Told van with ac, hardly! Told to go to this place, so wonderful, call us as we where on our way, oh they are are closed. Started off with 3/4 tank of gas, should have stopped and pointed this out. We got gas after our day trip to fill to 3/4 tank. Office people said no! We need a full tank! Charged us even more $$

We got roped in waiting for the Cozumel Ferry as their booth is right in the waiting area to board. Do NOT rent a Jeep from here. It looks good from far even from the outside but it is all rusted, looks like it's been robbed, the engine light was constant on, beeping sound constantly like a door is open or someone doesn't have a seatbelt, constantly grinded when trying to get into 5th gear. It was pretty scary, I was so scared we were going to get halfway around Cozumel and it would die. I would not do this again. I'm so surprised someone hasn't gotten hurt or in car accident yet... or maybe they have and I haven't read their reviews yet. Our kids had to climb over the wheel and into the back because the seats were sooo rusted that they did not move at all. Same with the canopy it was not moving at first. Drivers seat was half bent sideways. Strangest rental ever!

    Don't rent from here

He has a booth outside in the walk way right in front of Miniso! He offers tourist attractions and sold us the rental car through Rentadora Golondrina. We ride the ferry all the way to Cozumel, walk to the rental place, just to find out they don't even have the car we rented, and mind you it's getting late in the evening, and the rental is by day so they said they would have to go get the car we rented, I was not happy because at that point we would only have the car for 2 hours but we were going to do it until they presented us a contract in all SPANISH. About liability, damage, etc to the vehicle. We don't speak nor read Spanish, that's when I opened my phone to look the place up and seen the reviews, to which my surprise nothing but scam experiences, so we kindly declined asked for a refund and left. This has been almost a month ago and they have yet to refund me for goods and services I did not receive. Beware, don't do business with "ET" aka Eric Torres, or this establishment you will be scammed.

When we questioned Hector by phone back in Playa Del Carmen he wasn't of any help and told us we had purchased additional insurance which we had not. The rental agency in Cozumel actually had the nerve to falsify our original contract, crossed out that we had refused additional insurance and forged our name that we had purchased it thus accounting for the additional $25. WE NEVER AGREED TO THIS AND THEY KNOW IT. The BOTTOM LINE... Don't go to this agency and do your homework before renting in Cozumel! They are total scammers!

Rentadora Golondrina - This is what Carlos called a 'buggy'. We saw plenty of other vehicles that would have been considered a buggy but this was a car w/no top.

Told at the airport that the car I booked was unavailable, but that I would be "given an upgrade because I was so nice". When the paperwork came I pulled out my pesos to US conversion app and was told "no no, is okay, is price on the app, this is just showing what we hold in case the car is stolen". Turns out the charged me almost $1400 for the week. Plus they put me into a huge car I was uncomfortable driving, since I'm usually a Toyota Yaris girl. I know I was taken advantage of because I'm a female tourist, but I was hoping because I booked through Delta and a big company that I wouldn't get scammed. After all my worries of getting scammed in Mexico, this was the only place that did it.

They were angling to screw me thankfully I was able to produce a picture. The whole incident was obviously not in good faith. They knew the banged up car with no obvious sign of damage to the plastic part was loose from decay. But they tried. Make sure take lot of pictures of the car from all angles. Make sure the check document is well Marked and shake each piece even if not having obvious damage. Also make arrangements for taxi as they asked me to go far away to a non existent taxi stand and not drop me back to airport. I had to walk all the way back to airport. Thank god this experience is over.

I had to ask to find out that the National counter would be handling Thrifty customers. THAT was a long line, mostly because they were understaffed. I had to wait in 2 lines to get my car. They leave the keys in the vehicle. I was sent to spot number 14 and as I got there the vehicle in it was being driven away. Back in line I went to wait for them to assign me another vehicle. Staff were helpful and friendly, but the manager needs to tighten up this operation to prevent customer aggravation.

As you exit the building turn left and follow the sidewalk and you will see Thrifty (and Dollar Rental) across from the small airport. We have rented several times from this location during various trips to Cozumel and have never had any problems. Tips: It is cheaper to rent two cars than one minivan (if you have two drivers available). You must get the insurance in Mexico. The insurance will cost you more than the rental. Probably why the rental prices are so low. My recommendation is to get the full coverage! Our last rental was a Volkswagon Vento. $340 US for one week. Perfect for four adults and all our luggage. Tight squeeze to get to our rental condo but perfect for everyday outings. Gas - all the gas stations are owned by the same person so no need to shop around. Also, the stations are full-service so sit back and relax. You must tip the attendant.

They were very responsive to my emails when I was setting up our rental for the day our cruise ship was to be in port, and the price and selection of bikes are excellent. We were looking forward to our experience on Cozumel that day. Unfortunately the Coronavirus or COVID19 or whatever you know it as lumbered into our path. The group of over 100 people we were cruising with on MSC decided to postpone the cruise because of the threat of the virus, and we did also, since the main reason we were going was to be with this group. We also heard that MSC was going to cancel the entire cruise, though they didn't in the end. Anyway, I emailed Rent a bike 8 days ahead to let them know our group was canceling the trip. I didn't hear back from them until the scheduled day of the ride when someone called and asked why we weren't there to get our bikes. I told her about my email and the canceled trip, but I don't think she understood between our two accents. (Funnily enough, we were riding our bikes locally when she called!) When I got home I emailed them again, forwarding my previous email, but I still haven't gotten a response. Perhaps that email address only works until the rental is paid for. I suspect I have lost the money I paid. It is partly my fault - hence the three stars - but I can't recommend them in case something goes wrong for you and I will have to find something else for us to do if and when the trip is rescheduled.

We rented a Specialized Roubaix and a Cervelo TT bike for one day. They delivered and picked up the bikes at our hotel. They were very punctual. Their reservation system is practical and easy to use, and they are very responsive via email or WhatsApp. The bikes were in very good shape, just a couple of scratches. The crankset was pristine. Payments are done via PayPal. The island of Cozumel is a great place to ride. There is a 40-mile-long two-lane bike path that goes around the island. The bike path is wide and safe and in pretty good condition. About 30 miles of the path are along the gorgeous Caribbean Sea. There are lots of virgin or slightly developed beaches along the ride where you can stop for a swim. You will also find places to eat or drink water every 5-10 miles. It's a great experience, we'll definitely come back and recommend this trip and Rent a Bike Cozumel to all our friends.
