First time at Bonsai Nail; last minute decision to get a pedicure and i found this salon. Salon is in a plaza with a lot of other businesses; some food and coffee options so if you are hungry before going in, can always grab something quick. Plaza can get busy but lots of free parking . Walked in, no appointment but i didn't have to have to wait. There were a lot of people there getting their nails done. They were very professional. My bail tech, Phuong Tran, was courteous and quiet. He didn't say much during my pedicure other than to check if somethings hurt. He ended up re-doing one nail, he didn't explain why, but at least the end result was good. I got white with gel, which i always get before summer starts. I didn't have cash on me, since i decided to go there last minute, but the Tech had Venmo so i was able to send him a tip. The pedicure cost $55 which i think is good price for a gel pedicure. Stopped in quick to get a gift card for a friend who is always raving about how much she loves it here .. and now I see why! Her nails always look perfect !! I went recently with a friend and the man who greater us at the door was beyond friendly and kind. He knew my friends name and learned mine from my appt check in. He helped me take my coat off and hung it on my pedicure chair. I choose the milk and honey pedicure and they light a little candle and made it fancy. If you look at my reviews from years ago I said they needed *extra* and well they brought it. I'm so impressed. I will get all my pedicures here now! I went for a classic French manicure and the tech filed my nails down to nothing. She even exposed the quick on my thumb. She shaped them square when I asked for round. Went home and immediately removed the polish. It looks like I chewed my nails down to nothing. If he proposes this weekend there definitely won't be any pictures of a ring on these fingers. read more

They are very nice here but the quality lately is lacking. I went for a gel French pedicure and a short French full set. Spent $130...Both came out mediocre and it wasn't a relaxing visit at all. So far I've seen 3 people here and they've been great. They've even gotten me in for later in the evening appointments. The atmosphere is very relaxing. The ambiance is very light and clean. They have a huge selection of gel, regular and other polishes as well as a large staff with very short waits. They are also very skilled in doing specialty styles like French and ombré nails. Not sure why they have such weird ratings on here. It's so organized and really reasonably priced for the quality. My nails last. Give them a shot! read more

So sad, Bonsai had gone WAY downhill since COVID. Their prices have gone up and quality has gone DOWN. The pedicure barely lasts 30 minutes. They just go through the motions to get in you in and out as soon as possible. The only reason I continue to go here is because Tom does the best job on my dip manicure. It lasts me 3-4 weeks, longer than any other salon I've been to. I'd go elsewhere for my pedicure, but I just don't have that luxury of time. read more

Might've found my new go to nail salon! Located in the newly developed strip of stores near Emerald Mall, next to Starbucks - not the easiest entrance to get into if you're coming from the mall side - you have to go past the strip to the next light and the entrance is a small entry into the back end of the plaza. The place is pretty immaculate and bright. And it didn't reek of nail polish like some salons do. They had a pretty large array of polishes - regular, dip and gel. We got there 30 mins after they opened on a Sat and they were slammed! The hostess said it would be a 20-25 mins wait. Crazy how it looked like they had about 20-25 technicians (most salons I've been to usually have 5-10) and every one of them was working. Can't be a bad thing if they're this busy just after 30 mins of opening! What I really appreciate was that they actually made room for all 3 of us to sit together for our pedis instead of taking us one at a time when someone became available. I only got a pedi and was pretty satisfied with what I got. I know it's petty but I really appreciate that pretty much all of the technicians spoke English - makes for a smoother experience as they understand exactly what you're asking for. My sister got the dip nails manicure and it came out really good!! And kudos to them having a handbag hook at every manicure station! The only thing missing that I typically have gotten from most nail salons was a complimentary massage but it didn't take points away from my experience. From my experiences from nail salons - Bonsai is like a well oiled machine. They're very professional and move through servicing their customers pretty quickly. If you're waiting, they won't hold your place if you leave - they were very adamant you had to stay inside and wait your turn. Just a tip : I checked in to take advantage of the $5 off any service - the hostess looked confused and went to go talk to the manager. They said they'd honor it but that they've been trying to get this off of Yelp. They were only offering it when they first opened a year ago but have been having difficulty trying to get rid of the check in special - so they may or may not honor it. read more

I had the best experience with Tim at Bonsai Nail Bar this past Sunday! All safety protocol was followed in regards to COVID and the staff were beyond kind and happy to see clients. A quick temp and questionnaire was required prior to signing in. Tim did a fantastic job on my pedicure - really thorough and kept checking in on me. My manicure was fantastic. I specifically asked for the white tip to be thicker than normal, and he said "no problem" and did my nails exactly as I hoped. We chatted the whole time and the massage was fantastic! The place itself is well decorated, calming music, tv's on the walls playing the ocean waves, photographs and a fish tank. A wide variety of color options, gel and dip powders. And I can't say this enough, this place is extremely clean and well taken care of! It was a pleasure seeing Tim and visiting Bonsai! Next time I'm in town I'll be back! Thanks Tim! read more

I was hoping this was going to be my new nail place as my daughter had gone previously and recommended it. I did like the way I was greeted right when I walked in, and they could provide a pedicure right away. Unfortunately, the technician was very rough with my feet, which made for a less than relaxing experience. During the foot manhandling, she nicked my cuticle, and it would not stop bleeding for the rest of the pedicure. After 45 minutes of trying to get it to stop bleeding, I told the technician I was late for a dinner with family and I would have to go. I told the manager I was not happy with a still bleeding foot and he put a spot of antibiotic lotion on it and took $4 off my pedicure. Three weeks later and I still have a scab on my toe, needless to say I won't be going back. read more

