Gregory, our onsite lead, was responsive, well organized, and his four-person crew worked very hard. My advice to anyone moving is to be realistic about how much stuff you have. I got three quotes. One company estimated one-and-a-half 27-foot trucks, while Royal and another company estimated one 27-foot truck. My move-out apartment was 895 sq ft with a large patio. Before moving day, I made two 10-foot Home Depot truck trips myself with the delicate and bulky items: my electric bike, Peloton, and other things that don't stack well. Royal filled a 27-foot truck with everything else, efficiently using all the available space. We did go a little over the estimate because of rush-hour traffic. The only part I didn't enjoy was the payment app prompting for a tip at checkout. After a long moving day, that was one unnecessary stress point because I never know what's considered an appropriate tip for professional movers. Fortunately, I had already planned ahead with cash tips and cold Gatorades for the crew throughout the day. I highly recommend Royal Movers. They made a difficult move much easier. I also gained a whole new respect for my son, his friend, and my old girlfriend, who helped me move the last time. The two (2) guys who came to our place were not only early but they were very efficient and nice. The only hiccup was they ran their truck into the hedges in our new place, damaging the property and they almost hit one of the buildings. Apparently, they did not have a reverse mechanism on their truck as the security cameras caught them having to push their van in order to get out. Our property manager has attempted to contact them to no avail but they will keep trying because unfortunately for them, they will have to pay a significant amount of money to repair the damage they caused. It's all on video if they dispute the accusations. This is the only reason we gave them three (3) stars. Otherwise, if the accident hadn't happened, we would have given them five (5) stars. read more

They provided extra boxes and other items that I didn't think I needed, saving a ton of time in a hurry. I used a lot of resources, and everything was completed swiftly and effectively despite the price being slightly higher than planned. The additional cost is totally justified! I felt incredibly blessed by the encounter. When I experienced a nightmare experience four years ago, it was like night and day. Alex and Anselmo were so amazing today honestly my heroes. I had the ikea Brimnes bed with drawers which honestly had made me cry in past moves because I find the assembly and parts really heavy and they had it disassembled/reassembled in less than 30 minutes and also managed to carry a heavy desk up so many stairs and a vintage heavy wooden table set. They booked me for exactly when I needed, even with short notice. Alan and Akzhol showed up right on time with a great attitude and got straight to work. They brought their own tools, helped disassemble furniture, and even used shrink wrap to protect my bed frame and couches. I appreciated how calm, patient, and respectful they were throughout the process. Their communication was excellent, and I felt like I could trust them with my belongings. By the time the last item was loaded, I was beyond impressed. They worked so hard and made a stressful situation feel manageable. The reason I am giving them five now is because I just used a different local moving company to pack my apartment and load a truck I rented, and I was highly dissatisfied with the service. I won't name this business, but the work did not reflect the cost and I wouldn't recommend that business to anyone. Comparing it to my experience with Stear, I knew I had to sit down and write the review. In July of 2021 I hired two workers to pack my 1 bedroom apartment, load their own truck, unload the truck at my new apartment, AND they drove the truck over to the nearby Goodwill so I could drop off four pieces of large furniture that I was donating for no extra charge. It took a total of 6 hours (my new apartment was only a few streets from my old one), and cost $800 pre-tip. One of the guys definitely worked his ass off the entire time, but I saw the other guy on his phone many times and slowly packing items. My roommate said she saw him chilling downstairs over to the side, and when he saw her he pretended to be working. That was the reason I was going to knock them down a star. But again, comparing the amount of work they got done in the time they did, and at the price they did it, to that of the company I just used, I am locking in at five stars. On top of that, all items were wrapped well enough that nothing was broken in the move, nor was I worried about it. They also knew obvious things like "wrap glass in wrapping paper before packing" and "don't pack living plants in boxes". That is in stark contrast to my recent experience. Here's a breakdown so you can get an idea of the competition: Stear (2021): -hired to pack 1 bedroom apartment and move items to new apartment (0.3 miles away) -I had more items in this move -they drove to a second location so I could drop off some furniture to be donated -all boxes and wrapping materials included in rate -2 men -I hardly did any work -$800 total -6 hours total Company #2 (2022): -hired to pack 1 bedroom apartment and load truck I rented -I didn't have items to donate and I had less items in this move -my dad and I were helping by packing and organizing the entire time -charged per box, wrapping materials "included" but they didn't have wrapping paper for fragile items (they used mine from my last move) -3 men (plus my dad and me) -they only had to pack and load a truck, didn't have to drive it anywhere -$700 total (was going to give me a "discount" at $760, I was like no) -4 hours 50 minutes total
