Came here with my son-in-law after the egg bowl. We were able to be seated immediately in the back area booths near the beer wall. I decided to try the Red Beans and Rice (red beans marinated for 24 hours, simmered with sausage, ribeye, and vegetables, and served over rice). While the ribeye added to the traditional dish, I was not a fan of the overall end result. It actually seemed like the whole dish had been cooked for 24 hours until there was almost no moisture left. The rice part was fine. My son-in-law decided to try the fried catfish I had been considering. While cooked well and had good flavor, the batter was not the expected cornmeal style normally associated with fried catfish. They were also out of the particular beer he had been wanting to try. After multiple attempts to pick one from the menu, the server said it might be easier to show you what we do have on tap. Service on this visit also left a lot to be desired. From the delay taking the order, having to flag a server down for drink refills and even to get the check. It was not busy enough to cause the service we received. We had been before with my daughter and wife and had a much better experience. So I am not sure if things have gone downhill or just an anomaly. The burger I had on the previous visit was very good and the Rosey Chips (house made potato chips) were pretty good too. My daughter is a big fan of their fried pickles appetizer. Will. Give them another shot, yes but there are plenty of other options we will likely go to first. read more

I have never left a review before, but this service was the worst I have ever had. Took 45 minutes of sitting at a table for someone to come by, and took another 35 minutes to get our drinks after placing the order. Took over two hours to get our food that we ordered as soon as we put our drinks in. Manager came by to ask how our service was and we were honest about how awful it was, to which she did nothing. Food/drinks weren't even good. 3 other tables were occupied when we got there, all others were empty. Do not come here. read more

Food is always wrong or bad. Don't even try to get the Mac and cheese, got it at least once a month for over a year cause it was really good once but it was never good again. It was curdled and sour. The restaurant is also dirty and really needs an upgrade, you can tell it's an old place and not in a cute way. It's a shame that the owners are so awful to the employees. I have overhead and had several employees talk about a Lisa and an Ashley and how awful they are. Specifically that Ashley is a bully and Lisa is just crazy. This place doesn't deserve one star. Food was not fit to feed to a pig! What wasn't burnt was so salty you couldn't eat it. Took them three tries to get one of the orders right and then it was burnt. The fish platter is not a platter it was one piece of fish with dry white rice. The drinks were watered down and took forever to get. Worst experience I have ever had..thirty minutes after ordering raw oysters we were told there were none....20 more minutes before we could place our order. Forty more minutes and we still did not have our food. We asked for the owner to come over and speak with us because he had spoken to us when we entered the restaurant. We wanted to tell him what was going on with us and how long we had been waiting. He blamed the delay on the ordering gator poor boy because he had to cook 300 pounds of chicken wings that night. If some menu items are going to be delayed for the wings they should tell us in advance. He came back and said our food would be out soon and told us that it was on the house since we hade berated him for five minutes. We chose to leave at this time. We went to Rosey Baby for a late lunch and some drinks before the Kentucky game. No matter what I thought about my dining experience here, it was more then 10 better than the product State put on the field that night. The restaurant was pretty slow, so it was a surprise why it took more than 5 minutes for someone to take our drink orders and 10 minutes from then to get our drinks. They have a large selection of beers on tap at reasonable prices, so they have that going for them. After a while, our server took our order, and we had another drink while waiting for our food. There are TV's at each table so we could watch football while waiting...and we were able to watch a lot of football. A good hour after arriving, our food finally got to our table. My wife and daughter got the Chicken Platter with gumbo instead of Mac and cheese. It was basically a chicken tender plate. The chicken was a little over cooked, but they said it tasted fine. My daughter's boyfriend got the Cajun Quesadilla, he said it was fine. I got the Rosey Burger, and I was not overly enthusiastic about. One corner of the burger (it had a square patty) was missing, and I think it was a mostly forgettable burger. All the dishes came "Rosy Fries" which are basically fried potatoes cut like potato chips. Mine were soggy and cold. On the bright side, the fried pickles were good. I liked the atmosphere of the place, and I see how it would appeal to college students. However, I don't know if I'd go here to eat again. I would come here for a few beers before the game, and if State keeps playing the way they did last night, I'd need to come early to prepare and come after the game to forget. read more

I have been coming here for the last 10 years. At first it was ok. A good place to come get some crawfish when I didn't feel like cooking my own. The shrimp were good to. We started having bad experiences with wait times and the quality of the food. Last time I went was almost 2 years ago and after I waited for 2 hours and got cold crawfish that had a terrible taste and my wife's shrimp had a strange taste I swore I wouldn't go back. I guess I forgot how bad it was and decided to try it again this weekend. Same story. The wait was ridiculously long. The shrimp my wife got were cold and not tasty at all. My crawfish were Lukewarm with absolutely 0 flavor. None whatsoever. The potatoes and corn had no seasoning on them. I guess they are just boiling everything in plain water now. The only good thing we had was the onion flower. We will never be back read more

They were HORRIBLE. they had a funny smell like they were spoiled, dry, rubbery and i'm almost positive they WERE old mixed in with some(not many) new ones. Glad I came back for a 2nd chance. 1st visit wasn't too great. ( Fried Shrimp and Rosey Fries were a bit too crisp. $3 Martini night enticed me to return.
