, the staff is very friendly and the food was plentiful! We had a party of six and had way more food than we could eat. If you get the family style, bring your appetite! Salad (huge, the Maggiano Salad was so good) Two appetizers (many to choose from) 4 different types of entrees (many to choose from) And desserts (4 to choose from) And the bread! Maggianos, what have you done? I've loved it here since visiting the original one in Chicago a couple decades ago. Something flipped for us this time. We are no longer thrilled. The bread they bring out beforehand changed. No more olive oil and spices, just butter. Ugh. The side Caesar salad was dry and boring and not even a little bit green. They used all the white yucky parts of the romaine. The chicken parm used to be pounded thin and cooked crispy as it should be, now it's too thick. The eggplant parm is dry with hardly any sauce. They removed other years-long favorites from the menu such as soups and the manicotti which disappointed us, but hey, that's all restaurants lately. Changing up the menu while making things worse instead of better. We were recently here to celebrate a special occasion. Things were taking long but it was a busy weeknight. Noise level was not too high. Lighting was dim so we had to use our phone flashlights to see the menu better but that's not a deal breaker. What sent us straight to Awkwardville was how they brought out half the table's orders while the other half of us waited for around 17 minutes as the food got cold. The waiter was friendly but he didn't hustle at all the entire evening. He did apologize for the delay in receiving the rest of the orders but never an admission of the mistake. In fact, he and the...manager...? said to us twice, "oh your orders are ready let me go see where they are." Really, guys? Don't insult our intelligence. Ya messed up! Then to top it off nothing was comped. Instead we received two small cards: written on them were pre-chosen free appetizers that expire in a couple weeks. Calamari? We don't eat calamari. What a lame attempt to make amends. I will end by saying the wine was fantastic as was the cheese ravioli and the crispy mozzarella. And they did give us an extra free dessert to go. I am not going to rush back here, that's for sure. The changes they made to menu items and recipes may help their bottom line but do nothing to keep us loyal. What a disappointment, but that's what you get with chain restaurants. One of our families favorites just went into the discard pile. Boo.
While staying in the area for work, we stopped in here for dinner on a Monday night and they were packed! It was because a huge conference was in town at the time. We made reservations and were promptly seated when we came in, but our service was so very delayed. Our server was great though, very helpful and engaging, but his service was sparce due to all the tables he was having to manage. One example - It took us 15 minutes to get the pitcher of sangria we ordered. This is way too long for our first drinks. The food was decent. I did have some gristle in my chicken parm and it was in an odd place, in the middle of the meat, not the side. But the sauce and food tasted great otherwise. We also tried their Rigatoni alla Vodka was outstanding! The flavors of the sauce were incredible (and we just got back from Italy a couple of weeks ago!)!! Save room for dessert - We tried their Warm Apple Crostada and that was FABULOUS!!! Out server was great... we told him we were surprised about the poor service (due to wait) and he agreed and told us it's not usually like this. We said there was a huge conference in town and it seemed like management didn't properly prepare for that and he pretty much agreed with us. So, it seems the issues we dealt with were due to poor forecasting and scheduling on the part of management. Overall - I'd most definitely return, the food was good.
Definitely my favorite Italian restaurant in town. Always go there for the Crispy Mozzarella and the Grand chicken Parmesan. Service by our server was outstanding are plates were always perfect and our drinks always topped off. All staff polite and friendly. The ambiance was set bu the very talented pianist. Qe always get the family meal. And always dine in here on our the most special events.
Met up with family at Maggiano's on Nov 15, and the place nailed it for a big group dinner. Portions were massive -- definitely worth the price. I went with the gluten-free pasta and marinara, which was solid, but the real winners were the calamari and mushroom appetizers. Those disappeared fast. We had a big round table that made chatting with everyone super easy, and the whole place was already dressed up for the holidays -- warm, festive, and honestly pretty charming. Overall, an easy 5 stars. Great food, great space, great night.
So on my last night in Denver, I went to this restaurant with four other people. Our plan was to grab some food here and casually chill while enjoying a few drinks. Yeah, uh... none of us were fully prepared for what was to come. It all started innocent enough. We got the menus. We ordered some drinks. We decided on what we were going to get. I decided on the Fettuccine Alfredo. I think another person in my group was planning to order the same. That all changed when it came time to actually order. Noticing that we had five people in our group, our server suggested that we order their "Famous Family Style Experience" for $50 per person. With this option, you could theoretically get unlimited orders of salads, main courses, and desserts. Everyone in our party thought it was a no-brainer to go with this deal, me included. Earlier that day, I had spent $30 on a crappy continental breakfast at the hotel down the street so I was like, let's go! We ordered a number of things off the menu including both the Maggiano's Salad and Chef's Signature Ceasar, Crispy Mozzarella, Italian Meatballs, Rigatoni Alla Vodka, Lasagna, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Chicken Parmesan. We thought we were good. That we could handle this. We definitely didn't think anything was off when they started us off with the breads. What followed, however, was absolute madness. They brought out four large plates of salads. Two plates of the house salad and another two plates of the Caesar. I swear to you, each plate could serve two or three people. Not long afterwards, they started bringing out the main courses. It was an endless parade of large dishes coming out in twos. We could not keep up. The servers had to start combining plates to free up space on the table. We didn't put a dent in any of the dishes and we were trying our best to not be wasteful. After all that, one crazy son of a b in our group said that we should get dessert. I was not in any state of mind to even entertain dessert at that point. Neither was my stomach. However, the group decided on getting dessert and it came out anyway. All at once. Tiramisu, New York Style Cheesecake, and Butter Cake. To no one's surprise at this point, they came out in twos. I couldn't even tell you how most of the dishes tasted. I was too distracted by all that food in front of me. All I could remember was that the meatballs were tender, and delicious, but the Rigatoni Alla Vodka was too salty, and the Fettuccine Alfredo was too watery. Looking back, I think that our group could have handled the experience, and yes, it was an unforgettable experience, if the portions were a lot smaller. I mean, we couldn't even get through half of anything we ordered. And this was supposed to be all you can eat. Word of caution to anyone thinking of taking on this, shall I say, challenge. Come with a large group. Bring everybody. Because as much as this is an absolute steal of a deal, it's going to be an absolute shock to your stomach. read more

