This is a place that I have come to on and off over the past few years. Food is decent. Ambience is pretty good. The staff and the customer base are good. All that said, the management is poor and I am reminded of this every time that I go. The beer selection is awful (they have plenty of Ale's if you are an ale drinker) I was there this weekend and there was a very big Patriots game on. Most of the bar crowd was there for the game. We asked the bartender to unmute the sound and she had to ask the manager who declined. Then to make matters worse, they concocted a story about how they didn't know how to adjust the TV sound. I just signed up to yelp for this review. I spent $45 on two meals. One I can't eat and the second only a third of it can be eaten. When I called to put in the order, the young lady obviously didn't listen to me. I ordered a Cobb salad with NO BACON. It came with bacon. I can't eat it. The other meal was also inedible. The haddock was good, however, the broccoli which I asked for it to be well done, was harder than nails. The mashed potatoes were so watery the Ran all over the plate like gravy. My guess is the broccoli wasn't drained correctly. I'm not going back, $45 for food that is not edible. read more

I just ordered a beet and spinach salad. I discovered when I got to the car that It had no beets. I tried to get beets added. The hostess said the nuggets are beets. I asked, are these not cranberries and opened the salad and showed her. She said no, those are beet nuggets. I went to the car and actually tried them and they are indeed dried cranberries. Came here for lunch with a group of 15 from work after a mini golf outing in the brutal heat. Place was awesome. Love the decor and vibe. All were pleased with their lunch. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was delicious. The melted cheese and bacon on it was the deal sealer for me. Also had some fried pickles and calamari for apps and both were really good. Waitress was great. Super friendly and attentive and was clutch in the beginning providing water for all of us sweaty messes. Kudos!! Maggies claims they dont take reservations? Last two times we've tried to go they tell us they have a wait yet there are tables with reserved signs on them? I have been here a total of 3 times over the last few years. The first two left a bad taste in my mouth due to the service. This place is always packed. The waitresses are often too busy to provide the service that I was hoping for. My last experience was much better. The cranberry mules are great. I split the crispy chicken sandwich and a Maggie's burger with my boyfriend which we both loved. We also shared the pretzel bites as an appetizer which was good but there were only about 8 pretzel bites which was disappointing. The beer cheese for dipping was worth it though. read more

I was excited about trying a new restaurant. I was terribly disappointed with Maggie's Farm. We were immediately brought water in mason jars but we're not asked if we wanted any thing to drink other than the water. The water was not filtered and tasted terrible. I ordered the roasted beet salad with spinach and added tuna to the order. I was told that the tuna would be grilled and on the rare side. I do not feel like the menu adequately described what was sat down in front of me. The beets did not appear to be roasted. They were diced into tiny tiny cubes and pickled. I could not tell them from something out of a can. The tuna tasted fishy and was cooked all the way through. Thank hoodness I did mot irder sny sushi! The dressing was supposed to be a shallot vinaigrette. It was something yellowish and tart and emulsified. It was not bad, but it certainly was not what I was expecting in a shallot vinaigrette. The waitress came by our table, not really stopping as she said how is everything and kept going. I got her attention and said I wasn't happy with the meal and told her why. She offered to replace it and I said just let the manager know. A person came over who did not introduce herdelf as the manager but asked what the problem was. I explained. She told me that the beets were roasted every morning and the dressings were made from scratch. She had seen it. She also told me that it was probably just me unhappy with the texture of the dressing. I said OK, if you say so. We would like something to drink though since we were not asked before. At first we gave them a pass thinking it was growing pains, we went back two more times after that, spaced out to give it time to figure out the kinks. Curbside service was excellent -- really easy to order inline, and there is a pickup spot directly in front of their front door. However had mixed results on the food. The BBQ ribs were excellent, very tender and relatively lean. Only problem was that the BBQ sauce was WAY too sweet. The baked haddock was appallingly bad. Although no reservations we called ahead for party of 8 and although hiccup when arrived they were able to accommodate with my kids and our waitress was amazing she doubles as a bar tender but no lack of attention we loved her and made our experience perfect was Mother's Day celebration and was great food and great service thank you! Me and my girlfriend have been trying quite a few new restaurants lately. We recently visited Richardsons and noticed Maggies Farm as we were leaving, we knew we had to try it, it was absolutely AMAZING! I had the surf and turf which our wonderful server Gianna stated was really good and it was! My girlfriend had the chicken broccoli Alfredo and she too was blown away! For dessert they had a dessert that was a fried banana in an egg roll wrap topped with whipped cream and a honey drizzle with vanilla ice cream.. AMAZING!! I asked prior to ordering how it was and was told it was underrated and also amazing and it was!! By far one of the best experiences we've had trying new restaurants in the area, I HIGHLY recommend giving it a try! read more

