service was HORRIBLE!! then they get mad bc you spending your hard working earned money and want the right service. he didn't do HALF the steps for the pedicure. I immediately changed to the bare minimum pedi. my toe nails are cut way too short.. where he didn't file them they're choppy and the polish is clumpy. he told me that was the best he could do. for my money this is what I get. I don't know why it says this salon is closed. It's definitely not. I go here all the time. Kandy and Ethan are so talented and do such a wonderful job! Everyone is always super friendly and their prices are great. People always ask where I get my nails done and I recommend everyone go there. They're awesome! I've got my nails done for over 10 years at all kinds of different places, and they are by FAR my absolute favorite. They also have wine that goes with their pedicures... it's so nice. read more

Meh... First time I went they did a great job. My mother in-law didn't care for hers. They didn't get close to the cuticle. This time... Well I had a gift card from my birthday and was in need of girl time. Great staff, but.... My pedi. Meh def didn't clean up the dead skin or even get the yucky ish under my nails. (dirt, dead skin) They were uneven. I came home and had to redo them. I didn't get color because it's winter and I want them to breath... Again...didn't clean up my dead skin on my fingers. My paint job is a bit of a mess. If something cost $40. Then I want and deserve my $40 worth of service. I know they are understaffed and are busy. Then...book your appts out further and don't take walk ins till you hire more people to pick up the slack. Giving 1 person poor service will not get the next person done faster... Honestly not worth the drive for me since I live in west knox. Hope you guys get it together. Mega disappointed, but always thanks for being super nice! read more

Receptionist is rude and doesn't listen to requests. In the past when I patronized this establishment the person at the front was scary. She never smiles and was always gossiping loudly with other patrons every time I was there. The last time I made an appointment I asked the receptionist for a female technician-the males generally massage my legs too hard. The request was totally ignored. The technicians are adequate but not very clean. I think their sanitation practices have been addressed but no really sure... I think I got toe fungus from this place. Me and mom came in for a mani pedi for the both of us which isn't cheap! We made appointments and they got us right in. However the water for our pedi's was cold and my toe nails were Slaughtered! My manicurethe guy barley even push my cuticles back. They did knock 20$ off the tab but it's not something we go and do together often and to still be disappointed! And I give it one star only for the massage chairs. 1. Woman at front counter is awfully UNFRIENDLY! She needs another job because it's very obvious she hates this one. 2. Went to get a pedicure and was pressured to get the most expensive one. 3. Everything from the water, to the hot lotion (where I was NOT warned that it would be hot, and the towels were WAY too hot! The girl going my toes just laughed it off. 4. She was extremely rough and painful when doing my pedicure. 5. I had already clipped my toenails straight as I prefer to clip them myself. She arrogantly said I had an ingrown toenail (which I don't have) and then proceeded to cut a corner off of my toenail! 6. This place is terrible and getting more run down each of the 4 times I've been there. And only once was I satisfied. I would NEVER recommend this place. Go just about anywhere else. read more

This makes me really, really sad. I have been a loyal Magic Salon customer since I moved to Knoxville. They were reasonably priced, had a great staff, and did a fantastic job. I have brought in lots of business to them with my rave reviews. They know me by face and by name. Somewhere along the way recently the wheels seem to have fallen off of the bus here. The staff seems to have performed a mass exitus. Not a single one of the nail techs from the good ole days are left. They are all new people that don't seems to really like their jobs. The only face that I do recogonize is the lady that runs the front counter. She's never really been friendly, but it's just something you get over. But these days it's hard to do that. She always seems stressed and annoyed. Now, the services that are provided leave a lot to be desired. I have given them 3 chances and they have failed miserably each time. The first 2 of 3 visits recently, I asked for a gel manicure and pedicure. Sadly the best part of the manicure/pedicure was the massage chair. I'll just got to Brookstone in the mall next time and enjoy the chair for free. The gel polish was pretty badly chipped within the first week. Unacceptable. This crap is expensive and supposed to last. This last visit I decided to save some money and just get a polish change on my toes and fingers with regular polish. $28 later (yes, $28), the polish lasted less than 24 hours. 48 hours later every single one of my nails is chipped and looks terrible. When I mentioned my issues with chipping to the counter lady after my 2 failed attempts at gel, she said, "yeah, sometimes the products get old and they don't last." Wow. So you know you are selling old, crappy polish and don't seem to care. Cool. So in other news: I'm in search of a new nail salon in Knoxville. read more

