Been to this place a bunch of times, but finally getting around to review the joint. First off, its supposed to have an English pub atmosphere. Never been to England, but i must say, this place sure gets the party started. First off when you walk in to the left is the main seating hall with booths all along the wall. To the right, they have a private hall, and a banquet hall. Food here is generally all sandwiches, and fried foods. Which for the fried fish and chips is really good. Nice selection of beers on tap. You have to the try there battered fritters. OMG...greasy potato goodness. Basically a semi thick wedge(s) of potato deep fried.. Better than your regular fries. Otherwise, i came this past friday, and they did offer some new items on there lunch menu. I had there steak sandwich. It was pretty damn good. Comes on a french roll, steak (cooked to order), onion rings, and your choice of cheese.. MM mm goodness. Came with french fries. Cost was 9.99, and oh so worth it. My friend ate the Monte Cristo sandwich, and she said it was really good. It was humungous, so she had to take half home. So if your in the area, by all means, check this place out. read more

Maggie's has really gone downhill. This place has the same menu but god knows who is working the grill. The food was bland. Fries were not cooked. Most of the good was left on the table. Not enough waitresses by far for the amount of people in this place. Our waitress was good, but way overworked. She had too many people to get drinks for so we had to wait a long time for her to come back to us. I don't blame her though, they should have given her a lot more help. I am hoping things change here and will give it another shot. read more

When I'm down from Oregon, my wife and I like to come here about once a week. The waitress, Liza (spelling?) is the BEST waitress ever! So sweet, and friendly. The food is great, and the atmosphere is excellent! There are many big screen televisions, playing sports. The thing I like the most (maybe) is the very large selection of beers - and for mixed drinks - the bartender really knows what's up. Very nice! I mean if you're just trying I have a good time and get drunk off cheap drinks, this place is where it's at. On Tuesday's they have $2 well drinks and really good music. I've been to Maggies Pub many times over the years. The place has not changed a bit since the first time I came here back in the early 90's. I met up with a friend that I havent seen in awhile here for happy hour. The place was dead. This is no fault of maggies pub. It seems that happy hours are not very lively anymore maybe due to the recession? I dont know, but many places I have gone to recently are sad. I guess many people dont go out for happy hour anymore. I was hungry when I got here so I ordered the fish tidbits. This is the fish you would get when you order Fish and Chips minus the fish and served in smaller pieces. The fish was good. I enjoyed this appetizer. I had a tall hefeweizen with this. Cant go wrong with beer. I was a little disappointed by how empty the bar was on a Thursday night but that is no fault of Maggies. Certainly worthy of 3 stars and a place I would come back to. read more

I came here for good friend of mine's birthday and man was this place packed! I would say if you plan on having a big group of people to make a reservation cause it seemed like almost every seat in this place was taken! As for the food, I ordered their fish and fritters since thats what my friend has been getting since he started coming here. The fish was this huge piece of cod, and the tarter sauce that came with it went so well together! Their fritters are actually really cool and first time having something like this. Its basically a huge potato slice thats battered and fried and since its pretty thin, it comes out crispy and just right! Another friend of mine ordered a Philly cheesesteak and that looked so good too, it made me contemplate what I wanted to get! The place is very loud in the evenings, so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're looking to have a conversation or else you'll have to do a good amount of yelling. Overall a nice place to be with family and have a good time with live music and good food! read more

Our family has frequented Maggie's Pub for over 2 decades. We've had parties there, attended various events and have never encountered what we experienced tonight. It was my aunt's birthday and she wanted to celebrate by hanging out with her family and enjoy the Band that was playing. It was all good until my cousin was discriminated against due to tattoos on his head. It was a bigger issue because he was initially let in, however when he walked out to walk his daughter to her car, they refused to let him back in. They have a posting of a laundry list of things they do not allow that states that no head tattoos, face tattoos "or any other gang related" tattoos are allowed. I'm not sure when tattoos became exclusive to gang members. This is some serious ignorance and extremely discriminatory. My cousin is an affluent barbershop owner, artist and musician, not a gang member!! Our family did not deserve to be treated this way tonight. Maggie's definitely needs to arrive at 2022 because tattoos are not a great indicator for gang affiliation. read more

