Called in to go order 30 minutes in advance & let them know I was coming from the airport by Uber. Asked if that was enough time, or let me know & I'll wait to call for Uber. No problem on the time they said. Got there in 25 minutes & my food didn't come out for 40 more minutes. I kept asking how long, so i could ditch the Uber driver waiting & kept being told just a couple minutes. They cooked 9 to go orders ahead of mine, When I finally got mine I said that it was poor judgement to make 9 orders ahead of me, for customers not yet there & they didn't have an Uber driver waiting. The food was pretty good, 3 1/2 stars. But the crazy lack of help & wait for everyone will probably shut them down. It was ridiculous. read more

Went there for my birthday on Saturday. Worst food I ever had their. I ordered pad Thai, NO Flavor, Noodle stuck together in huge hunks, scrambled eggs in huge chunks Surrounding the hard clumps of noodles. Very Very bland and oily. Other people have the shrimp fried rice and chicken fried rice. Unfortunately theirs did not get any better but worse. Lacked flavor and very very oily To the point you could not digest it. Want authentic Thai food, this is the place!! If you can look past the rundown building, you won't be disappointed. Our server was friendly but service was so slow. for appetizer we had the papaya salad w/chicken wing, unfortunately they were out of chicken wing. In lieu we were given fried "chicken". It did not even taste like chicken, gross. Papaya salad was ok, we found an unappealing raw black chopped up crab...entrees, red curry w/tofu and nan kyi thou. The red curry was very good, with hints of basil. As for the nan kyi thout, it left us wanting more. The Burmese tea was worth the trip on its own, must try! read more

My fiance and I were in Fort Wayne on business and didn't expect to find a place like this here. The food was good, but the value was great. We walked out paying only $26.00 for two entrees, a starter and a Thai tea, oh, and that was with tax. This is also why I chose to give 5 stars. Everything is a function of its price, and this was certainly no exception to that rule. Price aside, we would have given it 4 stars. As others have stated, the Samosas are great and so was the clear soup, a real treat for me. Entrees were good too, but could have used a bit of refinement. I'm not going to complain, though, because, as I said, we were getting much more than we were paying for. Try this place and you won't be disappointed. read more

Don't be put off by appearances...this place has amazing Thai/Burmese food. We started our meal with samosa's, which, amazingly, were both light and substantive at the same time. Amazing flavor and great texture. For the main course we had Tom Yum & Panang chicken curry. We ordered both medium. Both dishes were full flavored without being overpowering (in fact I think we could have ordered "hot" and been fine) and full of fresh vegetables. Mahnin has the best Thai and Burmese food in Fort Wayne, and so far anywhere else I've tried for that matter. I have yet to find anywhere that serves better green curry or samosas. Service can be slow if you're dining in; the location is tiny, staff is limited, and is often quite busy (especially on Sundays), so be sure to expect a bit of a wait. However, the people working at the restaurant are super friendly and hospitable (and will treat you like family if you're a regular), and the food is amazing, so it is well worth waiting for. One word of warning: they do not mess around with spices here, so be sure you can handle the heat before ordering anything Hot or Thai Hot! I'm simply updating my review from earlier so I can give Mahnin a higher rating, because they deserve it. read more

My friend and I, along with a little sidekick, ate at Mahnin for lunch today. Aside from a normal lunch crowd, a large party came in, so it took longer than a typical lunch hour - but it was worth it! We loved the laid back atmosphere and the food was supreme! You can get your meals with as much heat as you like, from zero to fire. I chose hot, and my tastebuds were delightfully numb and I couldn't smell for about 30 minutes. So, long ago I wrote about this joint on another site. I didn't realize I left it blank on Yelp. First off, yes, I've been to Thailand. Second...this is the real deal. One needs to know that it's also regional if your looking for the basic Pad Thai in peanut sauce. I live an hour away and hit this place maybe once a month or so. The Kuit Teow is the go to dish for me as I like huge noodle bowls. The broth is to kill for by itself. In traditional Thai method, the condiments are on the table to enhance your dish. Ask a waitress to show you how. The joint is across the street from, you guessed it, a Thai-Burmese grocery store. The joint is small with a row of booths and a few tables in the adjacent dining area. It's randomly decorated and set up for people who want to eat good food. This would be right off the block in Thailand. For me to toss out 5 stars at a place that is off the beaten path, in a less than stellar neighborhood is saying a lot. Give this joint your full attention if true Thai-Burmese food is on your mind. Maybe I will see you there. read more

I heard this place was excellent from a friend so I decided to head over. Although they were out of egg rolls, our friendly server offered the samosas and they were incredible! This review is for take out only. This is truly excellent food. I have lived most of my life in New York City or Chicago, and have never found Thai as good as this. Perhaps it is the Burmese influence. Their food is layered in flavor, not overly sweet, not overly salty, not overly greasy, full of fresh herbs, citrus, authentic fish sauce. The price is outstanding. We have had the delicious samosas (much thinner wonton than the Indian samosas we have had and with more flavor), the Yum Woon Sen, Sukiyaki, Kao Pad Kra Prao, and the Pad Khee Mao. All have been excellent. The broth in the Sukiyaki was incredible. We LOVE this restaurant! read more

Best Thai Food in town. Reasonable price with generous portions. My favorite is the Pad Kee Mao with extra basil and spicy. The samosas are crisper then your traditional ones at your local Indian place, less spice, and a must try! I've had all the items in the menu and none I Dislike. The condiments on the table takes you back to sitting on the streets of Thailand. Service is a hit or miss. Call your order 15 minutes ahead, you won't regret it. If you want to try Burmese, go on Friday - Sunday. There are food in containers in the fridge that you can also buy which are Authentic regional dishes from Myanmar. Just beware that it can be very oily and must enjoy with steamed rice. read more

We ordered fried rice with shrimp for our little kids, and they must have said at least a dozen times how much they loved it, and it was some of the best fried rice I've ever had! I ordered Pad Khee Mao, medium spice, and it was definitely spicy, and completely delicious! My husband had the Burmese fried noodles, and they were also so so good. We're only in town for a couple of days, and I'm so glad we picked this as one of our restaurants to try! WOW! The food and service is fantastic. I was alone and was able to order a mini appetizer for 80 cents. It is super cheap and the meals are huge. I sat next to a window with a good book and drank jasmine tea. Nothing costs extra. I had lot's of tea and sauces. I am also pretty sure they gave me a discount, and I don't know why. Coconut curry and the coconut chicken soup are fantastic. The tea is superb, but probably contains a ton of sugar. Samosas were also perfect.
