My daughter and granddaughter and I have been going to this restaurant for years and for at least the last two years we'vebeen going every Friday night so we are very established customers and have loved this place and the quick service they gave us because they know our order and the young man that's always there is wonderful... The thin one... I think they have changed owners because I know years ago the lady that owned it and I always chatted about how much of my family always goes there also. But two boys seem to be running it now and not sure who the owner really is but too older men come out often and go to the lottery room with a drink in their hand and then cash their lottery tickets often as we sit there and eat. Also, there is a lot of yelling in the kitchen. Within the last few months of us going in every Friday night, the young thin boy usually takes our order as soon as we enter our tea is on the table, but on one occasion my granddaughter's chow mein had so much salt in it. You could see it and we tasted it and you could actually see the spoonful on the side of it and we showed him and he told the other chubbier boy waiter about it and he didn't care and of course they didn't do a thing about it or didn't believe us for some reason. On another occasion are bbqed pork was so old. We couldn't even eat it and as of lately, their chow mein has tasted different so we mentioned it to the chubby waiter boy we had the other night and he does a shrug of his shoulders and began explaining that they have three different cooks and they all cook the way they cook and I asked him if they follow the same recipe and he says no they just all make chow mein their own way and so I never know when the real cook with the real chow mein is gonna cook because now there's other cooks that make it taste different and we don't like it... this chubby waiter boy is the rudest boy and I actually think he's sabotaging our food now because of us complaining about it... and all the years that we've been going there we've never had a problem until this chubby little waiter started working there and he's awful and bad attitude and doesn't realize how much money we spend there going every Friday night with always a great tip... so we are done with them and on to find another Chinese food and I don't know if anyone else knows the reason why the chow mein taste different and the sweet-and-sour chicken and the old barbecued pork but there seems to be now just rotten food and rotten service for us. We went on Christmas eve. As expected, the place was packed with diners, people picking up take-out and Door Dashers. The service was good and they managed the crowd well. The food was very tasty and the portions quite large. We had plenty of leftovers for breakfast the next morning. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years and have never been disappointed with their food. The portions are large so bring a healthy appetite! I especially enjoy the pork lomein as well as the BBQ pork lunch special. Ming has a great smile and we have never had to ask for extra napkins, more water etc. I have never found the restrooms to be dirty nor the restaurant itself. We ordered twice cooked pork although the dish contained sliced roast pork sautéed with veggies it was not at all anything like what real twice cooked pork as a dish is in reality. I go here about once a month. Maybe less depending on how busy life gets. I've been going here for 3 years and its normal greasy delicious chinese food. If you can stomach it, then I would recommend this place. Prices are average and they give you plenty of food. Each meal probably feeds two. Their prices have been going up though. We did take out Christmas Eve having just returned from travel, and with Xmas eve falling in a Monday, Kuang's was closed. Having lived in the Woodstock area for 7 years and never tried Wong's, we thought we would give it a try. In 3 words: Soggy, disappointing and gross. Half-assed fried rice-- ours had a few flakes of egg, (some) pork belly, and was predominantly unblemished (or seasoned) white rice with a splash of soy evident in some areas. Szechuan beef was 50% onions, 15% celery, some water chestnuts & hot chilis, about 35% slimy beef. Heavily breaded orange chicken was nasty, with the consistency of wet toast. Portions were quite large but this did not make up for the lack of quality. The only redeeming fish was the green beans with black bean sauce. They were good. The service was on par with the food: ordered at 6:38, was told half an hour, showed up 5 minutes early and waited 40 minutes for the order. So 35 minutes later than promised. I spent my first 5 minutes in the place listening to the waitress yell at whoever was cooking in the back. When she came out, I ordered a lunch combo with chicken sub-gum chow mein, pork egg fu yung, and an egg roll. While it looked good when it came out, the whole meal sucked. Don't eat here. I ordered the number 6 combo with pork fried rice, shrimp and egg foo young along with an order of general tso chicken. The egg foo young was so tough to bite into it was inedible. The gravy was yellow and didn't taste that great either. The general tso chicken tasted like day old rotisserie chicken that had been breaded to make chicken strips and tossed in what they considered general tso sauce. It was hard and dry, inedible. I threw both the egg foo young and chicken away because no one wanted it. The pork fried rice was sticky like it was over cooked. The only kind of good thing was the shrimp, and that's because I was starving. Will not be here again read more

As I look at my fellow Yeeps comments about Wong's Garden I find myself a little stunned by the negativity of this place. I have been coming here for nearly 13 years, off and on, and I am always pleasantly surprised by the consistency of the food and the attentive service. Maybe it is it's proximity to Mickey Finn's Brewpub which should be the poster child for bad customer service that makes Wong's shine in my eyes? I have to say that I have only been here for lunch and that their lunch specials are an incredible deal. Entree, huge egg roll, pork fried rice, two big won tons and soup for about $6.50 depending on what you order. The hot & sour soup is always spot on perfect, not too peppery. I have had good luck with the General Tsao's Chicken and Sesame Beef, which is what The Wife and I ordered for lunch today. We another glorious opportunity to meet for lunch while the Tax Deduction was at daycare. We celebrated the moments of our lives with Oolong Tea. Yes, a little heavy on the cornstarch at times, but the sauce is always quite delectable. The service has always been pretty good, they keep the water glass full and refill the tea pot when asked, the food comes out quickly and they always thank me for my visit and seem truly happy I stopped by. Chinese food is so many things to so many people it is hard to get people to agree on one place. Is this my favorite Chinese place in town?
