Still trying to figure out the rave reviews about this place. Bought an around the world card (which offers an appetizer at each of the Serenitee Restaurants) through a non-profit auction so decided to stop in around 1 p on a Friday. It was fairly quiet so we took a seat at the bar. The bar tender/waitress was not very friendly at all. Brought 2 menus, a sushi list and asked what we wanted for drinks. No "hello how are you" "have you been here before" nor did she ever smile. Noticed she was pretty much that way with everyone. We decided on the baked (vs fried) fish taco appetizer with the sour cream on the side, the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and my friend requested the blue cheese crumbles on the side and an order of the hand cut fries. It didn't take very long for our order to arrived and everything came at the same time which was fine by us as we intended to have the fish tacos as our lunch "entree" anyhow. The hand cut fries were great! The fish tacos were bland and didn't even look appealing, served over a double layer of soft tortilla shells. It was rather difficult to eat, nothing exciting. The cobb salad was good; however, my friend did find blue cheese crumbles mixed in her half of the salad ...not sure if it was accidentally put in and then scooped out as it did not appear that any of it spilled out of the small container when it was delivered. That totally ruined her experience with the salad as she despises "stinky" cheese. Total tab with water as drinks, excluding tip was around $31. Another "meh" experience. read more

I came to Maggie's Farm last week for the first time and we sat at the bar. We had such a great experience! Our bartender's name was John Carlo. He is professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. We were watching him take care of all of his customers quickly and effectively. He answered our questions about items on the menu and had lots of patience with us. We ordered the nachos, short rib dinner, and the baked haddock. Everything was delicious! I would definitely go back to Maggie's Farm and sit with John at the bar. I would recommend you do the same!! read more

Just like it's sister restaurants, the food and menu are one of a kind. Whenever I see a menu that ranges from beef stew & French onion soup, from wings to pork potstickers, from pub sandwiches to sushi I am always hesitant. To me, too much variety is food quality's biggest enemy. This restaurant (like Hale Street) bucks the trend. We got the nachos with pulled pork which were some of the best nachos I have had. Not because they had a ton of pulled pork. But these were so good because the nachos were LAYERED. Something every nacho-fan wants but never gets. Usually all the toppings are floating on the top layer of chip and there is a desert of dry chips at the bottom. These nachos had all the fix-ins at each layer of chip. You won't believe me if you have never had Hale Street, but this sushi was amazing. Talk about nicely rolled, beautifully presented, perfectly combined flavors, and fresh fish. We will be back to try the rest of the menu. The bar and ambience here was great for a family, for a casual date, or to watch sports on the big TVs. Highly, highly recommend. read more

This review is based on food only, as the service was fine. We ended up coming here because the place next door was closed for labor day. I ordered the fish tacos with a side of fries,my hubs ordered the pasta carbonara and our friends ordered the calamari and the tortilla salad with chicken. Fish Tacos- baked cod no flavor whatsoever. The aioli on top also had little flavor so it was extremely bland. Fries- Bland and gummy, I ate them simply because I was hungry. Pasta carbonara- so much sauce and flavor wasn't good. It was over powering Calamari- mostly hot peppers breaded and deep fried with very little calamari mixed in. Salad- chicken came out burnt and salad dressing was very bland. Bill came to 68 dollars for lunch....all of us we're unsatisfied and feeling somewhat sick because food just didn't sit well. All in all overpriced food, no quality and quantity is also lacking. read more

Really happy that Maggie's Farm landed in Middleton. Been here now for brunch, dinner, and had take-out once. Every time the food has been delicious. Seven of us went there for dinner tonight and everyone had accolades for their meals. I had the meatloaf, which was bacon-wrapped and covered with a mushroom jus, and served over a cheddar mashed with broccolini. Sometimes cheesy potatoes gross me out if they get over the top cheesy, but I thought the cheddar was just enough to kick it up a notch. My friends gave top-notch reviews to the Pan Roasted Cod and the Steak Tips as well as the 1-lb burgers. Everyone said that they would definitely order their meal again. I've also had the fish & chips separately for take-out, which was a really fresh and the batter was very light. Each time were no leftovers on my plate even though I was belt-popping full. A couple of my ladies even completely cleared their plates. The Crazy Nachos with the BBQ pulled pork are fantastic. We destroyed that in 5 minutes. Was surprised to see how quickly it disappeared. Loved the jalapeños! Service was a little slow but the place was packed. Highly recommend. read more

