Went to Maggie's Farm last Friday for dinner; had about a thirty minute wait at peak dinner time but was welcomed to grab a drink while waiting for a table. Our waitress was great, attentive and recommended beers. The food was awesome, I couldn't finish it all but definitely had the leftovers, even the side of fries was good. Got calamari as an app which has had me craving it since. The atmosphere was very cool, definitely somewhere I'll be checking out again with such clearly defined days for wings and sushi rolls, etc. was surprised to see sushi in a place like this, can't wait to try it with so many options. read more

3.75 stars. Casual dining with a few items on the menu slightly out of the ordinary. I went simple and got the Maggie's 1/2 lb burger. I asked for medium and it came out medium. What you'd hope for. Few slices of jalapenos, bacon, chopped lettuce, and tomato on a potato bun. The Maggie sauce was probably mayo based. Next time I'd ask to keep that out, since I still find myself trying to clear it from my esophagus. Slightly sloppy since it kind of falls apart while eating it. Probably the bacon and tomato slices that make it harder to keep together. The fries are tasty however, my mouth felt a bit beat up while I was driving home. Know what I mean? Like if you eat too many oranges, the acid seems to have eaten away at your cheeks? I'm guessing its the oil they use. Again, tasty, but feels like I was chewing on my cheek a while. The bartender was great. I had been there before and she was very attentive and friendly then as well. She had a packed bar and still seemed to be on top of everyone's needs. Nice beer selection there as well. Southern Tier, Gulden Draak, Kentucky Bourbon, and so on. Not just the regulars. They have a few fish options, but seeing as I dont like fish, I didnt "bite". Most of it looked fried with over-sized onion rings that made me say "woah!". The people eating it seemed pretty enthusiastic and I didnt hear one complaint while I was there. The price seemed slightly elevated for what it was, but what's an extra dollar or two. It just might deter people looking for a deal, I suppose. Oh my GOD! This place was fantastic. Sat right away, greeted right away and had my beer in no time! The ambiance was perfect. Not too loud, dim lighting, tvs for people who want. Service was on point. Very attentive and made great conversation. Menu was unique and had great variety at the same time!! We frequent Maggiss Farm and went there on Tuesday and had a bad experience. We checked in at the hostess desk on Tuesday and were told there was a half hour wait for a table for 2. I looked around the restaurant and could visibly see 4 open tables, not counting anything i couldnt see in the back room. I asked if they were short servers and thats why they werent sitting us. The hostess told us it was trivia night and we needed 3 people to sit at any of the 4 person tables. We have been sat at 4 person tables countless times before. I really like this place, the beer selection is great and it changes seasonally so always something new to try. The martinis are also original and good. The nachos with pulled pork is my favorite dish here. Meatloaf dinner is really good, so is the sushi. I would have given it 5 stars but the bar staff is not great. They are not really friendly and don't pay much attention to the customers at the bar unless you are a regular or friend. I always have to flag someone down to put in a food order and they don't offer a refill when they see your drink empty. That is consistent (I've been here 10+ times) and relates to both the female and male bartenders. Just bad customer service. read more

