The is definitely a Family style spot with a playground next to it!! The food is decent but pricey for lobster. The 1.5 lbs lobster was $60. The kids meals were the typical fair but it is definitely a kid friendly restaurant. The kids run wild between their seats at the restaurant and the playground. If you are a parent, this is the place for you! There is outdoor seating so enjoy a glass of wine while you watch your kiddos from afar. There aren't cars and just the occasional golf cart. The police station is next door so it is safe!

My husband and I came to Ocean Beach on a Sunday afternoon. We haven't been to OB in probably about 10 years so we wanted to adventure a little bit. We walked down near Maguires and we saw that they had a good crowd of people so we decided to go here for lunch. Their vibe is super casual, beachy and summery which we liked. We grabbed a seat at the bar and we were greeted by our bartender. It seemed a lot of the tables over looking the water were taken and bar was about half full. Our bartender certainly did seem understaffed, and running around. It took a while to get our first round of drinks, but they were good. As they should at $18 a piece lol. For appetizers, we asked to start with a Caesar salad, tuna tartare and clams casino, Unfortunately our appetizers took probably about 45 minutes to come out. Our bartender understood the frustration. The clams were horrendous though, we spit them out. Tuna and salad were fine. Our meals- I had ordered a burger well done and it came came out still bleeding so they had to send it back. We weren't in a rush so we didn't mind hanging out, but it is unfortunate that the food kept getting messed up. All in all, the bartender tried to make it right and we are understanding that he's not the one cooking the food. But we will not be back for their food.

Maguire's offers a truly remarkable dining experience right on the water with beautiful views of the ocean that creates a stunning backdrop to your casual lunch or romantic dinner. The service was amazing very friendly and attentive, they make you feel welcomed as soon as you arrive. The food is as amazing everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The Tuna Tartare was beautifully plated and delicious, the wonton chips added the perfect crunch. Wings were phenomenal too, crispy and delicious. The salad was delicious topped with freshly grilled salmon, & the Quinoa Bowl with Perfectly medium rare Prime sirloin tips was very flavorful and filling. Even the house made Old Bay potato Chips were fantastic very crispy and addicting. I would Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. A wonderful spot for great food, good vibes, and stunning views.

Lovely place with a view Popular place Happy hour 4-7p Food is well presented Flavor could be better, meaning a bit more seasoning Drinks could be better.. stronger Staff is friendly and accommodating Service feels rushed at times Prices are reasonable The truffle fries were missing something.. didn't seem fresh The tuna and shishito's need more flavor

Lobsterpalooza Thursdays at this Ocean Beach staple doesn't disappoint. The prime rib and lobster were oh so good! Our waitress Lauren was on point with the service!

    Supposed to be prime rib

Service was awful. Waited 1 1/2 hours from the time we ordered for our "food" to come. Never got our salads. Has an 8 yr old and twin 6 yr old who had to wait an hour for their grilled cheeses and hot dogs. When the adult meals showed up it was cold and basically a pile of fat. Totally inedible.the waiter also dropped 2 of our meals on the floor and told us they would make us abother.... after already waiting over an hour. Save yourself the trouble. Many better restaurants on the island!

We Recently had a very enjoyable holiday weekend meal at McGuires. We had some great apps including tuna tartar and steamed clams. We also had some super premium local oysters and top necks (clams) on the 1/2 shell. The oysters were exceptional and what you would expect from the finest seafood restaurants or high end oyster bars. Bravo! For mains we had shrimp over Tai rice served in a 1/2 pineapple. Quite good and a large portion. We also had sushi quality blackened yellowfin tuna over jasmine rice. Very good! The service was also quite good considering we were walk-ins on one of the busiest days of the year. They also have decent bar crowd. The waterfront outdoor tables have an beautiful view of the Great South Bay. Bravo Team McGuires, well done! We will return and highly recommend.

We were staying at a Hotel in Ocean Bay Park, and we decided to take a leisure walk to Ocean Beach to dine. While in Ocean Beach, we ask a local Police Officer where we should dine, and the gentlemen recommenced Maguires. Maguire's is on the west edge of town on the bay side which provides bike racks and boat docking. We chose a outdoor patio table along the bayside so we could enjoy the sunsetting. After enjoying drinks, we ordered appetizers along with our entrée's. The fried calamari were excellent, the best I have had in a long time. Although I tempted to order one of their popular dishes; seared ahi tuna, the "drunken" pork chops, or the Alaskan king crab. I chose the Cod fish and what an excellent choice I made. After dinner, we chose to relax at their traditional wood bar to relax and enjoy the views. Maguires is a cozy comfortable laid-back restaurant which is worth the visit, and I certainly plan to return next time on the Island.

I had a caesar salad with lobster which was so delicious. The lobster was already shelled out so no need to worry about cracking lobster! Tasted so fresh and hit the spot. My husband got a burger and fries and no complaints there. Me and my daughter tried the fries and they were so good. My daughter inhaled her fried calamari either the cocktail sauce. Nice presentation too. I got an Arnold palmer and it was pinkish due to the pink lemonade. I am not a fan of their pink lemonade and feel regular lemonade would taste fresher and better. The service here was so on point again. Please give your Tinker Bell waitress a raise she was so great with us! I don't know her name but she was adorable and very accommodating to our table. Explained what they were out of and knew the dish well when I asked if the eggplant with the penne alla vodka was breaded. It was breaded by the way and eas delicious. It was nicely cut thin and came with this sourdough bread that was toasted and spiced so good. Not sure what the spice was but it was a warm toasty flavor. I noticed the waitress was doing a lot of work the restaurant was pretty full and she was the only waitress we saw there. Excellent job she does keeping up. If I could have left her a bigger tip I would have. I think the restaurant needs at least another waiter or waitress because of how crowded it can get. I would dine here again if I am on the island again. It's great for families and get togethers!

What should have been a 5-minute process took two phone calls and far too much patience. If you're going to have staff answering the phone, put them somewhere they can actually hear the customer. I spoke with two girls (sounded like teenagers) who had me repeat myself at least 7 times for every item I ordered. One even told the other, "I can't hear anything -- you do it." When I suggested they move somewhere quieter, the response was, "This is the quietest spot." Fine. I ordered 3 cold lobster rolls and 2 hot lobster rolls. She informed me they don't sell cold lobster rolls -- despite the fact they're clearly listed on their website. Fine again. When I finally finished the order and asked how long it would take, she just hung up on me. I called back, she recognized my wife's name, and casually told me it would be 15 minutes for 5 lobster rolls, a burger, and calamari. Odd, but fine. When we arrived, they informed us there was no calamari. We showed them the website with both hot and cold lobster rolls. The response? "Oh, I have no clue." The manager came over, and when we asked if the menu was changing, he said, "I hope so!" Not exactly reassuring. We got home (two toddlers and a baby in tow, so eating there wasn't an option) and opened the food -- and that's when it went from bad to insulting. Every roll was upside down with what little lobster there was spilling out. The bread wasn't even split open properly. We ended up scooping scraps of lobster with our fingers into the bread. For almost $200, this was an absolute embarrassment. I rarely write reviews, but this was so bad I hope a manager contacts us to make it right. In the meantime, do yourself a favor and order from literally anywhere else.
