Food is usually good but in my Caesar salad i asked for chicken and instead of regular chicken it was BBQ. Additionally, there was a large shard of GLASS in my salad. The manager took it off our bill and gave us a small gift card but the gift card wasn't even enough to cover a main course and a drink. Pretty pathetic overall, not going back. This place was amazing! Let me start by saying I have gluten and dairy allergies- I'm used to leaving restaurants starving, disappointed, and or sick. None of that was the case here!! I was so excited to eat chicken tenders and amazing bbq sauce, French fries, and even had leftovers. Their menu is also HUGE so I had tons of options! Word to the wise, NEVER order takeout. We've only tried twice, and both times it was a horrible experience. The first time it took the driver almost 2 hours to get the food. First they told him they never received the order. We called and complained and all of a sudden it had magically just come through. Then it took more than an hour for them to give it to the driver. By time we got it, it was cold. We had originally vowed never to do takeout there again. But that was a couple years ago, so we thought we would take a leap of faith that they had improved. But here we are again, 2 hours post order and no food. Again they told the driver they never received an order. This is the only restaurant we have issues with. If I was basing my rating on food alone, I would give it a 5. The food was great. I've never had a Cuban before but after having the one here, I want to know what an authentic Cuban tastes like because it was very delicious. The Eggplant fries were good but I've had better at other places. I would order them again if I went back though. But since I'm basing it off of food and service, I have to say, the food was great. The bartender was ok. He wasn't awful or amazing, he was just there. Politely taking my order and cashing me out. It was pretty slow when I arrived so I get it but he never introduced himself so I have no idea what his name was. This place was packed on a Saturday evening as we had to wait. It was a large place with an upstairs dining area as well as a spacious bar space. The service was good while the menu was one of the larger ones I have seen. I also liked they had their suppliers of certain items on their menu too. There was only one general issue. One of the people at my table ordered a pizza, but the waiter politely told us they do not serve pizza in the winter because it would be too smoky and no windows can be open. It did not make sense that pizza was on the menu if it cannot be served. I did not see any signs or mentions on the menu about this policy regarding the pizza. It was disappointing. I tried the panko fried avocado with a side of sriracha aioli ($6.99). I have never seen fried avocado before and I was tempted to try. It was solid especially with the aioli as a complement. For my entrée, I had the jambalaya ($17.99). It came with shrimp, chicken, sausage, onions, tomatoes, peppers, and basmati rice in a spicy Cajun sauce. This was a well put together dish. We love the ambiance of this restaurant, it's very fun. Too bad they don't keep up on the maintenance of some of the items (the train no longer runs), and got rid of the game units that was enjoyed by all the kids! The food is usually very good, one time I received a strange "chicken soup" with pieces of grilled chicken in it- makes you wonder if they used leftovers to make the soup! Another time the risotto was extremely salty and runny. Kid portions are huge- but since they serve a variety of ages, I guess it is understandable. The service is always pleasant and attentive. Being accused of not leaving a tip (I left 20% cash) because the waiter misplaced it in her own apron pocket then the waiter come to your table to argue with you about it is insane. I agree with leaving tips for good service which the service was good but to do that to customers is so rude, disrespectful and wrong. 1st I left the tip, 2nd I left it in cash for your benefit, 3rd so if someone doesn't leave a tip you think the next step is to accost them at their table when they are getting ready to leave in front of everyone there? This is the first time I have ever written a bad review for any restaurant in my life. The bartender had ZERO personality. It took her 20 minutes to take our drink order (there were 8 people at the bar) It took another 10 minutes to take our food order. No SMILE, no PERSONALITY!! Ordered water and 10 minutes later got water. Barely ate my dinner and asked for it to be wrapped. Felt it necessary (for the 1st time in my adult life) to write a review on my receipt where we only left a 15% tip....only to find out she threw out my leftovers. Absolutely disgusting all the way around my daughter and I ordered the Wagyu Burger and the Burger came out like it was in the microwave. The Bread was stale it was just the most disgusting piece of meat I ever has once I took the stale bread off I couldn't even break the Meat