    Burnt to a crisp
    Elena Y.

Saturday afternoon on Sept 21, one day before the official end of summer. 11:55am there was no one there other than one customer sitting at the bar. My son and i were directed to the outside window to place a food order. The young man there asked what we wanted to get and I asked if they had a menu. After some internal discussions behind the window he finally dragged out a menu board. We ordered a chicken sandwich, a chicken wrap and onion rings. Then we waited. While we were waiting a woman came to order a sandwich. Then after some more waiting and a couple of guys came to order food and drinks. I was getting antsy. No food was coming out of that window. The solo woman eventually got her sandwich even tho she ordered after us. More than 30 min later we got our food. Everything was burnt to a crisp, but was not given to us til room temp. There were only 5 onion rings in that $7 order so it came out to $1.40 for each burnt, cold ring. There were no other options at Atlantique, but I do not recommend for food.

Literally a shack, you can get basic simple side items or burger-type sandwiches. They did have a veggie burger option which I appreciated, along with usual burger, hot dog and fish choices. Fries, onion rings, etc round it out. There are also sweet treats like popsicles and ice cream, and there's a bar inside. The band on a Saturday evening was very good, and there was a large crowd hanging around drinking and enjoying the tunes. The Shack is literally right in between the bay and ocean, making it a perfect summer spot.

Between the…read morefood, service, and atmosphere, it was easily one of the highlights of our time on Fire Island and definitely a place we'll be returning to. We started with the mozzarella sticks, and I'm not exaggerating when I say they were the best mozzarella sticks we have ever had. They were perfectly crispy on the outside, hot and gooey inside, and just on another level compared to what you normally expect when ordering mozzarella sticks. We were talking about them for the rest of the meal! For dinner, my wife had the Caesar salad, which was fresh, crisp, and really well done. I ordered the vodka chicken parm, and it was outstanding. The chicken was tender with a great crispy coating, and the vodka sauce took a traditional chicken parm and made it something a little different and special. It was a great portion and exactly the kind of meal you want after spending the day on Fire Island. The service was excellent from beginning to end. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome without ever making the meal feel rushed. And then there's the atmosphere. Le Dock really captures what makes dining on Fire Island special. It has that relaxed island feeling while still feeling like you're having a great night out. The setting and overall vibe made an already great meal even better. Great food, great service, and an amazing atmosphere. And seriously -- get the mozzarella sticks. We'll be thinking about those until the next time we're back! Definitely a 5-star experience for us, and we can't wait to return.

The view is really nice if you get to sit out on the back deck, it's really nice to sit on the water, but if it is hot, just know it's going to be hot out there as well. The food was fine, I wouldn't say it was amazing, but if I had to eat there again, I would. We got a combination of a burger, a steak dip sandwich, the lobster roll and Poké bowl. Would eat here again, I'm sure there's other great options that would be less expensive.

It took almost 30 minutes just to have our order taken, another 30 minutes for soup, another 30 minutes for the calamari appetizer, and yet another 30 minutes for our main dish, which was just a lobster roll. What should have been a simple meal turned into an unnecessarily long and frustrating wait. What made it worse was that our waitress didn't seem apologetic at all about how long everything was taking. In fact, she appeared much more attentive to the table next to us, who she seemed to know personally, while we were left waiting most of the time. To add to that, the water we asked for never even arrived. The experience ended on an uncomfortable note when we went to pay. Our card was flagged for possible fraud (likely because we're not from the area). While my husband was already pulling out cash to pay, a man wearing a beanie and chef jacket stood there in a pushy manner insisting we call the bank immediately while he waited. Between the extremely slow service, lack of attentiveness, and the uncomfortable payment interaction, the entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. Save yourself the trip and the time -- we should have listened to the reviews before making the drive.

No answer so we decided to come before opening so that it wasnt their busiest time, ordered a burger, and brought a celiac safe meal for myself. I started eating before my partner incase anyone wasnt happy with me bringing it so we could be done fast. We did have a shopping bag for my dogs essentials in the heat, and his water bottle was on the table. We brought our own two seltzers which I am assuming may not be allowed and I apologize for that. No one seemed to mind until it seems a family that ordered expensive drinks asked the owner Steve to have us move. Ofcourse, it was the one time my dog stepped up onto the seat for water, but other than that we specifically only took up the corner of our table incase anyone needed the other side. Plenty of space, and dog is very friendly. Steve couldve asked nicely but was incredibly rude. Gestured at me sort of aggressively and said "you cant be doing this". I told him about restrictions and he said "I dont care i only have 4 tables'". When leaving, I saw an open table. I get it, ok, but just be nicer and don't make a scene. 2 stars because burger was ok and the views are great.
