Bento was delicious. I got the last miso butterfish bento and it was a very good sized portion. It was a good portion size for me and it wasn't too big. The sides were also just as delicious as the butterfish itself. The rice they pride themselves on using really makes all the difference in their bentos and musubis because I could definitely taste the difference. Definitely one of the best bento/musubi places I've had so far. Would make my way back to Eaton Square just to eat their food again. Service was quick and helpful. It is also just a takeout spot but there are tables outside where you can eat - but not a ton of seating so keep that in mind. I got lucky and scored a table but I can imagine at peak hour for lunch it can get crowded.

A portable Japanese breakfast or lunch option for Waikiki at reasonable prices for high quality and deliciousness. The lady running the shop is very sweet. The shop is located through the Eaton Square Arch, next to the CoCo sandwich store. It opens at 8am and runs a brisk business so come earlier to snag your favorite musubi and bento. In addition to the ready made food sitting out they offer an ala carte menu of poke bowls, beef bowls, and more. They also sell cups of coffee which was quite good for simple drip coffee. My favorite musubi was the unagi/egg and the spicy tuna. Theyre not huge, so would recommend at least 2-3 depending on how hungry you are, for a fuller meal. The rice was excellent quality, cooked and made fresh, and the fillings were generously portioned, with great filing to rice ratio. The bento selection was very good, each one had a good portion of rice and nice variety of protein and veggie sides. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. The salmon was super tender! Overall 5/5 and would definitely return. Perfect for the beach!

    Medium combo poke bowl

As a preface, I rarely eat poke. However, this restaurant serves the most delicious poke I've ever eaten. I ordered a medium combo poke bowl ($17.67). The combo comes with a mix of shoyu and spicy sauces. The sauces tasted perfectly savory, and I loved how the flavors permeated the fresh fish. They also mill rice imported from Japan. It tasted great with furikake. Located in Eaton Square, a small shopping plaza, this restaurant doesn't have seating inside. The lady taking my order was nice and brought my food to me outside as there are patio tables. It was quiet when I went, so I ate in peace. The tables didn't look totally clean, but they were adequate.

Komedokoro M's is located in a small plaza at Eaton Square in the Waikiki area of Honolulu. It's a small take-out spot with no indoor seating but a couple tables outside. They specialize in Japanese musubi and bento using Tsuyahime rice from Japan that's milled daily. We ordered a variety of spam musubi, including their mini-set which included three different mini musubis so you can sample different kinds. We also ordered the chicken and egg musubi and the spicy tuna musubi. The rice was unsurprisingly soft and fresh and I particularly liked the spicy tuna musubi. You can even buy the rice that they use in the store and, if you're wondering, they are allowed in carry-on luggage. It's a hidden gem that you wouldn't expect in such an inconspicuous plaza but it is a homey spot serving good musubis. Note that they close at 2pm and they're closed on Sundays.

Konedokoro M's has a special place in my heart, and I always come here when I am in Oahu. I first discovered this gem in 2021 when visiting the island for a friend's wedding. It's a small space and every thing is made fresh daily. They also have plates that can be ordered fresh while supplies last. They sell out quick so I try to come as early as possible to get the yummy onigiri. They have this braised pork belly and soft boiled egg onigiri that is to die for! The poke bowl is my favorite as I eat poke daily when on island. Ahi is super fresh and the flavors are simple and delicious. I always do half n half to have the best of both worlds! The staff is always super friendly and helpful if you have any questions. Until next time!

Love this takeaway eatery for onigiri! Located on the ground floor in Eaton Square, this small shop is welcoming with their fresh, well-stocked, assortment. As you walk in, you'll see rice being polished at the counter. Stop and marvel at this process, acknowledging the detailed processing of high-quality ingredients (from Japan) put into their sumptuous creations! Their selection is impressive - grab a convenient basket for your choices. They also have a few nice bento box options (great for plane rides)! Passengers have marveled and asked about it!

Comforting Japanese takeout food! The musubi are excellent. My favorite was the kakuni rice ball. The katsu curry was delicious as well. Everything tastes freshly made.

I work in the area so I've been coming to Komedokoro for a while now. They are absolutely the best when it comes to bentos and musubi. Everything is made fresh daily and the prices are so great! They get the rice from Japan and you can taste the great quality. Customer service is amazing, every worker is so nice. Highly recommend!