When you walk in the door. Both the hostesses are super meh and seem fried by the job. They offered us outdoor seating. The hostess said that the table was on the smaller side. She wasn't kidding because it's literally 2 two by fours connected together in v shape and painted with these bizarre looking large lawn chairs facing the actual tables outside. Total lack of space usage quite honestly. So we asked to just have indoor seating and waited for that. Which we were fine with. For the price of the drinks. John Taffer from bar rescue needs to have his team come in and school the bartenders. As a previous bartender and a server for 15 years. They were literally the worst drinks I've had in the longest time. The watermelon salad was OK, can't really complain about that. It didn't wow me though. Description made it seem better than it actually was. We got the brussels sprouts. It was like the chef burnt them then thought hmm they aren't enough and put them back in the oven for 10 more minutes. They had zero flavor and they were so weird. The server gave me the recommendation to get the short rib main course. So I did. When I put my fork to the short rib. I got an arm workout. Thank you Maggies farm for free workout? Something you shouldn't be having with short rib. It should fall apart. So I cut it open and it was the driest meat I've ever had in my life at a restaurant with no flavor. Vegetables look like they are purchased from the dollar tree in a bag, put in microwave and poured on plate. It's literally the weirdest vegetable side that I've ever had in my entire existence. The mashed potatoes are just boiled potatoes and then mashed and put on a plate and they were ice cold. My boyfriend's steak tips had zero flavor and they looked like they are precooked because the sear marks look like frozen dinner or commercial style meat sear. He also had this bizarre looking vegetable mix that is cheap in appearance, zero flavor and frozen. The manager I will say was a sweetie. Our server was defensive and quite honestly very snappy and shut me down instantly with ultra condescending verbiage when I calmly tried to explain what was wrong with my dish. I even elaborated to the server that we were still going to tip her good and then she was still rude to me. As someone in customer service. Even if you think the customer is literally crazy and annoying. You still present positive demeanor. I asked for the check and it literally took her 15 minutes to get the check because she was too busy crap talking to her manager and laughing. Like get us the check and get us out of this horrible experience. I would note that the manager did comp two things from the bill, which I appreciated and didn't plan to write this review. However, the server continuously being smug towards us and spending so much time, laughing and venting to her manager in visible distance. That's just beyond unprofessional. If you want to have a conversation and vent to your manager or complain about a table. That's totally fine and normal. However, wait until the people leave. My boyfriend tried to be nice and take the steak tips home to not make the server feel even worse, which again we established early that we were going to tip the server 20% on the original bill. Those steak tips went immediately in the trash outside of this restaurant. The decor is really really cute and this place has great bones. However, whoever the chef is directing their kitchen. Needs to be let go or sent elsewhere for intense training immediately, if not sooner to create a complete unity of success for this establishment. It was really bizarre to me how the front of house staff seemed so miserable and the server was ultra defensive. Tells me that something is going on in this place which needs to be fixed. Clearly they have guest complaining too much of similar experience and that makes them very burnt out. We will never be back. I hope this blunt, honest review helps you all truly see your faults because after reviewing the reviews. I'm not the only one with this similar experience. So why is it still ongoing?! The Good: The good here is definitely limited. The wings were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The restaurant has an awesome large private lot so great for groups. We noticed a small stage in the main dining space so I'm sure it can be a lot of fun for a group meetup. And it is in a nice area, on 114 with tons of stuff to do either before or after eating. But that is about it. The Bad: Really do not know where to start with this, but let's start with the food. Since we barely ate any of it. Plate presentation across the board was horrible. Everything looked liked it was slapped on. The chicken on the BBQ plate was undercooked and gross. The pulled pork was smothered in so much bbq sauce that is all you could taste. The coleslaw should have been plated separately, it was so soupy and leaked over everything on the plate. The one saving grace was the cornbread and the coleslaw almost ruined it. The calamari dish was a mix of peppers and calamari but the ratio seemed 60 40 in the peppers favor. Not at all what we were expecting. When reading the menu you get the impression that your ordering mostly calamari, not peppers. We couldn't stomach it and when we asked the waitress to take it away we were told that even though we did not want it, they did not do refunds. I completely get not wanting to be taking advantage of but to have a blanket policy is a little extreme. What happened to customer satisfaction? We were kinda surprised she didn't try to rectify the situation. The Ugly: Just one small thing here. The cornbread, although pretty good, would have been considerably better if it had been a little warmed up. Final Word: This was the worst dining experience we have had in a while. A lack of caring service, some terrible dishes, and what seems to be some bad policies make up an experience we have no intention of repeating. 1.5 stars. read more

