Pretty fresh selection of fish. They have different sauces and toppings for your bowl too Small store in the strip Good and fast service Just found a little small in the fish portion compared to other spots.

This well-known poke shop in the heart of Waikiki always has a long line out the door. Be prepared to wait about 30min. In return, you will be rewarded with some super ono poke. Not the best flavor on island IMO, but very fresh. I like that they mix the sauce fresh in front of you. They claim this really lets the fish itself shine and I agree. But I personally prefer the deeper flavors in other places I've been. Perhaps asking for extra sauce might make a difference? Not sure... I got the spicy shoyu with ahi and avocado ($2.50 extra). I asked for sushi rice, but got plain white rice instead. Not a big deal, but I wasn't impressed with their rice, which seemed hard and undercooked to me. Overall, it's a good pick if you're looking for a casual spot in Waikiki and don't mind a little wait. No parking, but plenty of good outdoor table seating.

I always see line here when I passed by and wanted to give it a try. I just ordered classic tuna poke with salad base. The portion could be better. The fish was fresh and setting was casual. They gave outdoor bench and I could enjoy my food.

The line is constantly out the door for a reason. While the locally caught blue marlin lacked a bit of standalone flavor, the incredible sauce pairings and top-tier tuna make this a must-visit for a quick, fresh poke fix. Large Poke Bowl with Hawaiian and Creamy Sesame Sauce and Large Poke Bowl with Spicy Mayo (4/5): The tuna was the absolute standout and tasted incredibly fresh, pairing beautifully with the mix of Hawaiian and Creamy Sesame sauces that soaked perfectly into the rice. While the spicy mayo bowl offered a solid, comforting option with a great kick, the locally caught blue marlin didn't carry much flavor on its own and relied heavily on the sauce. The shrimp was a great addition for variety. Logistics Tip: Don't let the line intimidate you, as it moves incredibly fast and your food is ready in minutes. Just keep in mind that seating is limited to a few outdoor spots, so you may need to take it to go. Note that toppings are priced a la carte unless you go with one of their prebuilt signature bowls.

This was the first and last spot I visited on my vacation, and I honestly can't express how good this place is. You just have to try it for yourself. I'll definitely keep coming back anytime I'm here. I got the Signature Shoyu Bowl with no shrimp, extra tuna, spicy mayo on the side, and extra sea asparagus. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. The sea grapes weren't my favorite personally, but I'm still glad I tried them.

Wait, this place was a highlight of my trip. As soon as we landed and checked into our Airbnb, we stopped by Maguro, and the line was basically non-existent. We made the mistake of ordering online via the QR code in front of the store because we thought it would be easier, but the worker told us it is much faster to order at the cashier since there is a 15-minute hold for online orders before they start making them. Originally, I had ordered something else online, only to realize they had the Teriyaki Salmon bowl in person but not online. The staff member kindly helped me change my order, which I really appreciated. And thank goodness I changed my order because the Teriyaki Salmon bowl was so good. The meat-to-rice ratio was perfect, and it was not too saucy. It was the perfect welcome meal and lunch I needed. Since we were a large group of nine, my other party members ordered different items, and their reviews slightly differed from mine, as they felt the rice-to-protein ratio was a bit unbalanced, with too much rice, but overall still good. There is limited outdoor seating if you are lucky enough to grab a table, and the shop itself is small.

Our hotel happened to be next to this popular spot, so we were super excited to try it out. We stopped by for an early lunch and the line was really short. When we came back around 1 PM, the line had wrapped around the corner, so definitely recommend going during an off hour. We got an extra large spicy spicy special bowl to share. Generous amount of fish with nice cuts. The sauce was delicious and the seaweed salad, onion, cucumber, and edamame paired perfectly. Excellent poke; I would definitely come again! Total came out to $23.50 plus tax/tip.

Had to really zoom in. A thin layer of poke.

