Definitely one of my new favorite nail salons in Chicago! No matter who I get assigned to they always do a great job, I'm a dip mani kind of girl and they last 3-4 weeks easy. They also are so nice to give a gift for first-time customer, and it's such a rare thing to find! If you have a specific design you are looking to achieve from an inspo pic.. my pro tip is go straight to the man that works in there, and he can find ANY and EVERY color match. He is so good! I walk straight to him with my photo each time. I will say my only complaint... is that they have nothing playing on the TV's. Just the same tropical photo progression over and over. To have something playing on the TV's, even if it's on mute with closed captioning and their music in the background- would make SUCH a difference. When you're there an hour+ every couple of weeks.. it gets a little mind numbing haha. But even with the lack of entertainment, they just do a great job. Will continue to keep coming back! read more

Kindly accepted me as a walk-in for no chip, and I asked for pink with dark pink stripes. My nail artist kept coughing and took a cough drop, but had no mask on the entire time. She and her colleague were both unable to replicate the stripes from my inspo photo, so I decided to leave with just the base color. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give them a try. Got there w/ an appointment and was taken care of as soon as I got in. I went for a no chip and was sat at station one. She started right away by clipping my nails. She didn't talk much, which I prefer, but she didn't ask what shape I wanted when she started filing my nail and left them boxy. I assume, because I'm a guy they think I won't care but I asked her to make them round. She seemed annoyed but rounded them out anyway. They ended up pretty good. The "hand massage" that came at the end was meh... and the lotion was basic. It felt greasy and had no soothing sent to it. I only paid 40 bucks, not including tip. Not bad for the price and my nails haven't chipped in 6 days. Great place for good speedy work. Just don't expect relaxed spa like service and you'll be good! Not only are all of the employees amazing at their job, they strive to make sure you get the outcome you want. Every other nail salon I've tried with dip have left me with chunky and unnatural looking nails, I LOVE dip at Magnifique (and they have sooo many colors!) They were able to get me an appt the day before but it was downhill from there. As my first time there, no one showed me where the colors were then were frustrated with me for asking. I was told that a no chip manicure would be $43 so I brought enough cash for that and a tip. It somehow came out to be $56 with no explanation and went I went to get cash from the ATM, the machine was broken. I got chrome and specifically asked if it would cost more and the technician said no. My only concern is that they don't have an official price sheet. They recently started charging for shaping acrylic nails which they did not before and I also wasn't informed until the end. The check in process seemed to be different for each customer - sometimes they asked people to wash their hands when they enter; my party of three were not asked to wash hands or sanitize, and were just told to choose a color. We had called ahead for three mani/pedis and we arrived a little ahead of our appointment time, so we did have a short wait. We were finally seated at our pedicure chairs, but only two technicians were available so my friend had to wait a while. The reason I am giving three stars is because I had requested a specific "special" nail with a holographic chrome effect, and the process did not go smoothly. My technician had to do it three times before getting it right. Also, the gel manicure barely lasted a week, and the chrome effect did not fade well at all. read more

Run away. I did. Nine minutes in, zero degree weather, down the streets in flip flops. I had to make them stop because they were drilling into my nails and skin and burning each finger. I feared damage, infection, bleeds. It hurt like hell and I've never experienced that before. The tech was very nice and sweet working on my nails, they were very safe regarding covid, and they were able to fit me in for a same day appointment and were ready for me as soon as I arrived. This is my go-to place in the city for pedicures. The techs at Magnifique really take their time taking care of me, especially in the summertime when I need a little extra love due to wearing sandals all the time. They also have a punch card where your 10th punch gets you a free pedi that keeps me coming back as well. This place has no understanding of what customer service is. If you need go back to fix something, do not expect to be welcomed. I usually go with this one girl who does a great job and I become her regular customer and never changed technician. Today I went, my girl was not there. Called in advance in the AM and told them I need fix the white tips of my French tip because I am going away for my birthday trip so really want my nails look nice. Someone picked up the phone and told me I can just walk in because they are very busy. I requested to get off work early and got into the salon around 5:15. They said I need wait for 5-10 mins. No problem. First of all, I sensed this attitude of they are not willing to fix my nails because it's not a full service or something. One person filed off the bad nails I have, totally 4, and then I got signed my up with this guy. PS. I read other reviews, he seems to be really rude to other people too. He started to file my nail but didn't match the shape of my other nails. Just didn't want to put the effort to begin with and that attitude on his face. I told him to fixed the shape. And then he started to put color on. He tried to draw the white tips without put a based coat on my nails-the clear pinkish base color to go with French. I stopped him and said he need put a base coat and his excuse is he doesn't know which one I used exactly and he does not want to the color to not match my other nails. Excuse me, but you think the color will match without a base coat? I was really frustrated about this whole process and on top of that I am doing my nails for my birthday. And of course the drawing of the French tips looks terrible. I wish I remained the original color, even the tips were slightly chipped but at least the shape looks nice. I attached a picture, the index finger is the one he fixed. LMAO! I can do a better job than that. I was going to add diamonds but I was like, you know what? Forget about it. I live down the street and go to this place regularly but I am not going back. Their whole vibe and level of customer service is just terrible. I don't want to go to a place that make me feel uncomfortable although I can go for the same girl who is the only one does a great job. This place has very mixed reviews, it is a hit and miss. But for sure, DO not have high expectation to their customer service because there is none. They seems busy so they don't really give a f**k about it but I think it is still important for people who is going there to know what to expect. Hands down best consistency in quality Manicure and pedicure. I've seen nearly everyone who works here and they've all done amazing work. I prefer Lynn because we've gotten close over the years. After 15 years of getting pedicures this has been the only place that a few hours after leaving, my toes became swollen and infected. The first time I thought it was a fluke because the place is generally clean, but after the second time I know it's because they don't sterilize their tools. This nail salon went above and beyond for me this evening after a disastrous attempt to have a party at Elite Nail Salon. I was supposed to have 15 girls at elite nail salon for a mani/pedi get together, but had to find another option at the last minute when they refused to close down the store (like promised weeks beforehand) and was infested with bugs. Magnifique stayed open an extra hour to accommodate my party and they could not have been nicer. They also did a great job and I was surprised by the cheap prices. It's a really cute place that's much cleaner than most of the nail salons I've been to recently. I'll definitely be coming here on a bi-weekly basis to get my nails done. Whereas at other places I've had to wait 15+ minutes past an appointment time. There are many color choices from Essie and OPI and others.