Still trying to figure out the rave reviews about this place. Bought an around the world card (which offers an appetizer at each of the Serenitee Restaurants) through a non-profit auction so decided to stop in around 1 p on a Friday. It was fairly quiet so we took a seat at the bar. The bar tender/waitress was not very friendly at all. Brought 2 menus, a sushi list and asked what we wanted for drinks. No "hello how are you" "have you been here before" nor did she ever smile. Noticed she was pretty much that way with everyone. We decided on the baked (vs fried) fish taco appetizer with the sour cream on the side, the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and my friend requested the blue cheese crumbles on the side and an order of the hand cut fries. It didn't take very long for our order to arrived and everything came at the same time which was fine by us as we intended to have the fish tacos as our lunch "entree" anyhow. The hand cut fries were great! The fish tacos were bland and didn't even look appealing, served over a double layer of soft tortilla shells. It was rather difficult to eat, nothing exciting. The cobb salad was good; however, my friend did find blue cheese crumbles mixed in her half of the salad ...not sure if it was accidentally put in and then scooped out as it did not appear that any of it spilled out of the small container when it was delivered. That totally ruined her experience with the salad as she despises "stinky" cheese. Total tab with water as drinks, excluding tip was around $31. Another "meh" experience. read more

This review is based on food only, as the service was fine. We ended up coming here because the place next door was closed for labor day. I ordered the fish tacos with a side of fries,my hubs ordered the pasta carbonara and our friends ordered the calamari and the tortilla salad with chicken. Fish Tacos- baked cod no flavor whatsoever. The aioli on top also had little flavor so it was extremely bland. Fries- Bland and gummy, I ate them simply because I was hungry. Pasta carbonara- so much sauce and flavor wasn't good. It was over powering Calamari- mostly hot peppers breaded and deep fried with very little calamari mixed in. Salad- chicken came out burnt and salad dressing was very bland. Bill came to 68 dollars for lunch....all of us we're unsatisfied and feeling somewhat sick because food just didn't sit well. Really happy that Maggie's Farm landed in Middleton. Been here now for brunch, dinner, and had take-out once. Every time the food has been delicious. Seven of us went there for dinner tonight and everyone had accolades for their meals. I had the meatloaf, which was bacon-wrapped and covered with a mushroom jus, and served over a cheddar mashed with broccolini. Sometimes cheesy potatoes gross me out if they get over the top cheesy, but I thought the cheddar was just enough to kick it up a notch. My friends gave top-notch reviews to the Pan Roasted Cod and the Steak Tips as well as the 1-lb burgers. Everyone said that they would definitely order their meal again. I've also had the fish & chips separately for take-out, which was a really fresh and the batter was very light. Each time were no leftovers on my plate even though I was belt-popping full. A couple of my ladies even completely cleared their plates. The Crazy Nachos with the BBQ pulled pork are fantastic. We destroyed that in 5 minutes. Was surprised to see how quickly it disappeared. Loved the jalapeños! Service was a little slow but the place was packed. Highly recommend. read more

Finally made it to Maggie's Farm, and it was a pretty good meal. Our server was Kevin. Nice guy, good server, enthusiastic, and seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about the menu. Answered any questions we had, and found out the answer if he didn't know it. Food: For starters we got the calamari.... as a starter, and it was good. I mean, it's calamari, its fried and tastes the same pretty much everywhere. The tomato sauce on the side was pretty good, and so was the garlic aoli, but if you don't like hot watch out of the green peppers, they can sneak up on you disguised as regular fried calamari. I got the 1lb burger, and it was delicious. Cooked how I ordered it (medium rare), and the fries were crispy, hand cut, and seemed to be made in house just the way I like it. My girlfriend got the Crab BLTA (crab being crab cake). I thought everything about it was great.....except neither of us could really taste the crab. It was kinda small, and we just couldn't taste it, kinda bland for a crab cake. I probably wouldn't get that again. My mother got the sirloin steak which I took a small bite of. I thought it was delicious, and she seemed to like it. It's a good piece of meat if you want a steak. We skipped dessert, so no review there.
