    I'm so incredibly impressed with this company! I have a house with a walk-out basement, so the sides of my home are sloped hills, and my builder ran my dryer vent up to the attic from the second floor. This means my vent was 25 feet off the ground! American Classic, my home builder, also decided to use a $5 part to cover the dryer vent, a cheap three-louvered design. After nine years, two of the louvers broke off, so I had a hole in the side of my house. Not surprisingly, a bird decided to fly in there to get out of the cold. The bird went all the way into my house - right up to the dryer - and died. So I had a vent 25 feet off the ground in desperate need of a real vent cover, and a dryer hose that had never been cleaned in nine years. I got the bird out, but I couldn't fix the other problems. I called around to at least eight different places, and none of them could/would work on a vent that high off the ground or service the Renton area. Ventflow to the rescue! They came out on Monday after I called them on Friday (so quick service), and despite the challenging scenario of getting up on a ladder to mount a new, strong vent cover, they tackled it perfectly. They were professional, wore masks, and got the job done quickly. I'm so incredibly thankful that Ventflow is around to help home owners like me and I'll certainly use them again in the future for vent cleaning.

    I really wish every business was like VentFlow! I can't get over how smooth, easy, quick, professional, and cheap they were! I found them via Yelp and saw that all the reviews were 5-star--that's not normal. Between all their great reviews and mesmerizing before and after photos I reached out via the Yelp app to see if they were available. Not only did they reply within minutes, they gave a flat rate quote and was able to come out ASAP. VentFlow arrived on time with masks and gloves (and little bootie covers for shoes when inside!) and went right to work. My dryer vent vents out our new roof --and the roofers did not put the right vent on! It was a total fire hazard. They explained what had happened with the "vent" and what they did to fix what was there. They were only hired to clean the vent, but went way above and beyond. There was no bait and switch on price and there was no up-selling at all. I asked THEM what it would cost to cut into the roof and install the proper vent and it was WAY less than I anticipated. Our roof is under warranty, but if I do end up replacing the vent--I'm going with VentFlow. That should tell you something about them and their super reasonable rates. Yup, all 5-star reviews for a reason!

He was able to promptly provide a ballpark estimate for different options, and I picked one option to get a detailed quote. Also got two other quotes. Went with Goat to replace the furnace as well as an aging air conditioner with a new heat pump and furnace. Great service, got it installed quickly once Andrey received it. Price was great and very competitive with the other ones. House is warm and toasty, and energy bills are lower with the heat pump providing heating when it's not cold enough for the furnace. Would recommend and use again if needed.

The backstory: my family and I were in Alaska when the PNW had a big freeze and our pool heat pump condenser and above ground pipes froze and burst. No one was able to come to our home for a couple weeks due to all the other customer priorities dealing with the aftermath of the storm. I completely get it...a pool is not a priority when others are without heat. So our son purchased and installed a new condenser to get the pool water flowing to avoid frozen water in the pool cracking our pool walls and creating a much bigger problem! Our next challenge was to find a way to purchase and install a highly regulated refrigerant requiring a license and special tools. We soon learned that DIYing the refrigerant to get the heat pump working was not possible. For over three years I called different service companies asking for help - pool service companies such as Aquaquip who originally sold and installed the unit, and AquaCal; a different AquaCal, the manufacturer of the pool heat pump; other dozens of other HVAC contractors too numerous to mention except I will mention my serious disappointment with South Sound Plumbing with whom we spend a lot of money annually to service our other home heat pumps. After 30 different phone calls none would help us. "Too risky they" said, "wouldn't be able to warranty the work" said others. The truth? Our problem was simply too small a job or didn't fit their known expertise. Northwest was willing to help (BTW they showed up on the top of a list of HVAC contractors during my ChatGPT co-thinking session). I'm so grateful to Darlene (who took my call and listened with compassion to my unusual problem. I'm grateful to Zane, Northwest's Service Manager, who spent time deeply listening, brainstorming an approach, and getting someone out to our home. Finally, heartfelt kudos to Nate, our HVAC tech wizard, who successfully got our pool heat pump heating water! Yahoo! If you've got an HVAC challenge that doesn't fit neatly into your current HVAC service company's service menu or you want to partner with a company who really cares about delivering value and a great customer experience, I highly recommend Northwest Expert Heating, Cooling, and Electrical!

They failed to install proper vibration pads, which I can understand, but it really should be corrected. At the next service appointment, I reported the issue expecting it to be fixed. Unfortunately, they've since consistently delayed and outright refused to fix the problem. I followed up at least 5 times - each time being told I'll get a call back. Thankfully the issue isn't having a big impact on the heat pump itself, but it is disappointing that they've failed to honor their service contract.

    tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible…read more I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)

In related news, I later found out that asking adding a surcharge for debit transactions is actually illegal per U.S. Federal law. Good to know. Pro's - Basic work seemed to be done well and at a price that was competitive with others I contacted at least for the basic service. - Communication was prompt. - After some re-scheduling on their part, the team did the work swiftly and efficiently. - Most of the terms were clear in advance, using Yelp Projects. Con's - This is a fairly shiesty corner of the home maintenance world. Many providers seem to give you a low-ball estimate to get in the door and then upsell significantly. - Envirosmart is not an exception. - The initial quote was $200. This included scoping the ducts and doing the negative pressure clean-out. - Onsite, they then upsold me to $670 for a more thorough brushing of the vents, sanitation, and some other ancillary services. - They were only modestly well-organized. They called the day-of to reschedule because of a conflict with internal training. They also confirmed a different time than I had originally scheduled. It was the difference of a 9 to 11am original window and a 2:30-3pm arrival. - The Yelp Project communication could have been clearer. They did not specify whether they were calling to quote me or coming to do the service! Amid all this and with some clarification and flexibility on our part, we worked it out. I would have appreciated either a discount or additional service for the delay. None was proffered. I did not go ahead with the upsell as I had already gotten quotes for less from other providers with somewhat more transparent pricing. I think the work they did appeared fine. See attached pics. Your guess is as good as mine which are before and which are after! They did not specify when they sent them to me and email took off the timestamp. I'm hoping the cleaner ones. I probably will try another service when I do this again and with a higher rated provider. All in all, though, I had low expectations and those low expectations were met.
