Rented piece of crap Jeep that had 152K miles on it. Seats were ripped, dashboard was lit up like a Christmas tree with all the error codes. ABS not working, check engine light is on, Big red exclamation point flashing, missing knob to control the A/C, traction control light on and not working, the list goes on. Was told that I need to "relax" when I tried to address the number of issues with the rental company. And that all the cars on the island are old and have issues. This is simply a lie. Is it possible to give a place zero stars? I've never in my life have rented a car for so much money and gotten total crap for it. The salesperson was at the ferry pier in Playa del Carmen and she was very convincing that she was representing a reputable company. She showed me a photo of this pristine white Jeep Wrangler. Instead we got a rusted out Jeep from the 90s. The gear shift falls off. The windows have to be rolled down. The driver side seatbelt doesn't tighten! It's a gas guzzler. You can only unlock the passenger doors from the inside. The AC cannot be adjusted. I could go on and on. All this for $90. I could rent a car in the US for three days for that price and the oldest it would be would be a year old. It was a tin can on wheels. Not to mention that the rental place is sketchy and middle of no where. Do yourself a favor and just take a taxi or or do a tour with a reputable company. Avoid this place at all costs!! read more

This is what happens when you don't check YELP before you buy. I can only agree with all of the previous reviews. Rented a Jeep at the Ferry dock in Playa del Carmen with a super nice lady. The Jeep was waiting for us yet it was a total piece of crap, nothing really worked and the only the drivers seat had a seatbelt, the rest were broken. dented all around, car in terrible shape. Supposedly this was the only car they had. We returned it without refuiling out of protest. RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE. This is RENT A WRECK for a premium price! read more

On the Port of Playa del Carmen, we took the ferry to Cozumel, in the line, this lady comes to us helping and showing a car rental, for $1300 we rent a standard jeep, we thought it was a good idea because it was 3 of us. Really nice people, really good service, but the cars they rent you, ARE HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Don't even know where to start... - The blinkers DIDNT WORK AT ALL, everyone was shouting at us because of that. - It made a weird noise on the breaks AWFULL - The hand break didn't work AT ALL, we actually had to put rocks on the tires Amazing people, but TERRIBLE CARS!!!!! read more

We got roped in waiting for the Cozumel Ferry as their booth is right in the waiting area to board. Do NOT rent a Jeep from here. It looks good from far even from the outside but it is all rusted, looks like it's been robbed, the engine light was constant on, beeping sound constantly like a door is open or someone doesn't have a seatbelt, constantly grinded when trying to get into 5th gear. It was pretty scary, I was so scared we were going to get halfway around Cozumel and it would die. I would not do this again. I'm so surprised someone hasn't gotten hurt or in car accident yet... or maybe they have and I haven't read their reviews yet. Our kids had to climb over the wheel and into the back because the seats were sooo rusted that they did not move at all. Same with the canopy it was not moving at first. Lairs and cheats! Victor approached us while boarding the Ferry to Cozumel. Promised us 4 Jeeps. We asked if gas and insurance were included in the price we negotiated. He laughed at us (as if that was a dumb question) and said "Of course!". After walking to the office he informed us that one of the Jeeps wasn't working so we were offered a compact car instead. LOL! Then...they present us with MORE paperwork and explain there will be extra charges for insurance and gas. That was enough for me to throw a fit. I reminded him, in front of his boss (grumpy dude) that he said it was all included. He gave a confused look and denied he said such a thing. He looked me in the eye and lied. We immediately left in a rage for the whole town to witness. Too bad they try and operate a scam instead of just offering a legitimate business with decent service. read more

Nice people... at first. We rented the buggie and it was a broken POS (would just pop out of third gear). They gave it to us with half a tank and told us to return it with a half tank. When we got gas the gas attendant filled it as far as it would go... it wouldn't take any more... but when we returned the buggie Victor said it wasn't a half tank (and he wouldn't give it time for the gage to go up after the buggie is started)... he just argued and we finally gave in and gave him 100 more pesos. We actually have him 500 pesos and he tried to short change us. Use another company... this one is not recommended. There are cheaper ones when you get off the ferry. Don't buy the packages in Playa del Carmen... not a deal... and rude swindlers at the end. read more

What can I say... run away as fast as you can. We fell for the scam in line at Playa dal Carmen ferry. Piece of crap vehicle, gauges do not work, do no idea how fast you are going. Salesman stated multiple times that all insurances were included, guy there kept telling us no, and went from rude to angry when we did not buy more insurance. Jeep was in terrible shape, when we started marking all the damage and things that did not work, he became even more angry. Would not refund our money at that time so we made do. Returning it was even more hassle.... Again run away from these people as fast as you can, they are the reason so many great local vendors get bad names.... read more

