Came for the evening on the 4th of July with a bunch of coworkers, gifted by our company (thank you!). Food and atmosphere were outstanding! Lively group, beautiful view of the city. Felt like a sold out event, but not too crowded and still plenty of space to move about. Partial view of the fireworks (we knew ahead of time they would be difficult to see, so not a big deal for us), but still great. People were super friendly and the vibe was fun. Good food. Good DJ. What a beautiful venue! I arrived at behind the rest of my party and was still allowed to sit with them. The group ordered the chicken and corn bread, the mixto frito, the tuna tartare and guac . Honestly everything was delicious! Let's not forget the cocktails. The girlie pops has both cocktails and mocktails and rated them all 10/10. The views are amazing and most of the staff is kind. The 3 stars here are truly for the view. Came here after a play to do a night cap with light bites. The views were awesome. It was low light a cute water feature and low playing music. The problem was the light bite/dessert menu is about 10 items. OK maybe 12. We asked for three things. All three things were not available. With an already limited menu I was disappointed to find nothing I really wanted. Ended up getting the smores dessert. It was tapas and in a single serve Mason jar. Tried the local spritz (very refreshing, reminiscent of a hugo spritz but with watermelon instead of lime) and matchatini (creamy and milkier) and both were delicious. Overall, we had a decent experience at Hudson VU. Unfortunately, it was raining when we went, and since there is a steep fee to cancel your reservation, we decided to go anyway and sit inside at the bar. The bartenders provided excellent service and gave us several recommendations for other spots around the city. The cocktails, however, were a bit too sweet and lacked balance, especially for the price. We also ordered the tartare and beet salad. The salad was alright, nothing particularly memorable, but the tartare was incredible and easily the highlight of the meal. I'd love to come back and sit outside during sunset because I'm sure the views would be amazing. The indoor space was smaller than I expected, but it was still a nice atmosphere overall. If you are looking for a spot with city views, good food and cocktails, Hudson Vu is the place for you. The wrap around views of the rooftop definitely give you lovely view of Manhattan and New Jersey. We had the Birdcage, Tuna Tartare,Croquettes and the Calamari & Rock shrimp pearls. The birdcage is a must try, the fried chicken is crispy and tender. It comes with a side of warm cornbread. The tuna tartare was fresh and the avocado mousse paired perfectly with it. They were our top two favorites. For the cocktails we got the Temptress, Golden Hour and an Old Fashioned. All the drinks were well made! For dessert, the chocolate gateaux was a perfect chocolate dessert to end the dinner. The service was prompt! If it's a windy day be sure to bring a jacket as the outdoor seating area did not have heaters. read more

Amazing food! I wasn't totally blown away by most of the places I went to on this New York trip, but Hudson Vu was the exception. The portions were huge and each dish was so unique. We got fried chicken, cornbread, and other fun apps to share. And the views! So so pretty--there's still some construction going on but once that's all done this will be a hot new rooftop spot. The service was great as well, the server let me charge my phone and kept up with our fast paced dinner before my broadway show. Will be back! read more

This place popped up on my Insta and looked amazing, and I was not disappointed when I finally visited. First, I highly recommend making a reservation if you are going on the weekend because it was packed! The bar and decor inside were really nice. The seating can be a bit packed inside, which I do not like since it's a struggle to go in and out. But outside is very spacious, and the views are amazing, and of course, the mini pond in the middle is a nice touch, but I think they could do more with it. But that's my opinion. So make sure to book the outside seating! I had to try The Birdcage, which is more than enough for two or even three people, along with the Honey Glazed Carrots, which my bf loved, and for dessert, the Passionfruit Sorbet, which I recommend, but it is seasonal. As for drinks, I got the Miss Behavin', of course, and my boyfriend got the Local Spritz, both of which were really good and very pleasing to the eye as well! If you're taking the subway, it is a bit of a way to get it, but being that it's by the water, it's so worth it because of the amazing views--hence so many pictures, lol. Came here for pre-dinner drins while in NYC. This rooftop bar is located on the 16th floor of Ink 48 Hotel. There is a dedicated elevator that takes You straight to the bar. Reservations were required during our visit and we made them a few hours before our arrival. They do not have a happy hour. We were greeted by a pleasant hostess and seated. We ordered at the bar first and got rose cider (clean, crisp with a hint of sweetness) and an old fashioned ( perfect balance of whiskey and bitters). When them decided to get a table and order a few cocktails: Miss Behavin'(), Local Spritz (), and the Rendevous-Vu (), which was our favorite. They do have a limited food menu. The rooftop offered sweeping views of NYC and the Hudson River with plenty of outside seating if you prefer. We also noticed that on special nights they have a DJ. All in all a nice place to enjoy drinks at sunset or a light bite while in NYC. read more