The Magic Salon is all around magical! I stopped in randomly on a rainy Saturday after hearing great reviews from fellow yelpers. I was pleased to see great prices with a wide color selection, and positively exceptional service!! (I was able to walk right in but I would recommend an appointment to minimize potential wait time, especially on a weekend). Ashley gave me a pedicure and I was highly impressed. She was incredibly sweet and unbelievably thorough! Definitely ask for Ashley. A huge plus for me is that they seemed to have most of the nail colors available for sale along with a variety of products at again, very reasonable prices. Hello new nail salon! First of all, I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this place is on the inside. The exterior logo is dated and it's located right beside Whikey Bend in a strip mall. But once inside, the decor is nice and they have a bunch of color organized (into it) polishes to choose from. For $35 (plus tip) I received a great pedicure and feet that are no longer like snakeskin. The pedicure I chose included a sugar scrub and hot towel wrap. The massage was a snooze fest (not in a so-relaxed-I-could-fall-asleep way) from my guy but all in all, my feet and toes look great and I like the price point and the cleanliness of this salon. Also super close to me so that is another plus! Some things to note: 1) appointments ARE necessary. I asked for a manicure and the receptionist said they could only squeeze one in if someone cancelled or if we finished early. Good for them, wahhh for me. 2) they do NOT serve wine. Booooo! That is virtually the only reason I deducted a star. I didn't realize nail salons still exist in 2016 that don't offer wine. 3) show up early or on time. If you're late, you lose your appointment. They seemed to be really adamant about this when my girlfriend was not there with me 10 mins before our appointment time. read more

Lisa was wonderful but a young guy employee, lounging on the pedi chair near me, was watching some video on his phone as I asked him turn it down ( as well as lisa did) and he rolled his eyes and left it at the volume it was at. I asked again if he would turn it down and he snipped and said he did and continued to watch. I came today, on my birthday, to have a little relaxation and also paying for a service and thought it was extremely rude of the employee that he would not listen to Lisa nor myself. I just wanted some relaxation instead of listening to some video, in a language I cannot understand. And the complete rudeness this young man presented. I have been coming here for 14 years and always enjoyed myself but will no longer come and will not recommend to friends or family. Please do not let this comment take away from how sweet Lisa was and the great job she did. It is purely at the employee who was being rude and inconsiderate to costumers. Lisa even offered me headphones. In addition to the review I just gave, the young gentleman keeps walking by recording as well. This is uncalled for and very unprofessional. As a walk-in, I was instantly greeted and brought back to a massage chair and foot bath. My nail technician was extremely detail-oriented and precise. Throughout the mani-pedi, he was professionally polite but not overly talkative. He gave a nice massage and allowed me to relax. (He also attacked my thick callouses with a vengeance!) The finished product was exactly as desired -- clean-lined cuticles, softer skin, and smooth, blemish-free polish. Grateful for zero up-selling/pressure to buy additional services, I was also pleased with the price -- the total cost before tip: $40. read more

I went in for a gel manicure because I've been dying to have my nails done. I'd seen some good reviews so thought I'd give it a try. I didn't make an appointment, so I did have a wait (20-25 minutes, not a problem) before one of the nail artists saw me. Despite the fact that it was written on my card, she only did gel polish application rather than a manicure, which wasn't a big deal to me. However, the time it took for the polish was as long as a full manicure should have taken. She kept having to skip back and forth between me and another customer after she had already started my process. After it was said and done, I wasn't 100% pleased. I love the color, but the edges on a few fingers were messy and I had to take small bits of polish off myself after I got home, even after she had checked them a couple of times before I left. What is this hidden gem in the middle of a scary strip!?! So the outside is completely deceiving and you've probably seen it a million times and thought nothing of it. The outside has not been updated from 1980 but the inside is actually really nice and modern. Who knew there was a great option for nails downtown after ten years?! Apparently me. They have so many colors and a great variety. A MUST is making an appointment (sorry no last minuters) and showing up early! I was able to get in and out and can't wait to go back! Also noted by previous yelpers, there is no option for wine BUT you can bring in your own if you want! Wish I would of known about this place earlier and not waste so many trips out West! read more

Wonderful pedicure and the girl that did it was amazing. Front desk lady was rude on the phone, when I came in, and when I left. It's like dementors sucked all the joy out of her life and she's now a rock with no personality. I miss the first receptionist they had, friendly, helpful and made you feel welcomed. The pedicure was a 5, but the receptionist was a 2, so I had to average it out. My advice-you can attract more flies with honey, so get a new receptionist and I bet sales would pick up. read more

Terrible customer service. If you are five minutes late their computer kicks you. However, I have had appointments several times that I had to WAIT 5 minutes past my appointment time. Even had an appointment and the manicurist took someone at my time so they offered to have a different person do my pedicure, which I reluctantly did. They have a wonderful selection of polish colors, however I have stopped going there because even when I would make an appt I would still wait for 45 mins and sometimes longer then that. I also felt like they were not very personable. The prices seem to be a little more then most salons especially after they charge extra for every little thing.