We decided to come here for dinner before our show. While it looks fancy, we were dressed very casual cause we just came off of work. They offer a meal for 2 deal and it wasn't a bad deal. It included 2 entrees, dessert, and an appetizer. Service was friendly and food comes out quick. Food was pretty good - nothing too wild or crazy. The pasta was pretty tasty and you do get a lot of food. I appreciate that the pasta dish did have a lot of sauce as well. The appetizer was pretty good - the pieces were small. Dessert was okay, nothing memorable. Overall, I thought it was a good dinner and if we're in the area, we'll stop by. read more

Jaron was our server and was so nice and polite and attentive. The food was delicious and the ambiance was perfect for my sister and I to have a farewell dinner before she flies home. We split the mozzarella, spaghetti aglio olio and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Everything was delicious! read more

The staff were friendly and very accommodating! Because of my food allergies, they set me up with the lemon herb salmon and asparagus. Very good! It had a lot of flavor. read more

It was okay. Not wonderful, and not bad. We started with the bruschetta, and it was very large slices of toast. And it was definitely more of a toast texture than crostini, which my husband liked but I didn't as much. Toast didn't hold up to the moisture of the tomtatoes as well. The flavor was very nice though. I tried the seafood linguine (which I was hoping was a frutti di mare) and all the seafood was overcooked. So I switched to the fettuccine bolognese and it was delightful. The pasta tasted fresh and the sauce was very sumptuous and rich. Loved it. read more

This restaurant blew not only my socks off but my pants. Never have I ever had a meal that made my cry. Service was fine, wasnt expecting much when i sat down. But boy. Thank god I dont live in Denver because I would probably get really obese from coming here every day. If Drake came here he would definitely write a song about it. Came here for dinner before concert. Wow! Dinner was surprisingly delicious! Some things I've noticed that changed and stood out was the complimentary bread basket. It used to be fresh bread with side of oil and balsamic vinegar dipping. They need to bring that back for an Italian venue! Don't get me wrong, the fresh bread basket with sweet butter is absolutely delicious but throws off the Italian vibe. The eggplant Parmesan went away and now is a featured menu item. I tasted it from my friend's entree. Delicious but I can taste the difference. Old and new tastes delicious but different. Im still a big fan of the old eggplant Parmesan!! Please keep this on your regular menu item! I look forward to having this dish here, whether you want to go new or old! The mushroom ravioli which I ordered is absolutely fantastic as always. Our waiter was outstanding, friendly, and attentive. Definitely would come back just to have these two favorites of mine! read more

We returned to this restaurant after about six years. We were again in the Denver area. There's not many of these across the country, but we had an excellent experience last visit. Again, this was a great experience for us. The food was spectacular and also the service. We forgot the main course pictures but got the dessert. It has a great overall ambience even if you're sitting in the bar area. We were able to make a few new friends that were sitting nearby. Definitely a homey feel. Management "Dan" also was very friendly and attentive. We will return again. read more

