Really disappointed given the cost. We have a small single story 1100sf house with only 10 air registers (furnace/blower located in a easily accessible closet) and the cost was $550+tax. For $600 I was expecting quality work. Ron (the owner) talks a good game on the phone. But in person is not such a nice guy... and was extremely demeaning to his helper. (I owned my own services company a few years back... and I would have *never* treated one of my employees - even day labor - as rudely as this guy did... especially in front of a customer). But okay... benefit of the doubt... maybe he was having a bad day. But the quality of the work was also disappointing... especially when I opened up the system and found a *lot* of old debris sitting at the bottom of the return part of the blower plus some other areas. I had to spend an hour+ just cleaning what they missed. And after a week... we are all still really congested... some I am doubting how well the ducts were actually cleaned. Oh and the "free" dryer duct cleaning... cleaned it all right out into my front bed by our front door where the duct attaches to the house. That's a cleanup for another day. To start off we got a quote of $550.00 for a 1250 square foot home. Then they tried to bill us $650.00 They broke the dryer vent causing it to leak from condensation in the ceiling. It took 11 months for the leak to soak through the sheet rock. Two separate contractors stated that the vent pipe was damaged by the vent cleaning. They refused to even send someone out to look at the damage. It cost us almost $1500.00 to have the pipe repaired and the sheet rock replaced. They do not stand behind their work. I don't know how most companies clean dryer ducting, but it seemed like this one didn't even try. First off, the owner was really rude to his employee. In a low voice, the helper told me he had only worked for the company for a couple of weeks and he didn't seem very happy. I wouldn't be surprised if he has quit already. They were here for around 30 minutes and half that time was spent setting up. I would expect some sort of suction device to be employed, or brushes to do the cleaning, but not in this case. The poor unfortunate soul who chose to work for the owner, stuck a small air hose, kind of like what you use when you fill your auto tire with air, as far as he could stuff it up the 35 foot long exhaust pipe while the owner told me to turn on the dryer. By this time, I regretted hiring this company. Without anything to contain the built up lint being pulled out, much of it blew away across the lot. I was very disappointed with the work preformed and felt my $220 was wasted on this company. I can't believe they managed to get all the lint out with the process they used. I'm disappointed with both the service and customer service to have my dryer vent cleaned. Ron quoted me at $175, then on the phone said it would be $200 because my vent went to my roof. When he got to my house he said he wouldn't go on the roof because it was too steep (despite other service people from other companies having no problem getting on my roof both the day before and day after he came). They cleaned my dryer from the inside, but still charged me $200 anyway. They also did not offer to wear shoe covers and did not fully replace my dryer to the proper place after finishing. The next day I had someone else on my roof for a solar tube I had installed and that installer told me my dryer vent on the roof was clogged and pulled out giant handfuls of lint (see photos) - my dyer vent was still this clogged the day AFTER I paid $200 for Best Air Duct to clean my dryer vent. When I told Ron that this happened and sent him photos, he simply told me that he wasn't going to do anything about it, that he cleaned the vents and they were fine; he did not offer to come back and clean the vent on the roof nor offer me a refund or discount or even give me an apology or any sense of remorse for not cleaning my vent fully. If I hadn't had the good graces and timing of another person on my roof, I wouldn't have known the fire hazard that was lurking on my roof because I was told my vents were clean. Then I told Ron that at the very least he overcharged me; he said he would refund me the $25, but two weeks later I still have not gotten a refund.