Not sure why folks are raving about this place. For $17, you get a whole lot of rice vs a balanced poke bowl. I prefer they charge more than skim out on the poke. Quality wise, the fish was decent and fresh. But again, nothing to rave about. I asked for sushi rice (vinegar rice) but they gave me plain white rice instead. :(

Maguro Spot was our first poke spot on our trip to Hawai'i and it was... fine. The store itself is pretty small, and the line stretches out the door and down the street. We came on a Wednesday around... 6-7pm and waited about 20 minutes to get to the front of the line. I thought it was really cool that they serve blue marlin. You don't see that at every poke shop in California! I liked it actually- it had a nice meaty texture and natural sweetness to it. I built my own poke bowl, so in addition to the blue marlin, I got salmon and tuna on a bed of white rice with ponzu and spicy mayo.  Now before my trip to Hawai'i, I've always looked at people's poke bowls from Hawai'i online and wondered why there were so much less toppings than what I was used to. If you get a poke bowl in California, typically toppings such as green onions, crispy onions, masago, seaweed salad, etc are free. Some places will charge you for a scoop of crab meat and avocado and some places have these free as well. But after coming to Hawai'i, I understood why. It's not because these toppings aren't available - it's because they charge you for absolutely everything! Want green onions? 75 cents. Seaweed salad? A dollar fifty. Tobiko? 2 dollars. Avocado? $2.50!. If I were to build a poke bowl at Maguro Spot the same way I would in California, it would probably cost me upwards of $30.  But instead of getting all the toppings I usually would, I settled on 3: seaweed salad, avocado, and tobiko. All things considered, I thought my bowl was decent but did not live up to my expectations. I will say that the rainbow sauce is really good. I tried a bite of my friend's bowl with the rainbow sauce on it and regretted not getting it. It's a mix of spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce, and it's sooo good. Sweet, spicy, and creamy. If I ever come back, I would get a bowl with that sauce, but I probably wouldn't. The line is long even on a weekday night, and I don't think you're getting the best bang for your buck here.

I love this spot lol. The fish feels so FRESH! Definitely recommend the Marlin and Tuna. Only complaint I have is the rice to fish ratio felt so off and it was just heavy on the rice side. Service was quick and simple. Sat outside on the benches next to the shop and it was fine!

Built my own poke bowl with tuna, blue marlin, wasabi shoyu, and sea grapes -- and it was amazing! The fish was fresh and tender, the wasabi added a nice kick, and the sea grapes were surprisingly fun with no fishy taste. My friends' bowls were tasty too, but some add-ons like ikura ($4) and avocado ($2.50) felt a bit skimpy for the price. Overall, great experience! I'll definitely get sea grapes again! Simple builds are worth it; extra toppings aren't necessary. :)

We visited at an off-hour around 4pm, hoping the line won't be too crazy, but there was still a line haha. Not too bad though, we maybe waited 15mins? It was moving at a good pace at least. Looking at their menu, it honestly looks kind of overwhelming cause they offer so many things and many types of fishes, sauces, styles, etc. We ended up choosing the Spicy Shoyu with Salmon & Blue Marlin. Overall, the fish was pretty nice! Price were pretty good too for Hawaii. Although, I couldn't really tell the difference between having the Salmon and the Blue Marlin, so they were kinda the same to me. It was a good poke snack to have. The store itself is rather very small, but there are plenty of shared benches right outside of it. It is kind of dirty and not as maintained, but still not bad.

Great service. The guy upfront was super cool and helpful. Small little spot for just grab and go. If you're dropped off make sure you go around that sign to the left and that's where the line starts. After I ordered I directed people to the line and the worker thanked me and showed appreciation he was cool. Solid poke bowl the rice was pretty warm which was. A surprise.. kinda wish it was room temp as it heated the fish a bit. Very very fresh fish.. for a decently affordable price. I'd say it's better than Foodland but honestly not by a ton. It def hit the spot. The ask what fishes you want and what sauces and they mix it together. I got the largest one and smashed it all in one sitting I'd rate it a solid 8.6/10 wasn't the best bowl I've ever had but was very very good I would go back to try more.

It had great flavor without overpowering the freshness of the fish. - The wasabi ahi was also good, but be prepared for a strong wasabi kick that definitely clears your sinuses. - I also tried the Hawaiian ahi, which was a little too mild for my taste. - The miso tako ended up being my least favorite because it leaned much sweeter than I expected. Next time I'd probably go with the shoyu instead since I was looking for a bit more flavor. One thing they absolutely get right is the fish itself. It's incredibly fresh, buttery, and almost melt in your mouth tender. Compared to other well-known poke spots, I actually preferred the quality and flavor of the fish here. The only reason I'm taking off one star is the rice. They use regular jasmine rice, and I really think sushi rice would make a huge difference. Since poke is essentially fish and rice, the rice should complement the fish instead of feeling like an afterthought. Service was quick and straightforward. You tell them what you want, they build your bowl, you pay, and you're on your way. The shop itself is very small with no indoor seating, just a couple of outdoor tables, so I'd consider this more of a grab-and-go spot than a place to dine in. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the freshness of the fish alone. With sushi rice, this place would be even better.
