Living in downtown KC, a restaurant has to be extremely good for me to drive 30 min out of the way. Magic Noodle is just that. I have gone several times now and have left feeling fully satisfied every time. Maybe it's a good thing that I don't live too close, because I may be caught here way too much. Our most recent trip down south to Magic Noodle was on a cool rainy day, which was too perfect for a big bowl of noodle soup. The interior is very relaxed and clean. Their kitchen is in open view from the dining area, and it's fun to watch the chef create the hand pulled noodles right in front of you. I have tried several of the noodles including The Magic, Triple B, and Magic Beef. You can't really go wrong with any of these. If I had to choose one I would definitely recommend the Triple B. The juicy braised beef chunks just ranks supreme over the sliced beef. This place is definitely worth trying out! I cannot wait to go back especially as the weather cools. read more

The highlights of my trip to Magic Noodle was the open kitchen, watching a chef making the hand stretched noodles and the robot the delivered our appetizer. The crab Rangoons were some of the best I've had in awhile! They were filled generously. I ordered the magic chicken and my husband ordered beef stir fry noodles. The magic chicken was good but could benefit from some more flavor. My husband enjoyed his noodles. Night started out great. Great appetizers and great waitress. When ordering my main meal there was a mishearing when I asked for the magic chicken, I was given the magic. The magic contains pork and beef whole the magic chicken does not, understandable mistake, was not mad. When i recieved my bowl i seen beef and picked it out thinking a small mistake was made. I then realized it was a pork chop and tripe was in the bowl. I haven't had pork in over 4 yrs. The pork chop resembled a chicken breast. I then realized this was the wrong bowl and less than 1/4 of the bowl was eaten. My stomach felt uneasy and I asked the waitress if they were able to just take it off the check. A different rude lady came back telling me I was getting a magic chicken and not a refund. We tried cancelling the order but it was made and when asking for it to go the lady continued her rude behavior and smart remarks. Not a great experience. read more

I am very intrigued by all of it--the AI Cat that serves the table, the hand-pulled noodles in front of your eyes, the menu all looked amazing and I wasn't sure what to get. But in reality, it was a bit of a disappointment. The star of the show was obviously the noodle, but everything else was just sub-par. The Dandan noodles almost tasted like hamburger helper, which is not bad but not great. I tried my friends stir fried flat noodles and they were good, a little stuck together though. The fish soup my husband got was probably the best, with the fish balls full of something delicious. The takoyaki was interesting and different--more of a fish ball than a fried dough octopus ball I'm used to having. The gyoza tasted good but was greasy. Overall I'd say if I'd ordered better I might have given it higher stars but it was worth a trip. read more

Finally got around to trying Magic Noodle after hearing so much from friends about it! The restaurant itself is very sleek and modern-looking, and staff was fast to seat us when we walked in. We each ordered different things to try them out! We got the Magic Beef, The Magic, and Triple B, and tried out the String, Mid-Flat, and Flat noodles. Overall, I'd rank the noodles as: 1. Triple B 2. Magic Beef 3. The Magic Triple B and Magic Beef had good broth, but The Magic's broth was blander than the others. Overall, the flavor of Triple B lived up to the hype that I heard, but Magic Beef and The Magic had good broth, but not as "magical" as I thought it would have been. Of the three noodles, I preferred the flat noodles the most! But I also like thick, chewy noodles so that's just personal preference. Magic Noodle is also a pretty far drive which is why I'm not as inclined to make that drive to come here on a fairly regular basis. Overall, I enjoyed the experience! Staff was very nice and it's cool to see the noodles being made in front of you! So you KNOW the noodles are fresh! Would def recommend to anyone visiting the OP area! read more

Overall it's worth a try. I've heard of this place from my other Taiwanese friends, and the comment from them includes the cute robot server and the varieties of handmade noodle. They though the flavor is ok, not too bad. They said it's still worth a try since there is no other places like this restaurant having this unique service that Taiwanese miss so much in KC area. So today I drove 25min to this place and got the two most well known Chinese "beef noodle soup" N1蘭州拉麵，N3紅燒牛肉麵 for takeout. The front desk staff was really friendly and helpful. Then I drove another 25min back to home with my order. First I noticed that the broth are the same but it shouldn't be the same for this two extremely different genera of beef noodle soup. One is more light and clear (N1) the other should be thick and dark or even added some spicy oil. The noodle type I choose are flat noodle. And when I tried the N1 first, I gave the broth and the beef some credit. But I can't finish the noodle. Yes, the portion of the noodle is generous, so does the meat, but it's the texture that made me feel bored and starting to feel I am eating the cooked dough. I am not sure if they cut the dough then pull on two side to make the flat noodle (usually it needs several round of pulling) or just make a dough ready then press it to a big flat circle and cut it into the noodle. The cut one is less chewy and the pulling one has the best texture for beef noodle soup. So I agree with all my Taiwanese friend that this restaurant brings the great culture about noodle restaurant from Asia to the KC area. It's definitely a pleasure to see the noodle is made in-front. But I probably will only revisit when I am around this restaurant or there is a gathering set up in this restaurant. read more