Just to start off... I am a big Maggiano's fan. It also doesn't hurt that I have one ten minutes from my house. We took the very short route from our hotel and walked to this restaurant. They all pretty much look the same and work under the same model. Reviews for the different locations will really be the same. The major changes are staff, parking and location. When you come into a Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant you are immediately greeted by warm friendly people eager to have you come into their restaurant. This is a BIG FUN LIVELY HAPPY restaurant that also have fabulous food... Right from the start of this review I am telling you that they get five stars because they deserve it... One last thing to remember... It is a chain restaurant. How did they do it? They know the area that they're in and become the perfect local family restaurant. There were four of us at the table.... Our waiter, Olivia immediately came over to us, introduced herself and asked if we have been here before.... We have and were on our way to ordering the massive amounts of food that would soon be coming to our table. Olivia was a wonderful waitress, I mean good... really good. I would come back here just to have Olivia as our server. She is THAT GOOD. The family style menu is just that... lots and lots of food on a plate for people to share. This is a compilation of my last few visits: Appetizers: Stuffed Mushrooms - Excellent.. These were large stuffed mushrooms and they gave us enough for two each. The mushrooms were big and juicy with with a tasty breadcrumb stuffing. Calamari Fritté - Well cooked (not rubbery) tender rings and tentacles with a crispy coating. Our plate had an ample serving for all of us to share. Salads: Chopped Salad - I love their chopped salad as it's filled with everything good and is served well chilled and MORE than enough for the table. Fried Mozarella Pastas: Mom's Lasagna - Plenty of cheese and meet engulfed in delicious broad lasagna noodles with lots and lots of cause. Shrimp Scampi - Very impressed with the abundance of shrimp and linguine in a garlicy butter sauce Entrées (Dinner Only)- Choose 2, we've had the: Chicken Parmesan - well portioned pieces of chicken with plenty of rich tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Not too thick, not paper thin either. Chicken Marsala - well portioned chicken in a rich marsala wine sauce. Very tasty and I did not feel like I was eating the chicken swimming in sauce. Desserts: They now bring out a sampler tray and we got more Apple Crostada. Apple Crostada - OMG - apples, cinnamon, rich delicious and you'll definitely want more Gigi's Butter Cake - Absolutely the most delicious pound cake you'll ever have. Double Chocolate Brownie - exactly what the name says.... Do you like chocolate? Crème Brûlée - creamy, tasty, crispy top. Probably one of the best I have ever had. We ate here to take a break from Fan Expo a block away. We were sat at a dirty table that had not been turned over yet... we didn't even notice until the waitress said something. Then I noticed we didn't have silverware and the other tables did, then I was a little turned off by that. The spinach artichoke dip were delicious! Came out nice and hot with toasted bread. We shaded the Rigatoni D which is my favorite, and the waitress had them split it into two bowls! Perfect serving size! read more

This is a beautiful restaurant inside and out with a cute patio area. Our server seemed like they did not want to be there and was going through the motions, which fair we all get that way sometimes. The food and drink was disappointing. The swirled peach Bellini was not swirled... We ordered stuffed mushrooms and those were pretty flavorless. I ordered their "Famous Rigatoni D" and my husband ordered the Shrimp Scampi. Both were really really dry and the rigatoni was over cooked and the noodles were splitting and borderline mushy. I asked for a side of sauce and I was brought what tasted like warmed heavy whipping cream... and our server also brought mushroom. We decided to order a mini crème brûlée and that was the best thing we had, it was actually pretty good. We had reservations but it was our first time, so with all the construction we had a hard time finding the front door. After finding it through the snow we walked in and even though we were a little late they seated us right away even before we could get off all our jackets. Table was set beautifully, ambiance was nice even with big parties all around us and a full dinning area, with a man playing a violin in the background. Very peaceful. Our server, Makayla, was very nice and polite. We started with drinks, I had wine and he had a moscato mojito, both were delicious we ordered a second. Our appetizers were so good, we had the calamari and meatballs. For the entrees I had Chicken and Spinach Manicotti and he had the Linguine Di Mare. read more

Decided to have dinner here before a private event further down the 16th Street Mall. I did have a reservation but they weren't too busy. Juan Carlos was our server and he was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was warm and cozy and there's just a "comfort food" vibe. We had the mozzarella marinara to start and shared the chicken parmigian with spaghetti and the lasagna. The portions were huge and everything was delicious. We were so full that we had to get our dessert to go - butter cake with strawberry sauce and whipped cream.