We went to Maggie's Farm for dinner and I have to say I would not return. I did like the atmosphere and the service was very good but the food was not good. The steak tips were overdressed with BBQ sauce, the pulled pork looked like mush and was overcooked. The corn bread was dry, my daughter had the tips with veggies and the veggies were actually very good. We did get the fried pickle app and it was not light and crispy; more heavily fried. Also 9$ for a kids meal is outrageous! I don't mind paying a higher price for good quality, fresh food, but unfortunately that is not what you can get here. We had high hopes for this spot but came away disappointed. When we arrived at 5:40 there were at least 5 open tables..all for 4 and we were a party of 2. We were told we could wait 25-30 min. or sit at a communal high top,which backs up to the noisy bar. Being hungry, we took high top but the lack of interest in pleasing a customer started us off poorly. App was their tater tots with dip... mushy potatoes with bacon dip. Stopped in for LUNCH with my parents, myself, and my two children. The atmosphere was good. Parking ample. They were quite accommodating of people with young children in that they provided boosters and wiki sticks for the kids to play with, and the waitress was very nice. That's where my positive reviews end. My father ordered a burger and fries and was happy enough with them, though the prices for even a burger at lunch were really high. My mother ordered a burger and specified no peppers. They brought it to her with pepper sauce all over it. She had to wait for them to make another (so her meal came when we were all finished) and they didn't provide any discount on her meal. Kid's meal prices are really high - $9 for a burger, fries and Sundae but what was most offputting is that my son is allergic to milk so we ordered JUST a kids' burger pattie with a side of veggies - no condiments on it, no fries, no bun, no sundae and they charged $11 bucks for it. That's crazy. $11 for a small cup of veggies and a kid's size plain patty is enough for us to never go back. I had a chicken tortilla salad. It was okay, the avocado was really fresh, but otherwise it was nothing special to write home about. I wanted to love Maggie's but $60 for a sub par lunch of sandwiches, a blank patty, and a salad (no drinks) is more than enough incentive not to ever go back. read more

We came here on a whim to try some place different..... The Atmosphere is great, the service was dead-on which brings me to our food..... for starters we had the Fresh Shucked Oysters & Crispy Calamari which were pretty good, our entrees we chose Scallop and Shrimp Casserole and I had the Bacon Wrapped Maggie's Meatloaf, Now the Scallop and Shrimp Casserole was wonderful my wife liked the fact that the sauce was light and not overbearing.... Good job, the Meatloaf dish can use a little work however, from the texture of the meatloaf, the mashed potatoes had way to much cheese, down to the Mushroom gravy that seemed to separate prior to being served and sorry to say was tasteless....a martini and a glass of wine rounded out our meal.... I can't really judge this place on 1 visit and a 50% success on the meals but what I will say is that I feel it is overpriced for Middleton. We've been here twice: once for dinner on a Thursday and once for lunch on a Saturday. The place was packed on Thursday night and started filling up on Saturday as we were finishing our meals. It's a smaller place so be aware of that when making your plans. Service was slow on the Thursday night but fine on Saturday. The slow service may have been because they were so busy but I don't normally comment on service unless it's really noticeable one way or another. Luckily the food was worth the wait. I ordered the meatloaf and it was the best meatloaf I have ever had (don't tell Mom!). My father-in-law ordered it as well and he loved it too. It was seasoned just right, moist, wrapped in bacon and the gravy on top was delicious! My wife and mother-in-law were very pleased with their steak tips. The next time we went I got the shepard's pie and the other members of our group got burgers and a chicken sandwhich and again all of it was yummy. If you're thinking of going, you should know that they have an interesting mix of menu choices and beers on tap. The food is on the pricier side for a pub style restaurant but worth the price IMO. Not happy with the service or the food. Such a disappointment. Our waitress was bubbly and enthusiastic, but a bad server. She forgot my drink order & had to be reminded. When my drink came, I asked for a small amount of ice & the glass was full to the top with ice(I ordered top shelf liquor, it was then watered down). I have food allergies & she stated the kitchen could leave out the seasoning. They did not. I ask for a medium well temperature on my meat and it was burned. Last night, we decided to eat at Maggie's Farm mainly due to very good Yelp reviews and to it's convenient location to our home. Seemed the only negative reports was that the service was "terrible". We decided a good meal close by, was more important than the service. We arrived to a fairly crowded bar and dining area(s). We were greeted warming by the host and seated right away. Our server was FANTASTIC! He was more than attentive to our table and to every other table in his section. We watched him with eagle eyes because of the poor Yelp reviews regarding service. In addition to our server being great ---- all of our appetizers, entree's and our desert was so, so, so good we were still raving about Maggie's this morning! We definitely recommend Maggie's Farm ---- Tater tots and crab cakes are a must have but save room for the apple crisp. We will definitely be returning soon and often. read more