This rooftop has a gorgeous view of the city. I came with a big group. Even though we didn't make reservations in advance, they were able to accommodate us on a Friday night. They have low tables and chairs for lounging on the roof and a good signature cocktail menu, though prices were high. I think most of the drinks were close to $25 each. I enjoyed the Rendez-VU. I got the chance to visit this restaurant with friends. When I arrived I found parking on the street nearby. I walked into the hotel and took the elevator up. The place was super cute and we were seated. The views were nice. I ordered the coffee mocktail drink and added a shot and had the vodka martini. My friends ordered different dishes. They also gave us sunglasses for the sun that was blazing. We wanted to split the check to pay for our own but they couldn't do it so I ended up putting it on my card. Second time here in a few months and love everything about the Vu experience. We made a reso on Tock for sunset cocktails. We called ahead as we were running behind and Sal made us feel welcomed back and gave us a great hi-top table in a perfect spot. Menus, water and a whole lot of smiles and attention showed up promptly from our server, Ray. She was really fun, gave us some good menu suggestions...and the celebration began. Our cocktails were tight and the beet salad as well as the sugar snap salad were superb. Both were unique, fresh and quite satisfying. We then broke down and went for the birdcage full of crunchy well spiced boneless chicken. So good! All in all, the Vu is a great spot near our neighborhood. My friends and I attended their 4th of July party. For $250 per person, they promised: 3 hours of open Bar; Continuously Passed Hors d'Oeuvres; Chef's Food Station by Chef Carlos Letona - modern, elevated takes on American favorites; Live DJ, and a view of the fireworks. There was one bartender for the entire party so the lines were always long. There were supposedly 4 kinds of passed hors d'oeuvres, but we only saw a few platters of tuna tartare cones (which were good). There was ONE station of food offering brisket sliders with potato chips. You couldn't see the fireworks at all; they promised that they would set up a monitor but did not. The DJ was fine. $250 per person felt like a total ripoff. We bonded with the other guests, all of whom had the same reaction. It was the Fyre Fest of July 4th. read more

We had the corn ribs, which were well seasoned with the chili and lime. The Masa Croquettes were AMAZING, we even tried to take an order home but sadly we were told the restaurant doesn't make orders to go. Steak Skewers were tender, juicy and flavorful. Lastly, we went for the Bird Cage, it's crispy, the corn bread is fresh, the sauces were a nice touch as well. NONE of it made it to the phone, only my mouth ‍ sorry my friends. Hello Yelpers, I had the pleasure of visiting Hudson VU this past week and boy are the views breathtaking. I love the vibes and strongly recommend this spot for a date or to hang with friends. FYI no hats and you should dress business casual. We ordered the birdcage which was breaded chicken thighs, they were good but I'm more of a chicken breast girl. Please note the chicken was good. My favorite part was the homemade cornbread. Boy were they yummy. The drinks were amazing. I cannot remember the name of my drink but it's in the photo. Saw this place opened a few weeks ago and I just had to see what the hype was all about. I love a nice rooftop with great views of the city. Parking can be a hassle though so be prepared. Came here on a Sunday. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us. First, the place is very pleasing to the eye. The views are great, and there is ample space outside to sit. This will definitely be a hotspot in the summer, I can feel it. There were a good number of people coming and going. The service was excellent. From our waitress to the manager, I felt very welcomed. I wish the menu had more options but what they currently have is definitely worth a try. Whatever you order just make sure to get the corn ribs! It was like crack. We ordered 2 of them, that is how good it was. Try the crab wrapped in grape leaf. It is big enough to share and ther give you lots of crab meat. Didn't have to wait long for my food which is a plus. I didn't try their cocktails because I was driving, but their mocktails were really good and decent price for where we were. Come here with a group of friends or on a nice date. I went there for a birthday dinner on a trip to NYC. Please don't waste your time here if your trip is limited. And save your money. We booked our reservation and they wouldn't let us sit outside. Also the servers refilled my water once the entire dinner. The food was subpar, there are much better places in NY to spend $56 on a Beef Wellington. Sea Bass was also not the best ever. I would say this place is more of a bar, but the drinks were not amazing either. Might as well just go to another rooftop. read more

Was very excited to try out this new restaurant while staying at Ink 48. We were told we needed a reservation and if we didn't show up, it's a $50 cancellation fee. We tried to get in a little before our 10 o'clock reservation. We were told they were booked. We decided to go up for a nightcap and ordered two drinks. An espresso martini, and one of their Matchatini specialty drinks. Service was extremely slow. We also asked to order their one dessert on the menu and were told they were all out. They offered us gelato a salted caramel that had a nice flavor, but a weird texture very grainy. Our drinks arrived. Any espresso martini did not have Baileys, which is typically optional, so we asked for it, however they don't stock Bailey's in their bar so my travel companion could not obtain drink in the way she had expected. She asked about several other liquors to add to the beverage and the only one they had was Grand Marnier. It literally a half an hour for that to come in the meantime, my specialty drink, although very pretty was incredibly sour and in my opinion inedible. I returned it, something I very seldom do. Each of the times we asked for assistance. There was a very long wait. Even asking for water took about 15 minutes before it arrived. The establishment was not that busy and even though we asked if we could sit outside, we were told we could not since that was not where our reservation was. We could visually see that there were spaces available outside. Overall, a very disappointing experience. For $89 for two inedible drinks and mediocre gelato. I would definitely not recommend a visit when in the city. There are just too many other places to spend your dollars!! read more

Stunning Views with STUNNINGLY Bad Service You'd think it'd be hard to mess up a rooftop with such a beautiful setting but somehow, Ink 48 has done it again. Hudson VU is nothing more than a rebranded Press Lounge, which was notorious for its poor service and overpriced drinks. Sadly, the name is the only thing that's changed. We were seated and waited 25 minutes without being greeted, only finally getting attention when I got up and found a staff member myself. I even brought it to a manager's attention, and she did absolutely nothing to assist or rectify the situation. From the time we were seated to when we got our first drinks (just a beer and three wines), nearly 40 minutes had passed. What should you expect: -$15 beers -$20 appetizers that are barely more than a bite -A side of arrogance you wouldn't even find at a Michelin-starred spot I live in the neighborhood and swore off this place years ago. The rebrand piqued my interest, but it was a mistake to return. Hudson VU clearly caters to unsuspecting out-of-towners, charging high prices while delivering subpar service. If you're looking for a roof experience that actually delivers on its promise of ambiance and service, head to The Peak instead. Hudson VU is just a renamed disappointment, still playing by the same playbook that shut them down the first time. If you go, keep your expectations low and be prepared to spend $75-$100 per person for slow service, tiny portions, and a side of attitude. read more