I visited Magic Noodle during a weekend trip to KC. I saw videos of the robot server online and can confirm that it's even cuter in person. I enjoyed the open kitchen and seeing the chefs make the noodles. My boyfriend and I started with an order of crab rangoons brought to us by the robot server. They were fresh and delicious, with a crispy outside and a creamy inside that was sort of sweet. For our main dish, we both ordered stir fry. The smell and taste of the noodles were very good. The portions are big, so plan on having leftovers. Don't scarf down the noodles too fast, or you might feel sick afterward like we did. However, it was delicious, and I recommend going for both the food and the experience. read more

The restaurant has a clean, well-designed, and bright aesthetic, show-casing the noodles being pulled and cooked as customers wait for their orders. The broth however needs a little bit more work and depth. It's pretty bland and tasteless. The beef and meats help with the flavoring but to truly get to a higher rating, it needs to have a more outstanding taste. I hope they change their recipe, or at least not have it watered down as much. All in all, I'm really glad there are more Chinese restaurants popping up in KC. It has been a long time since the KC has had hand pulled noodles and I was really excited when I heard this place was opening. Then I started seeing friends post about it in Vegas and was really excited (until I realized they were not the same n place, just had a very similar name and look). After Magic Noodle opened, I was hearing a lot of mixed reviews. When I met up with some friends to try it, we all pretty much agreed with other friends' reviews. Everyone really liked the noodles itself but not so much how they cooked it. The broth is pretty bland and seemed very watered down. It's almost like if they added more water to the broth throughout the day but didn't bother to add other seasoning to it. The appetizers were good but definitely small portions that weren't worth the price. The flavor of the stir fried noodles were also lacking. I normally like food more bland than other people, but a lot of dishes were pretty bland. The place itself is really cute. I really like that we are able to see the noodles being freshly made. The service there definitely needs some work. For the majority of our visit, the waitstaff sat on the other end looking at their phones...which would be fine if our drinks weren't always empty and we didn't have dirty dishes piling up on our table. There were 2 people who seemed to be busy running around the whole we were there. They should have probably asked the 3 girls on their phones to help carry some of the load. The noodles, hand pulled noodle guy and those 2 girls deserve 4-4.5 stars, but unfortunately everything else from my experience brought the overall score down. read more

Came here last Saturday to celebrate my late birthday celebration & I really enjoyed it. The restaurant wasn't big but the robot delivering the food was enjoyable to see. I can't remember the decor though. The station where they made the hand pull noodles was also neat to experience the making of the noodles we were having. Food was great!! The garlic edamame had a good seasoning & garlic wasn't too much or too little. I can't pin point the taste at the moment but I know we were all trying to figure it out at the table. I also got the sizzling fresh squid but didn't read what sauce was on it. Just bbq sauce. In my opinion it wasn't what I was expecting. As my main dish I ordered the Magic bowl (Beef stock, sliced beef, pork chop, fried egg, beef tripe, pickled radish, cilantro, & scallions) with round medium size noodles. I enjoyed the fact it didn't taste like it was fully cooked which someone might not like. My friend got the same type of noodle & she wished it was cooked a bit more. To each their own. Haha. The spicy chili sauce isn't spicy so that's a tip for anyone who's looking to make their dish spicer. Everyone loved their food & we will return again! The staff was great! Very friendly & helpful. Overall we had a very good dinner here! The space is brand new. We came early and we were seated immediately at a booth- the food came out quickly after we ordered. The scallion pancakes were delicious, the flavor of the lamb skewers was great (though some of the pieces were too fatty and chewy), and the beef scrolls were good. The beef noodle soup was really tasty; the noodles were awesome and the broth was very flavorful. The stir fried noodles were pretty good as well, though I prefer the noodle soup. We had so much fun im that I forgot to take photos! My husband had a college friend with kids in town and I had heard about a restaurant where a robot delivers your food so we decided to check it out together. There was a large table in the back that was perfect for us! The server was amazing, and all of them really because we had four toddlers with us who were being difficult and they were so nice to us through the whole thing. Our server even handed the youngest a lemon to play with. We felt like we weren't a bother at all, which is such a relief as a mom to young kids. On to the food- the kids loved the scallion pancakes. We all enjoyed the crab rangoon and fried potstickers as appetizers. They were pretty typical and well executed. We also all got the same main dish but with variations in the type of noodle. Two of us got the mid round and one of us got the mid flat. I enjoyed the thickness of the round noodle but also enjoyed the lightness of the flat noodle. I don't think you can go wrong. Our dish had beef, chicken, shrimp, broccoli, onion, carrot...it all tasted fresh. The table had soy sauce, chili oil, and a soup base to add on flavor. We all enjoyed the chili oil a lot! I have been to this place multiple times since my initial review. Probably not authentic. But I really don't care. It's so good. The appetizers are brought to your table by a robot! My kiddo loves that. We (most recently) went on a Thursday night and it was full save 1 table. We split the honey sesame chicken, egg roll, and Magic Chicken with extra classic sized noodles. Egg rolls usually aren't something worth mentioning. However, I think theirs are exceptional. The Magic Chicken is really good on it's own. However, I added some of the red pepper oil (free condiment available at every table) and that transformed it into amazing. I live about 45 minutes away.
