I had recently suffered a rather horrible bout of coughing, wheezing, sneezing and itchy eyes. These symptoms were on and off since purchasing my home in March. At first I assumed that I was just reacting to all of the flora and fauna that encircles the home, but it was constant. Then I had my furnace serviced by Pacific Heating & Air in April, and during the time they had it turned off, I noticed I wasn't having issues anymore. The guy said that it might just have been the need to clean the filter; which he did. I was fine for awhile, but then it came back violently within the latter part of May; to the point I had to take off of work and my place was filled with used napkins, towels, tissues and toilet paper, not to mention various shirt sleeves. Alavert, Claritin, nothing seemed to help, which meant it wasn't allergies in general. So I figured I would get a duct cleaning to see if it might just be some sort of dust or other pollutants blowing in through the system, After getting a ridiculous $800+tax quote from Pacific Heating & Air I decided to shop around, and found Magi-Klean here on Yelp. It was EXTREMELY difficult getting in touch with Terry. The contact number is his cell phone, he's got a small local operation, and the website is really a Yellow Pages ad that's been souped up with additional details. It took repeated call tagging to finally get connected, and was quoted a very fair $475 (this is the price I'm fairly certain I heard on the phone). They also work on the weekend, so I was able to get them in today (Saturday) so I didn't have to take off work. When Terry and Junior came (I didn't realize the person who came was Terry until after I looked on the receipt!), he said it was $495, but agreed to honor the $475 since it was only $20 off. I also opted for the sanitizing fog which was another $100 to kill bacteria. Tax is charged at 9.75%, so if you're calculating, make sure you take this into account. This is where they shined. Not only did they do the duct cleaning, they also took great pains to clean the barriers and cleanup afterwards, including vacuuming areas around the vents. Even more, they identified extremely dusty insulation batts stuck in the return vents (bizarre) that the previous owners apparently never knew was there, and took the time to remove it so the return vents could do their job. The airflow is at least twice as powerful now. They also cleaned under and behind the dryer, vacuumed the dryer vent, and reconnected the hose. The finishing touch was a deodorizer (vanilla) that makes the whole house smell fresh and clean. The difference is definitely noticeable. All told, for a 2000+ sq ft house, close to 5 hours of work. Turns out they can also clean crawl spaces and attic spaces, most anything that needs to be cleaned (I don't think they do pressure washing). Ask for a quote if you need either of these done, Terry will do what he can to match or beat competing quotes. Both guys were extremely polite and respectful and did a great job at a very good price. Budget would not allow me to get the full carpet cleaning or other service but I do plan to take advantage of this in the future. Was very impressed at the quality and I hope they remain successful - since they aren't Seattle based, means they're safe from the socialist minimum wage changes. read more

This is the first time I've ever written a review of anything...but this justifies it. Terry at Magi-Klean definitely went above and beyond. When I was moving out of a house, the landlord complained about a dog odor. I contacted Magi-Klean and they were able to schedule something right away. Terry came out and explained the process. He assured me their chemical treatment would get rid of any odors and that he stood by his work...if I was unsatisfied in any way, he'd come back and re-clean it for free. Well, it's not often that people have to back up those kinds of statements. But after a thorough carpet cleaning, the landlord complained he could still smell my dog. I couldn't smell anything and neither could several people I brought in to check. But Terry was true to his word. When the landlord contacted him, Terry came back out the next day and re-cleaned the entire house! Sadly, that's not the end. The landlord complained the smell was even worse somehow. This is when I knew it had nothing to do with Magi-Klean's fine work. The landlord was trying to cheat me into paying for all new carpeting. I asked Terry if he could simply provide me an email or letter saying that he believed he took care of the carpets to the best of his ability. Instead, Terry replied that "he'd make it right" and went out to clean the house FOR A THIRD TIME! Free of charge! This is exemplary and obviously someone who takes pride in his job. I will highly recommend Magi-Klean to anyone needing carpet cleaning services. P.S. I'm having to take the landlord to court for their shady dealings. We had our furnace, air ducts and carpets cleaned. Our carpets were very old and very dirty. Not only did they get out pet stains, some kind of oil spots, and red wine, but also some paint splatter. They vacuumed, cleaned and moved the furniture for us, once they were done, left all the furniture back in the proper spot with plastic on the legs to allow the carpets to dry. They also removed and power washed all of our vent covers in addition to the total HVAC cleaning. These guys were great to work with from beginning to end. Had them come out and clean 6 rooms (4 bedrooms, bonus room, office), 13 stairs, a hallway, a large sectional, and a loveseat with ottoman. Came to just over $400 and the work was great. Carpets all look fantastic and the sectional looks new again. Took almost 6 hours to do it all, but they worked hard the whole time. Very careful not to damage anything, they laid out blankets to protect our wood floors and made sure wall corners were safe. Would absolutely use them again. read more

We did our research and finally decided to give them a try. We never had this service done before but purchased a house two years ago and our dryer vent seemed a little plugged so we had that cleaned out and had them do all the the heating ducks. Watching them it seemed like they knew what they were doing and were very courteous and protective of the house. At then end we were happy. They did get in a little of a hurry at the end or just forgot and left the laundry room not clean. Also in the garage where they tapped into the duct they could have done a little better job by applying new silver tape as where they were it keeps falling off. These guys did a great job, we had carpets and air ducts cleaned- They educated me about my house and air ducts, which was nice! I def recommend I am only giving 4 stars because they moved supplies for a project in our garage to get to the furnace without asking & or saying they needed them moved - then didn't move them back and some screws for the project I was working on got lost in process. What I loved was their attention to detail when it came to keeping my house clean. I loved the fact that they used special booties and mats for my floor. They do quality work and I was pleasantly surprised that they do anything with air quality from sucking out my old installation and putting new, cleaning the vents and pressure washing the outside of the house and cleaning up the crawl space.