We went to Maggie's Farm for the first time for our first night out without our new baby last night. I can't say enough about how great the experience was. We had a miscommunication about reservations (they don't take them, but it's more than worth the wait!). We were still seated promptly. The food was ridiculously tasty. The drinks were great. Beyond that, the hostesses, manager, and waitstaff were so lovely to us. As I mentioned, we thought we had a reservation, and they did all they could to make sure we didn't have to wait to eat. They were so accommodating and friendly. Our only regret is that with the baby, we can't go back again for more deliciousness tonight. If you're wondering, "Should we eat here?" Let me be clear: we rarely, if ever, go out. We have enjoyed fantastic cuisine in the past, but then we had three kids and...yyyyeah. Since going out is such a luxury on our tight budget and time, we like to go somewhere is that is a safe bet. Maggie's farm exceeded our expectations. First of all, make sure to ask for Jacob S. His genuine enthusiasm for the cuisine and knowledge of the menu put us instantly at ease. We knew we were in very capable hands. The tater tots were light puffy clouds of amazing-ness (that's a real word) and the bacon ranch dip was addictive. For entrees, the French dip sandwich and Cuban sandwich melted in our mouths and the portions were huge. We washed it all down with a pumpkin martini and some chardonnay, and the downeast cider was crisp and refreshing. After a dessert of a skillet chocolate chip cookie with Richardson's vanilla ice cream (which I grudgingly shared with my husband--next time I am getting my own, thank you very much) we were thanking our lucky stars our friend recommended this fine eating establishment. Erin, we are forever in your debt. In conclusion, RUN, do not walk to get your eat on at Maggie's Farm. You will not regret it. read more

I went for lunch with my wife and two school aged kids. Good atmosphere, but please remember it is more of a tavern. Still, there are plenty of families and it is very clean. Great beer selection and good food. My daughter always asks to go back to eat their hand cut french fries. It is one of those places my kids eat everything without having to be coaxed. Do not go if you have a gluten allergy and if you are expecting service, good or otherwise don't hold your breath. My husband took me and our daughter for a late lunch/early dinner and the only thing that went well was putting our name on the wait list. Our table was sort of clean, the food was raw or cold and the gluten allergy we informed our waitress about apparently did not make its way to the kitchen because within 20 minutes of eating a soggy pulled port sandwich our daughter was getting sick in the bathroom and breaking out in hives. Our appetizer arrived minutes before our food and apparently expecting plates for the shared appetizer is too much to ask for. The bar tender was rude, the waitress never introduced herself and only came back three times. Once to drop off a drink, the second time to bring us the check and the third time to drop off take out boxes. She forgot the one thing I asked her for (sugar) so my husband had to go get it. We had to listen to one of the hostesses complaining very loudly on the dinning room floor about having to clear tables and if that was not enough, the people sitting near us where having similarly bad experiences. We will never go back. It is nothing like it used to be. It has lost that cozy, homey feeling it had and apparently all the great staff. Every time we have been there we have had excellent service. Starting with Laura to I Caitlin. They all are fabulous servers that are so schooled in what the restaurant has to offer. I brought my 3 year old and 1 yr old here and they enjoyed the tater tots and the pizza. I had the CBLT, which was way too big for lunch portion but it was delicious and filling. My kids are very picky so I'm happy I discovered this place because it's not crowded for weekday lunches. The only caveat is that if you are over 25 or you're with kids, they will make you sit in the back room and it feels like that's where they send the old people and kids. The restaurant has a casual comfortable atmosphere. Full bar with TVs and live music on Wednesdays. The menu has some gluten-free options. The waiter was really helpful and attentive without being overbearing. The clam chowder is really good, served up with a little tabasco which gives it a tangy taste. I also ordered a salad and was impressed with the goat cheese. They served it up crusted with crushed walnuts on top. Delicious. The tater tots are more like fried potato balls... I liked them with ketchup. The sour cream bacon dip would be better suited on nachos. Overall had a good experience. read more