Looking for a spot to pick-up a quick lunch in Waikiki that won't break the bank? Komedokoro M's has you covered. Located in the Easton Square, this is probably the most peaceful spot in Waikiki. I've never been here before and it feels like being transported to a sleepy neighborhood in Japan. It's a mixed residential space with apartments towering over. There is a parking lot, but Komedokoro M's unfortunately does not validate. Komedokoro M's specializes in onigiri, bentos, and poke bowls. Prices are very reasonable and you'll be able to try a little bit of everything on a budget. Onigiri runs $2-$4 and bentos and poke bowls are about $10 each. My favorite onigiri has to be the Pork Kakuni and egg. It's a stewed pork and medium egg -- I could've ate multiple! More than just the toppings, the rice is quality! I don't think you can go wrong, so just pick a few and be adventurous! They have these cute little baskets to put all your onigiri and bentos in... mine was overfilled. The poke bowl for the price is amazing-- the fish was very fresh and both the spicy and shoyu was great! I would try and get here as early as possible for the most onigiri options.

This place is a hidden gem located on the south end of Easton Square off Hobron Lane. Great place for take out breakfast/lunch. The onigiri's are fairly priced and delicious, but the real star of the show, for me, was the Poke. Possibly the best Poke I've had in O'ahu. Service has always been great, every time! Opens M-Sat: 8am to 2pm.

    Yummy! Eel and egg.

This place came highly recommended. There were a lot of varieties of onigiri. It was go big or go home. I got the eel with avocado and egg. It was delicious! Just a little something to tide me over.

The best onigiris on the island! Came here about an hour after opening and a lot of things were already almost sold out. I like how there are trays so you can hold the items you want to purchase. The staff here is always nice and makes the whole experience smooth. My favorite items here were the pork Kakuni onigiri and the chicken karage with mayo! The rice is perfectly cooked and I love how fluffy yet mochi-like the rice is. Each onigiri is stuffed with quite a bit of filling which made it more enjoyable. One item I didn't like at all would be the mayo salmon. Unlike the tuna mayo, the salmon is a weird dry texture where I would've preferred regular salmon. Overall great spot to get onigiris and bento boxes.

It takes some effort to locate. Small shop with a variety of musubi, onigiri, and bento boxes. Staff were friendly. They offer both cash prices and credit card prices. The spam musubi was good overall, though the topping was a pretty thin slice.

We also ordered the A5 Wagyu Filet Mignon Katsu set that we grilled on hot stone. Marbling was exquisite, meat super tender. Rice, cabbage salad & miso soup are unlimited. We enjoyed every bite of our meal. We reserved on Yelp, got seated right away, there were only 2 Japanese aunties taking orders, bussing, serving, checking out, refilling etc and served with a smile. We will definitely make sure to return here on our next visit to the island. It's money well spent. They close around midnight - it's very close to Hard Rock Cafe and Lahaina Shave Ice. It's delicious and the fry is perfect but it can be pretty rich/fatty. It does come with a side of Japanese spicy mustard, which goes great and helps cut some of the richness. If you order a set, they give unlimited salad, miso soup, and rice as well. This time, we also got the Hamburg steak set, which was surprisingly so delicious. It was juicy, super moist, and very flavorful. I'm usually not a fan of this dish, but it was delicious here! The servers are efficient and quick to offer refills of the sides and water. The space isn't very big, some tables and some counter seating, so if you're going with more than 2 people, a reservation is highly recommended. Whenever we're in Hawaii, we'll be back.

I've been to Mitch's a few times and when I saw that they opened up an Izakaya next door, I knew I had to try it and made a reservation on Yelp. Izakaya Mitch's specializes more in cooked dishes while the other side is more about the fresh / raw fish. But that didn't stop us from ordering the assorted sashimi. All the fish were from Japan and yes you can taste the difference. The fatty tuna was obviously my favorite but even the regular tuna and the hamachi was so buttery, it just melts in your mouth. Plus, it comes with real wasabi. Not horseradish, real wasabi. For the cooked dishes we got the hokkaido crab tempura with a side of matcha salt. One of the best tempuras I've ever had. The kamameshi, a rice dish with their fish of the day. We got the half order and it's kinda like a bibimbap where they mix the rice for you at your table. Karei is a flat fish and I've never had a fish karaage before, it was perfectly fried and dipped in the ponzu sauce it was so good.
