Maggie did an incredible job tailoring my bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding. My family lives a few states away and I wasn't able to be present for the dress sizing and selection. When my dress came in the mail it was 2 sizes too big and my sister wanted the trim of the dress to be cut differently. Maggie was able to alter the dress based on a couple example pictures. I would not use Maggie's Alterations. I just left the shop and the lady is rude. She told me on the phone she could complete hemming up of pants today and so I showed up for alterations. Well I showed up and she told me I can't do it today and communicated in such a rude way in front of a customer that was waiting to get their clothes to be altered. Disappointed with my experience here. Had two dresses I needed hemmed, came in on a Monday and was assured they would be ready by the end of the week. I called Saturday to come pick them up, only one dress was ready and Maggie had her mother meet me at the shop. Because of this I couldn't even try the one dress on to make sure the hem was done correctly. Try it on at home and the hem is completely uneven, inches off the ground on one side and the other side it's to the floor. Extremely RUDE and careless. I went in to drop off materials needed for a project she agreed to do. Materials that she explained were needed weeks after agreeing to do the project. Our clothing items were not hung on the racks, but carelessly left on the dirty floor. She quickly grabbed my bag of materials and looked through with such unenthusiasm and basically acting as someone were forcing her to do this job. I repeatedly asked her if the materials would work and she would say," I don't know I don't know" while giving me a disgruntled look. She would also talk right over me to her coworker in her native language. So rude. At least wait until I leave to talk crap. When I asked when the job would be finished she almost screamed that she doest know because she has to finish her work, pointing to a rack of clothes. I asked what priority our work was for her being that this has been pending for almost a month. She basically repeated the same thing and said if she doesn't get to it this week, it'll be done next week. Again giving me a ton of attitude. We decided not to give her our business and she seemed like she could care less about losing customers. read more

I am shocked at the negative reviews and comments about Maggie...she has done a fantastic job with everything I've given her! She is a sweet lady who treats me with kindness and respect. She is also very accommodating with appointment times (sometimes even making the long drive from her home to the shop just for me), which is a big deal to me. I had a dress hemmed to perfection once, but because the material was heavy, it was too long after a few wearings; she shortened it again for free with a smile. Maggie does do work for big-name people and events, but treats me the same as everyone else. And, I am neither snobby nor wealthy (as one reviewer put it). She has even done same-day alterations for me. I have NEVER been dissatisfied with her work or her attitude, in fact, I think she is wonderful (no I am not related and was not paid to write this).