I'm not sure how I came across Maggie's Farm, it just popped up in my social media and looked amazing! Great photos and marketing by the way! Good food and well spaced out as we head into post COVID days. Waitress was great, and food was good. My two suggestions would be please get some lighting inside. If you aren't sitting in a boot with a light directly overhead, it was so dark (even in a very sunny day!)! I could barely see the food in front of me! Finally made it to Maggie's Farm, and it was a pretty good meal. Our server was Kevin. Nice guy, good server, enthusiastic, and seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about the menu. Answered any questions we had, and found out the answer if he didn't know it. Food: For starters we got the calamari.... as a starter, and it was good. I mean, it's calamari, its fried and tastes the same pretty much everywhere. The tomato sauce on the side was pretty good, and so was the garlic aoli, but if you don't like hot watch out of the green peppers, they can sneak up on you disguised as regular fried calamari. I got the 1lb burger, and it was delicious. Cooked how I ordered it (medium rare), and the fries were crispy, hand cut, and seemed to be made in house just the way I like it. My girlfriend got the Crab BLTA (crab being crab cake). I thought everything about it was great.....except neither of us could really taste the crab. It was kinda small, and we just couldn't taste it, kinda bland for a crab cake. I probably wouldn't get that again. My mother got the sirloin steak which I took a small bite of. I thought it was delicious, and she seemed to like it. It's a good piece of meat if you want a steak. We skipped dessert, so no review there. I have passed this place all the time and never went before tonight. I had the rainbow roll and the babs roll. Both were good. Not great but good. Was pushed back on the wait list an extra 25 minutes. Asked for the open booth but was ignored. Was seated at a crappy small table. No chop sticks for sushi and 2 out of 4 meals were wrong. Waitress also spilled after dinner martinis. Not worth $225+ check in my opinion. read more

The price was not worth the meal. Ordered chicken Tortilla salad and calamari and both were subpar in quality with burnt chewey chicken that had the taste of grill tar. I would hope the dinner menu would be better but would never come back for lunch again. read more

This is the second time we have been to Maggie's Farm. The first time was terrific and the second time did not disappoint. We went for a late lunch. I had the fish and chips. Both were outstanding! The fish was fresh, flaky and perfectly done. The fries were definitely hand cut, plentiful and good to the last little crunchy one (I love the little crunchy ones). I only get fried food occasionally and usually only for fish and chips, so I am fairly fussy about them. I highly recommend these. My husband ordered the Maggie's Burger. This is one of the only places that actually knows how to cook a burger 'medium-medium rare'. Kudos to the cook for their interpretation! It was outstanding! Between the great good and happy atmosphere, we definitely will be back! read more

Very pleased with our meal. A tip for parents: kids work well here. On Sundays they offer half off a kids meal for each adult meal ordered. It comes with a drink and ice cream included. But beware. Two of our kids ordered root beer. Winds up there are drinks that are not OK to order with kids meals. Root beer is one. It's the good IBC stuff that comes in bottles. Bottles they sell for $4/ea. When our bill came we were pretty surprised, as the waitress had not warned us. Usually when such a misunderstanding happens, the wait staff will just take it off your bill. Or split the difference. Or... anything. This waitress basically slapped our wrist, warning us "now you know for next time". A presumptuous warning, indeed. $8 is a lot for sugared water. Really put us off from returning, despite the quality of the food and atmosphere. read more