The worst! Do not rent from this place. They first tried to give us a vehicle we did not rent, then they brought us a lesser vehicle but would not refund us the price difference to the lower quality vehicle. When the 2nd vehicle was driven around front (which took over 30 minutes to receive) there was no license plate and no windshield wipers. We refused to take the vehicle, due to safety, as it was about to rain that day and there were no windshield wipers. When we said we couldn't accept this since there were no windshield wipers they didn't see why we had an issue. Then they brought us the original wrong vehicle back. The whole thing was ridiculous. And took over an hour standing in the sun. We wasted so much time that we should have been able to enjoy during our very brief time on the island. Don't waste your time here like we did. read more

Typical situation. Purchased the rental from a guy(Jorge) before boarding the boat to Cozumel from Playa del Carmen. $75 for 2017-2018 4 door jeep with AC. Had a bit of an issue locating place. The map with location provided was off a half block. Like always they push the extra insurance so hard. It was only $25 extra but I never get it. They try to scare you into getting it. I stood my ground. Rental guy was a real ass. After a few minutes my jeep rolls up. 2016, 2 door, no AC and it's a piece of junk 6 speed. I decided to go back inside and let the ass know that what I was told I was renting wasn't close to what I was given. He called his boss who said I would have to pay $30 more for a nicer jeep. I declined. Then he called Jorge the original guy, who I think just plan lied to get a sell. He gave me the phone to talk and after a few seconds of hearing him blow me smoke I just hung up on him. I went ahead and took the junker. Passenger seat didn't lock into place. Alignment was all over the place. Tires wobbled once you reached 20kph. We didn't let it ruin our day. Still had a great day on Cozumel. Next time I will just rent/negotiate when I reach the island. read more

I wouldn't even give them 1 star. Absolute crooks & rude. Their ads for vehicles look great, but then they give you vehicles that breaks down & leaves you stranded. Then want to charge you even more for additional items. 3 of the 4 vehicles in our group were rented from them & all 3 of the vehicles had mechanical problems & hassles with the company. Save yourself the hassle & DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! Ask around and find another company who will not rip you off & do not leave you broken down on the opposite side of the island. read more

We rented a 4 door Jeep with air conditioning from the service outside Hotel Barracuda. We wanted one with the top off, but said they had none available. So we settled on the more expensive one. It wasn't in horrible shape, but broke down at Coconuts with a bad battery. We waited over an hour for someone to bring a different battery. Still would not start every time. So we brought it back to the rental site. They told us all they had left was a 2 door Jeep which was a pile of junk. Wouldn't accelerate and had no radio and every light on the dash was lite up! We wasted half our day dealing with a broke down Jeep. Then when we went to turn in the vehicle they wanted to charge us more for Gasoline. Said it was full when we got it... SCAM ALERT -- We were taking the ferry in Playa Del Carmen to Cozumel when a very friendly and helpful person named Victor approached us and talked to us about on renting a jeep for $200 USD. When we said we were going to rent one from our sister hotel on the island for $119 USD the price dropped to $100 USD. We decided to take his deal which was a huge mistake. When we get to Cozumel and walk to the office Guess what? There is no jeep. They want to give us the compact car for the same price that we paid for the jeep. I immediately said it was a bait and switch and for some reason the lady at the counter agreed. When I said I wanted the money returned she said that I would have to get it from Victor who was at Playa Del Carmen. She also said that she did not have his phone number for us to contact him however when saying that he was an employee of their company she miraculously found his phone number. By time we were at the place in Cozumel it was 1 o'clock and Victor got off work at three so there was no way we were getting our money back that day. I went back to the office at 7 pm and the lady was outside the office and I asked if Victor came over to drop off the cash for the day and she said that he stays in Playa. So I don't know how the office gets the money the scam each day to Cozumel. Long story short, we never got our money back. Rented a Jeep at ferry port in Playa, surprise surprise there's no Jeep available but they do have a substitute, a super compact POS but they'll give us insurance for "free". Yeah, no thanks. I could have rented that car online for $8 instead of the equivalent $75 for the Jeep. Just give me my money back. Well, that's a problemo. We'll give you your money back in USD (even though we paid in pesos), and your new exchange rate is 17:1 (going rate is (19:1). You're going to try to scam me again? He didn't take too kindly when I called him cabron. Ha ha. Threatened to call the cops on me. Go ahead - explain to them how you're trying to rip me off. Game on. Let's do this!