Pretty cool place but unfortunately I visited it on a DEAD night. The good was the beer and atmosphere. I really wish it was a busy night cause I think I would have really liked this place. If I could give this restaurant a zero star I would. It first started when the security guard didn't want to let me and my cousin in so we wanted to talk to the owner about letting us in because we didn't have our ids and we are over 21 but we still wouldn't have even drank we just wanted to have a nice dinner for our grandmas birthday. Keep in mind we came all the way from Arizona so we can celebrate my grandmas birthday. Our food got to us at 8:55 only giving us 5 minutes to eat. The owner was constantly looking at us making us feel uncomfortable. When our food arrived my cousin had ordered fish and chips and her batter was not fully cooked. The waitress said that's how it's suppose to be but my cousins family has nothing but seafood restaurants and surely knows how it should look and be cooked. A couple minutes later Our whole family got kicked out because my dad has face tattoos of his own dad who just passed away when they even let my auntie in before him with a face tattoo. WOW! They surely profiled him by the way he looks. We couldn't even sit with our whole family and celebrate our own grandmothers birthday. I'll never recommend this restaurant to anyone. None Brits beware! This is not really how English food tastes! I tried the English sample plate so I could test it all. The only items that were good were the fish and the potato fritters. This was my first experience at Maggie's Pub. Friends and I wanted to watch the Dodgers game, and Maggie's was able to get our party of 11+ in without a problem. First good sign that I would enjoy this place. Luckily we were in time for happy hour, 3 appetizers of our choice for $20 bucks (not too shabby) And the portions were a decent size. What I was most impressed with about Maggie's is they had a wine selection. Since it's a pub, I expected beer only, but they had my drink of choice (wine) and that made my night. WARNING: DO NOT come here on Tuesday night thinking you'll meet anyone over 18... I mean 21. I hesitantly accompanied a friend here on a Tuesday night... first impression? This is high school with a fake drivers license. The line to get in was loooooong (but then again, what do you expect for two dollar beers?) Once we got inside we felt as if we were in a school cafeteria. The bartenders were rude (once again, two dollar beers? don't blame them) and the bathrooms were disgusting. Sometime recently Maggie's underwent new ownership. This last visit was horrendous to say the least. The only redeeming quality was the tasty food, but the service was beyond horrible. Our waitress continually messed up the orders, blamed us for it, then didn't even get the order right after that again after attempting to fix it. The last dish came out after *one* free dessert that she offered as an apology. Only problem to that? One dessert doesn't go far for a party of seven. After all of this we sat there for a good 20 minutes waiting for her to pick up the check. Only after banging on a glass to get her attention did we get to cash out and leave. She even added on tiny amounts to the $100+ bill to fix HER mistakes on it. I mean, really, after all of that you still need to charge an extra $3.25 when you couldn't even get the food out before dessert? I will never be back. read more

Well, after an hour and a half of chilling with friends, watching the Dodger game and drinking, one of the security guards comes up to us and tells my husband, "Hey bro, you have to take off your hat in here." Extremely interesting place. I visited for my second time last night, no reservation or anything... All the tables had reserved signs on them, but the hostess immediately walked us over to one and pulled the sign off to seat us... Why do all the tables have reserved signs if they are not really reserved? So, visiting an Irish Pub, Catholic green, on a Friday during Lent, and the specials are steak and lobster, teriyaki chicken, and sweet and sour chicken??? What is an Irish pub serving Asian food for in the first place much less as "specials"? What kind of Irish are they? We ordered the "Sherlock Holmes" because all the dishes are named after British figures. Again Interesting. Anyway, that is Fish and Chips (or fries for Americans). Eventually, the food came out and have to say that is was the completely tasteless, no taste whatsoever. I had to smother it in Cocktail sauce to have any to taste. It had the texture of cod and nothing else. Now I love fries, er chips, and will oft enjoy 3 baskets at Red Robin, we didn't even finish eating our chips they were so bland. I cannot see ever returning. I think I will go to the Olde Ship in Fullerton when I feel like food from the British Isles. Service was not any better. My water glass didn't get refilled until after we were done eating and ready to go. I don't really have much need for the waitress, take the order bring the food, not that hard. I had to knock off 2 points. I've been patronizing Maggie's since 1983. LOVE everything about the place. Then i heard new owners took over. Last Friday, I had the worst dining experience. The food is still EXCELLENT, but no one bothered to groom the poor waitress. She is very sweet, great personality and possesses lots of patience. But now I know why the dining area was empty on a Friday night (well until 9pm when people only came to drink and dance). Owners: Please teach your waitresses to come back to take the food order. I shouldn't have to hunt them down. Please train them to CLEAR THE TABLES. I had to ask 3 times. The dishes and the food remained on the table from 7:30pm to 11pm. Gross. The tartar sauce was now stinking up the entire place because it was hot and runny. Unbelievable. There was 10 of us dining. 10 of us will not be eating at Maggie's again. read more

Maggie's Pub should be a convenient place to grab a quick bite for lunch. Service is really fast and the servers are really nice. They seem like they try really hard to cater to the business lunch crowed and they seem very cognitive of the fact that you need to eat in a hurry and get back to work in a hurry. Food is just so so, nothing special but I don't mind eating here. So where's the problem with this place? Well, for a restaurant that appears to bend over backwards to serve the business lunch crowd they have one glaring issue, that for me is a deal breaker. They don't like separate checks. In fact, if you ask for separate checks, they try to steer you away and guess what, if you need separate checks, you will be automatically charged an extra 20% on your bill. Most of the folks I work with and go to lunch with use a business account and need to use separate checks, but if you wish to do so at Maggie's, you will have to pay up. Too bad, because now I can't recommend Maggie's! read more

Went here for St. Patty's day that has kind of been a tradition for my family the last couple of years. To say the least: Drinks tend to be overpriced for a place in the Springs. It felt like it was Cinco De Mayo due to the endless supply of Spanish Rock music. Really it's St. Patrick's Day, I would have accepted a rented leprechaun and maybe 1 Irish Folk Song. In the past there were Irish music etc. Not anymore.