with a fork. It was ordered medium. The appetiser was the spinach dip which came with stale chips and the garlic bread was hamburger buns cut into strips. I was upstairs and made my way downstairs to which it was the side of the kitchen I walked down the steps to an overfilled garbage can of a rotten smell of food.It looked an absolute mess and smelled. Just had a business meeting at Maggie McFlys in Middlebury. This is the original Maggie's location. I've been here before but its been a few years. I love the ambience of this place. We went on Valentines Day and after we arrived it REALLY filled up. The sell point of Maggie's is not just the quality of their food but the SIZE of their menu. Ladies and Gentlemen, their menu is huge. Largest menu that I've seen at any restaurant. They redid the look of their menu too! Very sleek and professional looking. These arent your laminated menus at a mom and pops. The menu has to be like 20 pages. This time I got Chicken Piccata. It was a creamy based Piccata and it was EXCELLENT. The chicken was cooked well through too. They also have a decent beer draft list. Several different IPAs. I went with Sea Hag for this night. Service was great and I was so full I didnt have room for dessert. I will definetly be back again. Hopefully sooner than this last span. read more

I went to Maggie Mcfly's for the first time on Saturday and I'm going say the food is really good. The nachos came loaded with chicken, veggies, and a nice amount of cheese. The fish sandwhich comes with 2 fillets, lettuce, and tomato. The fish was nice and flakey, and the coleslaw added flavor to it. I would try to make the portions smaller though because the fish was to big. I had to take apart the sandwich to eat it. The restaurant was clean, and had two floors so they had plenty of seating. Service was good they asked for our drink right away and food came out in a decent amount of time. The one bad thing to say about the place is the prices are too expensive I probably won't eat here often. Other than that everything else was really good. read more

I just walked out of the middlebury location with my wife after waiting 20 mins for a table because the hostess gave our table to two people who just walked in. When we asked about why she just gave them our table she said they had a reservation. Worst experience ever. Called in advance for dinner for 8. All parties arrived separately, gave the name for the table and they seated us at two separate tables, not even on the same floor. What's the point of giving the name for a reservation if they don't even seat you together? Took almost an hour of everyone sitting there before we realized the rest of the party should have been there at this point. My 80 year old GRANDPARENTS were left alone upstairs for almost an hour before we were able to contact them since they don't look at their phones all the time. Onto the service: they did not give us enough napkin rolls with the utensils inside. We had to ask twice for extra utensils which NEVER ARRIVED! My friend's food arrived cold, along with the entire table next to us who also complained about their food being cold. One side arrived with a long HAIR in the bowl. They forgot to bring a side for one of the meals as well. We had mentioned this to the server Samantha. She said she would bring out the side and new chicken for my friend's salad. We did not see our server again until well after everyone finished eating. At this point we reminded her of the food missing. She said she would ask her manager to comp the food and asked if we wanted dessert. At this point, the entire party had been there for nearly 3 hours. Only two people ordered dessert. After another 20-25 minutes we had to go looking for our server to ask where our one bowl of ice cream and one milkshake was. This was also a birthday dinner and the server ignored this, and a party guest had to mention quite obviously "we have a birthday girl here" before they brought a complimentary bowl of ice cream. The server then says, "one check?" when I had specifically called in advance and asked for separate checks for each couple. One party guest went to speak to the manager who never showed her face to apologize for the terrible service, seating the party guests on different floors, cold food, hair in food, etc. The manager got defensive and argumentative before finally ending up taking about $40 off the bill for the food that never arrived. In total, our party was there for over 3 hours. We go to Maggie's for birthdays and celebrations multiple times a year. Tonights dinner at the Middlebury location is by far the worst experience we have ever had and we will not be returning. Time to find a new place to celebrate! read more