I was visiting from LI and someone recommended this place to me as a must try while I was in the area in MA. I was excited to see a lot of gluten free items and I contacted the manager and found out they have a separate fryer and were very knowledgeable about food allergies.. winning!! I ordered the sword fish kebabs and fries..both were very large portions of food, way too much for one person, but that just meant my friends had left overs for the next day. There were no tables available when we got there (they don't take reservations), so we sat at the bar and ate and it was just as good as having a table. Drinks were made really well and the bartender, Michael was great! He was really tolerable to our buzzed antics and crazy conversations and my requests about being gluten free, without getting annoyed. Overall, this place is great and if you are in the area, it's a must. I will definitely be back next time I'm visiting. Quaint, upbeat place on the North Shore. Right around the corner from my parents house, so it's a nice place for catching up when I visit. I like that the menu is diverse. New American, but you can also have sushi. Best of both worlds! My favorite plate is the mussels. I know it's listed as a starter, but it's large enough to have as a dinner with a sushi roll. The drinks are always fun and creative, while keeping a few staples on hand. They make a mean margarita, and my mother loves their Hot N' Dirty Martini. Overall this place is great, the only down side is due to its small size, catching a table/spot at the bar can be difficult. And it also gets very noisy. read more

Packed but no wait and the host hooked us up with a seat right in front of a tv for the Bruins playoff game. It was unfortunately under a vent, but nothing a sweater couldn't fix. They have a good beer and drink selection. - my fiancé went for the Allagash draft and I had the sangria special and a pomegranate wheat beer, delish. We had the Philadelphia roll to start, yum. For dinner I had the CBLTA and my fiancé had the pulled pork - both were super messy but that obv means they were good and they were served with handcut fries. Our waiter was great and the atmosphere was cool and casual. Only bummer is that we live a half hour away! Some of the entree prices are also a little bit more than your average restaurant, but the quality is there. Side note: the table next to us got the fried clam special. It was MASSIVE with a cool presentation - we hope it stays on the menu to try it next time! read more

The food here is normally pretty good as are the drinks. Live music an added plus based on the day you decide to dine. Service level is average at best. On this occasion, systems were down and waitress disappeared after explaining the situation vs checking back and providing updates. Waited nearly 30mins for drink and nearly 40mins for appetizers to finally come out as nothing could be rung through the register. Temperature in the establishment was uncomfortably cold, when a different waitress was asked if the AC could be turned down, the response was "I'll ask" with a bit of a frustrated tone in her voice. This concern of temperature came from 3 separate tables in unison and was not received well. This establishment is a potential crown jewel but poorly run and operated will limit its continued success. read more

I've never really been anywhere like Maggie's before, they truly are an original. What appears to be a general store/farm shop from the outside is actually a bustling, tavern-esque setting on the inside. We came here last week on a Thursday night and the place was packed, and I can definitely see why -- they've got really good food, and a great variety! You can find everything from American to Sushi here, and some fantastic cocktails: the drinks are totally on point and very creative. All of us got the Rice Krispy Treat martini, which was so delicious. It tasted similar to a White Russian and comes with actual Rice Krispies on the rim, I would highly recommend giving it a go. For apps, we started off with an order of calamari and fried pickles, which were both very good. Unfortunately, they arrived at the same time our entrées came out, which we weren't happy about. My friends both ordered sushi, excellent on all counts. I got the Vegetable Stirfry, it was a big portion and came loaded with veggies, teriyaki sauce and a generous helping of chicken. The rice was a little gummy for my taste, it's supposed to be sticky but I think it was overcooked. That aside, it was a yummy dish and I'd reorder it any time. For dessert, we all split the Cookie Skillet, which is a big Blondie/chocolate-chip cookie in a skillet topped with caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Another hit! The only negative part of our experience was the service, and I have to subtract a star for that. I understand they were busy, but we waited a long time to be checked on in between being served and eating, and our apps and entrées arrived simultaneously. Because they were so slammed and I needed more water, I spotted a pitcher and just refilled my own glass a couple of times because no one was available. Overall, Maggie's was a slam-dunk and I'd definitely return to further explore their menu. I'm hoping that the next time we go, the service will be better. read more

Great food! Even better service! This is becoming our family's favorite spot. I brought my kids in who are 4 and 8 a couple times now. It can be difficult to go out to eat with them but they really enjoy it here. On our most recent visit our server was Joey. He was so attentive to my kids and even made it a point to get down on their level and talk to them. They talked about him on the car ride home. We can't wait to go back.