So the people here are great, nice & friendly. The quality of nails is sub-par. I get dip nails & this past visit was not a good set. I wanted plain black with an orange accent nail for Halloween & for some reason I have sparkles & a grainy look. I got them done on Saturday, today is Tuesday and my middle finger nail is already lifting and catching on my hair. It's only been 3 days. The shapes are all wonky and my surfaces are bumpy & streaky. I actually went to the checkout & the woman at the front wanted to see my nails and said they were still wet & rough/bumpy since she missed a spot. Mind you I couldn't tell with oil and lotion all over my hands & black doesn't always show everything at first. I went back for her to fix them & I think it made them even more streaky. I don't know if I'll be back unfortunately although this place is very central to where I live. Hopefully they can be a bit more meticulous going forward! read more

I honestly hate writing bad reviews but this isn't the first bad experience I've had at this shop and i keep trying to give this place another chance but the quality of service just isn't there. After looking at my nails in natural light they look terrible I've never had dip look this bad. I thought i was overreacting thinking she was rushing through the service but turns out i was right. My cuticles are cut up and bleeding from the drill being used on them and she didn't cut them. There is dip residue all over my hands and acrylic caked underneath every nail. She really could not have put less effort in. At this point I'm just praying I don't get an infection. read more

My first experience here was great, my last 2 experiences however, were horrible. Usually after one mess up I don't return but the owner is a sweetheart so I gave another chance. BIG MISTAKE!! $35 for a fill??!! No design, just a fill. Wtf?! The tech I had was rough, she cut me with the nail file because she filed my skin, I told her not to cut my nails down and she did anyway, my nail beds are burning from the alcohol she used, the shape is horrible and the paint job is even worse. I'm officially done with this place. Its overpriced and I don't mind paying for quality, but my nails look like shit it wasn't even worth $10. read more

I went to Bonsai a few weeks ago. I usually have no complaints. Its usually very nice. I went there for a relaxing pedicure but my experience was awful. The lady was rude , rough, . She left scrapes and cuts on my feet. I hope everything sterilized well. I took pictures. My foot burned when she rinsed them. She iinsulted me on my bracelet. She got mad at me because I didn't place my feet correctly. I called the next day to complain and the manager didn't say much. I was very upset with the whole experience. I will not go there again. I have been to about three different nail salons trying to find one that could be "my nail salon" in the area where I now live (I tried some where I was previously from around Andover too and none worked out) This place is totally my new place! The nail bar is new, in a new plaza- it is pretty large. Very clean/ modern and nice inside. I liked it as soon as I walked in. I called earlier in the day and was able to get an appointment at the time I wanted so that was also a plus as I know we are close to the holiday and they can get busy. The man at reception was very nice and professional. I was getting dip nail manicure and there were so many colors to choose from. I always go with a black or dark colors in general and they had plenty. The woman that took me was named Amy I think? She was so nice and friendly, had a good sense of humor. I explained to her that my nails were really sensitive and to be careful with the buffing/ drill. She listened and I had no pain while she was taking off my old polish and buffing out the new. She was great. The entire experience was nice. I like how they treat their clients here, I noticed professionalism throughout while I was there. Very warm and welcoming. I'm really pleased! I went there a couple times and was charged normal prices for gel manicure and gel pedicure. Until some rude woman began to run the front all the other people are nice but she is definitely not. I got a gel pedicure and she made me pay 70 dollars! I was like WHAT and she's like that's what it cost it shouldn't be a problem since you paid that last time. I told her I have never in my life paid 70 dollars for a gel pedicure at most 50 dollars. When I left I thought they felt unnaturally thick but tried to adjust to them. Next day I returned to ask if they could fix them. It's similar to the Bonsai Nail Salon in East Providence but on a much larger scale. they have multiple manicure and pedicure stations. everything is modern and sterile. They offer various levels of services and incredibly fair prices. The staff were professional and prompt. The receptionist was friendly and organized. once all of the customers were settled the receptionist brought complimentary waters around to everyone. My tech took her time and made me feel very comfortable and wel I was quite impressed and I'm looking forward to many more visits. Every time I visit this salon the owners and staff make me feel like I'm VIP. They never rush and they make you feel as if you were the only customer in the salon. Went yesterday for a dip manicure and pedicure. Both came out nice - got the upgraded Bonsai Bar pedicure and the massage could have been longer. Says it comes with 10 minutes but I don't think it was that. My major gripe is the music - or lack thereof. They played a child's lullaby and running water sounds. It was beyond boring. I get the "spa" vibe they were trying to go for and I'm not looking for dance music but I legit had to pee 3 times while I was there from listening to running water for 2 hours. The tech was Kayla .. she rushed the removal and popped two of my nails off. She looked at me and said "WHOOPS". I was so mad. She said, "just put a tip on". If I wanted tips I wouldn't have grown/taken care of MY nails. Then she tried to tell me my nails are weak and that's why it happened. I have had dip applied and removed before without this happening. The receptionist (I think owner) came over and the basic comment was "well no matter what we say, it won't change it now". Beautiful nail salon, it's their 3rd day opening. Mom and i were exciting to come to try this place out. Unfortunately, the nail tech we got were very inexperience. We both got gel manicure done, they painted over my cuticle and the color came out uneven. It's took them forever to do my nail. They barely cut my cuticle. Some nail were file square, and some were filed in between round and square. Very poor job! I bet that this will come off in 3 days. I got my nail done a lot so i have the experience. This all changed today when I walked into Bonsai Nail Bar with my friend. The atmosphere was calming and all the employees had smiles on their faces. I felt very welcomed and no longer anxious to be there. The woman who did my dip powder manicure, Kayla, was very kind and personable and I felt happy to be there instead of stressed out that something might go wrong. She even suggested that I do a sparkly accent nail and I'm so glad she did because it was just what I needed!