Service was TRASH! Let's start with the tables across from us. Patrons politely asked for the bill for their drinks after waiting an hour. After 20 more minutes they put their cash on the table and left... another 5 minutes goes by and they bring the bill to the wrong table. ‍ Next table gets served but with no utensils. So they take them from another table because if they ask it may be another half hour. Third table gets served someone else's food. The correct table has to yell across the patio to get their order. This happened to an additional table. For us, 30 minutes for apps another 40 for entree. They have come to or passed by our table several times NEVER CLEARING THE TABLE. Too bad. They have a 24 page long menu and every single thing on it is great. This is one of my favorite restaurants. The service is also great with friendly and nice waiters and waitresses. The ambiance is also really really cool and has a plane hanging from the ceiling over the bar. A really cool and funky place with amazing food that I love to go to. I got shrimp and scallops, and for 30.00 I got bay scallops. They were clearly frozen. Also, they were was little alcohol in our drinks (if any). With two starving girls while driving back from AAU basketball, we figured the original Maggie's was a safe (if uninspired) bet. Man we're we wrong. I'll preface the rest of this by saying that I grew up in Naugatuck, and I've been periodically stopping into this particular restaurant for 25 plus years. Our server, Whitney, tried to play the cool server card by not writing anything down. She promptly forgot my drink order. When I told her what it was, she disappeared for ten plus minutes, and returned without it again. Also of note: my daughter's Sprite was not Sprite but seltzer and needed to be returned. 35 minutes after being seated, I got my drink and we ordered food. 35 minutes after that, the food arrived. The food itself was solidly mediocre, which is exactly what I've come to expect from Maggie's. The net / net: If you don't value your time and are satisfied with the same level of quality that can be had by grabbing a bag of salad and some crappy chicken nuggets from the grocery store, this is the place for you. I recall the food & service being OK, nothing really special, I guess that's a big reason why I haven't been back in such a long time. Well, not much as changed, it seems. My wife ordered a Maggie's BLT (came with soup, she had the NE clam chowder), and I went a BBQ Pulled Pork Burger (w/ sweet potatoes fries). This used to be my go-to place that I used to love! I would go at least twice a week between dinner, lunch, or drinks with friends. The food is still decent however the wait times and lack of attention from staff is very disappointing. I gave excuses of her covid that ...well, was covid. Stopped in here late night Sunday. Impressive hours. Interesting booths, not a lot of privacy unless you head upstairs. We were seated in front of (our sides facing) the TV, which meant that everyone in the room was looking our way which just felt strange. I'm sure to most this wouldn't matter but it was something we noticed immediately. Ordered coconut shrimp app... so so glad I did. Huge shrimp!!! Very good quality. Dinner was Lemon Chicken (Picatta), and my partner had a buffalo chicken sandwich on a gluten free roll. He was very pleased with the quality. Overall very pleased, cool menu with locally sourced ingredients. ***Oh, as an FYI- no pizza served here in the Winter (per our waiter). This review is not for the service at all. Both my boyfriend and I went inside the middlebury location to order "takeout" . We went inside and ordered and waited for our food, which mind you came out in a very timely fashion. The restaurant was pretty dead for a Saturday so I actually figured the food would be done quickly. What I didn't figure was when I got home with my order that I would see 3 chicken tenders in my order. 3!!! I paid 12.99 for 3 chicken tenders and a half pound of French fries. I am so disgusted at this restaurant. Covid or not there should be no reason why my order only came with 3 chicken tenders. Absolutely ridiculous. Never again am I coming to this establishment. This place is always hit or miss for me. Wanting a good beer and fresh pasta, I came in last night for a late evening dinner. Amy the bartender was attentive. The taste of the food was good as well, but it seems there is always something missing in the attention to detail here at Maggie's. First off, a "Little Cranky" IPA which is a 4.5% alcohol volume was served in an 8 ounce glass! Are you kidding me? For the price charged? Budweiser draft has more alcohol than this beer and is served in a pint glass. Second, there is no fresh cracked pepper in the establishment and last but not least, no parmesan cheese for my pasta! :( It's just the little things that add up to us not wanting to return. read more

Never checked on us when food was dropped off. Never asked for a refill, one drink for 3 unnecessary hours. Never came to pick up the check. I ask another waiter for help and rudely said" wait for your waiter." Lucky I had cash & we left. Food was cold we order a bunch of apps and the nachos were awful how was the cheese already cold when it got to the table?.. no it was not a busy night, we sat right down.
