I came here to watch this last Tuesday's Mexico game and honestly was pleasantly surprised. First it's located in the busy district of Uptown Whittier and conveniently a block away from free public parking. I parked and walked over. Interior was great, cute but simple. I was told that the artwork that is hung is for sale. Great and unique. I was able to snag bar seating near the tv. There are plenty of tables and bar seats in the back with additional screens. Their food prices are affordable. I ordered their vegan menudo which was scrumptious and a chicken taco with a side of fries. literally no complaint. Delicious. I ordered 2 beers as well. Ambience was great, staff and service amazing. Honestly best little dive bar! read more

Beer selection is awesome. They had a rice lager, wine cocktail, and I end up going with an orange wheat beer that was lovely after a hike. $3.75 shrimp tacos can't beat that. I especially enjoy the ambiance and painted walls. TV's playing sports or western movies. read more

I love the vibes here. We stopped in to watch the Dodgers game and enjoy some wine. The bar top was full, but we got a nice table near the bar. Service was great. We didn't eat, but I do love the food here. Id love to try the chicken quesadilla next time. read more

This place sucked went to go get food today and it took 40 mins. Almost go food poisoning and the red plastic cup they give you had bite marks on them and chips like someone was chewing on them. Skip this place also the people that work there are rude. read more

We were out in Whittier for an event and needed a place to get some grub after and The 6740 seemed to tick all the boxes so in we went. First off the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We were greeted, seated and tended to pretty quickly. The pub has plenty of tables and also 2 bar areas. Pretty impressive considering the size but it didn't feel claustrophobic in the least. I picked this place because it has vegan options and wine so I ordered a vegan burger, fries and of course wine. I really appreciated when I gave my order that the server asked if I was vegan and made some sauce recommendations. Order can pretty quickly and my burger was so good. I think they use Beyond if I'm not mistaken and they offer vegan cheese. Wine hit the spot. The fries tasted a bit off. Not sure if it was the oil or what exactly. But the reason for the 3 stars is both my husband and I had stomach issues later that night. Nothing serious...just more like something didn't agree with us. The only item we both had were the fries. I'd still go back but maybe order a different side. There's street and garage parking which is always a huge plus. read more

If the goal here was to create a fun neighborhood hang out - goal accomplished! The 6740 is a casual, fun, friendly, relaxing restaurant/bar. The kind of place you want to meet your friends at. Booths and tables up front and a bar in the back. They have a wide selection of beer on tap, sports playing on TVs, local art work, fun music. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I tried Los Angeles Ale Works El Ray on tap, a cauliflower taco and a fish taco. The tacos were good. Both taco flavors were very similar. They are both beer battered and have the same toppings. . Another person in our group ordered the rice and beans. They really liked the flavor and spiciest of the beans. We also tried the vegan menudo, spicy and good Nice to see they are environmentally responsible and do not serve your food on plastics. They use reusable plates, glasses, cutlery, even have compostable straws. read more

We were waiting for the restaurant to open up next-door and decided to pop in and have a drink. It felt like we were walking into a boys club. Maybe it was we'll never know . The vibe is definitely all the cool guys in Whittier. I did see that they have their own rugby team. Which made me feel even more than it was a boys club. By the time we walked out out of the establishment one lady did walk in . We definitely didn't mind being surrounded by men. Regardless we liked it ! five stars read more

My boyfriend and I have been here a couple times and both have been so chill. Ryan was our server tonight and he understood the assignment. He is so friendly and asked if we were doing okay consistently throughout the night. I ordered a B.L.T. sandwich that was so flavorful. My colleagues and I met at The 6740 around noon on a Saturday. It's located in Downtown Whittier, where there are several free parking structures. We called ahead days prior to ask if they could accommodate a large party. When we arrived on the day of, seating was already arranged for us outside and our orders were taken right away. The lady who helped us was very nice and informative about their menu. I ordered the Fish + Chips ($18.50) which I absolutely loved. The batter was crisp, the fish was juicy, and the plate was packed with fries! Even though fish and chips is a pretty common dish, I found myself thinking about and craving this one for weeks after I had it. It's rare that I am in the area, but I hope I get to have their fish and chips again some time. read more

The staff welcomes our bikes inside so they're safe while we're sitting back relaxing. I would give them an extra half star just for that if I could! First time coming. Here was craving nachos. I ordered the large nachos with two sodas and one chicken taco over priced. It was $35. And when the server came back with my food within four minutes, the chicken looked like canned chicken tuna on top of my nachos, immediately paid for it and you left. Loved the food, the ambiance, and the service here. Simple food cooked well and unexpectedly delicious. There is healthy options such as the teriyaki bowl I ordered. My Brother and I went there today. It was ok, the food was tasty, nothing special. I thought it was a little over priced for what you got. Love this place! Cute patio area in uptown Whittier. They have my favorites: Belgium beer and Guinness. They also have vegan dogs and vegan menudo but still hit the junk food spot for meat eaters. We love to support our local eateries in uptown Whittier and 6740 is no exception! This is probably one of the most underrated and chill spots ever. If you are looking for good food, cold beer, great customer service and a chill (not loud) vibe this is your place. We love to watch Dodger games here when we want a quieter vibe and it never disappoints. I will continue to come here without a doubt. Strolling the area looking for a new place. Came across this place by chance asked the waitress on her way through the outside patio dinning what type of food is served here. She rattled off a few bar food items like chicken wings. We are not fans of bar food so we started to continue on our stroll when a gentleman said their ingredients are fresh and described other items. We chose to stay it was a very good choice! My husband ordered the fish-and-chips with fries. Very delicious. The the batter on the fish tasty and not greasy. I ordered a blue cheese hamburger it was served on a grain wheat bread bun. It was a petite size and oh so good. My salad was a mix with both wet and dry blue cheese. Check out the pictures...nothing more to say. Very disappointed in our last visit. My husband was cut off after 2 beers, and the establishment closed 2 hours before their regular business hours. Not sure if the owner is in the know of this, but despite the bar being "slower than usual" shouldn't amount to them closing at 9pm. We also saw the bartenders touching each other inappropriately which made all the events of the night highly unprofessional. Not sure if we will be returning. read more
